Mommy Wants Her Body Back

In 1989 I was implanted with a saline implant because of cancer. I have been diagnosed with scleroderma, pbc, sicca syndrome (sjogren's) and suffered depression since that time. Thanks for sharing about awareness. Its true there are some risks, but in my wife's case, I think she was mildly depressed because her breasts had changed so dramatically since nursing the kids. I had breast implant surgery when I was 36 to get my body back after nursing two kids. 18 years later, I had them removed after being diagnosed with Lupus, Sjogrens syndrome and autoimmune thyroid disease. One of my friends has three children who were affected by her grossly failed breast implants. . . The youngest, is experiencing horrific pain . . . She has scleroderma from head to foot . . . at 16, she has the hands and feet of a 12-month old. A white child, she had brown skin. Her skin splits and bleeds. She has been poked, prodded and examined by the best doctors around. But there absolutely nothing they can do for her, except to prescibe pain medication. She refuses it because she wants her mind to be clear. She deals with the pain through prayer. Meanwhile her mother has multiple brain leisons from Multiple Sclerosis and is in terrible pain herself. . .
