    Comment: This is a matter of loyalty and not rationalism. The democracy in Pakistan needs another 50 years to capture its real shape and it would not be wrong to say that even if a dictator with a positive and broad vision can run the affairs of the country, it is hundred times better than the so called political leaders or democracy. Due to illiteracy and impoverishment, the mass is neither able to choose leaders on merit nor the leaders are of any noteworthy caliber to drive the democracy on merits.

    Comment: The PPP members and supporters are not politcally minded and the party is family based more like monarchy. They are just fanatic fans. Overall in Pakistan, they neither have stars no icons - they don't have Britney Spears, Paris Hilton or Tom Cruise, the politicians are their idols. So no matter what their idols do or who they are, the fans will blindly give their support without any second thought but with fanatism.

    For that matter if the PPP decided to name an urang-utan reared in the Bhutto compound as their leader to succeed Benazir it would be accepted.

    Comment: The Bhutto family believes in nothing but power-grab. The slogan of democracy is only to deceive the fools.
    And, now this so called "WILL". I daresay this was written by her Ten-Percent husband Zardari; in the Peoples Party, there's nobody to challenge Zardari and he knows it. All he wants is to grab power so he can go back to looting this country.

    Comment: I do find it sad in the way that she died. But i find it astonishing how the pakistan media are portraying her as a Marter who died for her country. Have they forgotten that this is the same women who was in power twice. and all that she did along with her husband and family both times was looting from the country with both hand's and instead of standing trial she ran from the so called country that she loved and would die for, and thencalled it self exile. Then said her husband made her do it. How the pakistanis allowed her to run there country the second time when she could not even control her own husband astonishes me. Also how can they forget she was away from pakistan for 8 years living a life of luxery with there money. Why they allowed her back i do not understand. Have they forgoten she had only been back for 2 months in pakistan how does two months warrent the statment that she had been sturgling for a better future for pakistan.. How does the women who robbed pakistan. Warrent a statment that she was an icon, was pakistan's last hope for a better future.

What a chocie, corruption and an American runned government or the Military. We need to let people choose their destiny if not we will be stuck where we do not belong. I as an American am distrurbed that we are medaling all around the world, while people on this side are starving, homeless, without health care ectt.... THis is crazy, just because Bhutto dies we would choose a nut like Guilliani.
    Even moderate Muslims are swayed by the JIHAD CHApter. The offspring of these moderates have already carried out attacks in England and have tried in Canada and AMerica.Wow. Homegrown Citizens. What is amazing is how they are influenced by the Iraq war. They turn on the T.V and become enraged. It is like they have smelled "BAD BARBECUE". Their only hope to strike back is JIHAD. Remember Muslims have been indoctrinating their own for centuries. They have finally perfected it. This chapter allows leaders to indoctrinate their people all around the world. The " Ayattolah" has used this doctrine on Salman Rushdie who is an INDIAN. The only way to deal with a nuclear threat, is in private. We should gurantee all countries FREE AND FAIR ELECTIONS. However if the people choose an extremist government that wants to use weapons of mass destruction then they must understand the consequences. IT IS THESE SAME CONSEQUENCES THAT have DETERed RUSSIA FROM USING THEIR NUCLEAR ARSERNAL AS MUSCLE. WE WILL Annihlate YOU if you threaten with nuclear weapons. That is why the Middle East Governments threaten Israel because they know better. The same goes for pakistan, any government that takes power after Free and Fair Elections, will be delivered the same message, In addition, they will assist us in the HUNT FOR BIN LADEN.     Comment: Don???t be na??ve ASH1KHAN. Based on recent photos, Mrs. Bhutto was shot by a gunman (an assassin more likely was hired by Pakistani???s government) not by a suicide bomber. The reason that Pakistani???s government rushed to come up with fabricated lies from Friday's news conference to providing transcript of so called communication between terrorist groups, was to wash their hand as they washed the crime scene by high pressured water!!! I think there is no connection between the suicide bomber and the hired assassin. The government just want to take advantage of the situation by blaming it to suicide bomber, otherwise they will allow international inquiries to find truly who hired the assassin. In a corrupted middle east society like Pakistan, in which you can easily buy any government officials it is extremely hard to lead or to be a leader. That is why I believe Mrs. Bhutto had done whatever she could have done. Are you better off under Musharraf? Don???t you wish people to have a true elected official to run the country?

    Comment: It is sad that I sympathized with the Benazir's famliky after she was murdered (or maybe she accidently killed herself) but after learning that she had named her 20 year old son to lead the party it has clearly become evident that the Late Benazir had no sympathy for the public but rather wanted to preserve her family's status. There are others within her party that are much more derserving and experienced politicians that should have taken her place but no, Benazir wanted to preserve the dynasty. What a shame. May the All Mighty guide the misguided and protect the innocent all over the world.

      Comment: Someone like Bhutto does not live her entire life and then die for a cause just to throw it away. Perhaps you are too quick to judge, and should give Bhutto's wishes a chance. Perhaps there are reasons beyond our knowledge or understanding and indeed a method to the madness. Until proven otherwise, I will believe Bhutto loved her people.

    Comment: It is really sad that PPP has done what it had been doing in the past i.e. running the party as a family business - definitely not as a democratic party. OR the so-called 'senior' leaders of the party have no confidence in them selves and they just want to get elected due to the temporary sympathy vote/ It is further regretful that despite announcing a forty day period of mourning they do not want to miss the opportunity of relying on sympathy vote. Perhaps they are afraid that the party will split up if more time was given to think rationally about the decision on party chairmanship.

    Comment: I never expected it to be different because basically it is a feudal party. None of its 'Senior' leaders have any confidence in themselves and once again they will try to get back into power by counting on 'sympathy' vote. The decision not to ask for postponment just confirms this' Any normal democratic party would have requested to delay the elections beyond the fory day announced period of mourning. I am really disgusted with the party's approach.

    Comment: Operation Cyclone was the code name for the United States Central Intelligence Agency program to arm Islamic mujahideen during the Soviet war in Afghanistan, 1979 to 1989. The Program relied heavily on using the Pakistani Inter-Services Intelligence (ISI) as an intermediary for funds distribution. Along with funding from similar programs from Britain's MI6 and SAS, Saudi Arabia and the People's Republic of China, the ISI armed and trained over 100,000 insurgents between 1978 and 1992. Somewhere between $3???$20 billion in US funds were funneled into the country to train and equip troops with weapons, including Stinger man-portable air-defense systems.


    26 Aug 1988 SA-7On July 3, 1979, U.S. President Carter signed a presidential finding authorizing funding for anticommunist guerrillas in Afghanistan.[1] Following the Soviet invasion of Afghanistan and installation of a more pro-Soviet president, Hafizullah Amin, Carter announced "The Soviet invasion of Afghanistan is the greatest threat to peace since the Second World War".[2] American funding started with 20-30 million dollars per year in 1980 and rose to $630 million a year in 1987.[3]

    The US government has been criticized for allowing Pakistan to channel a disproportionate amount of its funding to controversial Afghan resistance leader Gulbuddin Hekmatyar,[4] who Pakistani officials believed was "their man".[5] Hekmatyar has been criticized for killing other mujahideen and attacking civilian populations, including shelling Kabul with American-supplied weapons, causing 2,000 casualties. Hekmatyar was said to be friendly with Osama bin Laden, founder of al-Qaeda, who was running an operation for assisting "Afghan Arab" volunteers fighting in Afghanistan, called Maktab al-Khadamat (MAK). Alarmed by his behavior Pakistan leader General Zia warned Hekmatyar that "It was Pakistan that made him an Afghan leader and it is Pakistan who can equally destroy him if he continues to misbehave".[6] According to a Newsweek article, in the late 1980s, Pakistani Prime Minister Benazir Bhutto, concerned of the growing strength of the Islamist movement, told President George H. W. Bush, "You are creating a Frankenstein". Author Gilles Kepel reports that American funding of Hekmatyar and his Hezbi Islami party was cut off immediately following the withdrawal of the Soviets.[7]

    The U.S. says all of its funds went to native Afghan rebels and denies that any of its funds were used to supply Osama bin Laden or foreign Arab mujahideen. It is estimated that 35,000 foreign Muslims from 43 Islamic countries participated in the war

    Comment: Some countries take their elections very seriously. The unfortunate assassination of Bhutto and the savvy manipulation of the constitution by Putin to keep him in power are examples of the lengths some nations will go in search of power. Kibaki, the incumbent President of Kenya has sensed defeat in the elections and is currently using every tool in his power to frustrate the electorates will.

    Unlike US rallies which boast a few hundred attendees, Africans and Asians mob their candidate's rallies by the hundreds of thousands. They are very passionate about their leaders and view elections as personal victories and vendettas; therefore when fraud is detected, they let the officials feel their wrath.

    The US electorate should follow suite and fire leaders who don't deliver. The Kenyans voted out more than 20 cabinet ministers who didn???t deliver their promises.

    We should vote out our ???Do Nothing Congress??? for failure to deliver.

    Comment: Wow the monarchy roles on! Does this not show people the world over that Bhutto was never interested in democracy, but just starting another dynasty of corrupt hereditary rulers. The PPP is a party that only wishes to secure a permanent oligarchy over Pakistan. They charge Musharraf from clinging to power, but they would far worse given the chance. Oh forgot they got that chance twice and the country went literally bankrupt. Over 5 billion dollars stolen, labeled the most corrupt nation, the beginning of anarchy in Sindh province, and with human rights abuses to boot. God save Pakistan from Bhutto and the PPP.

    Perhaps the reaction from the US surrounding this tragedy comes as a reaction to the way the events are being framed in the US media. GW Bush, his corrupt minions and a pathetically complacent press have suffered us to live in fear for 7 years. That fear has festered, with no outlet, and has done nothing to improve the common person's understanding of world events. In fact, that regime has created a social climate reminiscent of the Soviet era. We're afraid of EVERYTHING, and EVERYONE, and feel powerless to stop the world's seeming spin out of control. Of course, such hegemonic "control" is only an illusion maintained by the power elite in US politics, and sadly, the average person has little to no say in what actions are carried out, supposedly "in our names".       Comment: I'm not sure when you started to read our comments about the death, as it was not a nuclear section. its was the comments and many many were expressing sorrow for the death, and what a great loss it was, or is, to everything that should have had a decent ending, for the country. as for me i am sorry for the family, and the country, she was hope, and she is dead, and its up to the people to keep that hope alive! some how! deal?

In order for their to be democracy, the people should have the choice. However I have to argue that religion itsself has evolved.     Behuman I have to say that we get almost all the insight that we need by the muslims actions shown world round. You may be right about religious killings and that Christanity has claimed many lives. However to hear of religious killing by chrstians or baptist or catholic just to name a few are almost never heard of. But, there are hundreds of people dying every single day in the middle east. Why? because they feel the are right? At least i can say, and do what I want without me or my whole family being killed. You speak of being civilized, do you feel that it is civilized to domineer, threaten or brutalize a nation for control? A good leader would help his people move forward non-violently. You don't have to adopt other nations cultures but you could do better than the dark ages.

IT IS THESE SAME CONSEQUENCES THAT have DETERed RUSSIA FROM USING THEIR NUCLEAR ARSERNAL AS MUSCLE. WE WILL Annihlate YOU if you threaten with nuclear weapons. That is why the Middle East Governments threaten Israel because they know better. The same goes for pakistan, any government that takes power after Free and Fair Elections, will be delivered the same message, In addition, they will assist us in the HUNT FOR BIN LADEN. Keeping Bin LADEN alive seems to be making a lot of people rich. We need to get Bin Laden and get the hell out of pacistan, let nations determine their own future. Nations cannot do that without a strong constitution that is followed like the KORAN.
