Yes, I agree, OBAMA is a lousy candidate, yes he is elocuent, but that is it. He has nothing to offer and further he is ruining the changes for us democrats to win in November. I will vote republican if obama is
the nominee, because he is sleek, inexperience and what is he going to change, we have congress, did
you forget that? I do no like his family dinamics too riskee, I hope this moment wll pass and we can elect the best men for job a woman, mrs clinton and her husband one of the best president we ever hed in modern times. It is the economy stupid.

White Americas WORST nightmare an EDUCATED BLACK MAN.

Faced with such overwhelming evidence of a country on the wrong path, Americans should be careful not to underestimate the resolve of their countrymen to alter that course. Iowa is but the tip of the iceberg.

The citizens have grown weary of the fearmongerers, the double-talkers, and the saber rattlers. Finally, finally, we can unite behind a leader who will inspire us with the hope, the purpose, and the can-do attitude that made this country great. Obama will unite these states of America.

???That skinny kid with the funny name??? has my vote.

You left-wingers are a joke and you can't stand the fact the economy is the best it's been in decades (and before you idiots say it, the President has very liitle control over the price for a barrel of oil, it's primarily driven speculators) and we are winning in Iraq.

Now we must solve the illegal immigration problem (lock up our borders). The housing mess will sort itself out. And not give in to those that want to take us back to a welfare state.

Now I give these comments a big AMEN!!!!

  • Posted By: dmelvin1123 @ 01/04/2008 8:07:32 AM

I am pleased and somewhat surprised. Obama's win in Iowa is an indication that America of the old has evolved into America of the new; the new thinkers, the young people no longer think as their fathers, mothers, etc. They see character and content not color; they focus on what is important not what is obvious.
I agree, Dr. Martin Luther King Jr. and John F. Kennedy (and others) would be PROUD....of their America.

I want a recount!!!! How many invalid caucus votes were cast for Obama by college students in Iowa by out of state collge students??? Did you see the segment on C-SPAN yesterday morning on Washinton Journal, about the Iowa Vote Project which was replayed and replay until the caucuses started!!!! The adovacte said that college student Iidentify more with Iowa than their home state there fore they have a right to vote in the caucus!!!! What every happened to one man one vote??? If you check into these invalid caucus votes I expect that you will find that Barack Obama did not win!!!!!

    • Posted By: Autoboxx @ 01/04/2008 8:05:20 AM

Uh oh... We got a hater.. LOL!!!

Hate the game, not the player...

  • Posted By: devore504 @ 01/04/2008 5:57:44 AM

I like Bill but not his wife. I love how all the whites are so worried they will have to deal with a black man. Jim Crow is over.

    • Posted By: racistamerica @ 01/04/2008 8:02:10 AM

That's where you are wrong, JIM CROW isn't over as you can tell by the comments on this board. He is very much alive in MIDDLE AMERICA and the SOUTHERN STATES.

    • Posted By: Stormie @ 01/04/2008 6:09:08 AM

Why bring race into this? Are you thinking Obama, with his "I will bring changes" will do anything different in the White House for the black people? Remember, he has to deal with the Senate and Congress to get any of his "changes" done. He will not be able to do anything himself.

  • Posted By: feedupwithamericans @ 01/04/2008 7:16:14 AM

    Obama is a MUSLIM !!!!!!!!!!!
What kind of american would vote of a MUSLIM ??????????????????????????

    • Posted By: racistamerica @ 01/04/2008 7:58:07 AM

He is not, you need to do some research before you make false claims. You are a RACIST.

  • Posted By: Autoboxx @ 01/04/2008 7:51:03 AM

Mess Bush has the country in?!?! Which one is that?? The Booming economy or the war in Iraq which we are winning now thanks to me and my brethren. If you are so worried about a lie, then you should blame William Jefferson Clinton because it was his administration that declared regime change was necessary in Iraq in 1998. Dont get mad because we actually did it.

Now, on to Obama and Huckabuck.. What a surprise last night. Who would've thought that Obama and Huck would be their competition so badly?? Although I doubt Huckabee will win New Hampshire, I think Obama has a chance their with the DEMS. I've never liked Hillary from day one. She is just too fake and you can see it when she talks. Congrats to both of the winners.

The Democratic establishment will quickly shift into "st op Obama" mode now and things will get tough for Barrack. Should he be the nominee, the Republican (read Karl Rove) attack machine will schred him to ribbons. They will call him "Osama" (by mistake of course) so many times that his own kids will believe that is daddy's name. They will bring in people from Indonesia that will swear he went to a Muslim school and had a Muslim education. They will even "suggest" that he may be a planted Muslim spy! He will be swiftboated to such an extend that he will always be on the defensive and will never get his message out. The dFemocrats should have supported someone safe with no negatives like Dodd or Biden. But no, we had to go with the three people that had the most negatives of all the candidates. meanwhile, come November we Democrats will once again be bemoaning our lost opportunities like we did in '00 and '04. Too bad because unless Hillary or Edwards win in NH, this thing could be over!

I have to call B.S. on this - this person must work for a campaign. The politics of fear? Give me a break.

      • Posted By: janeywan @ 01/04/2008 7:49:19 AM

        I hear you

      • Posted By: egoode2 @ 01/04/2008 1:38:16 AM

I agree. I think the real Republican fear is the liklihood of Rudy against any of the Democratic front-runners.

  • Posted By: composer433 @ 01/04/2008 7:48:55 AM

An American who is not a racist might vote for a muslim. Obama isn't a Muslim, but there seem to be plenty of racists running around.

  • Posted By: MIMI2008 @ 01/04/2008 7:48:42 AM

FEEDUPWITHAMERICANS> do your research Obama is not a Muslim, he is "unashamely black and CHRISTIAN". your comment confirms that indivuals are making comments about candiates without research on the canidates. Freedom of speech has been granted to you...just state the facts. What difference does it make the religion of the candiate just as you have been granted the freedom of speech they have been granted the freedom of choosing their religion. Did anyone ask Bush about his reglion??? And look at the state that we are in as Americans.

  • Posted By: sixhandicap @ 01/04/2008 7:46:05 AM

We can only hope this turncoat does win the Democratic nomination. The gloves are off now and we will see and hear in the coming weeks about the true character (or lack of) of this left-wing radical.

  • Posted By: sonnastraffan @ 01/04/2008 7:42:40 AM

Well done,Iowa Democrats!!We Europeans see great potential in Obama-maybe a Martin Luther King for this century and one who can inflict a death-blow on racism everywhere.

  • Posted By: sonnastraffan @ 01/04/2008 7:38:15 AM

Well done,Iowa democrats!! We Europeans see great potential in this man-maybe a Martin Luther King for a new century and a death-blow to racism everywhere if he makes it in Nov.

"They said our sights were set too high. They said this country was too divided, too disillusioned to ever come together around a common purpose but on this January night at this defining moment in history, you have done what the cynics said we couldn't do."

Go Obama!!! What ever happens from now on, his speech tonight was light years away from what Hillary and Edwards said together. He concentrated on Unity, Hope and Future and that's what the kind of a President that we desperately need.

Even Better - He tied Climate Change in the same group of challenges that included Nuclear Weapons, Terrorism and Diseases (Climate Change was mentioned third in this list). He also mentioned Global Warming and Climate Change twice in his speech.

Overall - his speech was as inspiring as some of the speeches I heard from the likes of Martin Luther King, Gandhi and Nelson Mandela. I obviously have a bias here, but if anyone who heard the speeches from Clinton and Edwards have to give it up to Obama.

What ever happens, this night is worth remembering. Please see his speech at any cost (if you missed it). Also - also see Hillary and Edwards speeches and let me know what you think.

Audacity of Hope. Hope is what propelled Obama and it's what is needed for America

    • Posted By: dewcooper @ 01/04/2008 7:33:37 AM

Let's see, more and more scientists are coming out AGAINST Global Warming which means Obama has not done his homework but is catering to the masses and is not grounded in reality. Also, he stole the 'hope' in his title fromClinton's campaign book, showing he has no originality or original thought. Makes me want to vote for him...

    • Posted By: jasmac @ 01/04/2008 2:07:11 AM

I agree with much of what you've said. In recent times, only Ronald Reagan was able to rekindle American pride and hope as effectively as Mr. Obama did in Iowa.

    • Posted By: californiavoter99 @ 01/04/2008 12:31:14 AM

This supposed monopoly on hope that Obama has is not only annoying but wrong. As if no other candidate or their supporters hope for a better America. We all hope. Don't try to make yourself holier-than-thou by claiming that you're the only candidate with hope.

      • Posted By: rcarrace @ 01/04/2008 12:45:54 AM

Yeah we could all hope for more unfair trade deals with the Clintons or another Republican. Clinton = "Republican in Sheeps Clothing".

  • Posted By: real right295 @ 01/04/2008 5:57:24 AM

god help us if he gets elected president . i will move to austrailia. he is as far left as you get and people dont forget obama or osama same thing.

    • Posted By: someonenew @ 01/04/2008 7:28:34 AM

The time to move was when Bush was elected President. Look at the mess this country is in right now. He refuses to do the right thing for America simply because he is a Republican and will not side with anything the Democrats wants just to show them! You're worried about Osama, well, Bush says he's not so why should you? We have men and women dying in Iraq based on a lie. No one could do worse and remember we had a Republican Congress to help him in all of this.

    • Posted By: someonenew @ 01/04/2008 6:36:05 AM

The time to move was when Bush became President. He's not concerned about Osama, why should you?
What kind of mess do you think we're in now. No one could do any worse!

For the umpteenth time....Obama is not a Muslim...he is a Christian. And his track record for embarking legitimate change is impeccable. So please, give your unfounded rhetoric and baseless slander a rest and join the rest of our country in congratulating Sen. Obama on his win in Iowa. Like it or not, he IS the next president of OUR United States of America.

WOW!! "BLACK PEOPLE IN SOUTH CAROLINA" the "WHITE PEOPLE IN IOWA". your statements applies more to racism then about the political mess that we as Americans are currently living. Black, white, brown I am confident we will vote for whom we believe that will be the best candiate for the job. At the end of the day it is still a "RACE" and their is no winner yet. Yes I am a "BARACK HUSEIN OBAMA" fan......
