A Son’s Past Deeds Come Back To Bite Huckabee

Out of all the people commenting on this,just how many of you can actually say your life was perfect ! Get real.

I think they used this particular photo because it happens to be the one that they took at the SHERIFF'S STATION when he got BUSTED for torturing an animal (which happens to be what this story is about, if I'm not mistaken). I don't really think we can blame Newsweek for the fact that this guy looks like a psycho in his mug shot, now can we?

I like how people act like newsweek purposely picked an unflattering picture of him in an attempt to smear him or something. He's a disgusting, revolting, past/present/future psychopath that thinks he's special because his father is an effective liar (e.g. slimeball politician). Don't defend him on the basis that in many countries, hanging dogs is considered humane; in many countries, hanging this super chunk would be humane (if a tree branch would hold him).

So, ten years ago, a 17 year old kid MAY have done something less than wonderful, and his Dad MAY have gotten involved. Wow, that story deserves to make it into a national magazine! And let's look at the picture they chose to use of the teen involved. Hmmm, surely they didn't INTEND to pick an unflattering picture to place with the story, did they? Look, I'm a rock-solid Independent, but this truly smells like a "news" magazine working very hard to make a candidate they don't like look bad.

Okay, so everyone jumps on the Huckabee bandwagon when he is a "good guy." "Oh, he speaks so well. He's just like you and me. Listen to him speak. He is the best." But then some dirt comes up on him and you all still defend him. HE'S THE SAME AS EVERY OTHER CANDIDATE! He's NOT just like YOU and ME. He's a goddamned politician and he knows EXACTLY what he is doing and what cards he is playing at ALL TIMES. This man will exploit anyone and everyone he can (including Jesus Christ), cover up whatever he has to and tell the "God-fearing," right-wing fundies whatever it is that they want to hear. Wake up, you Huckabee supporters. Choose a candidate by his/her stances and political views, not on how he/she relates to you and/or if he/she is a good speaker or not. Just because someone is quick on his feet with a retort or quote from the bible doesn't make him a good leader.

So Huckabee is saying now that his son did not "intentionally tortue" the dog. Which part, please tell me, was not intentional. Was it the stabbing? Was it cutting the dog's throat? Was it throwing stones at the dog? Was the hanging the dog? Please, Mr. Huckabee, tell me, which part of that was not intentional? The fact that this psycho went on to become an Eagle Scout sure doesn't speak well for the Boy Scouts.

I do not care either way but.. The way I see it is if you do the deed you need to pay the piper! Weather your son, daughter, husband or wife you do not use your "rank" as your advantage and if you or anyone else does. FIRE THEIR A$$! Period no ?s asked no statements no nothing done deal. I know I have taken my son who is only 9 and1/2 to the local juvie hall not 2 months ago for threat to another child in school.. It is not tollerated in society nor in my home no matter how I love anyone I aint dealing with no drama!

Oh hope this is as alarming to others as it is to me. It clearly indicates a gross misinterpretation on the role of government institutions on behalf of Huckabee -- that he got away with this as governor is sickening. Are people *that* blinded by solicitous religious rhetoric?

The fruit does not fall far from the tree. The elder Huckabee has elevated stupidity to an art form (how can ANYBODY deny natural selection in this day and age?). Can't really say he's done when he never had a chance in the first place.

I was leaning toward Huckabee, but...maybe he's more politician than sincere representative of his ideals. This story needs some in depth investigation. Was the state police organization really "alienated", whatever that means, and what doe some other witnesses have to say about this incident. If it's true that Huckabeee heavy-handed the chief of state police on behalf of his son, he's done, in my opinion, and if he now lies about it, he should be done in everybody's opinions.
