Comment: pretty good explanation, Goldenah, but who is he going to nominate?
The White House is the place to battle global warming.
Comment: pretty good explanation, Goldenah, but who is he going to nominate?
Comment: al gore does not make any sense at all, whats wrong with him? is he turning against his own country?why all this hollywood and rock and roll nonsense business?did he get over the 2000 election mess or didn't he? true it was a mess he found himself in but it would have been just the same for the other guy if he would have been declared the winner! maybe he needed counseling and therapy and never got it because he at this very minute should be at the campaign trail busting his tail off trying to become president and right whatever he and many other americans think is wrong today ! today and not 2000!
Comment: Al Gore already became president. We were just too stupid to accept the results of something good. I thought he would run this time (Edwards would've been an excellent VP for Gore). But who'd want to clean up this mess anyway?
Comment: In 2000, Tennessee did NOT vote for Al Gore. End of story.
If he ran, Al Gore would have to debate the theory of Anthropomorphic Global Warming, and the hysteria behind it is propelling him to be the world's first Green (Con Artist) billionaire. He's got a sweet deal going on. Why blow it?
Comment: Why is it people are so incredibly ignorant until it is too late?
Comment: Yes! Yes! Yes! We need Al Gore!
Comment: Donnie,
I noticed you ignored all the FACTS that were ated and used to support the conclusions. Typical lib, ignore the facts, never let them get in the way of your story line.
Second, you completely ignore the difference between "climate change" and Anthropogenic Global Warming. "Climate change does in fact happen, and will continue to do so. Anthropogenic Global Warming is a HOAX...screaming to the rooftops as you appear to be tone deaf.
Comment: when you're in northern Texas and standing in water up to your buttocks---don't call for help we'll need an Ark to reach you.....
Comment: Actually, at the moment we're at somewhat of a shallow sea level historically, with them gently and gradually rising ever since the last ice Age ended about 12,000 years ago (when the glaciers melted or began melting). The seas will / would likely continue to rise all on their own as part of the normal Ice age to non-Ice Age and back cycle of things. During the last inter-glacial period ( the "generally warm" years just like now) between the last Ice Age and the one that was before it, the seas were 100 or 200 feet deeper than now. So, given the reality about the Earth's history, how do you determine what normal is? Isn't the idea of a static comfy people friendly climate really an illusion, and change is the norm?
The only thing "Inconvient" is we happen to be alive a time when the Earth is doing what it normally does (just like the Mini Ice Age and other times when the Climate was very people non-friendly.
We may have helped "some" with fossil fuels, but the bigger and more inmportant issue is NOTHING promised by "Carbon Trading and reduction" is going to alter the climate we have to live with and adapt to for as far out as anyone cares to imagine. Its time we separated Disney like Gore fantasy from Earth science.
Comment: More that that, I am sure that Algore has a score to settle with the American people. They dumped him in 2000 and the grudge he feels over that is the fuel that powers his global warming scheme. The campaign against carbon dioxide is Algore's effort to destroy the U.S. based on faulty science. I am fearful that the tactic is working. People all over the world are turning into head-nodding Climate Zombies over this issue.
Comment: Agreed. I contend that the Algore will be remembered in history as the laughing-stock of the early 21st Century. I fully intend tostick around long enough to see this come about.
Comment: Such a shame that the Right Wing noise machine has decided to firebomb this thread. I was hoping for intelligent discourse. Instead, all that's here is mindless drivel. They've at least made it clear that that Al Gore strikes terror into the hearts of Right Wing Nutcases everywhere...
Summary:
Climate Change is a HOAX (note the capital letters, SCREAM it to teh mooon)!
Al Gore pollutes more than 500 other people (500? why not 5000. Yeah, that's it... 5000)!
Ok, Climate Change is not a hoax, but it's cyclical
Never mind cyclical, it's the sun (it sure warms me up when I'm outside... where's my beer?)
Al Gore Can't win
Al Gore could win, but he didn't before and isn't running... he's a such a looooser!
Anyway, Al Gore should not run even if he could win because it's a waste of time.. Democracy is Dead!
STOP the AGW madness! It's a COMPLETE HOAX... how will I be able to drive my SUV? (rinse, repeat).
Got anything intelligent to say? No? Thought so.
The world needs Al Gore. Let's give him what he needs... a mandate from the people. If you read The Assault on Reason, it's clear that he's realized that the practice of politics needs fundamental change in the USA. That change can only come from the participation of the masses... an informed, intelligent public. Thank you Michael Hirsh for being a part of the 4th estate.
Comment: Well Donnie, Part 1: I offered a few verifiable facts RE historic CO2 for folks to chew on, I got the same partisan tripe any gets when they raise an objection to the narrow minded scope of Gore's CO2 mantra. I'm neither Right or Left, quite frankly I think both are more or less useless media driven (fabricated) extremes to keep the truth in this and other debates off kilter. You might also note that I didnt "deny" climate change, only raise an objection tot he Gore style "original sin" American Guilt manipulation of popular opinion as a control mechanism to raise taxes and costs on business. The entire carbon trading scheme is laughable. Any reasonable thinking person can see the Climate is changing, most reasonable thinking people can also small a rat too. For example quoting Alan Greenspan from here: http://businessandmedia.org/specialreports/2007/toptenmyths/mediamyths.asp
Quote:
Former Federal Reserve Chairman Alan Greenspan warned about the cost of another carbon scheme ??? carbon caps ??? in his book, ???The Age of Turbulence???:
???There is not effective way to meaningfully reduce emissions without negatively impacting a large part of the economy. Net, it is a tax. If the cap is low enough to make a meaningful inroad into CO2 emissions, permits will become expensive and large numbers of companies will experience cost increases that make them less competitive. Jobs will be lost and real incomes of workers constrained,??? wrote Greenspan.
End quote.
Comment: Well Donnie, Part 2: We cold ask Gore what he knows about HAARP boiling the atmosphere, or Project Argus manipulating the Ionosphere, he was ground zero for much of the DOD research funding and black box reports for how long? How many times reelected to Congress? What key secretive Defense related committees did he set on? The military has been jacking the Earth's Van Allen belts for decades in one way of another, and also clearly Solar cycles have ALWAYS driven climate cycles. We could also talk about the media fabricated hoax of El Nino winds being Global Warming influenced, when we who care about the facts know the undersea volcanoes drive the Pacific currents more than anything. We could talk about the total inadequacy of the atmospheric climate models as they dont couple to the oceans in any meaningful way (you can see for yourself what Woods Hole says about the models be wholly inadequate or accurate in modeling the fine grain dynamic data). We could also talk about while Gore and his "camp of scam artists" talk about a percentage move of CO2 on the atmosphere in the range of 0.0065% (read that as around 7/1000ths of 1 percent), while also everyone knows the major "global warning gas" is water vapor and its quantities dwarf any real consideration of CO2. We might also point to the models above are juvenile in their ability to accurately model water related vapor and cloud cover formation. We could also talk about the Max Plank Institute coming out with new research indicated the cloud cover formation in the atmosphere is also impacted by solar radiation and the resulting impacts of the atmospheric particles by way of the very same Van Allen be4lsts we've been meddling wiht as mention above. We might also suggest that wiht Gore's decades of hi level clearance he knows all this, yet conveniently ignores is. We could tale about Gore's "Lack of Reason" book, yet if we consider his slanted view of certain history and his total omission of facts related to his 're-invention' of history, its more or less laughable.
But we wont, because this isn't a debate about facts, its a hoax of a fabricated discussion to play a classic bait and switch game. I would also point out that while you "complained" about objections, and called folks names, you also offered nothing coherent to the conversation. Typical tactic when nothing of value to offer.
Comment: Gore cannot run if he still wants to preach his AGW HOAX. AGW is a complete HOAX. Hirsh cannot even get his facts straight, Australia did NOT sign the ridiculous Kyoto treaty. He saw it for what it was/is, global redistribution of wealth. First, the IPCC was writthen by so called "scientists" with just enough "scientific" information to make it appear crdible. It was written by "scientists" that were funded by the IPCC politicians, If you don't see a fundamental problem with that I have a bridge for you. CO2 makes up about .004% ot the atmosphere. Even if you doubled it, you most likely could not measure the effect. Man makes up....well they have no real clue, but estimate that man makes up .16 of the .004...this can barely be measured. It does't even pass the most basic "smell" test. Alos, the oceans hold 75% of the earth's CO2. If the earth was warming and CO2 the cause, then there would be a non-stop cycle of warming. As the oceans warm they release more CO2, then more warming , then more CO2...it could never be stopped. AS the earth has warmed, and cooled before, we know for a FACT that CO2 is not the cause. it warmed until 1940, then cooled until 1975 (next ice age) then warmed until 1998. It has not warmed since! THis should be impossible with India and China producing so much CO2. STOP this AGW madness! It is a COMPLETE HOAX and so id Gore!!!!
Comment: CMON People!! Wake up!
I was always wondering in the back of my mind what Gore was up to with this schtik about global warming. Why him? Why is he so vociferous about the issue? Notice how he just turns on that charm for the AUDaudiences to SUC
Comment: Mr. Hirsh,
Al Gore has made millions off of his global warming schtick, why would he want to be President when his current racket is making bank? Remember, this is the same politician that took a six car motorcade to give a speech on the dangers of the combustion engine.
Comment: Do you know that 80% of the world's capital is owned by 12 families. They already run the world through organizations like the Paris Club; who inturn fund the IMF and World Bank. Look at the power oil companies have on the world. You are confusing conspiracy with reality. But thank you for your commentary EUB. http://en.wikipedia.org/wiki/Taft_family-If you go to this website or url, you will notice the development of the Taft family one of the most poweful families in America. Along with a few other families, they were able to establish a number of fraternities which contorl both parties political machinery.
Comment: Remember, that George Bush is a Russel Trust member. Research the
Astor Bundy, Collins, DuPont , Freeman, Kennedy Li Onassis Reynolds Rockefeller Rothschild
Russell Van Duyn families.
Bush's fraternity now dominates his administration. You will find no matter who is in power, these fraternities are represented by a family member in any administration CAN ANY of these Candidates Bring these fraternal orders together in order to improve the LIVES OF ALL AMERICANS.
Comment: The Mormon president Ezra Taft Benson (considered a prophet by Mormons) was a fan of the John Birch Society. The Taft is Heusen???s name is because Ezra Taft Benson is a descendent of Alphonso Taft, who along with one of the Russell family started the Order of the Skull and Bones (legally it has been known as Russell Trust). Remember, that . Research the

"There are many reasons Mormons will not come forth even though they know of the corruption in the Mormon church. One is due to their belief in Mormon scripture which they associate with the Mormon church. The leadership has usurped power and authority over this scripture. Thus, the members of the Mormon church think that God expects them to support their misguided leaders. This is much the - rationalization that many Americans make about our government. They all know of the corruption, but rationalize that it is unpatriotic to talk against the government or ungrateful to complain when they enjoy superficial prosperity."
Comment: You know "Voter at Large", I bet Happer believes that the world is flat too...you want to get on board with him on that one? WAKE UP PLEASE! This is not an issue to quibble over; the bottomline is that we are the cause of an egregious degradation to this planet's ecosystem, that's a fact. What's most tragic about your stance is that it's obviously partisan and there's simply no room for that type of regressive thinking regarding this issue. I hope that people so adamantly averse to the acceptance of this very bleak reality wake up and act to help the situation before it's too late.
Comment: Happer's life long service to the Scientific Community and Government as a Physicist are beyond question, unlike that Crackpot Hansen (there is a reason why NASA had to revise and correct his reported temperature data, because it was full of errors).
I would recomend you do some research on your own regarding the facts instead of blindly tossing comments about a complicated subject you obviously know very kittle of. Better yet start slow, check into Happer's credentials, and wake up. Better yet, keep reading NEWSWEEK.
The history of the planet is what it is, (WEATHER) we like it or not. Gore's version of Climate Change is a fraud and this article is a hack job of opinion promting an agenda and not talking about valid science adn policy. Its a good thing we have solar panels though, given the ramping up of solar radiation in the modern age.
Comment: Al Gore may have come to the conclusion that in order to complete any progress, it must be accomplished outside the undermining arena of american politics. Too many hands in the pie, back stabbers and greed mongers must be satisfied before any progress can be seen. By that time, the efforts are so diluted that any accomplishments seem more like business as usual than viable progress. Whatever direction Mr. Gore travels he will always be representing the United States ..... whether the Washington arm twisters like it or not. If he avoids political aspirations, he also avoids their influence.

Comment: Gore's version of carbon driven climate chage is total nonsense. The real question is what will happen when the natural Earth cycles do what they normally do and agriculture and shipping of food and goods begins to falter in large scale. Trading carbon will make NO DIFFERENCE.
Quoting from: http://sciencepolicy.colorado.edu/admin/publication_files/resource-1935-2004.27.pdf
Regarding testimony before Congress:
On Monday, April 26, 1993, Happer testified before the House Subcommittee on Energy and Water Development on DOE research. Happer declared that better scientific evidence on climate change is needed before taking action. Happer stated:
???When I look at the geological history over the last 600 million years where we have pretty good data??? over most of that period of time, the amount of carbon dioxide in the air has been twice, five times, ten times, even 20 times what it is now. So this is an unusual time in the earth's history. We have very little CO2. I personally believe that we need to take these things seriously, but I don't believe we should panic. I think we should act on the basis of fact."
Al Gore and the Clinton team fired Happer soon after, there's no room for the truth in politics. Al Gore has fed at the tax payers and lobbiest's trough his entire life, it needs to end as soon as possible.
Comment: I would vote for Gore solely based upon his environmental principles. I believe the environment is the single largest issue humanity is facing.

Comment: HAS ANYONE READ THE ROLLING STONE INTERVIEW IN THE OCTOBER 2007 WITH JAMES LOVELOCK. GOOGLE TO JAMES LOVELOCK IN ROLLING STONE. THIS SCIENTIST HAS A POINT AND HE'S NOT RUNNING FOR OFFICE......GORE SHOULD NOT WASTE HIS TIME RUNNING FOR OFFICE, DEMOCRACY IN AMERICA IS DEAD! BUT IT IS STILL THE BEST GOVERNMENT MONEY CAN BUY!
Comment: HAS ANYBODY READ THE INTERVIEW IN THE OCTOBER 2007 ISSUE OF ROLLING STONE WITH JAMES LOVELOCK? YOU CAN FIND COMMENTS ABOUT GLOBAL WARMING FROM THIS SCIENTIST ON-LINE BY A GOGGLE SEARCH TO JAMES LOCKLOCK IN ROLLING STONE. HE'S NOT RUNNING FOR OFFICE........
Comment: Al Gore is a pompous buffoon. Any other Democrat would have won the 2000 election by an landslide against Bush. The fact that Gore came as close as he did speaks not so much to him and to the ineptitude of Bush.
Comment: Al Gore is a pompous, self righteous buffoon. Any Democrat other than Gore would have won the 2000 election again Bush hands down.
Comment: This is exactly the reason i cancelled my newsweek sub 8 years ago what aload of crap and liberal bias towards this jerk.Global warming is junk science and anybody that says its manmade went a u.s. government school where they teach no science anymore.Warming is caused by incresed solar flares and thats it.@0 years from now and trillions of dollars wasted we will figure it out.By the way newsweek where is your picture of the ice berg and coming ice age on your cover from 1975.Prediction newsweek ccver 2020 Global warming was a hoax caused by George Bush!.
Comment: Gore should not run for president. He is much more effective dealing with the world wide problem of global warming.
Comment: Gore should not run for president. Were he to become president, the energy he has to tackle this worldwide problem would be siphoned off into the job of being the president of a nation beset by woes that are going to take a lot of congressional cooperation to fix. Congressional cooperation is a pipe dream in a two party system where getting re-elected is uppermost in the congressional mind.
Comment: If Gore ran, human-caused climate change would end up being debated on the science, not propaganda, and he would look like a fool.
Comment: Reading through many Blogs with global warming as an issue, it is noticable that there are many who seem to think that global warming is a hoax. At this juncture it is a little disturbing to note that the truth is not being stated with enough emphasis, or there are simply many people who refuse to accept change, more likely. There are of course factors involved in global warming other than human activitives. Human activities are merely the proverbial "straw that broke the camels back." More reason to make changes in an orderly and systematic fashion. The past geologic record shows what can and has happened. Hopefully in the present the worst can be avoided.
Comment: A few months ago supporters asked Al Gore to run this time. It didn't seem like the timing was right and not against Hillary Clinton. Indicators show that he is still needed in the arena of protocol with a freedom that being in an official position might hinder. However, in four more years the stage should be set for Gore to at last, step into the role of making the changes to the industrial complex of the United States from the highest political office and by then the Congress will be behind him. We look forward to seeing Al Goreint he White House and his supporters need to gather the supplies and voters for that election, make it a clean sweep. Thank you.
Comment: what al gore has done is admirable, to be sure, but how much of his influence in the world is because he is no longer a politician? We know that he is very dedicated to his cause because he has no other ambitions, like running for president, in mind. Running for president would change his image from a well meaning, moral global citizen to a politician fighting bitterly for votes and support. If he announced his candidacy, he would lose the support of many citizens who would think of him as 'just another cunning politician' again. While it would be very important to have an environmentalist president of the US, he is no the guy to do it. Let him continue his good work, and perhaps teach more politicians about his views so that they could continue his work in the white house.

Comment: Again I read what I feel to be baffling. Al Gore the anti-Christ. Please The Christ and anti-Christ is in everyone one of us each time we make a decision. Who's to say your not the anti-Christ by pushing a non reasoned argument? Al Gore is fighting for the planet against those who would have him killed - he can't change the world he is only try and wake us up to. Save energy, reduce our carbon footprint, bring to light the large issues that need to be addressed like my country the United States of America blocking signing a global accord? The only lie is that we are beyond hope. Our plant is cyclical it will fix itself through us nurturing it it or us dying from it fixing itself. Again do some research, watch the history channel or something. The planet has existed for millions of years and been through this before. If we don't take care of it it will take care of us, in a pretty pissed off way.
Comment: isn't al gore the anti-...?
Comment: gore is a joke, who wants revenge on our country and will try to bilk us out of tax dollars using his fallacious twist on SOLAR WARMING. that is why he's not running....because he knows that people as dumb as michael hirsh don't number enough to get him elected
Comment: Al would never run again. HE knows he has no chance to win and it would only cost him the money he has made on this global warming farce. Anyone that has looked at the facts understands it is all a lie and scheme to redistribute the funds of the middle class so that there will only be a world of the rich and poor. FOllow the money and it leads right back to gore since he has made millions on this outright bold face lie called global warming. IT IS THE SUN warming the planet and anyone with a half ounce of common intelligence understands it. AL Gore is making millions on this lie and should be jailed for fraud!
Comment: It's my theory that Al Gore IS running for President. It may well be that Gore has figured out a way to get around the money politics practiced by all the other candidates in both parties. He has used his book and the Internet to keep himself in the public eye all the while avoiding the interpersonal attacks that are de rigeur when running a modern conventional campaign.
I believe he is waiting to see how the primary process plays out. For the first time in decades, the game has changed radically. With all of the states that have moved their primaries forward, we have an incredibly compressed campaign season and the very real possibility that none of the major Democrats wil get enough of the votes to lock up the candidacy. Should that happen, we could actually have a meaningful and decisive convention. In that environment, I wouldn't want to be Obama, Clinton or Edwards facing a "draft Gore" campaign.
And, no, he would not lose again. George W. Bush has seen to that.
Comment: Because he would lose, again. A canidate who fails to carry his home state deserves to lose. President Bush, 04 , elected again, 60,000,000 popular votes, enough said.
Comment: The Clinton campaign has nothing to worry about. Al Gore will never enter race. Why? Because he would actually have to debate the substance of his arguments on global warming and its mitigation. not going to happen.
Comment: oops, pardon the repeat, web problems...
Comment: Congratulations PinPoint, you have summarized the Clinton-Clinton campaign effort to "T." People who don't leave their home, study issues, think for themselves usually do end up preferring the "abolishment of the climate." Reverting hundreds of years of progress should as well be avoided. It truly does warm me (and not in the global sense) how well informed the Clinton-Clinton camp is compared to the simplistically formulaterd other camp. We live in interesting times.

Comment: Am I seriouslly reading these comments. Do you leave your home, study issues, think for yourself? Its funny how much hate and animosity goes into responces when dealing with politics. Let me address a couple issues. First Gore will not run again, there is not enough time. Two Hillary will take over on super tuesday. Three how ignorant can Americans be? We need a stronger, faster more efficient government. Why do you tihnk the US has fallen. We have no leadership, in our country, in our economy, in ourselvers. The abolishment of the climate, income tax, federal reserve, or social programs will not make this country great. It will only revert hundreds of years of human progress. Picture it, the wild wild west on steriods, nomads and free regin to those who disobey the law. Please wake up, think about it and pull the Clinton-Clinton ticket. We need two presidents in the white house to right these wrongs. Long live the American Dream.
Comment: After more than 15 years [1976-1992] in U.S. Congress for Tennessee and 8 more years as Vice President in a relatively good time for U.S. economy, the state of Tennessee could not ''stomach" a vote for him in 2000 presidential election which would have rendered Florida irrelevant at that time; even Georgia in 1980 tried to help Jimmy Carter in his pitiful reelection bid [won only 5 or 6 states]based on a nice principle that "he's stupid, but is our stupid''. Who is going to vote for him now? Oscar ,U.N. and Nobel Prize Committees might ,but won't bring him too many electoral votes! Best bet for him : make an alliance with Sean Penn , Alec Baldwin et .co. go to Venezuela and help Chavez to build socialism there!
Comment: Since the presidency won't (and cannot) happen for Mr. Gore, the only way to regain political power is by leading a crusade. One problem though, when dealing with such an enormous issue as climate change, and desiring to be at the helm of policies that will seriously cripple if not kill the world economy, you'd better be damned sure you're correct. Since Mr. Gore chooses to simply dismiss those scientists that disagree with him out of hand without debate or dialogue, as well as personally consuming more fossil fuel than any 500 americans, it's obvious he's in it only for the potential political power. The crusade continues...
Comment: Mr. Gore is not running in '08 for the very reason he would most likely get wupped again. Come on, America doesn't need another condescending windbag. Gore himself cannot and will not debate renown scientists concerning their challenges to his assertions about the causes of global climate change. He will continue to insulate himself from direct challenge because he knows no one at will listen to him anymore when he gets his genitals handed to him on a platter again.
Comment: AlGore is not running for one simple reason: he would have to defend manmade global warming. This he can???t prove and his hoax would unravel as scientist after scientist comes forward to debunk his hoax. Do they take away Nobel prizes if voodoo science, like steroids in the Olympics, was the basis of the accomplishment? Sadly; probably not.
Comment: AlGore is not running for one simple reason: he would have to defend manmade global warming. This he can???t prove and his hoax would unravel as scientist after scientist comes forward to debunk his hoax.
Comment: Newsweek's Mr. Hirsh is incredible. Poor guy doesn't have a clue. A couple of months ago, in a commentary on doing a cut and run in Iraq, Mr. Hirsh made a comparative statement on how "Our leaving Vietnam and eliminating support for S. Vietnam had no negative consequences". This clueless writer was inundated with comments reminding (educating?) him about "Boat People", Pol Pot, Khmer Rouge, killing fields, and Vietnamese re-education camps. Now this guy talks about Al Gore running for President. Yes please, Al, run for President. I am sure you could then get a legitimate pass for using all the electricity, oil, and everything else it takes for supporting your luxurious lifestyle. Certainly the MSM press would give you a pass on critical reporting, as they do for most Democrats, so your prognostications would not be something that you would be held accountable for. On the other hand, I do get some personal encouragement from Mr. Hirsh's writing; As a Republican I think we conservatives have lost our way, and need to clean-up, and shape-up our party; It will take a while and the 2008 election is coming soon, so I have all but gotten used to the idea of living with Hillery in the White House. But if Al runs... the Republicans would be a shoo-in... Maybe Mr. Hirsh is a closet conservative?
Comment: Mr. Gore suffered a nervous breakdown following his election defeat in 2000. He is under regular psychiatric care and has a fragile mental condition that could not bear the stress of another election. Oh, and yes, the Nobel Prize committee gave an award to a complete loon.
Comment: RIGHT ON. Let the truth be told!
Comment: The author of the article should go back to journalism school for a refresher course in fact checking. Australia is not signatory to Kyoto because their new PM was given a few facts by people in his government as to the total destruction it would mean for Australia's economy to abide by the terms of the Protocol. Typical "Lib"; dont let the facts get in the way of a good story.
Comment: I will AWAYS believe that AL GORE WON in 2000- and we wouldn't be in this mess if king george and his court jesters didn't ramrod the country. They've had their shot and have blown it BIG TIME! It's time for CHANGE and PROGRESS!
Comment: The author of this article should have checked the facts before putting pen to paper. Australia was going to become signatory to Kyoto Protocol until their PM found out from advisors in his government just exactly what the cost would be in terms of destroying Australias economy . Typical "Lib" don't let facts get in the way of a "good" story.
Comment: Mr. Gore would risk exposing his man made Global Warming hoax; could never win the debate, not even with a continued Newsweek marketing campaign to support. That is why he will not run for president, he would lose.
BTW Newsweek, I'm still waiting for the article highlighting scientists AND THEIR EVIDENCE contradicting claims of global warming and the remedies suggested.
Comment: Not enough assurance he can win the election but what he doesn't know is that he's the only qualified candidate that can run and stir the country. He has the experience and the expertise.
Comment: Not enough assurance that he can win this election is whats on his mind but what he doesn't know is that there is nobody out there that can run and stir the country like he can. He has the experience and the expertise for the position.
Comment: I'm glad Gore didn't win in 2000. Just think what this country would be like. Bin Laden would need a permit to fly the planes into the towers cause of the fumes in the air wouldn't meet Gores green house standards. Gore would give bin laden his permit anyway cause he would be from a lesser developed country. All the while he flys his privite jet around and causes more problems. Buying carbon tonnage is a joke, what happens if everybody does that and the air fills up twice as fast? Wake up America and smell the Roses before you democrats ruin this country forever, and the American people will pay though the nose in taxes to SUPPORT their garabage. Hillary and her health care is the biggest expense joke, in the long run the middle class will get hit with baling this country out like it has when Billy was Prez.
Comment: Gore DID win in 2000- The Gestapo tactics of the current "king" and his court prevented what the people called for. You arrogant gopers need to realize that there are many folks who think you've more than had your chance, and have blown it BIG-TIME!
Comment: Why is Gore not running? That's an easy one. Why take on the burden (and scrutiny) of the Presidency so long as he can make easy millions hawking junk science?
Comment: Mr Gore is not running for President because he will not win. There's no other reason than that. If he was "electable," he would have beaten Bush the first time around in 2000.
He is not running just like John Kerry is not running.
Comment: Gore is making to much money to run for president. Global warming is about saving the planet but nothing will be done by the US until all the money problems have been worked out. We have the technology to change a lot of things, but how do those who can change them get richer? Until that problem is solved the only changes will be small, made at grass root levels. Anybody know how poor people can put solar panels on rental roof tops?
Comment: Mr. Gore needs a paying gig. Just in case you were unaware, besides the monies received from the movie, AIT, all speech and Slide Show presentations, the money from becoming a partner with the Silicone Valley V C firm and the money he received for his Nobel Peace Prize is all DONATED to The Alliance for Climate PRotection. And, the Gor'es just matched the Nobel Award for a year end personal contribution to the Alliance.
Mr. Gore is definitely smart and visionary, where he is successful, but most money he receives he is putting to saving all of our collective butts.
Superman wears Al Gore pajamas.
Comment: Gore is not running because he knows how politics works. They love you today, hate you tomorrow. After being on such a high why would Gore ever want to come down to a Presedential race. Although he was not elected he can take comfort in the fact that the American people regret "ridiculing him". I guess his Math was not that FUZZY AFTER ALL.
Comment: I don't think this country is ready yet to elect a president on an environmental issue. As we all know, first he won't get elected, even if he does (big if), Republicans will tear him apart, stalls Senate and Congress and very little will be in his tenure. I sincerely believe that he can bring moral and ethical pressure and can do some good by not running. Staying away from day-to-day politics, he will have more leverage than as a President. All said done, let's face the Truth. America is not yet ready to acknowledge follies. We are still relishing the idea of being a consumer society.
Comment: It's too bad that Al Gore did not get elected in 2000 instead of Bush. Can you imagine how better our country would be? At this point I'm not sure that even Al Gore could restore our country to what is was before Bush.
W really made a mess of our beloved USA.
Comment: If the Democrats were smart, they would aproach Mr. Gore and ask him to be the nominee. All the polls showed he has more support than all the candidates who have been running. If the Democrats REALLY cared about the majority, than the elite few, if the Democrats cared about the party than just themselves, if they really cared about the people and our future, they will ask Al Gore to be the Democratic nominee for President of the United States. I already know many REAL Republicans who care about the environment are fully supportive of Mr. Gore, along with the Greens, Inde's Liberals, Progressives and true blue Democrats.
So, isn't it up to them? Mr. Gore after all has said even this year that he would love to be President. A visionary, unmatchable experienced intellect Statesman that has a vision to make the path that we walk to create a better place for all.
As he recently asked, I am keeping my energy in a lock box that only he has a key for. It's up to the Democrats if they will place the betterr for the many, before the want of the few and really make history. Have the World's Leader be America's President.

Comment: THe only thing Gore could lead would be his hand to his *** while he masterbates. The guy is an idiot. HE has no place in the political arena. I challenge him to a debate on this global warming lie. Just follow the money and you will see he has made millions on his lie about global warming. Great scheme but the cat is out of the bag and he should be jaile for fraud. IN closing Al Gore could screw up a one car funeral. The guy is a baffoon.
