Remembering Bhutto
Sen. Barack Obama said, "I am shocked and saddened by the death of Benazir Bhutto in this terrorist atrocity. She was a respected and resilient advocate for the democratic aspirations of the Pakistani people. We join with them in mourning her loss, and stand with them in their quest for democracy and against the terrorists who threaten the common security of the world."
Former Arkansas governor Mike Huckabeesaid, "This is devastating news for the people of Pakistan, and my prayers go out to them as we follow developments regarding this dire situation. The terrible violence surrounding Pakistan's upcoming election stands in stark contrast to the peaceful transition of power that we embrace in our country through our Constitution."
Sen. John McCainsaid Bhutto's death "underscores yet again the grave dangers we face in the world today and particularly in countries like Pakistan, where the forces of moderation are arrayed in a fierce battle against those who embrace violent Islamic extremism. Given Pakistan's strategic location, the international terrorist groups that operate from its soil, and its nuclear arsenal, the future of that country has deep implications for the security of the United States and its allies. America must stand on the right side of this ongoing struggle."
"This type of loss of life points out again the need for our nation and other civilized nations of the West and Muslim world to come together to support moderate Islamic leaders and moderate Islamic people to help them in their effort to reject the violence and the extreme," said former Massachusetts governor Mitt Romney.

Comment: The assassination of Benazir Bhutto could not have come at a more auspicious time in history. She truly was a fearless, passionate force for change. Her death was not the end of her story, however. She has heralded the entry of a new era of female leadership in our country and our world. As history will have shown us, paradigm shifts often come with the laying down of one's own life and personal ego, the shedding of one's own blood. Long live the heart and soul and spirit of Benazir Bhutto. May she be an eternal inspiration to all women who seek to give back to the world a piece of its lost heart. Truly what passion and courage that takes! One might ask Mrs. Hillary Clinton or Maya Angelou, who believes in Mrs.Clinton, about female courage in times of great change. I think both women could teach us all something about that.

Comment: Had the world put in as much effort in bringing down Osama Laden as it had done in vanquishing Adolf Hitler, old Ossy would had long been hanged, drawn and quartered. The fact that the old goat has escaped justice for so long id due to the fact that Musharraf's military is hiding and protecting him
