A Son’s Past Deeds Come Back To Bite Huckabee

Since when is hanging way way to put a suffering animal out of its misery? By the way cruelty to animals has been documented by psychologists and sociologists as a precursor for more violent behavior to humans (a la Jeffrey Dahmer and Ted Bundy).

As an Eagle Scout myself, I wonder what was wrong with that Arkansas BSA council that they even let David Huckabee receive the Eagle. My council in NC wouldn't have done it back in the Seventies.

This is really chickenshit stuff, but if Huckabee really canned his state police director because he wouldn't kill an investigation of his kid - that's pretty serious.

Huckabee has also been using a dog fighter slogan in the press. And acting like it's a positive thing!

Anyone who hurts an innocent animal has serious, serious issues. It's not just a "phase". It's a lack of conscious and a lack of respect for other species that we share this planet with. Why is it that it's always these psycho Christian lunatics that are pulling this type of crap? Cover up your sons animal hanging adventures one day, release a serial rapist murderer the next day... praise Jesus all the way.

Who is perfect? The republican Governor Huckabee fired the Director of the State Police. This is an appointed position that was appointed by the previous Democratic Governor. Not really that unusual, but that was not in the report was it?

I live in Arkansas and the then Govenor Huckabee did as any parent might do when their son is in trouble. The Director of the State Police is an appointed position and as the Govenor he had the right to hire or fire him as he saw fit. In Gov. H's defense he did not remove all democratic appointees from office just to hire his own. I say this as an impartial obsevor since I am a democrat and did not ever vote for him.

If any candidate got up and said they were EITHER an atheist or agnostic, it wouldn't matter what his values or morals would be, it wouldn't matter if by all appearances he/she were as pure as the driven snow, that person would be metaphorically burned at the stake.

So enough of the criticizing the fathers for the children's sins. If you are a parent, you are going to make some mistakes. If you are a teenager you are going to make some mistakes. If he had sliced off the dogs head and started eating it's raw flesh, then we might have something there. I love animals like the best of them and have never on purpose killed any creature that was not trying to harm me, but for Pete's sake this young man didn't do this thing right in front of his dad. We all occassionally do things that are momentarily out of character. Can we give David a break here? And as far as Mike HUckabee goes...well, if presidents and presidential candidates are going to be crucifyed because their children are not perfect, then Huckabee is in pretty good company as the above quote proves. While you may or may not believe that Abraham Lincoln was a decent, honest president, are any one of you willing to go up in front of a live audience anywhere in the U.S. (that is, barring the audience being either pro-slavery or skin heads) and lambast him? I didn't think so.
