Obama should appeal to everyone who remembers the dishonesty of the Clinton era!!! Hillary puts on a good show when needed ( a small tear in NH) to get votes. She is transparent and vindictive. Why hasn't Edwards given his votes to either candidate? Does he want to cover his butt when Congress returns next year? A true politician! B;ack, white, yellow or whatever color or gender should have no bearing on getting elected. Neither should your religion. Electing the Clintons would just give the country more of the same as we have had the last 16 years. What a disappointment GW has been to the grand ole party.

Why is Obama saying he's African-American when he's really bi-racial ? Doesn't he want to be white or does he think it will get him more votes if he's black?

I've noticed that ever since one bad thing about Obama came out, everyone is on the Obama camp is shaking in their knees. Listen, if it's true then the entire voting public, not just Chicagoans need to know before they vote. This is why WE MUST VOTE FOR SOMEONE ON THE ISSUES that's all. And, for those trying to skew information about Hillary by blaming her for her husband ill judgment, I think that is slimey. Same thing with Obama, saying anything about him being Muslim or Christain radical is unfounded. Let's stick to facts and be civil please. The guy obviously lied, and I will tell you for one, I know there is more on him. But, why, oh, why would I want to give Republicans the fuel they need to run an aggressive campaign against any of our candidates? People stop posting slime links, educational information like congressional voting record, actual change delivered and what kind...cool. No politician is squeaky clean, so let's focus on what IS IMPORTANT the issues they stand for. But, I'm glad to see that the media is beginning to keep each other in check. That's how it should be, we don't want to be mislead.

I forgot to mention though, that on the consumer end, if only children are insured, then adults who already can't afford insurance will be stuck with much higher premiums and a slightly higher wage and much higher taxes and employers with much lower insurance coverage costs to pay for every childs insurance. So, conversely, full universal coverage for both adults and children could actually be better for the consumer. I think the last post seems to help the insurance companies and small business owners more. Well, you guys decide.

  • Posted By: maris01 @ 01/11/2008 4:41:20 PM

There's really no difference - one says not choice everyone on the bandwagon and the other tells adults, not children, hey, you have a choice, which is likely to rub off better with insurance companies, which both Obama and Hillary are funded by very heavily.

  • Posted By: TruthWatch @ 01/03/2008 12:00:57 PM

Every American already has the "opportunity" of buying coverage... the real problem is AFFORDABLE coverage, something that Sen. Obama neglects to address. It is clear that Obama is a neophyte who isn't ready to assume the Presidency.

    • Posted By: Jmscho2888 @ 01/03/2008 4:00:53 PM

If Senator Obama could find it in his heart to require each american to have health insurance then I would have no problem voting for him as our next president, but given that his plan does nothing to calm the fears of the 47 Million Americans who have no health insurance I cannot vote for him. The time has come for the candidates of both parties to come up with solutions to this complex issue. Its time to take back our health care system from the corporate hmo's , drug companies, and greedy insurance companies and put the critical decisions of health care back in the hands of the doctors and patients. If Sen. Obama thinks that he can negotiate with these people, I would wish him good luck. I will support Sen Clinton or John Edwards if he is still around after tonights vote.

You want big government to force you to buy health insurance? They should pay for it, not force someone who can't afford it who needs to put food on the table 1st and a place to sleep.

So...a homeless person is going to get fined by Hillary and JohnEdwards if they don't have health insurance?

        Big brother gov't sounds like.

  • Posted By: ragtopdodge @ 01/10/2008 8:22:08 PM

Why do you want the Federal Government to forced you to have health insurance?

Suppose you're broke, homeless, or just laid off? The first thing you do is pay for food and shelter. Health insurance premiums are secondary or even tertiary. So what, is Hillary or Edwards going to fine you if you don't have health insurance?

Big government is what Edwards/Clinton is pushing and they're falsely claiming it would leave 15M uninsured w/Obama's plan.

That was from just ONE study w/plenty of flaws.

The government should be PAYING for your health insurance, not forcing you to buy it if you can't afford it!

THE CLINTONS CLAIMED THAT SENATOR BARACK OBAMA DOS'NT HAVE ENOUGH EXPERIENCE TO BE THE PRESIDENT OF THE UNITED STATES..............BUT SOMETIMES WE'RE BLINDED BY TOO MUCH EXPERIENCE. I CERTAINLY BELIEVE THAT SENATOR BARACK OBAMA COMPARED TO ALL OF HIS FELLOW RUNNING MATES, IS MOST QUALIFIED TO ADAPT HIMSELF TO ENVIRONMENTAL CHANGES, BOTH POLITICALLY AND NON - POLITICALLY, WITH RAPIDITY AND ACCURACY. THIS IS KIND OF PERSONALITY THE UNITED STATES NEEDS TO REVIVE THE COUNTRY AND ITS ECONOMY.

I see this site is filled with delusional Obamanuts.

They don't seem to notice that just about every right wing pundit is praising Obama. Do you think they are born again in the spirit of brotherhood? If you do I have stock in lunar gold mine you just got to have.

The Republicans know the electorate. It is not as liberal as OBamanuts or the media. Obama will be the McGovern of the 21st century. It is why the right wing pundits want him to win the nomination. Not only will the GOP win the presidency, they will likely take back control of Congress. Even George Will is praising Obama. That should be a big enough clue to even the clueless Obamanuts.

  • Posted By: Belker @ 01/08/2008 2:19:48 PM

Obama is selling snake oil and the Frankenmedia is drunk on it. The CW guy says Obama crushed Hillary in Iowa. He won one more delegate. And look at the "victory". 10% of Iowans showed. About 65% Democrats. Of that 65%, Obama got under 40% or over 60% said no to Obama. To look at the national media it one who think Obama already the nomination and presidency sewed up. NOT!

The country requires more of its president than feel good speeches and snake oil. And of course, Obama can take the high road without "kneecapping". Edwards is doing the "kneecapping" on Hillary for him. Maybe Edwards is prepping to be Obama's veep? Are they already a team?

You know what, I believe we are ready for whomever will turn this country around. Gender, or color should not be a factor. Everyone keep saying that the country isn't ready for a black or woman president, but think we are. Anytime anyone faces new unchartered waters we are AFRAID!!! What makes a person unqualified if all you can do is hang them for inexperience. We are all inexperienced in all areas in life until we spend in time in those areas learning and growing. None of our former Presidents from Washington to Bush were experienced. All we could hope for was that their decisions were all in the name of helping it's citizens. Right now we have a broken system that everyone knows isn't working, but no one wants to tackle. It just keeps getting passed on to the next generation. We have many politians who know this is wrong, but allow things to go on like business as usual. You have special intrest groups who hold more weight than deciding what is best for the country and people as a whole. You have people who claim to believe in GOD, but when the are elected their actions say otherwise. How can you say you care about your country as a political figure and not work diligently on changing the growing numbers of the working poor. I feel if a person spends the time doing the right things to achieve, although they may not be rich they should not be the working poor. We are the richest country, the land of opportunity, but yet have living conditions not far from third world countries. If this country is to stand tall like once before we need to get past race and gender and political party division and vote on the person best for the job for all people, not just for the rich. Most people are not out to seek riches, but they want to be able to live a good life by being able to provide for their families. Right now our government can not make decisions that are pertinent to this country because of selfishness. This is not the way mature adults should act. We know that there are disagreements, but being adults and not children there should be a compromise, therefore allowing there to be a solution. I know I am long-winded, but the solution to the problems in this country are simple and basic. Most people think eveything is complicated. What makes things so difficult is the unwillingness to listen, compromise and work together.

Although BARACK OBAMA may have won the Iowa Caucus with the help of many Republican and Independent voters, I would never cast a vote for him and I have always voted for a democrat for the Presidential Election. I think he has gotten a free ride completely. The media allows him to not respond to any question asked of him or to respond to any information that may be controversal against him. He just speaks hot air and make commitments that no single politian can achieve on his own. Not even "King Obama" is able to bring people together if the issues are not discussed. Moral values cannot be compromised in order to make changes even if they are conceived as positive. Hope is just a stupid and empty word and I am a bi-racial american just as Barack Obama who pretends to be colorless. He is a disgrace to both his Caucasian and African fore-fathers. If he does receive the nomination I will switch my party and become a Republican although I don't agree with many of their platforms. At least the Republicans have strong convictions whether right or wrong and cannot be hood winked by a smooth talking noncommittal jerk like Obama. I am convinced now that Democrats may deserve to loose this election after all. They are so weak and desperate that they would fall for this jerk.. If Obama is the only choice left I will vote for Romney.

What the heck? You are so wrong about him. Have you read his books? Listened to him talk? Seen him in person? If not, then I would respectfully call you uninformed and not part of the solution.

Every racist, starts out with "I am not a racist".

By the tone used in this last commentary and mispelled words, it seems that some of us are not ready for a woman or a black president. I live in Massachusetts and just like Obama, Deval Patrick (our black governor) came under the same scrutiny. It is 2008; black, white, a woman, atheist, gay; if you can make a real difference and if you are a true leader for people and not for the bias of people, you will be elected.

I am not by any means a racist, but isn't the Democratic party forgetting one MAJOR setbacki with Obama? The average white voter in this country is not ready for a bloacvk president any more than it is ready for a woman president. They are handing the election over to the Republicans on a silver platter. All they have to do is sit back on election day and wait for thye votes to come in. It's a damn shame too because this country IS ready to toss the republicans out on their ears what with the lousy ahpe the economy is in and the tax breaks for the rich...runaway spending on the war etc......It's a damn shame we have such morons running our party that's all. To think that at a time when the Democratic Party should waltz into office....our hopes lie on two major candidaqtes that would have to break an unbreaskable precedent to win. The cvountry is just not ready for either......it's a shame that's all......a damn shame.......shame on you Dermocratic Party........who put these morons in charge anyway????? Hopefully we can wrest the office from the rich loving republican party in four years after they have come back to their senses.......Edward Kendzierski.

Comment: NO ONE LIKES BEING CAUGHT WITH THEIR PANTS DOWN. EXPERIENCE.AND JUDGEMENT. WHAT CAN HILLARY DO THAT OBAMA CANNOT. THIS IS THE QUESTION I HAVE BEEN ASKING MYSELF. I THINK THE WORLD WILL WELCOME OBAMA AND AT LEAST GAVE HIM A FAIR CHANCE. REPUBLICANS WILL SWALLOW THEIR PRIDE AND WORK WITH OBAMA. THEY WILL NEVER DO THAT WITH HILLARY. HILLARY AND EDWARDS ARE GOOD PEOPLE, HOWEVER THEIR VOTING RECORD AND THEIR LACK OF COURAGE HAS LEAD ME TO QUESTION WHETHER THEY HAVE THE RIGHT INSTINCTS AND JUDGEMENT TO BE IN OFFICE. I REALLY THINK THEY WOULD BE MORE EFFECTIVE UNDER AN OBAMA PRESIDENCY. OBAMA WILL NOT TRY AND CONTROL EVERYTHING.
sANDY, EDWARDS IS DESpERATE. thIS MAN FOLLOWED JOHN KERRY. HE WILL DO AND SAY ANYTHING. EVEN IF HE MEANS IT NOW IT IS TOO LATE. OBAMA AND CLINTON ARE TOO SMART, THEY KNOW THAT WHAT YOU SAY TODAY COULD FINISH YOU TOMORROW. ONLY A CANDIDATE WITH NOTHING TO LOSE WILL SAY WHAT EDWARDS IS SAYING. WHAT HAS HE DONE. BE HONEST. HILLARY IS pROUD THAT SHE WENT AGIANST HER pRINCIpLES TO GIVE BUSH A BLANK CHECK. WHY. IT WAS GOOD FOR WESTERN NEW YORK. HILLARY IS NOT STUpID IF THE WAR HAD NEGATIVE ECONOMIC CONSEQUENCES IN BUFFALO, SHE WOULD HAVE VOTED AGAINST IT. TRANSpARENCY IS SOMETHING NIETHER pARTY WANTS. NO ONE LIKE GETTING CAUGHT WITH THEIR pANTS DOWN AND THEN LECTURED ABOUT JUDGEMENT CALL..
DO YOU THINK BILL WILL VOTE FOR OBAMA OR HUCKABEE IN THE NEXT ELECTION

This is the comment I posted a couple of day agos. I am an American and I know my people. ALL My analysis were correct and backed by facts. I proved to be the most accurate going back months. Hopefully, people will learn that if you research and back your arguments with facts you will find the truth. I like Hillary and Edwards but they need to understand that they cannot overcome their records, they sold out to the same forces that have been "Punishing us for the last decade . Edwards cannot implement what he says and Hillary is haunted by the bill thing that is why she has to be careful not to go to negative. I will offer my advise on what the losers should do tomorrow. NO ONE LIKEs BEING CAUGHT WITH THEIR PANTS DOWN. OBAMA FOR PRESIDENT. DcooPer and deeP thinker you should study THE LIKEABILITy FACTOR and understand that I know more than all these Political Pundits and . Phd's. Did you see kieth OBEIRMAN and all those funny PeoPle on MSNBC. THey are dumb. They really looke devastated. Everything they believed in and all their Pundits were wrong. They were so one sided, Hillary. THe media has to recognize that more and more PeoPle do not believe them. They rePresent corPorations who have been indoctrinating us to sPene like wild animals and go into debt. DEbt financing. YOu know with CHINA. Everyone should read my comments and decide for temselves. Mitt Romney is a true clown just like Guilliani. His lies make me weeP like I said all along. His solution to health care is too offer Packagaes which PeoPle cannot afford. This man has just fliP floP too much and has followed the BUSH DOCTRINE. THAT EX Pired two years ago. I look forward to seeing his comPlete defeat in a couPle of weeks. Romney does not rePresent change HENRY TAFT BENSON. MY PEOPLE HAVE SEEN THROUGH THE MIRAGE. OBAMAMcCain for President. I backed every Post with facts. I am a Proud graduate of UMD in Maryland. I graduated four years ago and I am Part of a movement behind OBAMA that wants the best for ALL AMERICANS, EVEN GINGRICH and some of my friends who ridiculed my Posts. I have also had a loyal following of comment makers including suPPorters of all Parties. GOd Bless America.they have awaken a sleePing GIANT.

Comment: Deep Thinker, Obama has been a success his whole life, He is far beyond his years and has always excelled above his peers. You need to research his eight years as an Illinois state senator. Obama is very intelligent and has proven it time and time again. He never got a free handout. He worked hard and accomplished more than anyone else his age in his field. That is a fact. What has Obama done that makes you think that he is not ready to be president, deep thinker. NO ONE LIKES BEING CAUGHT WITH THEIR PANTS DOWN. OBAMA/McCain ticket for President. We can move forward or we can go backwards. It is your choice.
