This is addressed to "ProudtobeanAmerican." What you are saying is probably representative of the views of many Americans. I hope that you and others reconsider. The fact that someone whose surname is Obama could be a viable candidate for President is why you should be "proud to be an American."

At least have a good set of candidates on the democratic side of things this time around and the sooner the party can decide on who it's going to be and move forward the better. We need to get this country back on track on fighting tooth and nail to determine who the candidate will be until the last minute is not what we need.

The Dems need to unite behind a candidate and start this country down the right path again way before election day so whoever it is can hit the ground running.

Covert Republicans who register as Democrats turned out en masse to vote in the Iowa caucuses Thursday evening. Fearing that Hillary Clinton would take the election with sheer momentum, would-be-Republicans have agreed that it will be much easier to defeat Obama than Clinton. Accordingly, the uncounted numbers of the electorate who are Republicans at heart while officially members of the Democratic party are taking steps to insure that Mr. Obama wins the Democratic nomination.
The time might easily be right for the first female President of the United States to be elected. The first black President of this brave nation would not be such a shoo-in. Barak Obama walks a fine line as it is, trying to convince most of the Democratic voters that he is not exactly black while simultaneosly reassuring the black segment that he is exactly that.
On the other side, true Democrats who are registered Republicans tipped the scales in favor of the Republican candidate that they feel has virtually no chance of being elected if nominated, Mike Huckabee. They understand that, if the GOP actually fields a Bible-thumper, a large segment of the Republican voters will just stay home, thus throwing victory to the Democrats.
Not only that, but the Latter Day Saints contingent won???t even stay home. They will come out in disciplined ranks to vote for the Democratic candidate, thus punishing Bible-thumping Republicans for failing to nominate Mr Romney.
We often wonder who are these Democrats in Disguise? These Republicans Under Cover?

Since we are obviously voicing our "honest" opinions, let me ask our earlier commenters something? To jerk #1, "How do you know what the intentions of the forefathers of America had in mind?" If a Black person OR a woman had been in charge, maybe this country wouldn't be in the state that it's in today. Maybe we wouldn't be on the verge of a recession, maybe our men and women wouldn't be fighting a war that we can't win, maybe our fathers, mothers, sisters, and brothers wouldn't be losing their lives daily. And just maybe if the forefathers of this country were not so busy raping Black women and taking any and everything that DID NOT belong to them, they just might not have been the forefathers of this country after all. But enough about that, to you, Jerk #2, I think you may be in agreeance with some of the things that the other idiot had to say. To call "Barack ", Hussein, is a serious insult. If you want to talk about his inexperience, then do that. Throwing racist insults only negates your view even further. I am in support of Barack Obama 100%. Have you met a world leader? You probably wouldn't know how to deal with one if they came up and slapped you in the face. I hope you are not insinuating that just because the man is Black, that he has no tact, dignity, or intelligence. Give Obama a fair chance, you may be surprised!

If something like the Jena 6 or a riot would break out before the election, I guarantee you OBAMA would be out. Because the BLACK Americans would want him to show his color.

If you know that a name has nothing to do with his ability to run the country....... then that kinds of denotes the rest of your statement doesn't it?

You are not honest about your American pride. This is supposed to be a nation of many different people. AMERICAN BORN CITIZENS are just that~no matter what their surnames are. You are not honest about your middle east prejudices. So stop lying about your American pride. You are more proud of your biases and your unfounded fears.

His youth, lack of experience and unfortunately his color will stop him from winning the nomination. The Dem want to win and they know that they can't do it with this candidate.

If you look at the delegate count Obama only recieved one more then edwards and two more then Clinton. With Clinton likely getting more superdelegates then Obama and Edwards, she is still firmly in the lead. She is also heading into several states where she had very good polling at least before Iowa. For this to truely be a huge loss for Clinton she would have had to loose by like 10 delegates. She can loose every Iowa type state by this margin and still win the nomination.

I think most of the hype about a huge clinton loss is caused by the media wanting a story, and clinton haters loving to beat up on her. But i never have understood why those that hate her hate her so much.

We're long overdue for a female president. However a mother can never be excused, as a democrat, for sending our children to kill or be killed in any circumstance other than clear self defense. Clinton betrayed her party and her gender for what was, at the time, considered to be politically expedient. Time to be held responsible for lack of conscience. Hopefully, this won't be the last one to be held accountable!

You can label an idealogy or a person with conservative, liberal, Christian, Atheist...but those are just adjective describing ways to approach an issue, value, belief...what people in Iowa have said clearly whether a Democrat or Republican is the need for change in goverment leadership.

The Party Establishment (DEM and REP), along with most of the candidates, are so far out of touch with real Americans and the issues they face everyday as to be virtually useless.
When was the last time we had a President or a leading Presidential candidate that wasn't rich?

I don't really know where you are getting your information, but Barack Obama is not a muslim, nor was he sworn into office with his hand on the Qur'an, you may be thinking of Keith Ellison of Oregon, as he was the first American politician to be sworn into office on the Qur'an in 2006. Also, Obama's father, although brought up in a muslim environment, was an atheist. He was not raised by a stepfather, as when he was ten he went back to Hawaii to live with his grandparents. Further, his father did not die of a car accident until 1982, when Obama was 21. I doubt he was being raised by a stepfather when he was 21. So, concidering all your 'facts' are wrong... Unless you want to claim his mother's paretns were radical muslims, too, you don't really have a anything to stand on.

I know Obama is not Muslim, but would it matter if he were??? Would that make him a bad person??? I guess we have forgotten about freedom of religion is this republican contry. Reading these posts, I see a lot of hate, racisim and judgements. It's very sad. No wonder America has the problems we have today.
