The field of liars in both parties is what one might expect. Look back at the last Presidentail elections and how many wound up doing more to us than for us when one looks at waht they did at the end of their terms.

Neither party is for American taxpayers and citizens as they march to the tune of the internationalists forst and us last.

Alas and alack fellow Americans, I do not see anyone on the horizon who can pull us out of the morass these two parties havegot us in.

    How about you?

Yes, Ron Paul can get us out of the mess that the Bush/Clinton/Bush dynasty has gotten us into. He is honest, steadfast, intelligent....he has integrity and credibility and he will restore USA as a kind nation to the rest of the world. MSBC is scared to openly report on him because they are bought out by large corporations. Go to RonnPaul 2008.com and read for yourselves. America wants CHANGE

There is only one cadidate who can restore the integrity of the USA annd make us liked and respected in the world again and that is Ron Paul. He is the only one of the candidates who is truly listening to what the people want. People do not want the Bush/Clinton/Bush dynasty to continue. They want change and their freedom back. If anyone who's reading this hasnt seen RonPaul2008.com please go there and read what he stands for. Personnally I am embarrassed about our foreign policy to police the world, especially the Middle East. We need to fix things at home and Ron Paul is the one who can lead us there. I suspect my comment wont even be posted because Newsweek is controlled by large corporationns but it's worth a try. RON PAUL 2008...it may be our last hope

I welcome Bloomberg into the fray. Since both parties come with such baggage, middle of the road folks like myself want something intelligent, knowledgeable, with decent morals, and leadership experience. So why not a independent to break us out of partisan gridlock? I've lost all confidence in the GOP, and the Dems don't fight hard enough...I want another option.

Obama is the real deal. He is smart. For change. A uniter. Effective. Honest. Not a panderer. Sees the details and the big picture.

America is STARVING for a politician like him.

That is why JFK's former advisors, among others, support him.

PS I thought he was very well reasoned on MTP today. His explanation of why he doesn't want to force all Americans to buy health care was very good. He said that under Romney's universal plan in Mass. poor people who couldn't/wouldn't buy it were being fined for not doing so. Obama said that we can deal with the problem of insurability by penalizing people for buying health insurance only right after they get sick.

    OBAMA '08!!!

NO ONE LIKES BEING CAUGHT WITH THEIR PANTS DOWN. EXPERIENCE.AND JUDGEMENT. WHAT CAN HILLARY DO THAT OBAMA CANNOT. THIS IS THE QUESTION I HAVE BEEN ASKING MYSELF. I THINK THE WORLD WILL WELCOME OBAMA AND AT LEAST GAVE HIM A FAIR CHANCE. REPUBLICANS WILL SWALLOW THEIR PRIDE AND WORK WITH OBAMA. THEY WILL NEVER DO THAT WITH HILLARY. HILLARY AND EDWARDS ARE GOOD PEOPLE, HOWEVER THEIR VOTING RECORD AND THEIR LACK OF COURAGE HAS LEAD ME TO QUESTION WHETHER THEY HAVE THE RIGHT INSTINCTS AND JUDGEMENT TO BE IN OFFICE. I REALLY THINK THEY WOULD BE MORE EFFECTIVE UNDER AN OBAMA PRESIDENCY. OBAMA WILL NOT TRY AND CONTROL EVERYTHING.
sANDY, EDWARDS IS DESpERATE. thIS MAN FOLLOWED JOHN KERRY. HE WILL DO AND SAY ANYTHING. EVEN IF HE MEANS IT NOW IT IS TOO LATE. OBAMA AND CLINTON ARE TOO SMART, THEY KNOW THAT WHAT YOU SAY TODAY COULD FINISH YOU TOMORROW. ONLY A CANDIDATE WITH NOTHING TO LOSE WILL SAY WHAT EDWARDS IS SAYING. WHAT HAS HE DONE. BE HONEST. HILLARY IS pROUD THAT SHE WENT AGIANST HER pRINCIpLES TO GIVE BUSH A BLANK CHECK. WHY. IT WAS GOOD FOR WESTERN NEW YORK. Iowans have a history of picking losers. I say, it's all media hype until Super Tuesday.

  • Posted By: Robertinnc @ 12/30/2007 4:19:38 PM

I sure hope that Iowan democrats think hard about their decision if they are planning to vote for anyone other than Hillary Clinton. Lets be honest, the policies and stand the democrats are taking seam to be pretty similar, what sets them apart is experience and how they react to adversity. There is no denying all of them have experience making policy and serving the people, but who has more practical experience and a greater understanding of the job at hand? I beleive it to be Hillary. As first lady she may not have ran the country, but she grew an understanding of how negotiations, communicating and networking is done. She also has a foundation to stand on as she already knows many of the leaders on the world stage today. She has also withstood the daily life and pressures of the whitehouse (the press and scrutiny from the other party). These things may not seam like a big deal, but if Obama were to be elected he would spend a great deal of time acclamating himself to the office as well as fighting off the media and republicans. Hillary is already tested and has a strong backbone. She does'nt cry foul everytime someone says something that is false or out of context. Obama has stated how negative he feels the campaign is, well he hasnt seen anything yet. If he cant stand it now, how can he stand it if he wins the nomination. These are troubling times and we need a leader who can work with the other side not alienate them as Obama would do. We also need someone who can handle the negatives that come with the job. Hillary can do that and deliver on the promises she has made. Iowa, vote not only for change ( which all democratic candidates are capable of delivering ), but vote for experience and depth of knowledge which Hillary has to offer.

Senator BaracK Obama will be a fine President for every American and America will be a better country for that. Anyone can run for President if they are born in America and of age. Same old Same 'Oh' Washington Insider's can run and individual with REAL VISION and excitement can run. I am tired and frustrated with 4 years of Bush 8 years of Clinton and Clinton and another 8 years of Bush and shooter. Americans consider what will another 8 years years of Clinton and Clinton will be like. Which Clinton will really be running the country? Will our country be caught in more Monica Lewinsky type sex scandals? Is this the direction Americans want to return too? We have had enough of the Clintons. It is time for them to join former President Jimmy Carter...

Senator Barack Obama offers American a fresh face, an intelligent hope, a direction away from business as usual. He will help Americans. He will bring economic relief for poor and middle class families. He will strengthen our workforce and help secure American jobs by dealing without sourcing. I am tired of American businesses hiring people in other countries to handle their communications with the American public! Do you enjoy talking to Paul, Henry George, Mary Sarah etc from somewhere else in the world?

Senator Obama will begin the process that will eventually provide medical benefits for all Americans. We really need to help all those who live in America with medical coverage. This is the best way to keep everyone healthy and safe.

According to many we have over 12 million people living in America who are not legal. Closing our boarders will not help this situation. They are already here. We need a fair way of registering Non-Americans and permitting them to live here while a plan is formulated to penalize them for breaking American law an a procedure is developed for them to become American citizens. American businesses must be seriously held accountable for hiring Non-American workers if they are not permitted!! President Barack Obama will lead justly in each of these area.

Senator Barack Obama has already shown he is of a different better character than dirt and more dirt! He has taken the higher political road! His agenda will bring about political reform, pac groups and lobbyists. IOWANS AND AMERICANS PLEASE VOTE FOR BARACK.

I'd be happier with any of the the top three, and several of the second tier, candidates, than what we have now., but I find myself leaning (though still undecided) toward Obama. He's young, energetic, idealistic and smart. If he's got a lot of former Clinton advisors, it may be that they see something in him that they once saw in Bill Clinton, who might have been a great president were it not for the constanst stream of attacks, justified or not, that kept him on the defensive for most of his presidency. In any case, I will do my share of volunteering for anyone nominated by the the Democrats and donating what I can in sheer joy that it is with the purpose of getting rid of the scum that marks Washington now! As for Obama's lack of experience, he' just about where Lincoln was. Lincoln had the wisdom to surround himself with experienced, smart people, some of whom even opposed him. It takes a brave and wise man to to admit he doesn't know it all and might even be wrong.(see: George W. Bush, NOT). I think Obama is likely to fit that bill. And, yes, a Clinton / Obama ticket, or Clinton / Richardson, or Biden / Obama or Edwards / Obama, or... How many permutations are there? We've just got to keep anything remotely recembling the present bunch away from the White House!

Obama or Edwards for President. Either one of them would make a great Commander in Chief. Clinton is devious, underhanded, irrefutably dishonest and financially corrupt. Her dirty money has come from criminal elements from Washington to China. She reeks of criminality. She'll divide this country worse than it is right now and she will never be respected by the men and women of the armed forces. Vote for Obama or Edwards and forget that phoney hag Clinton and her claims of 'experience' while doing nothing but sleeping with a President. She's not experienced enough to be a garbage collector- she'd probably sift through and steal that, too.

    • Posted By: gohillary @ 12/30/2007 12:56:32 PM

Obama lacks experience and substance as well as originality. The guy lacks creativity as well, in fact, he loves the Clinton so much that most of his advisors are from the Clintons Administration, then he borrowed some of Bill's line. Let's face it, Obama maybe young, exciting, and a fast talker but does not have the experience to instantenously handle foreign policy and for that matter domestic problems. As for Edwards, someone give him a can of hairspray , a strand is out of place! Iowan, Hillary will not disappoint you, she's a mother, wife, first lady in Arkansas twice, first lady in the white house, twice, senator, author of two books, travel around the world; and by the way, she can bake cookies!!

eddiewhere, please stop pushing your "enter" key three times. We're literate, we can read. We don't need to read your comments three or more times.
John Edwards is an honest man who came from middle class America. He has not taken money from big business or lobbyists. And he will not deal with them if elected president. He's the only candidate who can turn this country around.

first I'm a strong Hillary supporter. My husband suported Hillary before I did. Obama Is not ready to be President. Remember we elected bush and he was not ready to be president. Chaney has been running this goverment. I hope we don't elect someone we would like to have a beer with again.. .

    • Posted By: mort72 @ 12/29/2007 11:05:19 AM

Sadie, you're right on the money.Given the world situation as it is, we don't need some one who needs on the job training or some one who you can go out and share a plate of BBQ with. We need experiance and guts.Something you don't get with a Harvard professor from the debating team.Weneed a leader who has met and talked with world leaders being it at a conference or at tea.You can takk the measure of a person in any settiny.GO HILLARY

Finally got to attend Clinton rally in Carroll the other evening. I agree...the World is a mess we need a strong leader that can go in and get to work right away. Think about it folks....if you were the first woman President of the US ...won't you want to do an outstanding job just to show everyone a lady can get it done.
I would . I don't think the Clilntons's would be on the "take" ...they don't need to work , check out their income statements.
I really like Obama but he is short on experience. A Clinton/Obama ticket would really get my interest.

After Hillary Clijnton said: ???Now the fun part starts,??? ...

We saw Obama smeared with the Muslim rumors
We saw Obama smeared with the Madrassa rumors

After Hillary Clijnton said: ???Now the fun part starts,??? ...
We saw Obama smeared by Bill Shaheen
We saw Mark Penn mention cocaine twice on national TV
We saw Bob Kerry smear Obama
We saw Clinton's campaign forwarding smear e-mails

Do we want the Democratic party to return to the
    'politics of personal destruction' ?

It wasn't just he Republicans smearing opponents, it was the Clintons
    getting into smear campaigns
    It was Bill and Carville...
Now it's Penn and Wolfson and Sheehan and Bob Kerry and Andrew
    Young.....

Do we need sleazy Hillary Clinton ?
All politicians lie, but Bill and Hillary are two of
    the sleaziest characters around

    Time for some honesty,
    Time for some integrity

Bush's entire career is rooted in dirty tactic--making rumors that McCain had a illegitimate child--making rumors about ex-Governor of Texas. No wonder his administration is one of the most secretive and dishonest ones.

So, if a politician can only win by playing dirty, we should concern how will she run the country if being elected.

I like Edwards. His policy proposals are specific and detailed and are readily available in print. I have had trouble finding the policy proposals of either Obama or Clinton. They each say things about their ideas in speeches and the debates, but I like to be able to read the specifics...and they just don't have very much that I can find. I think people who make their decision on whom to vote for based on the issues will choose John Edwards. I also think that he is right about getting the government back to working for the people. There have been too many examples where Congress has been influenced toward corporations at the expense of middle class Amerca. It appears that both Obama and Clinton have been influenced by Edwards: both are now saying similar things to what Edwards has been saying all along. It seems to me that if we don't elect Edwards, there won't be anybody reminding Congress that they work for the people., instead of corporate lobbyists.
