Comment: Senator McCain, My original plan was far outdone with your 3R Plan. I applaud your choice to build a stronger America through workers versus my bad idea of robbing the rich to fund the projects! The speculators have been the problem for decades with sudden inflation and you solved it with the 3R plan!
    IS this it in full?
FOR IMMEDIATE RELEASE: JOHN McCAIN???S 3R ECONOMIC PLAN 2008
    Abbreviated version

Progressive Candidate John McCain comes through for America with his 3R economic plan.
In the persona of Theodore Roosevelt, McCain???s plan just makes sense.

    1. RETHINK: America must rethink the global views on what America is capable of in our current state of technology, engineering and the demands that face the world.

???RE-Think??? the basic job goals involve the dwindling retirement, health care and social security plans that are failing Americans. With a strong base and a higher Gross Domestic Product (GDP) America has a new bargaining chip in the way we live and the ways we retire.

The framework is already in place through existing laws to make this happen. The Progressive attitude of John McCain to get things done by crossing party lines will resurrect America.

    2. REFORM: America must rise to these demands and compete aggressively in a global economy. American people must demand higher quality products and less restricted trade routes for Made in USA components.

The USA will reform its dead manufacturing base to create the most innovative and green-engineered products possible. We will compete in a world market along with other high quality products. Once again, the world needs American success in these new ways of manufacturing.

    3. REINVENT: America and Americans must reinvent themselves to reach and maintain these standards and by sheer American ingenuity, control the world???s marketplace in the competitive manner, as we have always been proud to be #1. Can you hear Theodore Roosevelt shouting this?

Americans are going back to a 3R-schooling program where they are paid to reinvent their skills and learn new skills to design and lead their personal LLC, Corporation or joint venture company. That???s easy enough to comprehend and just as easy to implement. The 3R plan is designed as a six-month rapid advancement system. Graduates may return for additional skill enhancements from time to time, or step up after new advanced training in executive management.

McCain???s 3R is about technical, closely monitored and rapid hands on training from pros to create new pros. Thousands of currently-job-displaced ???once leaders in the manufacturing arena??? will be asked to train and play instructor rolls in the 3R plan. Paid, of course, as these new leaders will help create a whole new style of prosperous America. A new guard for Social Security.

    Dear Senator John McCain,

Very simply, my plan outline is as follows and although your ???experts without vision???
(as many experts seem to be) might scoff at it, we have no other legit alternatives for an immediate boost to both the American and worldwide economy.
I understand your desire to have a great economy world wide and urge free trade, but these are steps I believe and I KNOW America must follow to regain it's strength and world leadership role.First off, there is no way 200,000 troops coming home would ever be able to find jobs, so I am for the efforts in continuing our fight against the terrorists abroad for more than the obvious reasons.

    I. US Citizens and corporations with more than ten million in capital in the banks around the world will be immediately taxed 20% of their holding WITH THE US' "GUARANTEE OF REPAYMENT PLUS NOMINAL INTEREST" IN FIVE YEARS.

II. The "investments" these people and corporations are taxed (volunteered if need be) would be invested into American work projects and the revamping of America's auto industry.
((I personally have an alternative to the petroleum internal combustion engine with ZERO CO2 emissions, and an auto design to compliment it that I WILL GIVE YOU and the U.S. provided it goes into production in 2008, to further this cause)). Also on the production scale is my no propane, no electricity home heat source for all of America that will greatly make our lives better. Necessity is the Mother of all Invention!

III. The illegal aliens across the US will be given the option to go home or report and pay the $5000 as per your plan. Another option for the able bodied ???illegals??? would be to enlist in the armed services and/or nationwide workforce to rebuild our great Nations roads, bridges, etc at a mediocre pay rate ((They are doing it anyway, so let's make the best of it)).

IV. Companies and businesses that keep manufacturing here in America shall be given a huge tax break to off set the free trade and lack of import tax from other countries.

    V. Companies that reinvent and build new factories across America (such as off of the interstates in the west) can do so with huge reductions in taxes and with easy lending terms from these ultra rich investors throughout America.

VI. Monies from the ultra rich and mega corporations can also be bulked or individually placed into these processes and returns and write offs for each tax year up to the five years can be realized by them.

VII. Finally, but not the last thing to be addressed, is have the Congress and House and the ultra-richly-paid-government-employees to forgo pay or take partial pay while not actually working on the job (the big summer break) for the same five years. Possibly allowing them the same write offs or terms as the investors.

IT CAN NOT FAIL and take these as true famous last words.

Comment: McCain posesses wisdom, something in short supply on either side. He knows the difference between an Iranian and an Arab and knows that they have NOTHING in common but Islam. He is unlikely to make rash decisions or use the military as the first instrument of policy. Most importantly, he has courage, the courage to chart a course independent of the "Establishment Republicans" He was right on the surge when everyone else was wrong!

Comment: Mc Cain is the one candidate who is a uniter and not a divider. He is also the ONLY major candidate that has not only served in the military but is a genuine war hero. If you want to really keep this nation out of war, elect a man who knows what war is like first hand. No man who served wants war - we have seen it too closely and too personally. Old, sure he is - that often brings wisdom and judgement.

Comment: People talk about his age, yes he is 71. But let me remind you, especially the internet/text message generation who adores Ron Paul that he is only one year younger. Yet, they use the age issue, failing to realize that their candidate is also old. And in response to MyViews51, Reagan had Alzheimer's. It makes sense that his mind would fail him. If McCain had such a disease, I am sure we would know about it. He is an honest man.

Comment: Lets face it, McCain cannot win the General Election...for a variety of reasons- not the least of which is that he is too old. The Dems will jump all over that fact. They will point out that Reagan was already loosing his mental faculties mid-way through his 2nd term. From among the candidates he is also the guy most likely to get us into another war.

Comment: It must give Americans a great feeling of security thinking of Linsey Graham, in his first act as John McCain's new Secretary of Defense, ordering the US Air Force to "shock and awe" the Iranian Nation.

Comment: I am not a republican and would prefer y'all pick someone other than McCain to lead your ticket. He is an honest thoughtfull realist something our leaders are in short supply of at the moment. He begrudgingly supports a modest path to citizenship because he, like anyone else who has taken a math class, cannot see the feasability of deporting 20 million people. I have also heard it referenced that he failed Reagon economics 101; how is this a bad thing. He was in the middle of the Keating mess that grew from no oversight and little regulation and apparently he learned from it. Most republicans would have us believe that while people lie, cheat, and steal everyday for 100 dollars they would never stoop to such levels for 100 million. McCain has seen first hand what men will do for money and power and he has voted with his heart we need more of his kind . Please republ;icans vote against him give us the election the country needs it but it may also need McCain.

Comment: First- not everyone in SC is an evangelical. It was mentioned during the pre-Civil War days that SC was too small to be a state and too large to be an insane asylum. The demographics of the state are changing and there is a growing number of north-easterners moving down and people fed up with Florida moving half-way back home and settling in the coastal and inter-coastal areas of the state. This will be very good for John McCain, especially among the retirees and former military. Even us native sons reject the duplicitous and avaricious SC born Edwards, who has made it very clear that he had made thefinancial rape of the wealthy and middle-class his first priority, Obama has been rejected by even some of the state's black politicians, and Hillary looks like she just stepped off a spaceship when she talks to anyone in the South. McCain will be embraced because of his Maverick status by a state still populated with mostly mavericks. He also has the age and wisdom to lead the country back to "normalcy" and he can effectively deal with the gangsters who run about 75% of the countries around the globe.

I never suggested that I either like the Newt or the Rice. I do however respect their intellectual superiority over all the other Republican runners. To the Secretaries defense ... black, white, yellow, male or female, who in the blaming world could defend this nations policies with success!

I am a Democrat, but still respect good efforts .... the former Press Secretary and his former Texas speech writer Karen Hughes who just resigned. I see NO-ONE else.

Condalizza Rice may not have accomplished much, but not for trying or flying umpteen miles to attempt new efforts. '"Cold war relic', so is Putin the new "Man of the Year."

Returning to McCain, Man of the past, his year end smoke blowing up the Falwell, Pat Robertson, Christian intolerants made me puck. Same for his kissing up to Bush, after the nastiest campaign before the Kerry Bush campaign. The Bush attacks on McCain were brutal and now he kisses cheeks with him?

Now you have two religious forerunners in the Republican party, one a Baptist bible thumper and a Mormon. Theocracy running!

I just don't think it will work.

Comment: Putin is man of the year because He has returned Russia to the world stage. The fact that they are anti-west might be a result of us building out NATO to his borders, Ignoring their interests, Sticking ABM systems that threaten them right next to them, calling them names like Condi has done... I too was a trained Cold warrior. Condi restarted one. They had pensioners freezing to death when Putin took office. When he started charging market prices for fuel so he could pay Russia's bills, we screamed at him for using energy as a weapon. Putin has been a far better leader for Russia than Bush has been here. We too have fallen far from our ideals and democratic values. Putin drove out western NGO's that were in place to destabilize Russia. If I were you, and you wanted to come off a little brighter brother, do some reading about Russia. It is hardly Churchill's riddle, mystery, engima, etc. Ivan doesn't want to go back to Red, but He sure as heck is not going to get walked on and ignored anymore. Ivan begged us to leave Saddam alone, like a buddy sizing up a fight. Bush ignored him.
McCain? a tortured relic of a bygone era. If you want to restart a European arms race, vote GOP. Ivan has matched us tit-for-tat on tossing treaties into the waste bin. We have added enemies, not allies since 9/11. The GOP lives for a terrified populace.

And let's not forget the money he is making off of the Russian black market. Sounds like a winner to me.

Comment: I love how everyone always tries and 'chain' thocracy to the Reps. Do you realize that Hillary learned her Socilist views from her METHODIST minister in Arkansas? So all of this 'good' she is doing is because of her 'religious' beliefs. Obama has claimed the same on his Muslim beliefs. Reps are just honest about it, Dems just lie about.

      • Posted By: Braes @ 12/21/2007 10:45:42 AM

Comment: Dew, please go back to the EIB network and stop lying about Obama. If Hillary learned morality in a Methodist Church that is a bad thing? (It is also spelled socialist... which liberation theology is not.) Why not ask your buddy Romney why a Black man could die for America, but not belong to his church until after 1978. Your party which I assume to be the GOP is rife with religious bigots and liars.
No one is chaining the GOP to a theocracy issue. You have cloaked yourselves in it.

Hillary did not brag about learning morality at church, but socialism. Slight problem, but the bigger one is why she is so ashamed of this that she no longer disusses it for fear of throwing those two people who still listen to Air America into a dizzy. For the record, I could care les about the doctrine of the Mormon church.

And what did I say that was a lie about Obama?

Comment: God, I cant believe is misspelled so many words. Too much chainsaw exhaust I suppose. Anyhow, I will also my suspicion that NO Republican will get a majority before the convention. Money wise four of the five major players have plenty of money to keep campaigning. Not so McCain. Ron Paul has a surprising ability to draw in money, much as did Howard Dean. Enthused caucus members mean nearly as much as the party hacks.

The same may hold true for the Democrats. I believe all of the three top candidates will split the caucuses. Biden may also become a spoiler if the race gets nastier. I truly look forward to major convention surprises in both parties! Late endorsements and power broking yet to come.

Hopefully, this might encourage better voter participation! Last years choices left many people gagging, myself included!.

Comment: As a Democrat I tend to agree with all last three comments. I would also add the flip-lop meeting with the Christian far right last year, kissing up to them and to the president in the straw pole a while back. I lost all respect for McCain then and there. I certainly do not view him as the "maverick'." He is one of the old boy network fas evidencedd ty the Kissenger/C.I.A endorsements.

Why no meida news is being made for Ron Paul astounds me. He is a true maverick, and should the Democrats choose Clinton I might vote for Ron Paul. NONE of the others, including McCain.
Personally I think a Gingrich/Rice ticket might have been a winner.

Comment: Sorry flype, I am a black woman and while I value affirmative action for opening doors for persons of color and women, I feel they need to be qualified. I feel Rice was appointed to appease those who would say there is "no color" in the administration, 9/11 happened under her watch and she has been an ineffective secretary of state. She is trained in Russian politics...she is a Cold war relic, no qualifications to deal with the diplomacy issues of the day

Comment: Condi has been as useless as Don Trump called her. She is a perfect fit because no Democrat will attack a black female for anything, they have a PC brain and can't do it. My low point with Dr. Condi was when Lebanon was being obliterated, She played the piano for diplomats. What a case. She isn't black at all.

Comment: Colin Powel was already there, so the 'no color' card doesn't fly very far. You could try the 'no woman' card, but by all accounts, Rice was far more qualified than Albright who was responsible for more terrorist attacks against Military personnel and US citizens (USS Cole, 2 US emabassies, World Trade Center bombing, various night clubs in Germany and middle east) than any other S of State.

        • Posted By: Braes @ 12/21/2007 10:37:07 AM

Comment: Hey, Albright was Secretary of State, a diplomat. Deal Maker. Not on the National Security team, like Condi. I also do not recall being threatened by Mushroom clouds by Dr. Albright. Condi fanned the flames of terror. Tyrants need a reign of terror. Works against gutless Democrats every time. They give Bush whatever he wants. (Oh and the nightclub in Germany, a reach too far, it happened when your God Reagan was in office.) Partisan slime.

Comment: Albright - First WTC bombing, attack on USS Cole, two US embassies attacked, countless military personel attacked and murdered in Germany, bin laden left to run amuck and plan 9/11. Who did she make a deal with?

And let us not forget poor little Elian Gonzolez...

Comment: McCain doesn't, and SHOULDN'T, have a chance. He's grown old and angry - way past his prime. Thanks for the service - you are a true hero ~ but so was my well-decorated father, and he isn't receiving any votes for president either.

Comment: McCain equals Dole as far as electability goes. And even though McCain was aPOW, he may lose the vet vote based upon his selling out of the MIAs when he and Kerry passed legislation to get chummy with Vietnam. Also, he has been too quick to sell out the party in favor of Kennedy and his ilk.

Comment: The repubs missed their chance in 2000 and nominated the wrong guy. It's too late for McCain now, because he IS too old. And inflexible at this point. And anyone who though invading Iraq was the right decision is disqualified from being president, in my opinion.

Comment: The Bush family syndicate crushed McCain in 2000. For a deeper look into their past, just dig up the "Business Plot" against FDR. The Bush family name has been in and about many of America's darkest hours. Prescott also laundered Nazi money here. Scum, each and all of them. Scum.

Comment: The repubs should have nominated McCain in 2000, because they made a terrible choice in Bush. It is too late for him now. McCain IS too old. And too inflexible at this point. Anyone who says it was the right decision to invade Iraq is disqualified to be president.

Comment: I want to like McCain, but lost most of my respect for him when he caved in to Jerry Falwell and flew to Lynchburg to kiss his ass at Liberty University. He was right to call Falwell and Pat Robertson "agents of intolerance" in 2000, and, until he stands up to the Bible beaters who want to make the US a theocracy, he won't get my vote.

Comment: I use to really like McCain and was hoping he would get the nod over Bush in the 2000 race. Unfortunately he didn't. I lost respect for him when he continued to back Bush and the Iraq war - making the Bush tax cuts perm is the WRONG thing to do - I would think he would understand that even being a Republican. I've voted Republican all of my life until Clinton - now I think the Dems offer more than the Repubs do. Personally, I don't think Senator Clinton would be all that bad - I think people just think she would be "bad". In all seriousness she could wind up being one of the best Presidents we've had. Women tend to think differently then men do - maybe that would be a breath of fresh air that this country needs right now. We sure as the devil don't need more of the same!!!

Comment: I am an independent voter, that leans Democratic. Clinton will most likely got the Democratic vote, which means a Republican will be the president in 2008. I have great respect for McCain who caught a lot of flack over the immigration debacle, but at least he proposed SOMETHING, although needing much work. And I was against the Iraq war from the beginning, but at least he stood his ground on what he believes. I would love to see a McCain-Obama ticket, a marriage of the old and the new, I love this country but it is drifting towards an aristocracy, we just need solid leadership married with new ideas.

Comment: I've always had a lot of respect for McCain and I certainly can't stand any of the GOP candidates in the field right now. I lost some of that respect when he didn't call Bush and Rove out in South Carolina in 2000 (who in push calling insinuated he had fathered a black baby instead of adopting her - of course, that doesn't say much for those South Carolinians either), He then ended up pandering to Bush and then to the crazy religious right lunatics such as Falwell and that is where my respect for him dried up.

I do think he was wrong on his support for Iraq. I totally understood going into Afghanistan after Bin Laden and the Taliban but then we did a complete 360 and decided to go after Saddam WHO HAD NOTHING TO DO WITH 9-11. Anyway, that decision has cost us any standing in the world, both countries still a mess that we'll have to be involved in for at least one more generation, and untold TRILLIONS of dollars our children and grandchildren will be tasked with, with less and less available to take care of our own citizens.

Having been a Reagan Republican, I don't feel that I could ever morally vote for another Republican as long as I live - my vote would go to a monkey before it went to a Republican again.
