where is PETA? I don't see them screaming and yelling for this guy to lose his job a la Michael Vick. Animal cruelty is animal cruetly, after all. as for daddy covering it up, what else is new? the priviledged in this country get away with everything they do. if you have the money or the connections, you simply buy your way out of trouble. all politicians are self-serving, arrogant, liars whose only interest is how much they can get from special interest.

I'll bet he hooked and draged several fish through the water in the lake, later to skin and gut them while still alive and grill their remains. Not to mention the trama that the poor worm went through having that hook thrust through its body only to be chewed upon by the fish. I guess Michael Vick wishes his dad was Governor or something, huh! Moving up in the polls will bring out the dirt for sure. Certainly the act of cruelty to an animal, if true, is something serious and may indicate more deep seeded problems in a person; it is not, however, unusual for a parent to try to prevent a child from going to jail. If one is Governor, one needs has an obligation to the people to fight that temptation. I don't think it necessarily goes to Governor Huckabee's character that his son may have done such a thing, but it goes to his ethics as to whether he took improper steps to intervene in an investigation.

Huckabee is just another BS throwing bible thumper and is a crooked as the other republicans.

A bible beating candidate who has no respect for God's creatures. if you cannot raise your OWN children to know right from wrong then you cannot lead our great nation. Any educated, well meaning human knows you do NOT harm innocent animals let alone brutally mame and kill them. I was hoping thuckabee may be different but he is just like the other morally devoid candidates.

If you cannot instill in your own children the difference in right and wrong then you are not qualified to lead our great nation. The scary thing about this wacko is that he is able to present a very engaging personality and thus people like him when they first meet him (I know I did). However, when you look behind the facade (as the press is finally starting to do), there's nothing there but shallow ignorance (sad that he doesn't "believe" in evolution, but give him points for believing in Santa Claus).

Covering up animal abuse along with Huckabee's comment regarding people with AIDs/HIV makes me certain I do not want this man in the White House-look at his decision making practice!

Funny I don't hear about animal abuse by kids who grow up with "immoral" liberal parents or gay parents or secular parents. Of course fundamentalists think we have dominion over animals, so who cares about animals? Maybe this is how David was raised by smiley slick Mike.

Hard to say what happened 10 years ago- bit most parents wuld not want to be judged by the actions of their children- kids do dumb things when they get together with friends (remember the show Jackass???) Eventhough their parents have taught themthe rigth thing...

And if we are judging by the actions of family members- Katie bar the door- the Clintons are in trouble for sure....

Hard to say what happened almost 10 years ago- but I think most parents would not want to be judged by the actions of their children- Kids make dumb mistakes (ok- this was really dumb) when they are with their friends and despite their parents teaching them the right way....
