    Ron Paul...our only hope.

Since we are obviously voicing our "honest" opinions, let me ask our earlier commenters something? To jerk #1, "How do you know what the intentions of the forefathers of America had in mind?" If a Black person OR a woman had been in charge, maybe this country wouldn't be in the state that it's in today. Maybe we wouldn't be on the verge of a recession, maybe our men and women wouldn't be fighting a war that we can't win, maybe our fathers, mothers, sisters, and brothers wouldn't be losing their lives daily. And just maybe if the forefathers of this country were not so busy raping Black women and taking any and everything that DID NOT belong to them, they just might not have been the forefathers of this country after all. But enough about that, to you, Jerk #2, I think you may be in agreeance with some of the things that the other idiot had to say. To call "Barack " Hussein, is a serious insult. If you want to talk about his inexperience, then do that. Throwing racist insults only negates your view even further. I am in support of Barack Obama 100%. Have you met a world leader? You probably wouldn't know how to deal with one if they came up and slapped you in the face. I hope you are not insinuating that just because the man is Black, that he has no tact, dignity, or intelligence. Give Obama a fair chance, you may be surprised!

Tahannir, since we are voicing our honest opinions, let voice so more of mine. Why don't you stop playing the race card, do you think Afro-Americans have a monopoly on persecution. When Italians came to this country they were persecuted, called "WOPs" and left to work menial jobs. When the Irish came to this country, they were persecuted, called "drunken Irish Micks" and relegated to work menial jobs. And what of our Asian brothers and sisters who were persecuted and put in interment camps during WW2, and to this day are referred to by some people as "Gooks". So you see you really don't a monopoly on persecution, do you. I am so tired of people playing the race card and using it as an excuse for there problems and those of the world. Maybe you should get your head out of your butt, and smell the roses. Follow the example of Senator Obama and see what intelligence and hard work can really do. Also Hussein is the Senator's middle name is it not? I was just expressing my opinion on what the Repulican attack machine is capable of. To call me a racist, is just showing your ignorance. And insulting me about not meeting a world leader is truly laughable. I am not running for the Presidency of the United States. I have no need to meet world leaders as my job does not require it, as I am just a hard- working person like most Americans, giving an honest day's work for an honest day's pay. So before you insult people and call them jerks, I suggest you take a good look in the mirror, you might be surpised at what you see!!!!!!!!!!!

Wow, there are still people in this country who think Obama is, or ever was, a muslim? Try reading the newspaper instead of blogs or emails from your right-wing friends. Obama is a devout Christian.

My wife and I traveled six hours to volunteer for Obama, and we were so impressed by all of the hard-working people who have been here for months working for change. I hope we keep it going all the way to the White House! GO OBAMA!!!

The American voting process asks of just one thing. View the issues at hand and make intelligent voting decisions based on an analysis of those issues. To vote or not to vote merely on a name is unintelligent. I wonder what the outcome would be if we had a bad candidate whose name just happened to be JFK?

    FELLOW AMERICANS:

PLEASE stop hating on Obama the REA:L THREAT is

MITT "the child raper" ROMNEY. HE IS A MORMON. A proven GOD HATER.

We need to stop him and send a loud message to ALL MORMONS THAT THEY WON'T be tolerated. They can't marry anymore 13 year old girls. POLYGAMY is wrong and sinful!

STOP HIS ANTI-GOD race to the whitehouse!

Typical christian drivel. Let me clue you in: it is people like YOU who keep this country down by measuring other people with your self-righteous religious fanaticism. Kill any fags lately?

By the way, God hates you. This message has been brought to you by an atheist.

Like this story implies, Obama will bring the worst out of the rednecks of this country who seem to be just waiting for him to misstep...I say, no more to the status quo and experience, after all experience is just why this country is in the shape it's currently in!

OH my god! I was so excited with the results!! Mr. Obama, I sat infront of the televison from 9:00pm awaiting the results! I reside in the Virgin Islands!! You are a man of courage...and goodwill! and because of that I know you will bring change! and one thing i learnt is that " A GOOD MAN CAN NEVER BE KEPT DOWN!! BLESSINGS FROM ST.THOMAS U.S. VIRGIN ISALNDS.....

Less than 200,000 people made that decision in Iowa and you are saying it is representative of the entire nation? Said Democratic process if this is true? I believe otherwise! I never follow the media, but common sense. That tells me that there is much to come in the next few weeks and your storyline will definetly change.

    • Posted By: j1ggy @ 01/04/2008 10:39:36 AM

300,000 people voiced their opinion in Iowa. These people have the same common US experience of government, economics, education and religion. The voice of change is clear. Watch how the status quo candidates move their campaigns to embrace change going into the N.H. caucus.

  • Posted By: Andy55 @ 01/04/2008 9:22:35 AM

The world is watching. Unbeknown to most of the citizens of the USA under George Bush the USA had changed from the trusted Leader of the Free Wolrd to the feared violent Bully. The Vote for Obama of a few thousand Iowans is the shot heard around the world and the first sign for billons around the globe that the American people are waking up from seven years of what appeared to be national ignorance and intimidation. If the politics of destrucion will not stop Obama, we are on our way to gain respect again and our children might be able to travel the globe and not be jeered but cheered.

Who cares what the world thinks. Do you really think THEY care what we think of them?

  • Posted By: multinational @ 01/04/2008 7:48:58 AM

As much as I like Hillary, Barack really seems to bring a new spirit to this country. So we could even say that the total mess-up of the Bush administration is hurting Hillary, because it is that mess-up that energizes voters from all camps to vote for change. And Obama stands for change, more than Hillary.
The other conclusion one comes to after this first "strike" is that the republican candidates are out of touch with their voters. Even a big part of republican or republican-oriented voters want change, and no one of the republican candidates really stands for change. Huckabee's victory is based on ideologically structured evangelicals, not asking many critical questions. We can expect that countrywide many of those will not vote, because before voting for a democrat, they probably prefer staying home.
In other words, big voter turnout is going to be the democrat's guarantee to retake the white house.

Since only four Iowa winners ever got their parties nomination and none won, don't see why everyone is so focused on Iowa. Results are significant but not an indicator of future results.

  • Posted By: dinger69 @ 01/04/2008 9:13:08 AM

Yeah dewcooper, give me 2 minutes so I can find something dirty about ANY candidate for ANY political race. Moron. Deal with the REAL issues and stop looking for dirt.

    • Posted By: dewcooper @ 01/04/2008 10:37:24 AM

Real issue - the man who wants to be commander in chief openly shows disrespect to America during the pledge by not placing his hand over his heart, yet states that his actions will show his patriatixm. Also, by stating that he is African American, he is placing his race ahead of his country.

This is very scary to think of what lies ahead of us
here in our own United States...better heed this and pray about it and
    Share it.
We checked this out on 'snopes.com'. It is factual. Check for yourself.
    >Who is Barack Obama?
    >Probable U. S. presidential candidate, Barack Hussein Obama was born
    >in Honolulu, Hawaii, to Barack Hussein Obama, Sr., a black MUSLIM
    >from Nyangoma-Kogel, Kenya and Ann Dunham, a white ATHIEST from
    >Wichita, Kansas.
    >Obama's parents met at the University of Hawaii. When Obama was two
    >years old, his parents divorced. His father returned to Kenya. His
    >mother then married Lolo Soetoro, a RADICAL Muslim from Indonesia.?
    >When Obama was 6 years old, the family relocate to Indonesia. Obama
    >att ended a MUSLIM school in Jakarta. He also spent two years in a
    >Catholic school.
    >Obama takes great care to conceal the fact that he is a Muslim. He is
    >quick to point out that, 'He was once a Muslim, but that he also
    >attended Catholic school.'
    >Obama's political handlers are attempting to make it appear that
    >that he is not a radical.
    >Obama's introduction to Islam came via his father, and that this
    >influence was temporary at best. In reality, the senior Obama returned
    >to Kenya soon after the divorce, and never again had any direct
    >influence over his son's education.
    >Lolo Soetoro, the second husband of Obama's mother, Ann Dunham,
    >introduced his stepson to Islam. Obama was enrolled in a Wahabi school
    >in Jakarta.
    >Wahabism is the RADICAL teaching that is followed by the Muslim
    >terrorists who are now waging Jihad against the western world. Since
    >it is politically expedient to be a CHRISTIAN when seeking major
    >public office in the United States, Barack Hussein Obama has joined
    >the United Church of Christ in an attempt to downplay his Muslim
    >background. ALSO, keep in mind that when he was sworn into office he
    >DID NOT use the Holy Bible, but instead the Koran.
    >Barack Hussein Obama will NOT recite the Pledge of Allegiance nor
    >will he show any reverence for our flag. While others place their hands
    >over their hearts, Obama turns his back to the flag and slouches.
    >Let us all remain alert concerning Obama's expected presidential
    >candidacy.
    >The Muslims have said they plan on destroying the US from the inside
    >out, what better way to start than at the highest level - through the
    >President of the United States, one of their own!!!!
    >Please forward to everyone you know. Would you want this man leading
    >our country?...... NOT ME!!!

Snopes.com debunked this, so you should go check it out. However, Snopes.com does point out in another listing that Obama's church pushes a 'Black Value System', a 'Black Community', a 'Black Family' and a 'Black Work Ethic' and references its congragation as an 'African People'. How is that not racists? And, how can an individual SO focused on being 'Black', segragating value and ethics into a 'Black' system and 'Other' system going to serve ALL of America? Obama may be for change, but is it just a change to the other side of the racist coin?

      • Posted By: msteacher7500 @ 01/04/2008 10:36:41 AM

Why is it that when black people want to establish their own "value system" they are considered racist? Being proud of your culture and emphasizing value and ethics that are key to your community does not make you a racist. Isn't it time for racism to end? Barack has made it abundantly clear that he wants to serve all of America. By the way, Barack as a Black male can "serve all of America" the same way that all of the White presidents in the past have served America. Let's hope that he does a better job than his predecessors. Please take the time to really think about what your going to say before you write it. It really wastes my time when I have to correct idiotic comments like yours.

The Democratic process is in a sad state if what you are saying is true? Less than 200,000 does not represent the nation and Iowa is only something to keep the media interested? I prefer to have faith in this nation as someone who previously worked for Bobby Kennedy and know that common sense will dictate. That sense tells me there is much to do about nothing regarding Iowa. The media serves no purpose but to sway people to their own opinion. Idealism is wonderful and we all need it. However, the reality of how it gets done is very different. Every smart person understands that and keeps it in perspective.

Finally a man with a purpose for the good of this country, a man who love the United States of America and his people, a man of dignity, intelligent and with a vision. Let him reach his destiny because it is his destiny to be the president of the United States before everything collapse.

    • Posted By: dewcooper @ 01/04/2008 10:31:29 AM

Shouldn't ALL the people of America be his people, and not just those who share his skin pigment?

  • Posted By: Tomboney @ 01/04/2008 10:11:05 AM

First off Barack Obama is NOT black. He is a wihadi muslim from hawaii whose american mother married into muslim belief. TWICE!! His middle name is hussein, and he was sworn in to senate on the koran, not the bible. How can any american vote for a man who openly defys our beliefs and dishonors the flag by turning away and lowering his head? I am an american, army bred, who finds this as the ultimate dishonor to America. Why would we vote in a muslim whose country's beliefs he openly follows wants nothing more than to destroy our great nation? That is just what WE need. A muslim in the white house. Destroy from the top down. I am not a racist, but i have seen what real muslims are and how much they believe and anyone who is remotely close to that could easily turn America into the next MIddle East. I encourage voting but do not vote because they sound cool, or you want a woman in office. Take time to know the candidates then vote!!! We run the country, Not them!!!! They do what we let them, Believe in Democracy and use it to make America the land of the free and the home of the brave!!!!!

Tomboney. You did not do your research when you received that oh-so-urgent message in your inbox about the evil ways of Barack Obama. I suggest you check out politifacts.com and anywhere else you like. Not only did Barack Obama swear in on the Bible, he did so on his own personal Bible. Just because a person you know forwards you an email, doesn't make it the truth.

      • Posted By: donlisbuild @ 01/04/2008 10:31:00 AM

Any man who thinks he is above saluting our flag doesn't belong in govt. let alone the White House. He is fooling the Iowans.....can't be too tough....but he won't fool the people who really count.
