Does anyone know if the killed little dog had rabies or not? I remember a movie where Gregory Peck sniped a rabid dog. He was a hero. I know you don't know what condition the dog was in.

    -------------------------------------------------------------------

The Beijing Morning Post on Wednesday reported that Qingdao, a major port city in Shandong province, was carrying out a campaign to vaccinate 40,000 dogs between now and the end of September. The newspaper said owners who did not comply would be fined.

The Chinese Health Ministry reported 2,375 rabies deaths last year nationwide.

Officials in Mouding, a county in the southern province of Yunnan, last month clubbed to death more than 50,000 dogs after rabies killed three people in the area.

Joe: Your characterization of Huckabee as a very unkind "Bible Thumper" is right on.

which is worse, abort a fetus before it is born, or have it thrust into a "family" situation where noone wants it, or thrown into a foster care situation to be used, abused and then thrown away. Animals or children, why don't we try to protect all forms of innocent life. I by the way am a vegetarian, who think that all forms of life have the right to live the life they are given. Don't drive so fast, you'll live longer.

Gov. Huckabee wants to come across to the voters as this very warm, good and kind Christ loving individual yet he thinks that it's OK to cover up for the deeds of his son in the terrible hanging of a dog at a Boy Scout Camp. It's a fact that the Gov. did use his office to bring pressure on others so that no action would be taken concerning the terrible abusive, inhumane deds of his son. It's a sad joke that this coward of a son latter was made an Eaagle Sout. Shame on the Boy Scout organization! More shame on America if we elect a President who is only an individual that would stand up for such evil as he waves his Bible in front of the public. If you are really interested check on Huckabee's record while he was the Governor of Arkansas as to animal policy. You will find that he did nothing to improve the laws of a State that has a terrible record pretaining to this issue. Vick thought that Pro Football had more fans than there are Animal Lovers. See what happen to him. Ad to this the number of good Christan people who will see through this very unkind "Bilble Thumper" and Huckabee will join Vick as a looser.

Joyo: Your comment about not getting all huffy is appropriate, but then you took it way too far by equating accidently hitting an animal with purposefully hanging a dog.

People, before we get all huffy at the hideous Huckabee kid, what about all the animals we drive over on our roads every day. I've hit a few in my life, and guess what, if i hadn't been going so fast they would have lived. Is it really that much worse when you hang one? Would the animal prefer a quick death? Do you like your chicken whole, or boneless and skinless? Do you like your leather tan or dark, patent or suede? Should we bury little nemo or should we flush him down the toilet? Please, he who hath no sin cast the first stone.

Apples don't fall too far from the tree. We can only imagine what hypocrisy Mike Huckabee's innocent face is masking. Unlike Jesus of Nazareth, an unarmed pacifist, Reverend Huckabee loves guns and the thrill of the kill; apparently the Reverend's psychopathic son does too. This story exposes Huckabee's lack of ethics - he abused his office to shield his son's wrongdoing - and it also exposes the Boy Scouts as absolute hypocrites devoted to a perversion and corruption of the highly vaunted Scouting Values. Mike Huckabee is not just an idiot, he's an A-hole.

Hey lordsgift. What are you talking about? Mormons killing people for money. Nice try.

What if he was waterboarding the dog? That would not count as cruelty. Right?

  • Posted By: sportsguydave @ 12/17/2007 11:56:31 PM

LOL.....some of you wingnuts crack me up. Are you capable of responding with an issue without bringing up the Clintons or Ted Kennedy?

    Pathetic.

I bet he doesn't care what you think-
The politics of personal destruction were begun BY Mike Huckabee not ON Mike Huckabee. He has made a personal attack on Mitt Romney over an issue which is irrelevant to the presidency. I'll bet he doesn't love it when the focus is back on him.

Did he earn a merit badge? Did Bush pin it on him?

  • Posted By: terry1s @ 12/17/2007 11:56:10 PM

The politics of personal destruction were begun BY Huckabee not ON Huckabee. He started the personal destruction when he attacked another candidate for his religion which will have no bearing on his presidency. I'll bet Huckabee doesn't like having the tables turned.

Send him on an all expense paid hunting trip with Bush and Cheney!

Arkwho must be an Arkansas native - barely literate, easily fooled and proudly ignorant - that's Reverend Huckabee's base. Young people who abuse animals in this manner can and sometimes do become psychopathic murderers. And this jerk made Eagle Scout? Shame on Scouting!

What sort of "family values" were passed along in the Huckabee clan?

We can only pray that Reverend Huck gets the GOP nomination, the sanctimonious rube would be lucky to carry his home state. But then again, ignorance like this is quite common in the Old Confederacy, sadly, the Huckster might actually sweep the South, especially if the Dems nominate a divisive loser like Mrs. Clinton.

    God help us!

the politics of personal destruction now begus for Huckabee has now begus because he is gaining momentum. i am sure this is coming from the left wing . why don't you guys ask your own politiciian beginning with the kennedy . Top of the list is TED - wholeft his secretary to drown in chapaquidick. who do you think proteck him - either dad or big brother job. this is just one and thereis more . the abuse of power is disgusting coming from this powerful kennedy but the elite media give them a pass.

If you're attempting to equate Huckabee's character with Ted Kennedy's, that's probably a pretty good parallel. I wouldn't vote for either of them. And, in fairness to the Democrats, they never nominated Teddy. Forunatedly, Republicans don't need to look outside our own party for a principled, traditional conservative.

You seriously think this is the left wing? They are too busy tearing each other apart. This has Guilliani earmarks on it, or at best a press corps doing what it's supposed to and actually (gasp) investigating. I'm an Independent, and this is the sort of stuff I want to know; what are the character issues with the candidates? What sorts of behavior can we expect in the next 8-9 years? And I base it on past behaviors, and I expect the press to help me know that.
