Intellect and I.Q. being indicators of potential for public service? Ever heard of George W. Bush ? He blows that theory all to hell.

Bush jr was a professional lofer until the age of 40.Virtually everything he has was given to him by his parents. Some say his biggest gift from his parents was the presidency?

I live in a home in Connecticut valued at $,800,000,with 5 bedrooms and 4.5 bathrooms(3 are luxurious whirlpool baths) and a lot of other so called "high end" features,my son in "Los Angeles" lives in a comparably priced home ,which is a Craftsman bungalow, built in 1928.My daughter has a one bedroom "closet" in Manhattan which she paid the same amount for.I lived on Long Island, for 35 years, where you would get little more than a shack for what Huckabee's house cost in Arkansas, but I'm sure his home is very nice. All this is to say that prices of real estate are "What the traffic will bear".And I believe Barack Obama bought his home recently after many years of paying off student loans he and his wife accumulated from their Ivy League education-plus reading somewhere that his wife's salary alone is about $212,000 per year. And finally----emmarcee ,you are a nitwit!!!

Once you got money, then you want power, when you got the power use it as you wish. It is just a simple human nature. The average Joe is just an average Joe!

    What about Ron Paul?

    What about Ron Paul?

Does that mean that the average Joe hasn't got a chance to run for office? Right he has'nt.
Does that mean that the average Joe has'nt got what it takes to run for office? Wrong he has.
So what's the problem? The political system is designed by powerful and rich people that can influence the majority of uninformed voters.

Sorry about the redundancy, I didn't think the first comment took as I had not registered yet.

Even thinking that people that live such ostentatious lifestyles are going to be in touch with the needs of the average taxpayer is ludicrous.

When one see's where these people are from financially it makes one question how they will ever be able to look out for their constituents best interests. There is no way they even understand the plight of the average taxpayer. Public servants my butt. And to the idiot that feels I.Q. and intellect are the deciding factors...look at G.W. Bush and try to say that again with a straight face.

Let the class-envy begin. The only issue I have is when the candidates live in these neighborhoods and then blast 'the rich', without including themselves. That and buying a home simply so you can run for office in that state\city without ever having lived there before the election.

People have houses like this because they have accomplished something in their lives. If you think these people are rich, think again, many people are pretty close in the 1 billion dollars in the bank catorgory. Its the reason normal citizens really dont have a role in government becuase of their intellect and IQ.

Not everyone is afforded the same opportunities in life--Please remember that. Yes, these people have been very succesfull, but that does not give you the right to degrade those who haven't been so fortunate. Your last comment on the intellect and IQ of the "normal citizen" was ignorant.

Is it any wonder why we can relate to Mike Huckabee? His home is worth as much as my parents' home...in CA...they are public school teachers and are not rich. Romney worked hard for his money, but it cracked me up when yesterday he said, "I don't lose sleep thinking about rich people and their taxes." Hmm...I'm glad he doesn't worry about himself.

  • Posted By: CA2NY @ 12/13/2007 9:05:26 AM

Absolutely. Governor Huckabee's home is worth less than my parents'...and my parents are not rich. That says something.

Just another example of why many American people have an easier time relating to Governor Huckabee.
