Good for Barack Obama. Obama has vision. I will be a pleasure to have a person in the White House that can actually speak English and do it so eloquently.

Obama is not black he is muslim!! Yes his dad was a radical muslim and so was his stepdad who he was raised by...and swore in with the koran...America open your eyes he is not black!

It would be awesome if there was a mandatory IQ test to post on forums. Go shovel it somewhere else, "mice".

And yes, there are many black muslims. "Black" is a race, Muslim is a religion. Race and religion are two different things, and they are not mutually exclusive. Many Africans are Muslims. That doesn't mean that they are not what we would consider "black."

It will be interesting to see what dirt the Republicans will find about Obama

I suppose you have not a single vice!? To deem one an unworthy being because they smoke a cigarette says a lot about your character and ignorance. I myself do not smoke, but I also would not judge someone for doing so. The same as I would not judge one for enjoying a cocktail after work or praying to a different God on Sunday morning. You are in part the reason that this so called "hole" you refer to even exists. Closed minded!!!!

the only candidate that could steal my vote for obama would be Ron Paul. As they say, "google ron paul"...I might even change to republican so I can cast a vote that really matters (or at least one that I really really believe in) in the upcoming primary.

I pay heavy attention to all the issues, personality characteristics, where the candidates stand etc. For me - the issue comes down to authenticity honestly. I like Edwards - I would have voted for him in 2004 had he made it far enough to make it to TX...but I can honestly say that my excitement for Obama far exceeds any candidate that I have ever seen. I'm not excited because he's the anointed "ROCKSTAR" that they talk about on political shows...I'm excited because I see a person who is very intelligent, positive and genuine. I know where he stands on the issues and I LOVE that he does not have a problem speaking openly to people he disagrees with and I'm not just talking about Iran or North Korea. I find it amazing that he could go to Wall Street and tell them things need to change...for him to go to Detroit and talk about the need for energy independence and increasing mileage standards...for him to have the courage to run a positive campaign and be fully transparent about issues such as congressional earmarks while elected as well as a pledge to run without money from 527's, PAC's or lobbyist money. I'm sorry...I just don't trust Hillary. If it came down to McCain and Clinton - I'd vote for McCain. If it came down to Clinton/Giuliani or Clinton/Romney...I'd vote Clinton. I'd even vote for Huckabee before I voted for Clinton. And the reason behind it is not because she's a bad person...she has good intentions too in her own way. But she changes her position and tries to basically "piggyback" on Obama's message of change. And it really doesn't work for me that her campagin (as well as Romney's) were without question the most negative, underhanded campaigns. They threw every dirty trick in the book at Obama; thank goodness it didn't stick. TRUST is important. Two months ago it was "Turn up the Heat" and now its "Change". What a great buzzword - where have I heard that before? its all about authenticity and capability, otherwise you really don't know what you're getting when the person is elected into the White House. Personally - I think Obama is the real deal...now if I can just convince my wife - I'll know he can really do this. :)

No problem stopping Obama. Obama will stop Obama. His inexperience and naivete' will be his undoing. He has revealed his lack of experience and knowledge of the world before and it has been forgiven by the MSM. His next gaffe, whether concerning foreign policy or just his lack of knowledge concerning what constitutes a threat to the United State will not be so quickly forgiven or forgotten. I hope.

Hillary cannot compete with OBAMA. Look at the contrast in speeches. One who is in denial and still speaking like a front runner and the other inspiring all Americans, OLD YOUNG, BLACK, WHITE,. This is a movement and cannot be stopped. Hillary should not try and fight this movement she needs to embrace it if she want to at least come in second. She needs to understand that her scripted campaign has failed her. She needs to listen to her gut. She needs to do what she thinks is right not what BIll thinks is right. Lets Go Hillary a proud second is your destiny.

Obama is attractive, eloquent, persuasive and inspiring, but he is unvetted, unprepared, and untested for the tough job ahead. He will not be the best Democratic President that can be elected in 2008.

Hillary's accomplishments and the events in her life all point toward becoming one of the greatest Presidents the U.S. ever had.

    • Posted By: debatenotberate @ 01/04/2008 2:37:34 AM

Otilla I salute you - very few words, but you express exactly what I think of Senator Obama, and of Senator Clinton.

    • Posted By: oldstuff @ 01/04/2008 2:23:54 AM

      that's just silly

  • Posted By: Sity10 @ 01/04/2008 2:03:55 AM

I don't really know where you are getting your information, but Barack Obama is not a muslim, nor was he sworn into office with his hand on the Qur'an, you may be thinking of Keith Ellison of Oregon, as he was the first American politician to be sworn into office on the Qur'an in 2006. Also, Obama's father, although brought up in a muslim environment, was an atheist. He was not raised by a stepfather, as when he was ten he went back to Hawaii to live with his grandparents. Further, his father did not die of a car accident until 1982, when Obama was 21. I doubt he was being raised by a stepfather when he was 21. So, concidering all your 'facts' are wrong... Unless you want to claim his mother's paretns were radical muslims, too, you don't really have a anything to stand on, manamice.

    • Posted By: tremendousbrunette @ 01/04/2008 2:31:36 AM

Keith Ellison is actually a representative from Minnesota, not Oregon.

  • Posted By: alamo6 @ 01/04/2008 2:24:06 AM

Obama? A total waste of time and money. He's all flash and no substance. Not fit to lead a horse much less a country. Better he pack his bag and go back to school. Not much to select from in the Democratic Party, especially the slick Clintons.

  • Posted By: Some Guy @ 01/04/2008 12:20:13 AM

Obama is just flat-out inspiring. Did you see his acceptance speech tonight? ...........Wow.

Compared to Clinton's canned comments? Forget about it.

    • Posted By: csmith31 @ 01/04/2008 1:34:50 AM

his acceptance speech was historic i just heard the J.F.K of our time it was from the heart you cannot write something so powerful

      • Posted By: oldstuff @ 01/04/2008 2:22:50 AM

J.F.K. was a philandering womanizer who stole the election in Illinois escalated Vietnam, and screwed up the bay of pigs . His character is more like GWB than Barack Obama. Barack offers real hope, not a politicians hope.

  • Posted By: alamo6 @ 01/04/2008 2:21:19 AM

Obama? Total waste of time and money. All flash and no substance and certainly no experience to lead a horse much less a country. Better he pack his bags and go back to school.

  • Posted By: independentvoter @ 01/03/2008 11:17:17 PM

I think I heard that Bill Clinton only got 3 percent of the Iowa vote in 1992 and he went on to be the Dem's nominee and won the Presidency. Correct me if I am wrong but what does this vote tonight really mean considering that?

    • Posted By: jasmac @ 01/04/2008 2:19:26 AM

What the vote really does is gets the media into high gear. It will build Mr. Obama up for awhile, until he's well enough known that it's time to knock him down a peg or two. The media will then begin to dig out the nasty bits of Mr. Obama's past and do all the things the media has always done.

Comment: NO ONE LIKES BEING CAUGHT WITH THEIR PANTS DOWN. EXPERIENCE.AND JUDGEMENT. WHAT CAN HILLARY DO THAT OBAMA CANNOT. THIS IS THE QUESTION I HAVE BEEN ASKING MYSELF. I THINK THE WORLD WILL WELCOME OBAMA AND AT LEAST GAVE HIM A FAIR CHANCE. REPUBLICANS WILL SWALLOW THEIR PRIDE AND WORK WITH OBAMA. THEY WILL NEVER DO THAT WITH HILLARY. HILLARY AND EDWARDS ARE GOOD PEOPLE, HOWEVER THEIR VOTING RECORD AND THEIR LACK OF COURAGE HAS LEAD ME TO QUESTION WHETHER THEY HAVE THE RIGHT INSTINCTS AND JUDGEMENT TO BE IN OFFICE. I REALLY THINK THEY WOULD BE MORE EFFECTIVE UNDER AN OBAMA PRESIDENCY. OBAMA WILL NOT TRY AND CONTROL EVERYTHING.
sANDY, EDWARDS IS DESpERATE. thIS MAN FOLLOWED JOHN KERRY. HE WILL DO AND SAY ANYTHING. EVEN IF HE MEANS IT NOW IT IS TOO LATE. OBAMA AND CLINTON ARE TOO SMART, THEY KNOW THAT WHAT YOU SAY TODAY COULD FINISH YOU TOMORROW. ONLY A CANDIDATE WITH NOTHING TO LOSE WILL SAY WHAT EDWARDS IS SAYING. WHAT HAS HE DONE. BE HONEST. HILLARY IS pROUD THAT SHE WENT AGIANST HER pRINCIpLES TO GIVE BUSH A BLANK CHECK. WHY. IT WAS GOOD FOR WESTERN NEW YORK. HILLARY IS NOT STUpID IF THE WAR HAD NEGATIVE ECONOMIC CONSEQUENCES IN BUFFALO, SHE WOULD HAVE VOTED AGAINST IT. TRANSpARENCY IS SOMETHING NIETHER pARTY WANTS. NO ONE LIKE GETTING CAUGHT WITH THEIR pANTS DOWN AND THEN LECTURED ABOUT JUDGEMENT CALL..

This is the comment I posted a couple of day agos. I am an American and I know my people. ALL My analysis were correct and backed by facts. I proved to be the most accurate going back months. Hopefully, people will learn that if you research and back your arguments with facts you will find the truth. I like Hillary and Edwards but they need to understand that they cannot overcome their records, they sold out to the same forces that have been "Punishing us for the last decade . Edwards cannot implement what he says and Hillary is haunted by the bill thing that is why she has to be careful not to go to negative. I will offer my advise on what the losers should do tomorrow. NO ONE LIKEs BEING CAUGHT WITH THEIR PANTS DOWN. OBAMA FOR PRESIDENT. DcooPer and deeP thinker you should study THE LIKEABILITy FACTOR and understand that I know more than all these Political Pundits and . Phd's. Did you see kieth OBEIRMAN and all those funny PeoPle on MSNBC. THey are dumb. They really looke devastated. Everything they believed in and all their Pundits were wrong. They were so one sided, Hillary. THe media has to recognize that more and more PeoPle do not believe them. They rePresent corPorations who have been indoctrinating us to sPene like wild animals and go into debt. DEbt financing. YOu know with CHINA. Everyone should read my comments and decide for temselves. Mitt Romney is a true clown just like Guilliani. His lies make me weeP like I said all along. His solution to health care is too offer Packagaes which PeoPle cannot afford. This man has just fliP floP too much and has followed the BUSH DOCTRINE. THAT EX Pired two years ago. I look forward to seeing his comPlete defeat in a couPle of weeks. Romney does not rePresent change HENRY TAFT BENSON. MY PEOPLE HAVE SEEN THROUGH THE MIRAGE. OBAMAMcCain for President. I backed every Post with facts. I am a Proud graduate of UMD in Maryland. I graduated four years ago and I am Part of a movement behind OBAMA that wants the best for ALL AMERICANS, EVEN GINGRICH and some of my friends who ridiculed my Posts. I have also had a loyal following of comment makers including suPPorters of all Parties. GOd Bless America.they have awaken a sleePing GIANT.

Comment: Deep Thinker, Obama has been a success his whole life, He is far beyond his years and has always excelled above his peers. You need to research his eight years as an Illinois state senator. Obama is very intelligent and has proven it time and time again. He never got a free handout. He worked hard and accomplished more than anyone else his age in his field. That is a fact. What has Obama done that makes you think that he is not ready to be president, deep thinker. NO ONE LIKES BEING CAUGHT WITH THEIR PANTS DOWN. OBAMA
