Comment: Get serious! Thes "tapes" have hundreds of hours of torture and CIA "interrogations"; do you think there are not pages of transcriptions of what was said? Do you think the spook handlers are going to watch hundreds of hours of "tape", most of which is presumably useless? All the "tapes" will reveal is the hours of essentially torture and probably the obviousiness of the "prisoners" willingness to say anything to make their tormenters stop!

Comment: who use tapes anymore? this stry is bogus from the start. Everything is on disc, memory card or digital storage.

  • Posted By: lobo666 @ 12/18/2007 10:40:02 AM

Comment: Another thing who uses tapes anymore, most recording devices use some type of dish memory card or digital recording process's. This whole stinking torture tape ffap is just some diversion from the real truth and it working real well cuz the truth is probably far worse.

Comment: What bugs me is that the gov duplictes everything and the spook squads are no different. Somewhere in spookville their are copies of those tapes and it will take some doing to get them. What really rankles though is that we will never know if their were really anything of value in those tapes other than agents doing something they should not of been doing under any circumstances and trust me is not good from this bunch in the wh.

Comment: Where the CIA is concerned, what one has to do is go back into the Agency's documented history in order to understand what it does, and for whom it really works (the internatinal corporations who tell any US government what to do in order to get their political donations for future elections). In early 1963, there was a turning-point in terms of whether President Kennedy, or Fidel Castro, should be "eliminated" (assassinated). As President Kennedy continued shutting down anti-Castro Cuban/CIA-run terrorist training ccamps in New Orleans, and Miami, Florida, using FBI Informant, Lee Harvey Oswald's visits to the camps in order to locate the secret camps, when CIA "Operation 40" and Operation Mongoose people, like Porter Goss, Frank Sturgis, E. Howard Hunt, David Sanchez Morales, Ted Shackley and George H. W. Bush disocered Oswald was not just a gunrunner to the training camps, but informing the FBI of the camp locations, the CIA decided Oswald and Kennedy were easier targets than Castro.

Kennedy had ordered the pullout from Vietnam, left Castro in power in Cuba (while JFK's brother, Bobby secretly planned the assassination of Castro to rob the GOP of a political prop for the 1964 election, the CIA, backed by their close relationship with organized crime in Chicago, and turned their combined anger and guns on Kennedy, rather than Fidel Castro. Oswald's role as an FBI snitch had been discovered. He was a ready-made patsy. The CIA had made tape recordings of someone who, on tape claimed to be Lee Oswald.

After the JFK assassination, when FBI agents listened to the tapes, and, knowing Oswald as they did, said that the voice on the tape was NOT that of Lee Harvey Oswald, the CIA DESTROYED the tape when Warren Commission investigators asked the CIA for them. The CIA said it was a "regular tape-space saving practice.
Today, with all the new and very recent evidence to be found at www.jfkmurdersolved.com, with the actual picket fence shooter, James E. Files a 65 year old federal prisoner at Stateville Prison, Joliet, Illinois, there is no further need of any acceptance of the Government's lies about it's relationship with orgnized crime. That relationship has been there a very long time.

The old man is still running things. Go to actor, Bruce Willis' June, 2007 statements about who is "still alive and in power today." He said those same people killed President Kennedy. He is a Republican, and very proud of it. But, he also beleives in telling the truth. It still matters.

Comment: We need to remember two very important things:

    1. Ever sinc e the CIA, with Porter Goss as a member of the CIA's very own "Operation 40," the Nixon-George H. W. Bush-E. Howard Hunt-Frank Fiorini Sturgis-created Kill Castro Assassination Squad, when the CIA, immediately after the assassination of President John F. Kennedy, when it destroyed the "Mexico City audio tape recordings supposedly of Lee Harvey Oswald' after the FBI agents listened to it and said the VOICE WAS NOT THAT OF LEE OSWALD TRYING FOR A VISA TO GO TO CUBA, THEN RUSSIA," the CIA has continued destroying recordings of anythug that might obviate it's own criminal involvement in violence abroad, and inside the United States! The Kennedy assassination is just one s uch major incidence.

After the CIA lied to Kennedy about the chances that the Bay of Pigs invasion could succeed, and JFK boutht into their story only to face humiliation after the CIA's Brigade 2506 was destroyed or imprisoned by Castro, and Ken nedy fired the top three CIA leaders, these "leaders" then went on to cooperate with Nelson Rockefeller, George H. W. Bush, and his Texas bysiness partner, Robert Mosbacher, Governor John Connolly of Texas, and "the Queen Mary" (FBI Director, J. Edgar Hoover, and went through their Chicago mafia connections and sent Charles Nicoletti, James E. Files to Dallas, where they were joined by Lucien Sartie, in Dealey Plaza, and shot and killled Senator Ted Kennedy'[s brother, Pres. John Kennedy,

Go to website: www.jfkmurdersolved.com for more. Also, search engine: "the Pegasus tape recording of J. Edgar Hoover's FBI office phone line." It's all there.

    2. That in a country where the truth has been politcized as much as in this one, ONLY the historical TRUTH can help Americans vote to turn away from the madness that took over in December, 2000's election.

Comment: God has to be the biggest braintease in the universe. Individuals, Tin Gods"define their morality
by their situation, training and experience like the light in the "Theroy of Realitivity" Morality is bent
to the social situation. Example: the "groupthink and interaction of drivers on the freeway when the

this type of group behavior when the speed limit is posted at 65 and most drivers are going

Comment: --The officials said that Rodriguez and his close aides had been asking top agency managers for more than two years about what to do with the tapes, but felt they never got a straight answer.--

NYT's reported Rodriguez didn't care if CIA's own lawyers gave permission. He said he didn't need permission.

Comment: Our Wounded Need Your Help

While Americans debate the War in Iraq ??? many times more bitterly than intellectually ??? we have forgotten our wounded men and women who are recovering at Walter Reed Army Medical Center and other military hospitals around the Country.
Every week plane loads of seriously wounded military arrive in the United States for medical treatment and recovery ??? often staying over a year in a hospital. They arrive with few, if any, of their personal possessions. Many are amputees who make the hospital their home-away-from-home while learning to move forward with their lives with the aid of outstanding medical, physical therapy and occupational therapy staffs.
In 2003, the Angels of Mercy Program was founded to help these wounded men and women and their families. In 2004, Newman???s-Own named the Angels the best volunteer program in American supporting our military. The Program provides clothing suitable for rehabilitation, comfort items, and a broad range of support for young family members who have uprooted their lives to be with their loved ones at the hospital. We need help to keep this non-political, all volunteer program going. Our total effort is on helping those who have given so much, and letting them know their Country cares about their sacrifices.
The web site www.SupportOurWounded.org contains many background details, and suggests ways Americans can help. The Angels of Mercy Program can also be reached by phone: 703-938-8930. Our wounded need your help.

Comment: States exist to preserve and further their interests. In that regard, the U.S. is a state, and will further its interest, even if the public is unable to understand the steps that must be taken to do so. Academics are theorists whose opinions are formulated with the luxury of little or zero political or other pressure, and the public is often utopian and must vote others to represent them in matters of importance. There is no reason for it to be run any other way; indeed, to do so, it would be unimaginably dangerous.

Comment: What Bushit! It's time the government owns up to what it has done. No matter what possible wrong doing is being looked into, the Bush White House claims state secrets and demands the people back off. Since when did our government become one like Iran's? One of total control over the media and the people?

Iran and other dictator run countries may lock up anyone on any trumped up charge. Bush does the same thing. Speak out against Bush and you are declared unpatriotic. Want to silence someone? Claim enemy combatant. Want to keep the people confused as to what is going on? Claim state secrets. Warren the media they will be arrested if they disclose anything Bush wants held secret.

Enough is enough. Let the people learn just what is or was going on. If no laws were broken, so be it. But if they were, punish those that broke the law.

Comment: Today, in America, George W. Bush or any of his henchmen can simply point their finger at you, declare you an enemy combatant, and have you incarcerated indefinitely in a secret prison without charge or representation, where they have institutionalized torture and murder.

And for those Americans who think they are exempt, and don't care about foreign citizens or their rights as human beings, think again.

You may have heard the term "Habeas Corpus" tossed around a lot lately, and heard that we have lost the right to it, but do you know what that means?

It means that you no longer have the right to be brought before an impartial judge to protest your imprisonment, or provide evidence that the charges against you are false.

For example, when Bush secretly imprisons an American citizen he doesn't like he can simply say that they are an Afghani national caught on the battlefield of Iraq, even if they were actually a loyal citizen living in Boston who was illegally abducted at the mall while shopping.

And since you no longer have the right to Habeas Corpus you will never have a chance of the truth being told, and will be at the mercy of Bush's psychopathic brethren for what remains of your lives.

    Welcome to fascist America.

Comment: I'm surprised to see so many people supporting Democrats for these things. The Democrats have been disappointing since they have been in power. They haven't done enough to try and stop these activities. They endorsed further wiretapping and passed the bill. What really makes you think they are going to start pushing the other way once they get elected? I say look at their actual voting record and what issues they actually fought for while in congress instead of listening to them speak about what they will do when they are elected. I won't fall for the same trick again. Both the Democrats and the Republicans have sold the American people out for a buck. All the front runners on both sides are receiving support from the CFR (Council on Foreign Relations). They are easy to look up and read about, our front running endorse their policies including "relieving the United States of it's Sovereignty" through the delivery of the NAU (North American Union). It???s not imaginary and if you look just a little all of the information is there to confirm it.

Both sides have lost my vote, I'm voting for change this time. Ron Paul is the only candidate who will make the serious changes needed and isn't beholden to ANY special interest groups. He fights for our rights and freedom. Even if you don't agree with all his views most do agree he is honest, principled, and you know exactly what he will do in office not just what he "says' he will do. I'm going to put my vote where it counts for freedom and the American way.

    Best,

    - Dan

Comment: P.S. If you didnt have anything to hide in the first place then you wouldnt be to concerned if the CIA was listening to someone giving there spouse a grocery list over the phone. I would rather terrorists or other non desirables be caught thinking they werent being taped rather them plan another attack on ANY country. I bet you werent complaining when covert agencies "spied" on the groups that were planing to hijack more planes in Britain. Or do you think it was a hoax devised by the EVIL Bush Admin? And I dont think our founding fathers planned for this type of warfare. Surely even THEY the founding fathers had ways of getting info from the enemies. And I am sure they didnt sit around crying that they were torturing the Brits to get intelligence...Grow up. This is war tactics that have been going on for centuries for all countries. They just whine about it , and parade it around for political gains like some other parties which I would like to keep nameless.

Comment: the problem with your limited thinking is that you do not understand that may be fine in a perfect world where the government is honest and actually looking for terrorist, but what if the executive branch is wiretapping to get information on all political enemies ex: nixon (have you forgotton your history). you have no clue what the government is doing with this information. remember the n.y times report of journalist being wiretapped in order to find who they were getting information from. let's say that journalist have found some damning evidence against our government, well if they can wiretapp WITHOUT OVERSIGHT (NO COURT JUDGE APPROVING THE PROCESS) then they can get to the informant before all the information is revealed. this is very dangerous and don't believe because you live in the US that your government cannot be corrupt. you think valerie plame wasn't undercover. look at the federal district court's transcripts that she testified UNDER OATH as an undercover agent working on nucleor proliferation in iran. if she was lying then why haven't cheney and bush gone after her for perjury. do you think valerie plame is stupid enought to tesify under oath in front of a federal court and the senate judiciary committee and lie about it????? the point of wiretapping is not prohibiting the government from doing this, its to keep checks and balances so that abuse of power cannot take place. you might want to read the US constitution. Expand your thinking and understand what you are saying. do you think its a coincidence that weapons of mass destruction was debunked, ties to al queda, freedom on the march (oil for sure), and iran is developing nuclear weapons was debunked by the NIE. if we are fighting terrorist than why did we go to iraq. the washington post reported that the CIA was highly dubious that sadaam had weapons and that it had any ties to terrorism, yet douglas feith's office made its own conclusions which by the way was wrong wrong wrong!!!!! remember when mohammed del bardei the head of the IAEA determine in march of 2003 that yellowcake from niger were forged documents. bush still used the yellowcake from niger in his speech in cinncinati. i wonder why he would do that?????? why do you think the brits are pulling out troops and very little foreign troops are in iraq??????

Comment: If you really think that Iran is not looking to make nuke weapons, then you are foolish. One may not like the comparison but watching Iran is like watching a neighbor carry in boxes and boxes of cold pills and assuming they are not making meth. Im not against the Iranian people just its radical influences. Hell even Iranians that are close to the nuke program admit they havent stopped trying to achieve nuke ambitions. Iran is an openly terrorist nation and to think they wouldnt use a nuke weapon if they had one is just plain ignorant. I Do believe that the government has been playing big brother. They have found out more info than we will ever really know. I dont think this is anything new. Its certain polititians and media that want to stir up national frenzy over it. As for Britain they are pulling out because they are returning that part of Iraq to the people...which is what we all want to have happen one day. As for yellow cake or any other material of that nature...Did you not recall the capture of nuke materials just recently. Im sure thats just the tip of the iceburg, and that probably involved wiretapping. The CIA cant do its job if it always has a journalist, politician, or lawyers looking over its shoulder and stopping it from doing the dirty little jobs its designed to do. I have paid attention to history. And allowing it to repeat itself by sitting back and watching as we did in history is just plain stupid and even more costly. Consider the types of evils we are NOW dealing with. They use our technology, our freedoms, and our constitution against us.

Comment: I am applauding the fact that I voted for people who actually believe in justice, liberty, and equal protection under our laws. Democrats don't just pay these rights lip service to get elected. I suppose those who agree with observer101 would prefer a CIA with the power to search homes without a warrant, tap phones without a warrant, be held in jail for years without a charge or access to an attorney; oh thats right freedom loving republicans have given us this bastion legal protection that our founding fathers and roughly 12 generations of politicians thought important enough to protect live and die for. Not to mention yhe soldiers who did 99% of the dying, but republicans love soldiers till they have to be one then a hangnail gets out of service ( no disrespect to John Mcain he is a great man even if I don't agree with all of his policies). It seems republicans should do as they told liberals for years to do; go and live under totalitarian regimes then perhaps you will appreciate and value what we, liberals, are trying to mantain here in America.

Comment: God knows the Clinton Admin played by the rules with the Serbia incident in the 1990's. I guess the CIA didnt exist then know did it? Despite what you think Payne, Democrat or Republican we are watched with or without permission. Thats just the way it is. Imformation wins wars or starts them. So foolishly thinking that a Dem president or any president isnt going to get info anyway he can is just plain stupid.

  • Posted By: observer101 @ 12/15/2007 2:34:05 PM

Comment: Goes to show the Dems accomplish nothing..All they want to do is waste our time and money in congress and where ever they are elected into office. All who elected them should pat yourselves on the back. Cant wait to see what a Dem president will do for us. Osama will give up, peace will follow in the mid east then, all will be well. And ofcourse what enemies of the U.S are left will gladly give up information if a democrat nicley asks for it.
