Analysis on the politicians budges, marketing campaigns and strategies for winning the election, rather than what they actually stand for, what they propose to do, what their credentials and past successes are and analysing those. When someone applies for a job they usually check them more thoroughly. Not sensationalist evening news topics like where they drank and had sex when during their university years, but serious politics. How will people make informed decisions if the media doesn't do it's job? I have to get information from other sources, like non-profit volunteer organisations. In the last Swedish election I was able to do tests on the national newspapers websites to find out which party was mostly aiming to do what I believed in. It was one way for me to orient myself. Comment: Edwards just takes too many votes away from Hillary. Obama won by one per cent in Iowa among democrats. This is a very significant statistic because OBAMA has a new base which Hillary and Edwards are strangers too. Their experience actually works against them, especially their voting record. New Hampshire is the land of independents and will go OBAMA's way. Hillary needs to start preparing for New York and California. If she loses either one she has no chance. Even the stars of today are with the OBAMA movement. She has lost the women vote, so she needs to focus on the minority vote ie. immigration and a plan for the poor. Everyone knows she is strong on Health Care, so she should emphasize other NEW ISSUES. AN issue that would inspire the middle class.. A middle class iplan that spromises a bright future. No one wants to here what she has done they want to hear what she is going to do. Going negative has distracted her from her.. The war on Iraq really hurts Hillary. She needs to be specific on that issue. What will she do and why can she do it faster than any other candidate.These are the types of things OBAma has already been talking about but it is a broad range of topics. Hillary needs to look presedential. She needs to hold fewer events with larger crowds. Waves. A small wave can turn into a big wave in a hurry.
Comment: I asked last night if conservatives were allowed to participate at this site. I didn't see an answer, so I guess it's okay. If all the talking heads are right, then I should be supporting either a Republican, or Hillary Clinton. I'm not so sure the Republicans are out. President Bush will be finished about this time next year, and whoever is elected President will have to put his/her own stamp on the administration. Punishing Republicans for the sins of the current president would be dangerous, especially if it meant putting into office the wrong Democrat. He stands for Universal Health care, withdrawing from Iraq, protecting Americans from terrorism, and to stop giving tax credits to companies that move jobs overseas. I think that he is very clear on how he stand on the issues. A responsible citizen must do homework on all of the candidates so that he/she can vote responsibly.

Apparently, Obama, Edwards, and Hillarys all have similar health care plans. However, most people do not realize that the plans are not really the socialist type of Universal Health Care most people think. It seems that the objective is to provide affordable health care to everyone, rather than free health care to everyone.
In large part, the premise is that the health care industry has inflated prices by influencing government and using price fixing tactics (i.e., mergers, patents, license, etc.). The health plans all rely on some sort of governmental market intervention to fix market inefficiencies, and increase competition, to reduce insurance prices.

Its like the Union issue, so many office workers and business professionals put the unions down as corrupt and bad for business but they would never have gained the power that they did if the busness mgmt was fair. Comment: Of course, I agree that the big companies cannot be ignored. It is no secret that companies are hiring lobbyist and throwing money at Washington insiders (staff and elected officials) to skew things in the shareholders favor to the detriment of consumers, workers, etc.
One common problem is the revolving door issue. That is, government bureaucrats looking forward to nice paying private sector jobs later based on favoritism it extended to certain corporation or industries while still working for the goverment..
For example, Bill Clinton speaking engagements start at $100,000. Sure he is a great speaker, but is that the fair market value of his public speaking skills? No way! People pay Clinton for the influence he has in Washington. More cynical (and rational) people may say that it is payback for the favors he extended while in office.
That is why it would be hard for Hillary Clinton to change the system. She is part of the system! Furthermore, the system has been good to the Clintons. It is nearly impossible for her to attack the system she has benefited so much from.
For good or bad, lobbyist and money in politics is just a fact of life. However, the companies did not make the rules. Companies are just playing the game. Therefore, although the companies are part of the system, you cannot give them credit for the entire system.

Comment: On of Edwards problem is that most people sense that his focused attack on big greedy corporations is unsound. In comparison, Obama is ingenious to focuses the culprit of our problems not on big greedy corporations, but on the broken economic and political system.
When Edwards attacks big companies as the culprit of people losing jobs, he is taking his eye off of the ball! The fact is, the fundamental reason people are losing jobs is due to domestic and international competition. Ironically, to protect jobs, Edwards will have to protect the big greedy corporation from outside competition. Nothing will please a big company more than Edwards protecting it from competition.
Most Americans can swallow the idea of losing a job due to fair competition. However, its losing jobs due to unfair competition that gets people mad. Obama cannot go wrong by attacking the system as whole rather than attacking specific players within the system.
Thus, Obama trumps Edwards by focusing on fixing the system we live in rather than focusing on attacking big greedy corporations. Obamas position allows him to argue to help create a society where everyone has a fair chance. Edwards position leads him to fight to protect some people from losing their jobs, which in itself is unfair to unprotected people.
What sets Obama apart from the other candidates is that his arguments (issue by issue) are logically flawless. Thus, its very difficult to intelectually attack his arguments. Both Hillary and Edwards have not been as careful in crafting their arguments.

The way you put Muslim in capitals implies you have some inherent fear about all Muslims. Extremism against any people has no place in a free and civilised world, indeed that includes extreme Islam but that also includes extreme prejudice - so what if his parents divorced, so what if his mother was an aetheist. There is no proof that he is an extremist, your are merely speculating.
What makes your country great is it claims to offer a chance to everyone, and has since its foundations been a land of opprtunity. People have benefitted from being American, and America itself has benefitted.

While most people concern themselves with the media sensationlizing the threat of terrorism against us, we turn a blind-eye towards those who do far more harm to us by advocating division via bigotry, institutional racism, and class. EDUCATION - ALL kids need better equipped schools, facilities, teachers who care, and better support and learning programs that challenge them to be better.
HEALTHCARE - ALL need it, but some make too little money to actually afford it, therefore, solutions are needed so that ALL americans can get the proper medical attention and treatments that can help better their lives.
EMPLOYMENT - There can NEVER be more than enough jobs, training programs, and services to put people to work, this along with getting rid of the government's WELFARE system are issues that need to be addressed.
CRIME - While some cities (e.g. Chicago, New York) have experienced a decrease in overall crime, the crime rates elsewhere are increasing. A new approach to how we address crime is needed so that ALL americans can feel safer, be better protected, and are less fearful.
IMMIGRATION laws - Sorry, but MINUTEMEN guarding the borders is not the solution.
GUN laws, tax system, environmental issues, and the list goes on.
The issues stated above are what should matter to ALL as they are about equality, opportunity, a better people, and a better country.
That can only be achieved by...CHANGE.
