To Autobox, if find comparing Obama's experience to that of Presidents Reagan, Clinton, and Bush, quite amusing. Firstly, Bill Clinton was a 4 term Governor of Arkansas, Presidents Reagan and Bush were Governors of states whose budgets were greater than those of an awful lot of countries on our planet. All these men had extensive executive experience. What is Obama's extensive executive experience, that of a State Senator, and 2 years as a U.S. Senator. When did he ever have to run a government of state or federal, and ensure that it is running well. I bet this guy can't even balance his own household budget, let alone that
of the greatest country on earth. There are serious issues out there who need serious people to deal with them. What we don't need is someone whose main skill is that of being an expert in the art of glib sound bites, rather than having serious solutions to our problems.

FELLOW DEMOCRAT AND REPUBLICANS NEED TO GET OBAMAS FULL NAME OUT THEIR AND THE FACT THAT HE WAS RAISED IN MUSLIM INDONESIA. HE SEEMS TO SYMPATHIZE WITH THE ISLAMIC MOVEMENT AND WANTS TO NEGOTIATE WITH THEM IS THIS WHO WE WANT IN CHARGE OF OUR COUNTRY? HIS RANTINGS SOUND A LOT LIKE HITLER. I DO THINK THIS COUNTRY NEEDS CHANGE BUT NOT THE CHANGE HE IS OFFERING

If a riot breaks out or something like the Jena 6 comes out nationally before the election; I guarantee you that OBAMA will be history !!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!

To crienour and those with the same racist mentality.
I have read all of the comments inspired by last nights decision in Iowa. Do you realize that it is your hateful, discriminating dispositions that have kept this country in turmoil for centuries?
As you so eloquently informed everyone of Obama's history, why haven't you dug as deep into your own.
How many caucasians have terrorized no whites, staring with the American Indians (uh- there was no
America) raping, killing, and stealing, in order to TAKE land, and gold, and anything else that you THOUGHT you wanted. You are so down on anyone unlike yourselves, which makes you even dumber than you sound. Afer all, it was you and yours that taught the rest of the world how to kill, steal, rape, and cheat.

I must say that after years and years of hearing this same old, dead, time to be buried rhetoric, it is a breath of fresh air to hear someone with common sense say that it is time to put away all of the stupids and their incessant stupidity, and move on to make America the nation that OUR forefathers intended it to be, instead of the nation that talked a good game but stood on lies and deceit.

While you are studying Snopes, you might learn something about your late knowledge of Black Americans.
Sweetheart, Obama would not be the 1st Black President. But, as always, I'm sure that you and your kind will only see what you want to see. I find that you and yours are more ignorant than any other non-white I've ever known. You see, you are evidently incapable of growing, and or learning, otherwise the venom that you spewed out would have disgusted even you.
Don't take this as a bash of White Americans, because it certainly is not. There are many, many wonderful, and enlightened White Americans that realize, that color of skin is not the issue. The issue is what is good for America as a whole. That means ALL of us.
I'm Black, and I may not vote for him either. I'm still looking for what's going to be good for America, and I don't care what color the skin is, or whether or not they are Democrat or Republican, just as long as they
have what it take to pull us out of the mess that we're in, at home and abroad.

So, I REALLY think it's time to put away your petty racism, and get on with the business of real life...
Hey, your mentality is out of style...

I am thrilled that we have three strong, viable, bright, articulate front-runners - and I must admit that I like all three frontrunners equally. Each has strong and weak points. However, from the perspective of fielding a winning ticket in November, I am not convinced that either Hillary or Obama can win on a national level. I am terrified that either candidate at the top of a ticket will result in a nasty, negative, divisive, hateful campaign. I hope I am wrong (my daughter's age group actually turned out in Iowa - see, I can be wrong) -
Cpnsqquently, I am secertly hoping that John Edwards will pull it out of the tank .

Does anybody besides me remember the characterization of Edwards from teh last campaign as a candidate that could work a room better than Bill Clinton? Senator Edwards, if you are reading this, I sure hope this is true and that you can get your ducks in a row. Senators Clinton and Obama - patience is a virture - hang on. In my humble opinion, our country is not quite there yet.

It's people like you who keep this country divided. TAKE YOUR HOOD OFF AND SHOW YOUR FACE KLANS MAN. Prison not at all more like at work at my desk.

Fellow democrats and Republicans need to get Obamas full name out their and also emphasize how he was raised in a muslim nation, and that he wants to negotiate with these terrorist nations. he seems to sympathize with radical Islam which i think directly relates to his family history.

  • Posted By: LWarth @ 01/04/2008 10:09:01 AM

I am in favor of Hillary and so is my entire family. One state, very conservative... does NOT represent the country's political feelings! Why is it the press is so adamant and ruthless about portraying Hillary as a loser? It is the press coverage that is tiring me of the race! I would appreciate a chance to make my own decisions and not have the reporters tell me what I'm thinking!

I also cannot condone voting for someone who is a Muslim for the USA. This country is being taken over by them and unfortunately, I believe if a half-black person becomes president, we will have more racism than ever before. God Bless and help all of us and the United States of America!

    • Posted By: Mrs. Jones @ 01/04/2008 8:43:44 AM

Your ignorance is indicative of the people who elected Bush twice. Use FACTS to promote your argument. Obama is NOT a Muslim, he's a Christian (belongs to Trinity UCC in Chicago)--his father was a Muslim by birth, not by practice and his step father practiced a form of Islam combined with traditional Indonesian beliefs. Neither of these men actually raised him. Muslims are NOT taking over this country. And what does the fact that his white mother was capable of loving a man who had a different skin color and nationality have to do with spreading racism? If anything, it shows the ability to embrace all kinds of people.

      • Posted By: 1redram @ 01/04/2008 10:08:20 AM

Enter Your Comment: What? His stepfather didn't have a hand in raising him? What was he doing? Scratching his ass in the backyard?! And ANYONE can say they are CHRISTIAN, we all should know by now that politicians lie to get ahead....good greif!

    • Posted By: Mrs. Jones @ 01/04/2008 8:14:23 AM

Your ignorance is truly unfortunate. Aside from the fact that Obama is NOT a Muslim (in fact, he wasn't really raised in a religious household) Muslims are NOT taking over the country. Provide statistics to back up your arguments--don't just spout nonsense. And what exactly does that fact that his white mother was capable of loving a man whose skin color and nationality were different have to do with spreading racism.

    • Posted By: Autoboxx @ 01/04/2008 8:07:21 AM

Well, I'm as conservative as anybody else, but you are not correct in labeling Obama a Muslim. He is a Christian.. If you want to disagree with him then do so on his politics. Dont make up stuff.

  • Posted By: Hilly30 @ 01/04/2008 10:07:21 AM

All I can say is, if you want to take this SERIOUSLY you better research the candidates YOURSELF and put that time and effort you SHOULD take to make sure we don't get stuck with 8 more years of another GW. Our nation is in a terrible path right now and if we lose our allies, we are in B-I-G trouble. If the world's other countries all turn on us, you better bet we WILL lose. I'm more worried about our worldly friends MORE than terrorists hurting us. Bad relationships with other countries will lead to bad things happening for us. So before you pull that lever to vote, you better be using your best judgement and not your pride, prejudice, or stupidity for that election. I'm also writing because I can see we have a lot of POLITICAL SPINNER wielding dangerous comments and STUPID comments regarding Obama's background etc. If you take politics seriously and you WANT an educated decision, turn off these negative people... and their really idiotic idealology and come up with your own. I don't listen to news channels, I don't listen to bloggers, I listen to MYSELF. Don't let people convince you have horrid lies and falsehoods. Research for YOU and don't let others convince you of backgrounds that never existed. That is all I can say about this. I just can't believe how many people have said some pretty prejudiced and down right disgusting falsehoods about Obama. You should be ashamed of yourself for lying. You should be ashamed of yourself for not knowing facts too. It doesn't take a genius to know when someone sounds like bigot.

BTW, I am FOR Obama and I am FOR a president of the USA that can sound like a literate, educated person that doesn't need a telepromter to know how to say a word or use complete sentences.

~sigh~ People, please. Always question what you find and hear on Fox News and the Drudge Report, will you? Obama did NOT attend a Muslim school. It was a public school and guess what? There were other Christian kids there as well. Before you continue spouting the lies of state-sponsored television and sludge from bottom feeders, research the facts. I suggest you start with snopes.com. Peace

For those of you who are unaware of who Barack Obama is, please visit his official website and go to your local library to get both of his books. Also, research the way he reshaped the city of Chicago and his track record in the U.S. Senate. Most of your questions about Obama will be answered if you take a little time to do your own research and not allow the media to shape your opinions. This country has established itself as a nation that looks at color first, then character and qualifications. This is 2008 and a NEW AMERICA is in the horizon!

If you look at the delegate count it turns out that actually, Obama only recieved one more delegate then Edwards and two more then Clinton. With Clinton likely getting a number of more super delegates then OBama and Edwards she is still far in the lead. She also is heading into a number of primaries where she should do well (at least as of the polling before Iowa). Even with a bump in the polls from Iowa it is not at all the case that he is the presumpive nominee.

I kind of liked huckabee until I read about his anti-abortion right wing Christian speeches, I kind of liked Hillary, until she saddled up next to her husband-it's not the cheating, it's the lying- now I like Obama because why not he's different-the worlds different- the worlds diversed-he's diverse-diverse people can communicate with diverse people-he's the new style leader for the global age-global leader global age-

PLEASE. IOWA means nothing except to the press. How many delegates are their? The big states are coming up, then we will see who the front runners are. Iowans are the the people who vote on American Idol. They just vote for whatever looks chic!

    • Posted By: knitster @ 01/04/2008 3:40:40 AM

I have been an Iowan for over 30 years and I have never even watched American Idol. Chic does not go very far in Iowa, substance does. Don't opine on what and who you don't know.

      • Posted By: GoForItAll @ 01/04/2008 10:05:33 AM

knitster, well said. It looks like there are people here who just like to talk, and do not know anything of what they are talking about.

I do not care if he if black or white, I do question his faith. Anyone can say they are Christian and we all know that politians running for office never lie!!!

    • Posted By: wh33 @ 01/04/2008 10:05:27 AM

What exactly does it matter if he is Christian or Muslim.????? Religion and color shouldn't even be an issue.

I am elated that Hillary failed in Iowa, as I had hoped she would. What surprised me was that Muhammed Obama won. What is this country coming to ? I guess if Oprah says he's great, then he is. Maybe he plans on making her his running mate.
