I am glad that Newsweek gave him a forum. Mr. Obama is completely correct in desiring to talk t other leaders. Unfortunately, our chattering classes often equate dialog with agreement, which is not true. But in giving even tyrants space to air their views, Newsweek is performing a signal service. It is precisely the point of why Iran needs to come clean with the nuclear issue pertaining to refyning of uranium to build nuclear weapon. What is the fear of revealing the truth of its intention behind weaponizing with nuclear arsenal? If Mr. Ahmadinijad is so confident that it is not building such weapon, he just needs the IAEA and other international inspector to go and inspect its nuclear sites such as Natanz reactor and few other of sorts. He does not go underground to conceal its research and development in nuclear weapons. That being the case and the situation in Iraq causes for concern of Iranian behavior towards the American forces there and helping the insurgents to produce IED's to kill the Americans and the Iraqi people. If he is so sanguin about the fault of the United States, he needs to look to his own behavior. He and his regime are funding the hizbollah in Lebanon to destabilize the region. It is not only in Lebanon but also in the West Bank by supporting the Hamas with Financial and weapons to destabilize the entire region.
The world community has a shared value that It (Iran) does not become a threat to the world community by inciting and inflicting such fear and terror in the Middle East.
Ahamadinijad and his regime must be serious in the development of its own country by giving an internal freedom to its people. All you have said here are rhetoric and nothing else. You must comply with the U.N security council and IAEA about your nuclear activities. Than, you will see that the United States and the world will embrace you and your country whole heartedly among the union of nations.

Ahmadinejad has substantial reasons for criticising the White House's policies. The US-Middle East conflict stretches decades back. History matters to these Islamic ppl, it is what shapes their present plight. President Bush has made a mess of America's foreign policies. Relations with rising nations abroad are cool for the time being, but are bordering precariously. the world could only hope that the next US president would not be bound by ideology and work with reality instead.
