Comment: BELOW is a quote by Obama in regards to his beliefs about energy and the environment. Then below that is an excerpt of an article about the Coal-to-Liquid Fuel Promotion Act . Obama was part of the group of 6 who introduced this Act to the Senate in last year (Jan. 2007). If he means what he believes in, what type of judgment was this he made just last year? ? Just one more example that he talks a good talk.

    ENERGY AND ENVIRONMENT

    Quote from Obamas Website:

Plan For a Clean Energy Future

Well, I dont believe that CLIMATE CHANGE is just an issue thats convenient to bring up during a campaign. I believe its one of the greatest MORAL CHALLENGES of our generation. Thats why Ive fought successfully in the Senate to increase our investment in renewable fuels. Thats why I reached across the aisle to come up with a plan to raise our fuel standards. . . And I didnt just give a speech about it in front of some environmental audience in California. I went to Detroit, I stood in front of a group of automakers, and I told them that when I am president, there will be no more excuses . . . we will help them retool their factories, but they will have to make cars that use less oil.
??? Barack Obama, Speech in Des Moines, IA, October 14, 2007

    Coal-to-Liquid Fuel Promotion Act

The Coal-to-Liquid Fuel Promotion Act would establish a new massively polluting industry to convert coal into liquid transportation fuel. The bill provides a variety of incentives for liquid coal, including tax incentives, loan guarantees, expanded plant siting, and a host of other government subsidies. The bill also allows the Department of Defense to enter into fuel purchasing contracts for up to 25 years.

The serious economic and environmental downsides of liquid coal prevent it from being a good option for a cleaner, healthier energy future. A liquid coal (coal-to-liquids) transportation fuels industry would DOUBLE the global warming emissions of regular gasoline and would require millions of dollars in investments. Instead of funneling those millions into a new, dirty industry, we should be investing in efficiency and renewable energy technologies that exist today and can help us solve global warming.

In The Senate of The United States
    110th CONGRESS

Comment: PART 1 - BARACK OBAMAs Friend Rashid Khalidi (Palestinian Activist)

Obamas relationship with Rashid Khalidi goes beyond conversation. Khalidis ties to Obama were first exposed by WND in February in a widely cited article.

According to a professor at the University of Chicago who said he has known Obama for 12 years, the Democratic presidential hopeful befriended Khalidi when the two worked together at the University. The professor spoke on condition of anonymity. Khalidi lectured at the University of Chicago until 2003 while Obama taught law there from 1993 until his election to the Senate in 2004.

Sources at the university told World Net Daily (WND) that Khalidi and Obama lived in nearby faculty residential zones and that the two families dined together a number of times. The sources said the Obamas even babysat the Khalidi children.

Khalidi in 2000 held what was described as a successful Fundraiser for Obamas failed bid for a seat in the U.S. House of Representatives, a fact not denied by Khalidi, who spoke to WND in February.

As WND reported, an ANTI-ISRAEL Arab group run by Khalidi's wife, Mona, received crucial funding from a Chicago nonprofit, the Woods Fund, for which Obama served as a board member with William Ayers (the notorious terrorist from infamous Weather Underground (VIDEO).
    .
In 2001, the Woods Fund, which describes itself as a group helping the disadvantaged, provided a $40,000 grant to Khalidis Arab American Action Network, or AAAN. The fund provided a second grant to the AAAN for $35,000 in 2002.

Speakers at AAAN dinners and events routinely have taken an ANTI-ISRAEL line.
The group co-sponsored a Palestinian art exhibit, titled, The Subject of Palestine, that featured works related to what some Palestinians call the Nakba or catastrophe of Israels founding in 1948.

When Khalidi departed the University of Chicago in 2003, Obama delivered an in-person testimonial at a farewell ceremony reminiscing about conversations over meals prepared by Mona Khalidi.

According to a Los Angeles Times account, Obama said his talks with the Khalidis served as consistent reminders to me of my own blind spots and my own biases. It is for that reason that I am hoping that, for many years to come, we continue that conversation ??? a conversation that is necessary not just around Mona and Rashids dinner table, but around THIS ENTIRE WORLD.

PART 2 - BARACK OBAMAs FRIEND: Rashid Khalidi (Palestinian Activist)

Khalidis farewell dinner was replete with ANTI-ISRAEL speakers. One, a young Palestinian American, recited a poem in Obamas presence that accused the Israeli government of terrorism in its treatment of Palestinians and sharply criticized U.S. support of Israel, the Times reported: Another speaker, who reportedly talked while Obama was present, compared ZIONIST SETTLERS ON THE WEST BANK to Osama bin Laden.
    ISRAEL A CONSTANT SORE.

Just last week, WND noted Obama termed the Israeli-Palestinian conflict a "constant sore" in an interview just five days after Khalidi wrote an opinion piece in the Nation magazine in which he called the Palestinian question a RUNNING SORE.

In his piece, Palestine: Liberation Deferred, Khalidi suggests Israel carried out ETHNIC CLEANSING of Palestinians; writes Western powers backed Israels establishment due to guilt of the Holocaust; laments the Palestinian Authoritys stated acceptance of a Palestinian state ONLY in the WEST BANK, GAZA STRIP and EASTERN SECTIONS OF JERUSALEM; and argues ISRAEL SHOULD BE DISSOLVED and instead a bi-national, cantonal system should be set up in which Jews and Arabs reside.

During documented speeches and public events, Khalidi has called Israel an apartheid system in creation and a destructive RACIST state. He has multiple times implied support for Palestinian TERROR, calling SUICIDE BOMBINGS A RESPONSE TO ISRAELI AGGRESSION. He dedicated his 1986 book, Under Siege, to those who gave their lives in defense of the cause of Palestine and independence of Lebanon.

Critics assailed the book as excusing Palestinian terrorism and claim the dedication is in reference to the Palestine Liberation Organization, which at that time committed scores of anti-Western attacks and was labeled by the U.S. as a terrorist group SYMPATHY FOR THE PALESTINIAN CAUSE.

Speaking in a joint interview with WND and WABC radio, Khalidi was asked about his 2000 fundraiser for Obama. I was just doing my duties as a Chicago resident to help my local politician, Khalidi stated.

Khalidi said he supports OBAMA for president, because he is the only candidate who has EXPRESSED SYMPATHY FOR THE PALESTINIAN CAUSE.

Khalidi also LAUDED OBAMA FOR SAYING HE SUPPORTS TALKS WITH IRAN. If the U.S. can talk with the Soviet Union during the Cold War, there is no reason it cannot talk with the Iranians. Asked about Obamas role funding the AAAN, Khalidi claimed he had never heard of the Woods Fund until it popped up on a bunch of blogs a few months ago.
He terminated the call when petitioned further about his links with Obama. (WONDER WHY?). SOURCE: http://www.worldnetdaily.com/?pageId=65108

Comment: PART 1 - BARACK OBAMAs FRIENDS : William Ayers and Bernadine Dohrn (Admitted Terrorists of the Weather Underground)

Obamas Relationships Stemming from his Directorship of the WOODS FUND

    * Obamas Problematic Directorship at Woods Fund with WILLIAM AYERS

Barack Obama was a director of the Woods Fund board from 1999 to Dec. 11, 2002, according to the Funds website.

While the Chicago Sun Times provides a laundry list of Obamas problematic relationships (Rezko, Farrakhan, Rev. Jeremiah A. Wright, Austan Goolsbee, list goes on), none may prove more ultimately controversial than fellow Woods Fund Directors William Ayers and Bernadine Dohrn.

As others have mentioned, WILLIAM (BILL) AYERS and wife BERNADINE DOHRN were once notorious members of the Weather Underground, TERRORIST BOMBERS who attempted to overthrow the United State Government. http://marathonpundit.blogspot.com/2008/02/obamas-bill-ayers-problem.html
    http://youtube.com/watch?v=BpDUU3Z7dm4&feature=related
    http://www.youtube.com/watch?v=vMOtNHyejrU

Bill Ayers was Obamas (radical) mentor whom he has known since 1995. The Ayers were principals in Baracks first run for the State Senate. The Ayers hosted a Meet the Candidate dinner/meeting at the Ayers home. Not an attractive character for a President to hang out with and to not answer to what he learned from Ayers after all those years.
    http://www.youtube.com/watch?v=fV_h-XwchkY

William Ayers, quoted on Sept. 11, 2001: Everything was absolutely ideal on the day I bombed the Pentagon.

[Ayers and Dohrn] disappeared in 1970, after a bomb, designed to kill army officers in New Jersey, accidentally destroyed a Greenwich Village townhouse, and turned themselves into authorities in 1980. They were never prosecuted for their involvement with the 25 bombings the Weather Underground claimed; charges were dropped because of improper FBI surveillance.

I DO NOT REGRET SETTING BOMBS. I feel we did not do enough, AYERS TOLD the New York Times in 2001. http://www.chicagomag.com/Chicago-Magazine/August-2001/No-Regrets/

Ayers was a terrorist. His wife Bernardine Dohrn was a terrorist. (She knows and worked in the same law firm with Michelle Obama). Ayers has never offered one word of apology. He glories in it, thinks it is terrific. And that to me is not what I would call acceptable or mainstream behavior, said Dan Polsby, a former law professor at Northwestern who is now Dean of George Mason University Law School. If Obama takes a different view on that - well, OK, that is data about Obama.

Comment: (Continued from another of my posts above)

PART 2 Woods Funds Investments (association with Radical Groups):

Setting aside Obamas relationship with William Ayers, the Board on which they served together deserves additional scrutiny. And, in fact, the Woods Funds INVESTMENTS appear to be quite problematic for Obama.

    * Arab American Action Network (AAAN): Supports expanded rights for illegal aliens and was founded by anti-Israel professor Rashid Khalidi, former director of the PLO press agency and onetime moderator of PLO advisory committee.

AAAN views the United States as a nation wherein ARAB CITIZENS are routinely MALTREATED. To remedy this perceived societal injustice, the organization aims to challenge government policies that violate the civil, political and human rights OF THE ARAB American and ARAB immigrant community. Among these policies are DETENTIONS, DEPORTATIONS and OTHER ATTACKS on immigrants that result from Homeland Security measures!

AAANs hostile view of the JEWISH state is further manifest in the organizations reference to Israels creation in 1948 as Al Nakba ( The Catastrophe ).

Among the current luminaries of AAANs staff are (a) Vice President Ali Abunimah, who maintains the website ElectroicIntifada.com and is a Board member of the Sabeel Ecumenical Liberation Theology Center, and (b) Executive Director Hatem Abudayyeh, who has condemned the Israeli government and its military killing machine.

    * * * * * * * * * * * * * * * * * * * * * * *
    * American Friends Service Committee (AFSC) is a Radical Quaker organization that supports Americas unilateral disarmament (and that backed) the Vietnamese Communists, Pol Pot, Fidel Castro, and the PLO.

In fact, AFSC recently formed a partnership with MEChA. MEChA is one of several groups that intend to reclaim Aztlán (the southwestern portion of the United States):
The AFSC is a Chicana and Chicano student movement directly linked to Aztlán. As Chicanas and Chicanos of Aztlán, they say they are a nationalist movement of Indigenous Gente that LAY CLAIM TO THE LAND THAT IS OURS BY BIRTHRIGHT. As a nationalist movement we seek to free our people from the exploitation of an oppressive society that occupies our land. Put simply, MEChA's mission is straightforward. To overthrow the United States Government and establish a new form of government.

    * * * * * * * * * * * * * * * * * * * * * * *
    SUMMARY

Put very simply, Obama must explain not only his relationship to Ayers and Dohrn, but also his SUPPORT OF RADICAL GROUPS that support the overthrow of the United States Government. The MainStreamMedia is doing us a huge disservice not focusing more on his past and fully vetting him.

Comment: WHY IRAN IS A GREAT THREAT:

It is Irans APOCALYPTIC world view that distinguishes their likelihood to use a nuclear bomb than other governments (US, Israel, etc.) with nuclear weapons capability. See article excerpt below I obtained from a couple sections on this site:
    http://www.jewishvirtuallibrary.org/jsource/Threats_to_Israel/Iran.html#threats

    THREATS AGAINST ISRAEL AND AMERICA

The only way to confront the Zionist enemy is the continuation and fortification of resistance and Jihad, Ayatollah Ali Khamenei was quoted as saying September 3, 2005, in a meeting with the militant group Islamic Jihad's secretary general Ramazan Abdullah (AFP, September 3, 2005).

In October 2005, recently elected PRESIDENT MAHMOUD AHMADINEJAD QUOTED AYATOLLAH KHOMEINI AND DECLARED: AS THE IMAM SAID, ISRAEL MUST BE WIPED OFF THE MAP.

The president added: And God willing, with the force of God behind it, we shall soon experience a world without the United States and Zionism (AP, October 26, 2005).

President Bush said February 16, 2005 Iran has made it clear that they do not like Israel, to put it bluntly. And the Israelis are concerned about whether or not Iran develops a nuclear weapon, as are we, as should everybody. Clearly, if I was the leader of Israel, and I listened to some of the statements by the Iranian ayatollahs that regarded my security of my country, I would be concerned about Iran having a nuclear weapon, as well. And in that Israel is our ally, and in that we have made a very strong commitment to support Israel, we will support Israel if their security is threatened.

Irans non-conventional weapons are not a threat only toward Israel, they also pose a danger to the United States and its interests around the world. And the American people recognize this danger. According to a January 2006 Gallup poll, 19% of Americans see Iran as an immediate threat to the United States and another 65% said Iran is a long-term threat.

On June 15, 2006, Irans defense minister, Mostafa Mohammad Najjar, signed an agreement with his Syrian counterpart, Hassan Turkmani, for military cooperation against what they called the ???COMMON THREATS??? presented by Israel and the United States. Our cooperation is based on a strategic pact and unity against common threats, said Turkmani. We can have a common front against Israels threats.

      WOULD IRAN USE THE BOMB?

Mahmoud Ahmadinejad believes the most important task of the Iranian Revolution was to prepare the way for the return of the Twelfth Imam, who disappeared in 874, bringing an end to Muhammad???s lineage. This imam, the Mahdi or DIVINELY GUIDED ONE, Shiites believe, will return in an APOCALYPTIC BATTLE in which the forces of righteousness will DEFEAT THE FORCES OF EVIL and bring about a new era in which Islam ultimately becomes the dominant religion throughout the world. The Shiites have been waiting patiently for the Twelfth Imam for more than a 1,000 years, but Ahmadinejad believes he can now HASTEN THE RETURN THROUGH A NUCLEAR WAR. Ayatollah Hussein Nuri Hamdani explicitly said in 2005 that THE JEWS should be fought against and forced to surrender to prepare the way for the coming of the Hidden Imam.

It is this APOCALYPTIC world view, Middle East scholar Bernard Lewis notes, that distinguishes Iran from other governments with nuclear capability.

Comment: Obama on a foreign policy venture. I watched CNN, MSNBC and Fox News a good portion of my weekend and of course, all networks covered a good portion of Obama's trip to the middle east but what I found comical is that there were no sounds from the trip, all we had were visuals of him trying to look Presidential. No reporters were able to give first hand accounts of anything! This trip would rate very high for those very many voters who are highly influenced by visuals only!! To me, an indicator that a good number our service men and women may not have been too impressed with the visit, is the number of service men and women that were in the gym with him. It really was a relatively small number.

Also, I noticed how Fox News reported that the citizens in the middle east were in support of Obama and his trip because his father was Muslim and because his father came from Kenya. I didn't see where any other channel covered the citizens take of his trip.

Lastly, on Morning Joe this morning, he was able to get Andrea Mitchell to spit out that it was Obama's decision NOT to have reporters on site during his middle east visit. Initially, she called it "congressional delegation" (whatever that is) decision but after persistence from Joe, she FINALLY said that in the end, it was the Obama campaign decision.

The fact that the media is not calling this phony out on anything is a disgrace but I have comfort in knowing that more and more Americans are beginning to wake up and the fact that Obama has every single thing going for him, including the media in his pocket and money yet the polls are still very tight-----is very refreshing for me!

The media has been sort of making fun of the fact that for the next week or so, most of the media attention will be on Obama and not McCain. I said it once and I will say it again, this is a true gift for McCain IF he play his cards right! He and each state GOP should do a good number of radio, internet and tv ads across the country to point out just how phony this trip is and plus, this is the only way he will be able to get the media to have an honest conversation about it!

Comment: McCain can NOT begin to see Obama's vision for the Middle East. He's simply been in Washington too long, his breadth of thought limited to the confines of traditional Washington thinking. He's in the past not the future.

And by the way, don't get hung up on experience. Experience isn't worth one dime without having the ability to formulate the correct judgement. The ability to formulate the correct judgement. always trumps so called experience. McCain certainly has longevity but that doesn't necessarily equate to appropriate experience and it certainly does't equate to having sage judgement. Too many ASSUME experience equals wisdom.

Comment: Obama is quick to say that we need not always focus on the next war, YET, he is the very candidate proposing 50 thousand more troops to escalate the war in Afghanistan and to target bomb Alqeada in Pakistan without Pakistani consent...........what do you think will happen if we target bomb Pakistan without their consent? 1) No more military supplies to troops in afghanistan/pakistan border regions 2) War with Pakistan.

Obama is essentially proposing that we turn our back in Iraq and initiate 2 new wars...one in afghanistan and one in pakistan. And still....reporters refuse to ask the tough questions in order to expose the dangerous, irresponsible and contradictions that has become more blatant and bold each day from Obama himself.

Vote Mccain and turn to a new chapter for Amerca!

Comment: OK, I am missing your point because as soon, I mean right after, Obama came out and stated that 2 more brigades (?) of AAmerican troops needed to be sent to Afghanistan, McCain stated that 3 brigades need to be sent to Afghanistan. Then of course later he FORGOT that he stated that the troops would be from the US.

This is one of McCain's big issues as far as I am concerned, his memory or lack there of. It is as though he is not aware that cameras and reporters are recording his every move and word. MSNBC (Yeah I know Obama owns them too LOL) aired a segment a few weeks ago listing all of the statements caught on video that McCain vigorously stated he DID NOT say. He has the nerve to get angry when reporters remind him that they have him on tape.

            Subliminal Messaging, or Over-Active Imaginations?

            EXCERPT:

There is a longtime tradition in political advertising to look beyond the message to the subtext -- and even to the subliminal.

In that spirit, a veteran Democratic operative offers an interesting observation of the newly released anti-Obama Web video produced by the McCain campaign. The VIDEO is an EIGHT-MINUTE montage of sometimes CONTRADICTORY statements about the Iraq war made by Sen. Barack Obama. (Continued in full article link below).

I am certain that the mudslinging in regards to cheating or alternative lifestyles is a road Obama OR his campaign does not want to go down.

More Americans can forgive and accept allegations of a male candidate cheating with a woman than a male candidate cheating with another male! Pia, it is out of character for YOU to go down this path!

Comment: DB, Obama's are alleged, Mac's are fact. He himself admitted it, but for me, that does not excuse him. Yes, it is out of character for me to go down this path, but you see DB, some of the Mac supporters have forced my hand and have taught and shown me how to be just as mean and vicious as they can be. I have got to fire back for my candidate.

Comment: Can't blame you for defending your candidate. Clinton is out of the race but I still DEFEND her!

And we know that in this political climate and in the world we live in today----facts and allegations, in many cases go hand in hand. Look at R Kelly. Everyone I know believe he is guilty but I am trying to give him the benefit of the doubt but that cloud will always be over his head. But back to the subject at hand-- I find it admirable that McCain can be honest about what he has done in the past. And if ANY coverage of Obama's possible alternate lifestyle hit MSM then that'll be all she wrote whether it's true or not, a HUGE number of people will believe it. We both know that Obama's alleged and very possibly true alternative lifestyle is WAYYYY more damaging than McCain's cheating on his wife with another woman.

I just think this is a HIGHLY LOSING AND EMBARRASING subject for your candidate so I don't think it is beneficial to go down this road. If you bring up McCain's admitted cheating one will surely bring up all the rumors surrounding Obama including the infamous Larry Sinclair. Personally, I just don't think it's worth going down this road.

However, far be it from me to try to advise ANYONE on how to defend their candidate. You defend your candidate as you please. I just think the subject of either candidate cheating is a losing subject for both but potentially detrimental to your candidate.

Right now the world resents the fact that we act like we are in control a large part of our swagger is the ability to anihilate any country in the world. IF we give up the power in the interest of world peace we are inviting someone else to step up and take the lead. Countries like China and Russia will be all over the opportunity. These countries have very different philosophies than our own and if we can't keep them in check you might as well forget about democracy around the world.

Comment: What voters appear to be concerned about is not so much Mr. Obama's need to run to the center. By deserting his activists he is, after all, pleasing the majority in the all-important center ground. What they are becoming wary of is what his zig-zagging tells us about his character. And the more we discover about Mr. Obama, the more we find to dislike. All politicians are vain, but in Mr. Obama there is the same self preening swagger that is evident in President Bush.

The grumpy, unreconstructed Mr. McCain, meanwhile, is an authentic eccentric, a courageous politician who has, over immigration and the Iraq War, defied his own party and his president. His independence has not made him many friends among conservatives and evangelicals, but he is so cussed, he does as he pleases and hang the consequences.

Mr. McCain is not much good at policy for its own sake and doesn't take himself too seriously. He is without pomp and likes to crack a joke to make a point, even when the joke is a little off color. His evident strength of character is in stark contrast to Mr. Obama's lust to please, which is why, against the odds, the Arizona senator is proving a most formidable rival.

    • Posted By: Jurr @ 07/17/2008 07:56:45

Comment: Obama is not deserting his activists, he is trying to show them that there is a better way than slash n burn politics and that he will not tolerate monkey business..

McCain can't be faithful to his $100 million sugar-momma who bought him the senate seat to begin with, how can we trust him to be faithful to us? McCain consistently missed more Senate votes than anybody else, is that the work ethic he's going to bring to the White House to get us out of Bush's messes?

McCain military record is suspect. If he is such the hero, then why not release his full military records? Speaking of records release medical records too. So much for transparency, or does that only apply to others, like Bush's spying & torture policies?

McCain is running as a foreign policy beast yet says constantly messes up his foreign facts such as referenceing a country that has not existed in 16 years Czechoslovakia in the present tense on a half dozen occasions. Sure once is forgivable, but he keeps making the SAME mistakes. You would think a guy of his supposed intellect would learn from his mistakes, but then again he did graduate in the bottom 1% of his class at the Naval Academy.

Ditto for Iran training al-qaeda & al-qaeda being in Iraq before we invaded. His foreign policy sucks or he wouldn't have said "President Putin of Germany".

McCain will deny what he said yestereday, & often has, while becoming surly and rude. What happens when he blunders with the Russians & they call him on it? Will his anger step take control & make him B**** slap Putin or Med, mabye he will just cuss them out really good like he has done to colleagues on the senate floor on numerous occasions.

Comment: Know why McCain wants to distance himself from former Senator Phil Gramm? It's not because of Gramm's obnoxious remarks calling Americans "a nation of whiners" who are in "a mental recession." Those remarks were so ascerbic that they may've been made just to give McCain an excuse to distance himself from Gramm. This issue is a lot deeper than it looks on the surface.

When Gramm was a Senator he was Chairman of the Banking Committee. He pushed through the legislation known as the "Enron Loophole." This loophole allowed US investment banks to bypass Federal regulations governing futures trading, and is the reason why investment banks were able to falsely inflate the prices of oil, wheat, corn and other commodities through massive futures trading, causing your costs of gas, heating oil and food to go through the roof.

Gramm also created the Gramm-Leach-Biley Act, which got rid of the laws that seperate banking, insurance and brokerage activities in America. The Gramm Act was touted as a new way to protect consumer privacy, but the real meat on the Act's bones was banking deregulation. Essentially, this Act did away with laws written after the Great Depression to protect us from another Wall Street/Banking Industry collapse. That's right, Gramm stripped the system of it's safe guards nine years ago, and guess what? The value of the dollar has nose-dived, four major economic institutions have failed, Wall Street is unstable, and we are in a worsening recession.

Notably, the US investment banks that gained the most from the Enron Loophole and from the Gramm Act contributed more than a million dollars to Gramm's campaign.

Currently Gramm is Vice Chairman of UBS, the Swiss Bank that came up with the idea of "death bonds." Worse, though, UBS is involved in a scam where they sold auction rate securities to American customers. Auction rate securities are supposed to be as safe as cash, but the way UBS did it, the fees garnished by their in-house investment bankers were intentionally higher than the return on the securities, ripping off their American customers. The Massachusetts Attorney General has already filed charges against UBS, and private brokers world-wide have dropped UBS stock. UBS is forecasted to lose 82.91% of it's value in 2008. We are talking about the corporate bank where Gramm is Vice Chairman. Looking at his track record there and at the havoc he has wrought on the US economy through the Senate Banking Committee, it's clear that either Gramm is a criminal or grossly incompetent.

Now McCain wants nothing to do with Gramm, wants us to forget Gramm has been a key player on McCain's team. Gramm was McCain's campaign CO-CHAIR and LEADING ECONOMIC ADVISOR. Previously, McCain had said that he planned to appoint Gramm as SECRETARY OF THE TREASURY.

With Gramm as McCain's leading economic advisor, now you know why economists and analysts say that McCain's economic policy plans are untenable.

Comment: I find it so condescending and minimizing that Obama thinks all women care about are productive rights. Women are very dynamic and even some like me who are pro-choice...has a deep appreciation for life and feel we must choose life while consider choices. Women also wants good jobs, opportunities, security and care about getting this country towards energy independence. Senator Obama....Stop boxing us in like you did to Hillary! We'll just like everyone else and care about multiple issues and actually are just as dynamic as any man.

    • Posted By: Mimi13 @ 07/12/2008 23:09:33

Comment: Obama has spoken often about equalizing the pay scales since women are still paid only about 70cents to the dollar a man is paid. His talked about the opening of opportunities for women like his daughters and all our daughters -- in part thinaks to Hillary Clinton -- at almost every campaign speech. He emphasizes the woman's role in chooseing health care for her family and the need to make this secure for our families. When he talks about jobs and opportunity and education, he is inclusive of both sexes. If you really believe that Obama thinks women care only about REproductive rights (as opposed to just posting that for the sake of argument), you haven't been paying attention.
