I'm not sure Hukabee can separate religion from politics. Do we really want to vote in an evangical leader for our president? All he does is mock other religious beliefs and I'm already offended. For a person who thinks he's very Christian, he certainly doesn't act Christian by attacking other faiths. He doesn't get my vote.

I wonder where his son learned it was ok to beat, torture and slit the throat of a stray dog in Boy Scouts? Family values perhaps? How about Huckabee having Huckabee protesters arrested in Iowa? Is this what we have to look forward to w/ a Huckabee administration?

In my opnion I think we can't shake political with religion. I agree with batista's protestantes, 'causa I'm too. But, I think on really, thay have many things of our religion, we can use on political, but we can't do both togeter.

Amazing, utterly amazing that the Republican politicians running for political office put on the cloak of religion and immediately discard it after being elected or defeated. Who do they think they are fooling?? Just look at the Bush/Cheney mis-administration record and the manipulation of some religious people just for their vote. Please Google "the 14 points of Fascism". or "right wing control of religion".

Some of the criticism of Huckabee is valid (the pardons) and some isn't (the taxes). Equally disgraceful is Romney's politicized policy of pardoning nobody at all -- even a guy who shot somebody with a bb gun as a minor without breaking the skin (without a pardon, he couldn't attend the police academy). I don't like Huckabee one bit, but nobody should be happy that Romney, a billionaire, can completely control the discussion with paid media that Huckabee is unable to answer. If both men had an equal voice, Iowa Republicans could make a more informed choice, but Huckabee isn't being drowned out by the truth (even when the charges are right) so much as by money. That's frightening.

Of course Romney could not pardon that person; it was categorized as a weapons violation and is a sacred liberal tenet never to be violated. Romney is a Liberal, but changed to sell himself as a conservative since the Democrats would never adopt him. Ronald Reagan proved his true conversion to being a conservative by years of promoting the conservative agenda; something Romney has never done and avoided doing by not helping other conservative candidates in raising money and getting out votes. The only person he has worked to help over the past few years was himself. Yes, Romney is a complete PHONY and we insult all American Patriots by even considering him to be a presidential candidate.

  • Posted By: blurmon @ 01/01/2008 12:31:01 PM

Romney needs to be held accountable for his record of extreme liberalism while governor in Mass. Why does Romney get to run from his liberal track record just because he had a new revelation to shed his formal official track record as a liberal? Would anyone accept this tactic from Hillary or Al Gore? How about McCain or Huckabee? Just because the rich man now says he is now a conservative doesn't fly. Just tell this to all of those unborned babies killed because Romney was championing abortion rights. They know Romney is a PHONY! Why don???t his supporters know Romney is a PHONY? The Presidency is just too important to entrust it to a man of questionable character and a proven flip-flopper. Ronald Reagan proved that his conversion to being a conservative over years of supporting other conservative candidates. He would have disavowed any connection to Romney as Romney has never campaigned or raised money for other conservative candidates. Instead, Romney just sat back and planned his false conversion to conservatism. Romney is NOT to be trusted to tell the truth! Support anyone but Romney, based on his official track record and proven record of flip-flops and lies. Beside, does anyone ignores that the Democrats are drooling and ready to jump on Romney???s pattern of Kerry-ish record of flip-flops?

We are not electing a pope. I think it's clear that one who speaks to Jesus doesn't belong inThe White House. Get back to preaching in a church Mr. Huckabee - that's where you belong.
He will lose his edge when he enters the actual country and not just the religious nuts in the middle of the country. Huckabee for POPE!!!

Every person has a mentor(s), most mentors have a mentor, and so on, all the way back to.........the beginning. We all look for the truth........truth is clarity, pristine if you will, innocent, undebateable.
We all seek the ONE with clarity and when we find that ONE with clarity, we dwell there. We bath in that clarity, and when we come out of the water and feel the warmth of the light now on us, there is a security there that we never travel far from again. GOD is awesome.

I think whoever attempts to run for President gets put through the wringer by the very people they would work for before they even get to the White House. Humans will always disagree with each other on faith issues. They always have. It is very difficult to be a Christian. When trying to keep the faith, one does need to be narrow-minded. One needs to focus on what would Jesus want them to do from day to day? The harder a Christian tries to keep to their faith, the more Satan tries to stop them. One day we will all find out what and how God intended for us to believe. But until then, a little more respect, a little less assumption on all sides, and be kind to your neighbor please.

GOOD STUFF Heidi..........GOD is awesome. For the rest of you, stretch a little..........it'll make room for new ideas.........and maybe GOD.

I am shocked at the low way Huckabee is campaining against Romney. If I were voting in Iowa I would vote for Romney. I could never vote for a man like Huckabee who is more like Pilate who does the dirty deed but wants to look like his is washing his hands.

I agree with you to some degree. We need to elect the person who is most qualified to be the President, but if that person who wants to be President is a minister as well, does that mean he or she cannot be a great leader?

  • Posted By: Road Agent @ 01/01/2008 11:00:34 AM

I just need the man who is most qualified to be a President who can lead the nation and stand firm in the face of an enemy. There is a minister on every corner. We need to elect the man who is most qualiified to be the President, not a minister.

Absolutely amazing that Huckabee is accusing others of being dishonest.

I am truley sorry for everyone in this country as no leader is emerging from any party, You cant say Obama is any beter than the REv. Al Sharpten nor are Huckabee and Romney any better than Dr. Ron Paul and as for Clinton she has no platform except to say she has plans for one? If we are free to choose a leader then you must report oa all twenty seven presidential canditates not some multi millionare who went inside a church for he certenly did not pray for us. As a thealogian holding a Doctorate in Theology myself I can assure you it does not in any way make you a leader nor does it confer any more trust or faith than any one else who is running as for the evangelicals and other religious zelots in Iowa grow up and read about the rest of the runners. And I beseech you to reconsider the truth about Obama and clinton prior to your vote.

If this is all the better it gets we are truley in deep kimchee, as I can see no leader emerging from any party except for the faint glimmer of the none reported Dr. Ron Paul Who at least makes some sense and is steadfast in his record and beliefe in Constitutional Government.

The term "religious extremists" can refer equally to Christians and Moslems. I am sick of people of all faiths evoking God to support their narrow minded views.

  • Posted By: ikie12pts @ 12/31/2007 6:32:35 PM

Huckabee Schmuckabee....he needs to go on back to his double-wide in Arkansas. It's frightening to think that he is running for the most powerful position in the world!!! Jeeeeez!!!! Lord help us all.

    • Posted By: texny45 @ 01/01/2008 8:08:07 AM

Why is it frightening? Look at the fool we elected last time around. We may survive him.

  • Posted By: texny45 @ 01/01/2008 8:02:43 AM

Sometimes, when the infrastructure has been ignored to the point of failure, taxes must be raised to do the repairs that were needed years ago. Allowing schools, hospitals, roads, services to decline so a tax cut may be enacted is not intelligent design. I am not a Huckabee fan, but that is a really stupid point. How do you think we and our kids are going to clean up the Iraq debacle? Taxes, boy, taxes.

  • Posted By: MyViews1 @ 01/01/2008 7:06:27 AM

When the conservative Christian base that supports Huckabee realizes that he would have no chance of winning the General Election it (their support) will crumble. Romney is the only GOP candidate who can take on the Dems.
