      Wait a minute . You tagged my comment ( History) with the wrong response. I History pointed out that if you perceive Obama as an articulate black man with many good characteristics why would you as a white person fear him. I was responding to the comment made by someone named racistamerica. They said that an educated black man is what white america fears. I pointed out the fact that Iowa is mainly white. If you feared an educated black man why would you vote for him. I am a white individual and agree that someone always seems to bring up race. Odd isn't it. ?????

        What we will have is BLACK people like you that just because Obama IS black you will vote for him. If his name were Hitler and he was black you vote for him. I don't have anything personel agains Obama it's he is not ready yet. Let him mature then in 16 years or so then elect him.

    Obama is sincere,genuine,true,unselfish,not greedy,universal in thinking,speech and acts.He is selfless ,altruistic and would take care of all the people of this country.Unlike others,he would be everybodys president even children know this.

    Are commentors on this page paid by particular campaigns? It sure sounds like it. Iowa voters know these candidates better than anyone else in the nation at this point, after relentless campaigning. Iowans have spoken and Obama was able to bring out RECORD NUMBERS of voters to support him. This will happen again and again. He draws crowds better than anyone and has for more than a year now. He has been an elected legislator more years, and has been elected more times, than Hillary or Edwards. Don't discredit service to a state senate as "not real experience." Is this this United STATES of America or not? Do we not practice FEDERALISM? State governments are crucial to this country's democracy and Obama has served for eight years in the Illinois state senate. He's authored more legislation than Hillary or Edwards and, most importantly, he has been on the RIGHT SIDE of issues. He is not currupt, triangulating, or cynical. He is the only one who spoke out against the Iraq war BEFORE IT BEGAN and has a credible health insurance plan. The biggest constituency in this country is people who don't vote. But Iowa has shown that people who have never voted before will show up and vote for Barack Obama.

    The people of Iwoa will regret what happened last night. They in fact wasted their vote. In the polls only 8% said they thought he could be elected. Or in essance said that was the reason to vote for Obama If you don't think he can winl why vote for him? I am a Republican and I am disapointed with George and was inteded to vote Democratic this year,but now if Obama get the nomanaion I will vote for whom ever is the
    Republican noanee. The winning.ticket is Cliton for president nd Richardson as VP. Then she could have Ewar as Secretary of state an alto Mcain is republican give hi the job as Secratar of Defence.

    If Obama wins the race to become the Democratic candidate for the Presidency, then we can look forward to 4 more years of Republican rule. Just stating what I consider to be a fact. Too many Democrats will jump over and WILL NOT vote for him.

      Thats pretty pathetic to vote or vote against someone because of their name. They should make a law you have to give a reason why you are voting for someone to actually vote. If they write because of their name the ballot should be destroyed because of stupidity.

    The reason I don't want Obama to win is that he, A Black American, will inherit and be blamed for the mess this country is in now. It can not be cleaned up over night. I wouldn't wish this on any of the Candidates, but especially a black person..

      You are so right about the "mess" we are in. Just look what has happened to the price of gasoline, natural gas, liquid propane, food, the housing bubble that has burst, along with many other adverse things that have happened since the Democrats won the House and Senate back in November of 2006. It will only get worse if they have the White House too. Eleven percent approval is less than half that of our President. Explain that!

    Barack Obama is as American as you can get. He has survived the odds. How proud his mother and grandparents would have been, wish they could have savored his victory.
