my having breast implants was not to look younger but to make me feel more feminine, during my 34 years of marriage and raising 5 children I was never comfortable with my body and would do anygthing I could not to wear certain clothes such as a swim suit . My husband finally suggested it after we happened tio find a great plastic sergion that took care of one of our kids after a very serious car accident, To this day I thank that doctor for all he has done,. If someone wants ti feel better about themself why not. go for it but be sure to find the right physician.

I wonder if it's not so much that women can't deal with natural aging and not looking like they're 20 anymore, but maybe their men can't deal with it. When men typically go through their mid-life crisis in their 40s, they dump their wives for younger women. I think sometimes women feel they must continue to look young, pretty and sexy after 40 and children if they want to keep their husband's attention.

Due to medical reasons such as bra indentatiions, upper and lower back pain, and being too short for the amount of breast I have grown over the years, I had mines down on 9/15/06. Please do not get me wrong, I felt like my chest was falling off the 1st week and it hard like hell to drive after my 2 weeks were up. I am truly grateful to my doctor, Dr Jamie Flores, M.D. in Maryland for doing such an excellent job. I was originally a 40F and he took me down to a 40C. I love my; breast size and the lift that I was given. If I had to do all over again, I would do it if it helps me in the long run. Thank you Dr Flores for changing my life.

My wife went to bangkok and had augmentation plus liposuction, not only did it improve her self esteem but she had a great vacation. The medical care was better that the US and the total cost was $4000 including her airfare and hotel stay. It was worth every penny!!!

I can understand the rationale if your boobs are hitting your knees, then yes, get them "picked up". Can be disheartning to think that you have to contend with the sag......

In my opinion, if women want to do it then go ahead. But don't make it sound like having smaller breasts should be looked down upon. People who keep saying Me, Me, Me, I did it for Me... well, that's great for you but it doesn't help other women who are small breasted. Women should be appreciated no matter their size, and they should have the self-esteem to be able to love their breasts, no matter the size.

The opinion of men on this forum is very interesting but some sound like breast-obsessed pervs. gross..

The only way to breast feed after augmentation is if the implant is placed under the muscle of the breast. What is this county's obsession for faux fertility? Women try to come off as this fertile creature with implants, but cannot use the things that were specifically made to feed babies.

I had natural big breasts to begin with throughout life. Due to my height, bra indentation, and upper and lower back problems, I had to get a breast reduction. My plastic surgeon took me from a 40F to a 40C. He changed my life and gave me a new one. I have only marks where I was cut under my breast and of course, you can see where my doctor reattached my nipple after repositioning it if you get up close. I love the way my breasts look now and how I have a lift also with it. Thank you God for Dr. Jaime Flores in Maryland.

And men wonder why we have such a horrid reputation when it comes to women. As a man, father, husband and grandfather I am appalled at your stupidity. Take your little manhood to the many porn sites you must hang out at and get off on writing to the "real" women you meet there.

As a survivor of breast cancer I would just caution women with implants to be very vigilant when it comes to their breasts. The American Cancer Society website does say that "Implants make it harder to see breast tissue on standard mammograms" Be aware that there are additional x-ray pictures called implant displacement views which can be used to more completely examine the breast tissue. Breast cancer at age 43 was a shock and a hellish ordeal. I just suggest that a woman investigate any non-detection risk factors before having surgery to be sure you are willing to take on any possible risk. If you are satisfed and go ahead with the surgery ... just be vigilant. No one expects to be the next statistic ... at age 43, I sure didn't. I learned one very important thing through my bout with breast cancer (which I already knew). Women are worth alot more than the size of their breasts!!

Americans are so self absorbed. Just another example of wanting quick fixes for everything. Your breast were meant for breastfeeding. I don't understand why anyone would want to subject themselves to unecessary surgery simply for vanity. Most of all, having bigger breast do has nothing to do with making you "look younger" more than likely if your husbands wanted nicer breast he'd would probably have an affair with some twenty year old blonde that doesn't need plastic surgery. Women why do we subject ourselves to all this nonsense!

I dont really think that implants make a woman any more attractive. An older beautiful woman is just as attractive with smaller breasts. rey_21@Hotmail.com

Any woman that has surgery for any reason other than medically needed due to pain, etc is being vain. Lord forbid to be happy as you are. What kinda message do we send our young boys and girls about self image? If things get tough, get a divorce. Don't like how you look, pay someone to change it. We already have young girls going out barely dressed with words on the seat of their shorts and their parents don't think anything about it. Shame on you all!

Don't be fooled. Implants may look good, but they don't feel right - very hard. Also, women may lose some or a lot of the sensitivity in their nipples.

Implants may not be all that you think. They can feel un-naturally hard. Women may lose some sensation in their nipples after the surgery. As a man in my 40's, I find myself appreciating women my age or older who have laugh lines, wrinkles and other imperfections. In the end, it's all how you wear it. Confidence will win out. You can be sexy without showing skin or dressing like a teenager.

Diagnosed with a very serious case of breast cancer at age 43, I have great concerns about breast augumentation. I found my own lump and would likely not have done so until the cancer was much further along if I had implants. Even though I was able to feel the lump and it was cancerous, it didn't show up on a mammogram and ultrasound was inconclusive as well. Though I have never undertaken an extensive study involving implants and detection of breast cancer, the American Cancer Society website does say that "Implants make it harder to see breast tissue on standard mammograms". Each woman must assess all risk factors in regard to cancer, but having gone through my ordeal, I would never take the chance. I simply encourage anyone with implants to be especially vigilant and would caution anyone considering implants to at least check out possible risk factors and be certain you are OK with the possible increased risk of non-detection via mammogram. Just be sure you've done your homework and are satisfied with the answers. After my experience I can tell you that no breast size is worth a life.

Im all about women improving their looks. Its the same as wearing make up. This whole "be happy with who you are" nonsense is from a false reality. Everybody likes to look nice and some are willing to take further steps to obtain this. I commend women who go the extra step to please the eye and make the financial sacrifice to bennefit all of us

    • Posted By: tkjazz86 @ 12/17/2007 5:45:46 PM

I don't have a problem with breast augmentation, but I don't underdstand how the "financial sacrifice" benefits someone else.
