A Son’s Past Deeds Come Back To Bite Huckabee

This whole discussion of conservative vs liberal is rediculous, THINK PEOPLE!!!
1. Have you or any of your children ever killed a domesticated animal in a cruel or insensitive manner?
2. Have you or any of your children ever tried to carry a loaded handgun on a commercial aircraft?
3. Have you as a parent ever tried to cover up your childs misdeeds without them learning a lesson?
If you can say yes to any one of these questions, then you have probably missed the boat in parenting skills, and If you can't manage your own family how can you possibly hope to manage a family of 300 millon...

This is not a "liberal" issue. I am a republican and find this completely unacceptable. This "loser" son was only a teenager at the time he committed this atrocious act. Any sane person would question why he never learned about compassion--perhaps because dad is lacking? Dad's response--using his influence to cover it up rather than acknowledging that there is a problem and seeking help for his son--reflects badly on him, not his son. But the fact that Huckabee has made it evident that he does not support making animal cruelty a felony says it all. I will vote democrat before I will vote Huckabee.

Let's hope that Huckabee found some psychiatric help for his son. But then again, maybe his son learned through example. After all, Huckabee is quite proud of his own track record on execution. I wonder how Huckabee's views on execution would change if his own son was sitting on death row. Knowing what we do about the nature of those who are cruel to animals, it's entirely possible.

I find it ironic that many American's didn't care about President Clinton's confirmed affair in the Oval Office and so quickly dismissed and excused his behavior with the ridiculous and false notion that what he did privately didn't have any bearing on his public role as president. And yet something that Huckabee's son allegedly did (the details are murky) and the unproven accusations of others against Mike Huckabee are so important and potentially toxic. Sometimes I think American's are such split personalities!! I wonder if the first post (Jessica) was a Clinton supporter? I also wonder does she have children?? She wouldn't vote for anyone who can't control their own son. Do you speak from the position of an experienced parent who is raising or has raised flawless children?? EIther you are very young and have no children and speak from ignorance or you have children and are the most prideful person who is in total denial of reality and your children's sinful nature. You know the old expression, "those who live in glass houses," and "Let he that is without sin cast the first stone."

It has been proven that when a child or teenager abuses and/or tortures an animal, it leads to serial killings. Not say that David is or will become a serial killer, but perhaps we should take a look at the person he was and has become. For his father to cover it up is truly unbelievable. His father obviously has no conscience just like his son. David should be tortured the same way he and his friend tortured that dog. He should not have made Eagle Scout seeing that he violated one of their credos. Personally, I would have hung by his balls and let a pack of very hungry dogs eat him alive. Hopefully the people of this country will not elect a man who can not even control his own son. Although, he already knows how to cover mistakes.

I guess people are really reaching now. An incident that happened 10 years ago. If we were all judged by what our family members did, we would all be in deep water. Judge the man for what he has done for the people. A person runs to help the people, not the party. Even though the President doesen't have the power to fix everything, we need someone with strong morals to keep this mighty land of America together and strong.

You can judge a person by the way they treat animals. These slobs should be hung by their necks for awhile to see how they like it. Father and son are both jerks, and anyone else that covered that up. Stories like this make me so mad I'd like their asses. I have 3 precious dogs and if anyone ever hurt them I would be on my way to jail because of what I'd probably do.

The guy is a sadist. Read between the lines here. Being enabled by daddy doesn't get any worse than this. What kind of creep would intentionally hang a dog? And what kind of father would cover it up instead of getting his son the mental health help he obviously needed? This is indicative of the character of a candidate for U. S. President? Gee, I guess being the white kid of a precher-politician trumps being a black kid and NFL quarterback, huh? Voting for Huckabee is actually (I didn't think this was possible) WORSE than a vote for Bush. At least if Huckabee beomes Prez we can reuse all the old lines, like ... how do you know if {insert Bush or Huckabee here} is lying? If their lips are moving, their lying.

A vote for Huckabee is WORSE than a vote for Bush.

What seems to be wrong with this is? Michael Vick was just sent to prison for this kind of behavior. I guess he did not know the right people. Mr. Huckabee wants to be refered to as the olny canidate with a degree in theology.. what about COMMON SENSE and the meaning of being and acting in the name of Christ. I think he needs to have a one on one with Mitt Romney.
