Ever notice how Newsweek only portrays Christianity in a negitive light. The word clearly states that in the end times the love of God would wax cold in the heart of man. Lord, have mercy on those who love you in this God Forsaking country.

Christ is a lie, and America is waking up to that fact.
Soon your God will be no more than all the other absurd Gods of the past. Perhaps we will name a line cars after him, or use the crucifix as the symbol of a pizzaria.
WTF? What part of people thinking your God is a lie don't you get?
I feel bad for this man, he is not a true Christian. AChristian does intimidate or put down anyone for Jesus.God is Love and we should be refelction of His love. I think he is just on the wrong road to Jesus, it's great that he loves our Lord Jesus Christ, but maybe he needs to read the Bible and meditate on it. I will surely pray for him, because thier are alot people in this world who would love to bash Christianity and put down anyone who wants to stand up for God and Jesus! I don't need a Theology degree to read and understand the Holy Bible.
Are you seriously saying a Catholic minister doesn't read the bible- he's prolly read it more times than you. How many bible quotes do you know-this guy knows more than many of the priests I know Maybe you are not the true Christian sitting at your computer judging this man who you've never even met? Justin loves everyone and respects everyones beliefs and accepts differences and finds the good in everyone. I've been to several of his events and this article is not who he really is. He doesn't intimidate people or put anyone down. When was the last time you told someone they were amazing and reminded them how awesome they are? This guy is constantly reminding kids of how great they are and that they are loved. When you start up three ministries and help hundreds of thousands of America's youth come back and let us know- until then leave this guy alone-he's trying to make a difference because HE CARES.
I can assure you both that I have read the bible more than both of you combined, and I still find it to be absurd, and obviously the work of charlatans who want to indoctrinate the feeble minded
Read the Bible? Justin can recite the Bible. He uses scripture in all of his talks. What you all need to understand is that this intensity is only a small part of his ministry. Justin preaches and lives compassion. You all need to attend one of his events before making such comments.
First of all, you are entirely off with your interpretation of what Justin does, and who he is. I am an 18 year old high school senior, and I just have to say I have seen Justin change lives. If you don???t know Justin you may think he has a ???swagger??? and looks like a ???white rapper???, but what you don???t realize is he was brought up in an affluent family. Yes, he wears a jersey and listens to hip-hop, but he is trying to send his message to our generation- a generation who responds to exactly that. And that girl you mention, isn???t crying because Justin is yelling at her, she is crying because she just had a life changing epiphany, one that saved her from continuing down the wrong path in life. He does not humiliate these teens, they only share as much as they need to and participate to their own comfort level. In fact, he makes them feel loved. And he is not doing this to ???make a living??? he has had a calling in life, and unlike the rest of us he will not stop until he has saved every hurting person in this world. You may think he is extreme, and you may think he is unethical, however, Justin loves people more than you or I could imagine. If you have ever met him he makes you feel special, and important and like there is a reason for you to live- a reason greater than you could fathom. He is the most likable person you could ever meet, I could stare him in the eyes and tell him I hated him and do you know what he would say back? He would tell me he loves me and thank me for being in this world. Justin has two beautiful children, and a wife he loves. He is a great man, probably the best any of us will ever encounter in this world. And he loves Jesus; he believes in God above all, that is something I know to be true. Nonetheless, you are sadly mistaken if you think he is not helping these kids. He is doing more for them than you or I, and I have seen the change he has made in people. At the assembly I attended he made each teen find someone they had ???beef??? with and go hug them and tell them that they were there for them; that little act in itself could save lives. Justin is going to make an impression on this world that is greater than you could imagine, maybe next time you write an article you will take the time out to get to know the person you are writing about or the kids he is helping. But I have never met a teen that has encountered Justin without him impacting their lives in some way. In the end all I have to say is, everyone who has ever achieved greatness met resistance. I just hope the world lets go of its ignorance, and allows Justin to spread his message of love, there are far too many kids who need to hear it.
Dude, time for some SERIOUS deprogramming. And that Hip Hop crap has even less staying power than Disco, so either get some taste, or prepare to look like a fool in those future family photo albums.

Your so called Christian school spent so much time brainwashing you, they apparently neglected to mention lower case letters, and their role in the English language?
Another psychotic simpleton permited to poison the intellects of our young. Wether it be Sadar, Guevera or this clown I have always had a pesonal loathing for any zealot that targets childern.
He is a liar and mentally ill. Frankly, this charalatan deserves nothing more than a boot up his read end.
Sociopaths for Christ! Same as it ever was!
I agree that radical is radical- without respect to belief or denomination.
Why don't you tell about the Muslem religon which is really forced on you. Are you scared to,. It easy to pick on the Christian religon because you feel safe.
It looks like Justin Fatica is trying to live his faith... he seems to take very seriously Christ's command to share his faith and love in the Lord. His lack of stillness may make you uncomfortable but Christians weren't called to be quiet in a corner, but be a prophet to the world.
Justin Fatica represents all that is wrong with Christianity and all that makes it so despised in this country and in the world. Fanaticism in any cause is just as evil as fanaticism in any cause. His approach shows an almost total lack of study of the Gospel. Not of the words but of the message. Scaring anyone into anything is not a means of permanent change. I suggest that he retire to a quiet corner with one Bible verse to meditate upon, "Be still and know that I am God."
1. The early Christians were persecuted, starting under Nero and reaching one of it's highest peaks in the 3rd and 4th centures. I am not sure where you get the idea that they were fishermen, and exactly whom went back to fishing or not.. I dont think they exactly traversed the world, although Christanity did spread through various parts of the empire. The Pagans did believe there was life after death, the Christians were simply a messianic movement that attracted the poor during the time of Romes decline. It gave them a sense of community, and the teachings generally said they would be rewarded in heaven for their hardwork and poverished life, you didn't see Pagan philosphers and upper classmen convert to Christanity. Maytrdom was especially believed to be rewarded, so not only was their persecution, but many Christians were quite willing to be persecuted, in effect drawing even more appeal to the movement by the convictions of their followers. Yes the Christians converts probably did believe in the ressurection, but that really doesn't say much. It's no suprise that the uneducated would have probably believed anything that was an attachment of the Christian faith, or any faith for that matter. Why did the poor (and his rich wife) follow Mohammed, surely this must prove he was a genuine prophet. Why did people follow Apollonius of Tyana, who had many miracle claims attributed to him? Why did people follow Buddha, or Confucious, or Joseph smith?
2. And Paul or Christians writing about him would have no reason to exaggerate a few details, none what so ever right? I think you are referring to Acts, and neither of us really know what events portrayed there actually as described. All we really know about him is that he was a Christian who commented on theology, wrote to churches, and preached to gentiles. Assuming he was quite extensively persecuted by the Jews, so what? I am sure Joseph Smith and his followers were also quite persecuted, doesn't mean they knew the will of God. I am sure Muslims could consider Pauls story amazing, still doesn't help us learn what his story and past actually was.
3. What is a Scientific Historian, maybe you mean Liberal Historian? The Jesus Mythist view is a very very small minority in history and NT scholarship, granted. However we also know very little about the actual life of Jesus, a lot of it depends on speculation. Anonymous third hand accounts written for preaching to groups of Christians based off of one another that have contradictory chronogical events, moods, themes, created to suit the audiance they were being preached to don't do us much good. We can still try to derive some historical truth from it, but we frankly don't really know which parts or how much of the Gospels we could accept to formulate a picture of the historical Jesus.
Thank you for your thoughtful reply - face to face dialogue with you would be so much fun. Why on earth we bloggers attempt to sway each others' minds is behind me. I guess I have what you don't - blind faith. Yes, I need historical accounts, but I don't need the evidence you seem to. So be it. We're both good people I'm sure.
You have one sentence that stuck out at me - just as an aside. I agree with this sentence of yours: "And Paul or Christians writing about him would have no reason to exaggerate a few details, none what so ever right? I think you are referring to Acts, and neither of us really know what events portrayed there actually as described." Absolutely. I'm sure some events were exaggerated (yet they still occurred, right)? The reason this sentence stuck out at me is because it's so true of what this blog is all about. Justin and his HBO documentary. Boy the pieces they chose for this were the ones to exaggerate what he's about. Look at the picture above - veins bulging - arms waving. I've been with him in a room many times and he barely is noticeable. With teens he comes alive to get them to come alive. I guess if anyone can take something away from all this it would be that.
s
It's disgusting to see Christians using fear, intimidation and guilt-tripping to pound their message into rooms filled with frightened children... And the very message itself is unethical. What kind of ethical person would allow someone else to be punished for his sins? I wouldn't. If someone else offered to be punished for something I did wrong, I would tell him NO, as I hope any responsible person would do. Being an adult means taking responsibility for your own actions, not looking for someone else to take the punishment for them.
Who said the children are frightened? Some might think he's weird or freaky. Some are taken aback. Most are enthralled, amused, amazed, curious.
Knowing what we know about the human mind, it's criminal to let someone like this loose on vulnerable kids. I am increasingly convinced of the case, that certain kinds of religious indoctrination of children are so dangerous, that they require criminalisation. Generally I feel this way about Islam, but this meets all the criteria too. Horrible stuff.

Comment: Keep in mind that the producer filmed Justin for 110 hours, leaving 78 or so minutes for us to see the stuff that would be the most sensational. He's growing as a minister and he'll learn what to change. But right now it is working. No doubt about it. Also, keep in mind, as a friend of mine says, that "Jesus did not die in his sleep. He died an excruciating, agonizing, publicly humiliating death." None of us should deny that or forget it. Mel Gibson's PASSION movie didn't spare us from this fact. Justin doesn't spare us. God didn't spare us. The Bible and Gospels and other historical accounts and martyrs didn't spare us. Kids won't wither away with an animated, Jesus loving, passionate young man going a little nutso about it. They're curious and enamored that someone is willing to do that. PLUS - and hear this very clearly - no one else is doing anything - nothing, nada, zip. Justin's the only one stepping up to the plate in our faith and taking this stand. Should he change or tweak things here and there? Sure, maybe...but to say he's crazy or anything like that - you've only seen the 78 minutes or else you have an ax to grind.
Humiliating children is wrong. Jesus would not humiliate. What is this man's credentials. Does anything just think that he could actually just be crazy, and perhaps we are supporting a crazy man's idea? Vunerable teenagers need love, attention, education - a chance and reason to live. Perhaps additional funding in good social programs, bringing morality - not religion back into public schools - allowing teachers to teach and forcing children to abide by rules, parents - no matter what "type" of family the child comes from decides to get involved with there children. Let's start with a grass roots approach to reaching our children. Mr. Fatica's was of reaching children is abusive, embarrasses my idea of Catholicism, and makes me sad for the children who must endure the abuse. I will say an extra prayer for lives for these children hope that they can find an inner peace and find a way to survive in a world that each day presents a challenge for all.

I'm at a loss for trying to understand how working out cures the sin of masturbation. I thought that's why Jesus went to the cross. Didn't He go there to give us continuing victory over our flesh? Why all the talk about the cross if this man turns away from Christ to doing a workout to gain the victory over sin? I think he had better take a look at his theology. Either it's the cross of Christ that buys our salvation and the cross of Christ and His victory over death that gives us the victory or it's part Christ and part me that saves me. If I have to depend on myself for sanctification, then I am still lost and in my sins and Christ died for nothing.

What Justin was saying is that he was concentrating on working out and not on the sins of the flesh. He was simply stating that it was a means to the end, not a cure.
To quit smoking, people take up other hobbies to keep their mind off of smoking.
It seems Justin's intentions are good and young people are attracted to him through admiration or 'love' as so many are calling it. What is strange is that so many people keep saying that 'Justin loves everyone' or 'you haven't opened your heart' or 'you just don't know him'...etc..as if the opposition can't understand Justin. I can relate to being misunderstood. It's a horrible feeling. I think the people who are not emotionally involved should stand-by, wait patiently, and let's see what happens. If you don't want your kids involved keep them away from him. If you want them involved, stay close, because if this gets out of hand, then you'll be there. I think the Justin followers should be more patient with others that don't believe in Justin. After all, he isn't Jesus [not that he's claiming to be]. But, don't get crazy when others oppose him. World-wide we have seen leaders appear, form a cult, and hurt thousands of people -- Jim Jones is a prime example. Jim's followers said the same thing. 'Jim loves everyone'. 'Jim picks us up and makes us feel special and loved'. Having that much power makes it hard to lead without losing control or getting a 'big head'. Sometimes it's the followers who push a person to greatness where the person just wants to teach about the Lord. Next thing you know, the leader starts believing the hype. I want Justin to be careful, give all glory to Christ, and don't believe everything people tell him about himself. Why? Because, if the applause stops, he has to continue helping kids. That's love. One more thing--life is life. Each generation has to handle and manage their life. Every teenage generations claims to be misunderstood...not given enough attention...lost...etc. That's typical teenager feelings--trace it back as far as you can---you'll see it there. Abuse, trouble, pains are not new. We just have mass communication now. Try not to promote one generation's problems over another. What's important to one generation of teenagers may have meant nothing to the other, but it's still relevant because it's their problem. So, I won't bash Justin or wish him disaster. I will watch and wait and hope his followers will be patient with me...love me truly by extending your patience. We've been through a lot of disappointments too!
