Jesus Christ can stop Obama even if Hillary can't. If he doesn't come out as clearly trusting Jesus as his personal savior, he won't do well with mainstream America. Nobody wants a trained radical Muslim as president.

If Obama wins, I will leave this country until a real "Democratic President" comes along. Go Hillary!

  • Posted By: lukeyminukey @ 01/04/2008 11:52:21 AM

Please, do not let Hillary into office. It doesn't matter who gets it, just please not her. I know all politicians are shady, but her past is as bad as it gets. She will destroy this country, amking it even worse than it already is.

Wow! Who could have imagined that a black man could outright win in the IOWA Caucus! Barack Obama has did it! I support Hillary Clinton and although she has faired way less than expected, I am enjoying the fact that either Clinton or Obama will be making history if either one of them are successful in winning the Presidential election. Yes I want a woman in the Whitehouse and yes having a Black (person) would be the ultimate win. My reasoning for wanting Hillary was that as unpopular as it is, I like the Clintons, both Bill and Hillary and what better scenario than to have a strong person like Hillary and her husband, who just happened to have been one of our president to be in the Whitehouse. It is too bad that many hate on Hillary because they do not like Bill; get over it people! Bill in my opinion ran the country well and it will be great for Hillary to every now and then, seek out his opinion and or advice. Yes I am a woman of color and I will support Obama 110% should be come the parties nominee. I deeply believe America is not ready to accept a person of color yet as President. Time will tell if the face of change can sway the other parts of the country. I just do not want to see Obama hurt or have to defend his ethnicity 24 ???7, I believe the world will accept him, it is America that will be struggling to embrace him. This is the most exciting election since the Kennedy era! It is causing ???Great Debate??? and interest. I see young people embracing the change and actually showing high interest and intelligent discussions. I love it! So yes I will support my candidate until she removes herself, but without a doubt I will vote and support Obama should he be the Democratic nominee.

The press seems to be ignoring Huckabee. I think that the powers that be, can't believe that it may be possible for an ordinairy person to still sit in the white house. I wonder what thier reaction would have been to Abraham Lincoln back in the day. Different time that is for sure, but this country seems to be less than a Democracy this morning by the unequal Press that Huckabee recieves compared to Obama. I hope the people demand that Huckabee is heard so we can maybe salvage this country from the Coporate Machines that run it.

    Comment: FELLOW AMERICANS:

PLEASE stop hating on Obama the REA:L THREAT is

MITT "the child raper" ROMNEY. HE IS A MORMON. A proven GOD HATER.

We need to stop him and send a loud message to ALL MORMONS THAT THEY WON'T be tolerated. They can't marry anymore 13 year old girls. POLYGAMY is wrong and sinful!

STOP HIS ANTI-GOD race to the whitehouse!

    • Posted By: ETHIE6754 @ 01/04/2008 11:50:19 AM

Show me the Proff you speak of that LDS people are GOd Haters as you said. Also, show me where in your religion it says it's okay to openly lie and dissrespect another person or their beliefes. I'm LDS, and we don't practice Polygomy, and we certainly don't have anything in our church that teaches it's okay for sex with a minor. In fact, we teach that a person should not even go on a formal date until you are 16 years old, let a lone get married... Check your facts before you spout off next time.

Hater? Really you are the one hating. Mormons... Latter-Day Saints do not believe in raping 13 yr olds and do not hate God. Do not confuse Fundamentalist sects with the Church of Jesus Christ of Latter-Day saints. Your love of God and fellow men is so apparent as well. .. ??I think you need to have you head examined. Later on you should move on to your soul. Have a lovely day!

Congratulations to Al Qaida. I hope everyone is buying a copy of the Koran. The other candidates should just replay the video showing his dis-respect for the National Anthem !!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!

Unfortunately for the vast majority of americans electing a president is nothing more than a fad or the following of empty promises. The election of a president is not a fashion show or a follow the leader contest. The election of a president is a very important decision that affects all of the citizens of this country and even the world. Security, finances, crime, world stature and many other factors that will affect our lives for four years and perhaps for generations to come we make at this time. I have been listening to the candidates answer questions and it is obvious in most instances that their answers are mostly improvised by what their audiences would like to hear. We do not need to elect a fast mouth president. This nation needs to be led with integrity and pexperience. There is no one running for president in 2008 that matches the life and integrity of John McCain. If you are not sure of this research it. I hope that on election day americans will use wisdom and do not stand in front of the election booth just to follow another fad.

Didn't Andrew Young comment tht Obama would be the greatest President we ever had -- in 2012?

I'm white but so far am planning to vote for Obama. Although he isn't Muslim, I have an African-American customer who uses my secretarial service and through him I know that there is a big difference between the radical Islam of Osama and the Islam practiced by my customer and many Muslims I see in my city.

The only good thing I like about Huckaby is his stand on the Fair Tax. But I feel we need a Democratic president now. Even Huckaby seems to want to use some military force to solve some of the issues in Pakistan (at least that's what he discussed on Meet the Press last week).

I've only recently started getting involved and keeping up with politics because I've come to realize we're going to lose many of our rights if we don't all start getting involved.

    MITT ROMNEY HATES OBAMA TOO.

    MORMONS DON'T like BLACK PEOPLE.

  • Posted By: strongblackman @ 01/04/2008 11:47:35 AM

only small ,simple minded people would think that because we have a black president "the neighborhood"would change. Seems to me "the neighborhood" changed awhole lot since- white suppossedly christian Bush Jr moved in. Lets be real white or black we need a change. Of course if you don't like it you could always move to....lets say the moon!

It's so sad to see the rampant bigotry and ignorance in many of these comments. I do not side with Obama, but am intelligent enough to know that he is a man and an american - plain and simple. I would not be disappointed if he did become president instead of my candidate, as it would go a long way in breaking the cycle of hatred that has been handed down from generation to generation. So, please, do us all a favor and save your rants for the next tractor pull with your friend Bubba. And btw, leave the kids at home with a nice book - perhaps, "The Audacity of Hope".

It hasn't even begun. Discussion of race and racism will begin to dominate the discussion in the presidential campaign. The racist will start it, the press will eat it up and fan it for ratings, and Obama will be caught up in the storm regardless of his intentions. The storm will take away from the the incredible amounts of energy needed on the critical issues at a critcal time in history. These issues are issues that effect all Americans and the rest of the world. Those who believe differently are naive. IT IS GOING TO GET VERY UGLY. So, don't be shocked.

Let me add, Obama is a highly flawed candidate from a general election perspective. He will not carry a single state in the southeast because of race. Period. He will absolutely energize the racist element here in the south, and that element is still significant on the surface and huge in it's latent form. His admitted history of past admitted drug usage will emerge as a huge issue. The Clinton staffer was absolutely correct to bring this up as something that needs to be discussed in the primaries. YOU CAN BET YOUR CHILDRENS LIVES THAT THE REPUBLICANS WILL SWIFTBOAT OBAMA TO DEATH ON THE DRUG ISSUE. Many white Americans, once they consider the basic facts in the general election, are going to be reluctant to give the most powerful job in the world to a young black man with no governing experience and is a former drug user. There will be enough people who go on those facts alone that will swing the tide in favor of the Republican, especially if the Republicans run a moderate candiated which looks likely. Unfortunately, Democrat voters are blind to the core beliefs and emotions of independents and Republicans, and are therefore unlikely to see the real flaws in Obama as a candidate. They did not see the in Kerry either. How could they have seen that Kerry's Vietnam history would not damange him? How can they believe that Obama's drug history will not damage him? The margins between the two political parties are still much too thin to chance the nomination on someone who has flaws that will completely alienate 10-15% of the voters.

Obama supporters should understand that their great victory in Iowa yesterday will be likely be the parties phyrric in November.

Huckabee won't let Obama be president? When did Huckabee get the proxy for all the votes in the country? I know I didn't give him my vote. Obama's speech was one of unification and where we can work for the greatest good. Interesting, Hillary's speech was focused on her - not we - "I am best to be president." Senator Clinton should join Senator Dodd and Senator Biden back on Capitol Hill and not on the campaign trail.

I don't understand why we keep hearing that Barack Obama will be the first African American president if he wins when in reality he will be the first interacial president if he wins. Is he ashamed of his Causasian mother, or the fact that his African father is not an American? Please the whole truth!!! I am not sure at this point who I am supporting but his denying part of his heritage bothers me what else will he deny??

    • Posted By: lawill8 @ 01/04/2008 11:45:50 AM

I think we call him African -American or black because of the "one drop" theory that is coming back from the days of slavery and heightened prejudice where you weren't white or "pure blood" if you had a drop of black blood in you. Most bi-racial (black/white) Americans have no other label to define themselves but as African -American. Barack Obama isn't really black, but he won't be labeled as otherwise. He is probably more cognizant of the fact that he's bi-racial than others. And I don???t think he is trying to define himself as ???not white???. This is a similar situation with native Indians. As for why Americans of any other racial or ethnic background other than European based Caucasians are identified as e.g. African American I think that the product of an older less inclusive America that used to exist. It???s just become the norm now to identify with these names.

Actually, African American is the perfect description, as one of his parents was African and the other was American. But keep in mind that he is not the one talking about race. He has not denied any part of his heritage. It's the media that keeps going on about race.

      • Posted By: dewcooper @ 01/04/2008 9:25:49 AM

Wouldn't American African be the perfect description, placing the emphasis on HIS citizenship and not his father's? I would want a president who puts America first, not his race.

    • Posted By: lugnut @ 01/04/2008 1:22:55 AM

His Mother is white. We know this. His father is black. We know this. There is nothing anybody can do or say about it, that can change that fact.

    • Posted By: SEDH @ 01/04/2008 11:45:24 AM

Obama will become the next president! Just in case you have not noticed...that decision will not be made by Huckabee, but the American people!

  • Posted By: rrhk46 @ 01/04/2008 11:44:47 AM

I agree with the coment that if oboma wins I wil probably vote reprulican. It is not becase of raceism. Raceism is what is getting him votes. It is bacause of all his votes of "present" not yes or no on issues. A president need to vote on what he stands for not just voice it.
