Hillary Clinton would be a disaster for our country just like her husband was. That is why she will never hold the office. The true American people see what a disaster she would be and that is why she is so far down in the polls and becoming more and more desperate. Thank God we have a president who is intelligent and bright enough to see what is going on in the world and protecting us from foreign invasion. The democrats are idiots and if they had their way; would cede the war and let the terrorist's run our country. That won't happen because we have a man with balls in the White House. By the way, Bush didn't lie about WMD. He took the advice of the CIA director, George Tenet, a Bill Clinton appointee and formed his decisions for war based on that; which it turns out was the correct thing to do. We have won the war, despite the democrats attempts in congress to surrender to the enemy. Well Sparky....you're showing your stupidity and lack of knowledge. The only thing that died when Clinton lied was a little bit of our country.......

I too was in the US Navy and retired as a Commander, My father is a retired Navy Captain, brother another Commander and my grandfather a retired 4 star Admiral. You fail to realize that if Democrats are in control, like history has shown, we lose respect in the world. With Clinton, all they wanted to to was talk to the enemies and make deals. Well, us upper echelon military men know you don't talk to the enemy, you attack them and kill them. That way they don't live on to attack another day. Bill Clinton had ample opportunity to take out Bin Laden and didn't want to upset the international community. By his failure to take him (Bin Laden) out George Bush had to clean up Clinton;'s mess. This is well known and documented but the pundits and media don't want to talk about it. George Bush was right and is still right in going after the terrorists wherever that are, including Iraq. Sure men and women have died and sacrificed their lives for the call of freedom, just like thousands of American soldiers before them. Their deaths and sacrifice are no differet than the deaths of soldiers who stormed the beaches at Normandy or took Mt. Suribachi in Iwo Jima. Their deaths, while tragic were and are necessary for the preservation of our way of life, our freedom. Democrats don't get that, don't understand. They say they do in front of the camera or crowds of people but their actions in the face of the enemy show they have no loyality, honor or even understand the meaning of sacrifice. George W. Bush while not the smooth talker or salesman of a Bill Clinton has taken our country from being attacked by the enemy to victory over the very people who have tried to take our country away from us on September 11, 2001. While a Rebublican occupies the White House we will never be attacked again. The same cannot be said if a Democrat occupies the White House. Democrats are cowards and weak minded individuals who would be the first to cry for help when we are taken over by the enemy.

Operation Cyclone was the code name for the United States Central Intelligence Agency program to arm Islamic mujahideen during the Soviet war in Afghanistan, 1979 to 1989. The Program relied heavily on using the Pakistani Inter-Services Intelligence (ISI) as an intermediary for funds distribution. Along with funding from similar programs from Britain's MI6 and SAS, Saudi Arabia and the People's Republic of China, the ISI armed and trained over 100,000 insurgents between 1978 and 1992. Somewhere between $3???$20 billion in US funds were funneled into the country to train and equip troops with weapons, including Stinger surface-to-air missiles.
On July 3, 1979, U.S. President Carter signed a presidential finding authorizing funding for anticommunist guerrillas in Afghanistan.[1] Following the Soviet invasion of Afghanistan and installation of a more pro-Soviet president, Hafizullah Amin, Carter announced "The Soviet invasion of Afghanistan is the greatest threat to peace since the Second World War".[2] American funding started with 20-30 million dollars per year in 1980 and rose to $630 million a year in 1987.[3]
The US government has been criticized for allowing Pakistan to channel a disproportionate amount of its funding to controversial Afghan resistance leader Gulbuddin Hekmatyar,[4] who Pakistani officials believed was "their man".[5] Hekmatyar has been criticized for killing other mujahideen and attacking civilian populations, including shelling Kabul with American-supplied weapons, causing 2,000 casualties. Hekmatyar was said to be friendly with Osama bin Laden, founder of al-Qaeda, who was running an operation for assisting "Afghan Arab" volunteers fighting in Afghanistan, called Maktab al-Khadamat (MAK). Alarmed by his behavior Pakistan leader General Zia warned Hekmatyar that "It was Pakistan that made him an Afghan leader and it is Pakistan who can equally destroy him if he continues to misbehave".[6] According to a Newsweek article, in the late 1980s, Pakistani Prime Minister Benazir Bhutto, concerned of the growing strength of the Islamist movement, told President George H. W. Bush, "You are creating a Frankenstein". Author Gilles Kepel reports that American funding of Hekmatyar and his Hizb-i Islami party was cut off immediately following the withdrawal of the Soviets.[7]
The U.S. says all of its funds went to native Afghan rebels and denies that any of its funds were used to supply Osama bin Laden or foreign Arab mujahideen. It is estimated that 35,000 foreign Muslims from 43 Islamic countries participated in the war

Historically, other First Ladies have been known to have some influence with their Presidential spouse, but IMO, she has behaved inappropriately, MEDDLING in matters of utmost importance to this nation- and at the time,having NO EXPERIENCE WHATSOEVER!

I'm disappointed in Newsweek for allowing this so called 'journalist' to report such garbage. We all know Hillary has no true experience. I've been trying to weight the candidates and cannot find any experience in Hillary that would make a true presidential candidate. She should drop out now. Packaging over substance and the media working for you just doesn't cut it for me. I will be an informed reader who searches for truth. Newsweek, start with some serious true journalism.

Puhleez - I can't take four more years of the Clinton soap opera. We Democrats deserve so much better than a recycled replay of this 1990s psycho-drama. Hillary cannot unite this country. She is a polarizer. She doesn't work well with others. Look at the one job she was given to manage - health care. She failed totally. We need a candidate who can inspire us. The forces that control the white house are much greateer that one person cannot. In order for things to change we need a movement. I think the majority of Americans are inspired and will join Obama's movement. Hillary is not part of a movement therefore she is vunerable to attack. Hillary's administration is just to susceptible to scandal. Bill Clinton's welfare reform was against everything he stood for, he was forced to sign it because of his political problems. Hillary Clinton voting for the war, and a blank check for the war is against everything she stands for, unfortunately there are forces that control individuals in Washinton that is beyond our realm. Inotherwords if a politician is in trouble they will go against their own principles just to save themselves. This is why I say Hillary should be appointed to a health and childrens welfare committee under an Obama presidency. That way she will not be susceptible to scandal. The Clintons have shown time and time again that they are too political. Their decisions are based on what's best for them first and the people second. Hillary Clinton laughs at the fact that there are individuals who can tell her what kind of president to be. If going negative assists her she will do it, if going family helps her she will do it. These individuals in Washington have been programed to adhere to the will of special interst lobbyists. Why do you think we fund Israeli security forces. The politician is guided by their own narrow interests. This the conclusion I have come too over the holidays. The democrats that have been in the Senate and in the Congress for the last 6 years and have done nothing on a national scale. Edwards has done nothing as a Senator, his voting record indicates he has gone along with whatever the mainstream has wanted him to do, Clinton has done what ever the mainstream has wanted her to do, and pelosi has been playing games and is getting schooled everyday. I have no choice but to vote for OBAMA, what other hope is exist. We need someone who is not programmed and that can bring unity. Obama has not flip floped, he has run a steady and unified campaign even when he was down in the polls, his campaign has stayed focused and positive. Clinton went from negative, to bashing, to family . What is going on it is like someone has written a script and Hillary is just an actor. Just be yourself and stick to it.

The Clintons are my second choice. Statistically they would make the correct decisions most of the time. However, it only takes one big time laPse in judgement to mess "things" up. I think Obama just has the right instinct to make the correct big time judgements. Hillary Clinton has already had to fire a long time emPIoyee for "candidate bashing". Look at Obama's camPaign, it makes you feel comfortable. They have run a unified and Positive camPaign even when trailing in the Polls. They are a reflection of their leader OBAMA, Genuine and down to earth. OBAMA just seems to have the right instincts for the Job.
