How naive to think that the other side hasn't done the same darned thing to our people. What about Col. Buckley U.S.M.C. in the Lebanon. Secrets have been extracted from people in the cruelest of fashions since way before Christ and the so called civilization of nations came about. The CIA must enjoy the same options as the enemy and today the threat of terrorism is greater than ever. Wake up people!

If our Central Intelligence Agency does not have the confidence to protect our nation's secrets and has to destroy our taped secrets, then we'd better demand that our government replace the CIA with another agency can keep our nation's secrets.

I keep worrying that the CIA can't keep secrets so that they have to destroy interrogation tapes. Perhaps, and I've mentioned this before, if our intelligence agency can't ensure that our nation's secrets be kept secret to protect our national security, then perhaps the CIA needs to be replaced by a better intelligence agency, one that has the confidence that it can keep our nation's secrets.

So they destroyed the TAPES, because they thought their agents were going to get exposed? Well it seems to me that they knew an inquiry about the tapes was going to take place and they obliterated the tapes. The CIA just incriminated themselves and unfortunately some of the people that oredered the tape records destruction are already working somewere else. If the CIA is part of the executive branch then who is actually doing what the executive branch is suppose to do. This is just another example of the corruption that goes on the Presidential level. The President probably thinks well I just hire this person and let him do the dirty work anyways he is disposable. P.S. I love my country and justice will prosper sooner or later.

Does anybody seriously believe that this is anything other than a way to hide the fact the Bush Administration did things they shouldn't have done? If GW and is posse are such 'stand up and do the right thing for our country' guys why not just tell the public what they did and why they did it? The end end result here is that they found out something that helped with their objective and ultimately protected the country so why not just tell the truth?

I honestly don't think people have such a problem with this administration's policies as much as they do with the fact this administration hides everything from us and tries to justify hiding it to boot. Just tell it like it is and if there was a valid reason, or even semi-valid reason for doing it we'll get it.

Let me get this straight, we, the American public are being asked to allow the Justice Dept. investigate the "Interror Gate Scandal". We need to really realize that it's not the actual crime. It's the cover-up. This administration is so obsessed with not allowing itself to be embarrassed politically, even if it means violating the law. And in this Interror Gate Scandal" it is clearly obvious that they are operating a government within a government. By balking at being investigated by the legislative branch. You don't destroy tapes videos unless you are covering up conduct that may be beyong the pale of good, honest and decent government. And when are we going to stop allowing the Republican to beat us over the head with their propaganda, that government is not necessary.

Between this and the Valerie Plame incident, I question whether our "secret" organizations are that, or are just subject to the schizims of normal politics. We elect, and we pay, our leaders to do such nasty business in secret, so that the rest of us shouldn't have to worry about it. Now, it seems, that everybody is privy, including our enemies. I find this more disconcerting than anything.
