    al gore does not make any sense at all, whats wrong with him? is he turning against his own country?why all this hollywood and rock and roll nonsense business?did he get over the 2000 election mess or didn't he? true it was a mess he found himself in but it would have been just the same for the other guy if he would have been declared the winner! maybe he needed counseling and therapy and never got it because he at this very minute should be at the campaign trail busting his tail off trying to become president and right whatever he and many other americans think is wrong today ! today and not 2000!

    Al Gore already became president. We were just too stupid to accept the results of something good. I thought he would run this time (Edwards would've been an excellent VP for Gore). But who'd want to clean up this mess anyway?

    In 2000, Tennessee did NOT vote for Al Gore. End of story.
    If he ran, Al Gore would have to debate the theory of Anthropomorphic Global Warming, and the hysteria behind it is propelling him to be the world's first Green (Con Artist) billionaire. He's got a sweet deal going on. Why blow it?

    I noticed you ignored all the FACTS that were ated and used to support the conclusions. Typical lib, ignore the facts, never let them get in the way of your story line.
    Second, you completely ignore the difference between "climate change" and Anthropogenic Global Warming. "Climate change does in fact happen, and will continue to do so. Anthropogenic Global Warming is a HOAX...screaming to the rooftops as you appear to be tone deaf.

        Actually, at the moment we're at somewhat of a shallow sea level historically, with them gently and gradually rising ever since the last ice Age ended about 12,000 years ago (when the glaciers melted or began melting). The seas will / would likely continue to rise all on their own as part of the normal Ice age to non-Ice Age and back cycle of things. During the last inter-glacial period ( the "generally warm" years just like now) between the last Ice Age and the one that was before it, the seas were 100 or 200 feet deeper than now. So, given the reality about the Earth's history, how do you determine what normal is? Isn't the idea of a static comfy people friendly climate really an illusion, and change is the norm?

        The only thing "Inconvient" is we happen to be alive a time when the Earth is doing what it normally does (just like the Mini Ice Age and other times when the Climate was very people non-friendly.

        We may have helped "some" with fossil fuels, but the bigger and more inmportant issue is NOTHING promised by "Carbon Trading and reduction" is going to alter the climate we have to live with and adapt to for as far out as anyone cares to imagine. Its time we separated Disney like Gore fantasy from Earth science.

    More that that, I am sure that Algore has a score to settle with the American people. They dumped him in 2000 and the grudge he feels over that is the fuel that powers his global warming scheme. The campaign against carbon dioxide is Algore's effort to destroy the U.S. based on faulty science. I am fearful that the tactic is working. People all over the world are turning into head-nodding Climate Zombies over this issue.

    Summary:

    Climate Change is a HOAX (note the capital letters, SCREAM it to teh mooon)!
    Al Gore pollutes more than 500 other people (500? why not 5000. Yeah, that's it... 5000)!
    Ok, Climate Change is not a hoax, but it's cyclical
    Never mind cyclical, it's the sun (it sure warms me up when I'm outside... where's my beer?)
    Al Gore Can't win
    Al Gore could win, but he didn't before and isn't running... he's a such a looooser!

    The world needs Al Gore. Let's give him what he needs... a mandate from the people. If you read The Assault on Reason, it's clear that he's realized that the practice of politics needs fundamental change in the USA.       Well Donnie, Part 1: I offered a few verifiable facts RE historic CO2 for folks to chew on, I got the same partisan tripe any gets when they raise an objection to the narrow minded scope of Gore's CO2 mantra. I'm neither Right or Left, quite frankly I think both are more or less useless media driven (fabricated) extremes to keep the truth in this and other debates off kilter. You might also note that I didnt "deny" climate change, only raise an objection tot he Gore style "original sin" American Guilt manipulation of popular opinion as a control mechanism to raise taxes and costs on business. The entire carbon trading scheme is laughable. Any reasonable thinking person can see the Climate is changing, most reasonable thinking people can also small a rat too.         Well Donnie, Part 2: We cold ask Gore what he knows about HAARP boiling the atmosphere, or Project Argus manipulating the Ionosphere, he was ground zero for much of the DOD research funding and black box reports for how long? How many times reelected to Congress? What key secretive Defense related committees did he set on? The military has been jacking the Earth's Van Allen belts for decades in one way of another, and also clearly Solar cycles have ALWAYS driven climate cycles. We could also talk about the media fabricated hoax of El Nino winds being Global Warming influenced, when we who care about the facts know the undersea volcanoes drive the Pacific currents more than anything. We could talk about the total inadequacy of the atmospheric climate models as they dont couple to the oceans in any meaningful way (you can see for yourself what Woods Hole says about the models be wholly inadequate or accurate in modeling the fine grain dynamic data). We could also talk about while Gore and his "camp of scam artists" talk about a percentage move of CO2 on the atmosphere in the range of 0.0065% (read that as around 7/1000ths of 1 percent), while also everyone knows the major "global warning gas" is water vapor and its quantities dwarf any real consideration of CO2. We might also point to the models above are juvenile in their ability to accurately model water related vapor and cloud cover formation. We could also talk about the Max Plank Institute coming out with new research indicated the cloud cover formation in the atmosphere is also impacted by solar radiation and the resulting impacts of the atmospheric particles by way of the very same Van Allen be4lsts we've been meddling wiht as mention above. We might also suggest that wiht Gore's decades of hi level clearance he knows all this, yet conveniently ignores is. We could tale about Gore's "Lack of Reason" book, yet if we consider his slanted view of certain history and his total omission of facts related to his 're-invention' of history, its more or less laughable.

        But we wont, because this isn't a debate about facts, its a hoax of a fabricated discussion to play a classic bait and switch game. I would also point out that while you "complained" about objections, and called folks names, you also offered nothing coherent to the conversation. Typical tactic when nothing of value to offer.

    Gore cannot run if he still wants to preach his AGW HOAX. AGW is a complete HOAX. Hirsh cannot even get his facts straight, Australia did NOT sign the ridiculous Kyoto treaty. He saw it for what it was/is, global redistribution of wealth. First, the IPCC was writthen by so called "scientists" with just enough "scientific" information to make it appear crdible. It was written by "scientists" that were funded by the IPCC politicians, If you don't see a fundamental problem with that I have a bridge for you. CO2 makes up about .004% ot the atmosphere. Even if you doubled it, you most likely could not measure the effect. Man makes up....well they have no real clue, but estimate that man makes up .16 of the .004...this can barely be measured. It does't even pass the most basic "smell" test. Alos, the oceans hold 75% of the earth's CO2. If the earth was warming and CO2 the cause, then there would be a non-stop cycle of warming. As the oceans warm they release more CO2, then more warming , then more CO2...it could never be stopped. AS the earth has warmed, and cooled before, we know for a FACT that CO2 is not the cause. it warmed until 1940, then cooled until 1975 (next ice age) then warmed until 1998. It has not warmed since! THis should be impossible with India and China producing so much CO2. STOP this AGW madness! It is a COMPLETE HOAX and so id Gore!!!!

    You know "Voter at Large", I bet Happer believes that the world is flat too...you want to get on board with him on that one? WAKE UP PLEASE! This is not an issue to quibble over; the bottomline is that we are the cause of an egregious degradation to this planet's ecosystem, that's a fact. What's most tragic about your stance is that it's obviously partisan and there's simply no room for that type of regressive thinking regarding this issue. I hope that people so adamantly averse to the acceptance of this very bleak reality wake up and act to help the situation before it's too late.

      Happer's life long service to the Scientific Community and Government as a Physicist are beyond question, unlike that Crackpot Hansen (there is a reason why NASA had to revise and correct his reported temperature data, because it was full of errors).

      I would recomend you do some research on your own regarding the facts instead of blindly tossing comments about a complicated subject you obviously know very kittle of. Better yet start slow, check into Happer's credentials, and wake up. Better yet, keep reading NEWSWEEK.

      The history of the planet is what it is, (WEATHER) we like it or not. Gore's version of Climate Change is a fraud and this article is a hack job of opinion promting an agenda and not talking about valid science adn policy. Its a good thing we have solar panels though, given the ramping up of solar radiation in the modern age.

    Al Gore may have come to the conclusion that in order to complete any progress, it must be accomplished outside the undermining arena of american politics. Too many hands in the pie, back stabbers and greed mongers must be satisfied before any progress can be seen. By that time, the efforts are so diluted that any accomplishments seem more like business as usual than viable progress. Whatever direction Mr. Gore travels he will always be representing the United States ..... whether the Washington arm twisters like it or not. If he avoids political aspirations, he also avoids their influence.

    Gore's version of carbon driven climate chage is total nonsense. The real question is what will happen when the natural Earth cycles do what they normally do and agriculture and shipping of food and goods begins to falter in large scale. Trading carbon will make NO DIFFERENCE.

    Al Gore and the Clinton team fired Happer soon after, there's no room for the truth in politics. Al Gore has fed at the tax payers and lobbiest's trough his entire life, it needs to end as soon as possible.
