John Edwards is the ONLY candidate that Americans should consider. Listen carefully to all the candidates and remember.. we're putting our lives and our future in their hands. Vote responsibly. Vote John Edwards.

Honey88 needs to go back to school and learn how to spell! Stop being such a racist!

I agree with the coment that if oboma wins I wil probably vote reprulican. It is not becase of raceism. Raceism is what is getting him votes. It is bacause of all his votes of "present" not yes or no on issues. A president need to vote on what he stands for not just voice it.

I think this article is actually racist. Blacks will follow Whites as if we are incapable of making our own decisions. I understand the facts of the past; but speaking for myself ( An African American) I'm offended.
If you read between the lines of this article you may be able to relate. It should be called "How Can We Stop Obama".

    Ron Paul...our ONLY hope.

I hope Obama wins the nomination and the presidential election. Not because he is Black like me but because he has suffered the same amount of prejudice as me. Black people do not trust Obama because he's not "ghetto" and "talks white". They think he's an Uncle Tom. But I have been rooting for him all along, not 'cause he's black but because he's different. I think that its time to take America in a new direction and stop worrying about labels and get to solving the problems. "President" has suffered being a stereotype ("White, Christian, male") far too long and since as a society we have been so worried about keeping that, we lost sight of the important issues that the most honest, qualified candidate is what's important, not the prettiest one or the wittiest one or the most traditional one. I think that Obama winning the Iowa caucus is a step in the right direction for America...not because he's Black but because he's different.

Anyone who won't respect our flag and national anthem does not need to be head of our country. Obama does not do this and I think he would ruin our country if he is elected

What in the world are you talking about? Do you read much, listen to any news.....do they have TV or even electricity where you live? For Pete's sake! Here is a thought, listen to the candidates, and make up your own mind!

    • Posted By: Temujin @ 01/04/2008 11:17:15 AM

      Watch Fox News much?

Read the voting records of the senatorial candidates! There isn't one of them that deserves to hold the office they HAVE, let alone President! Any senator voting against English as the OFFICIAL language of the United States has no business representing tax-paying Americans.

  • Posted By: mimi2 @ 01/04/2008 11:23:45 AM

While the Iowa results cannot be taken lightly, there is still a long way to go. As a lifelong Democrat, I will not vote for Obama. It has nothing to do with his skin color and everything to do with the fact that 3 years ago he was an Illinois legislator. What has he accomplished in the senate as a junior senator? Not much. If Obama gets the nod, democrats can kiss their chances of taking the White House in '08 good-bye.

    • Posted By: SEDH @ 01/04/2008 11:39:59 AM

Wake up! Democrats who refuse to vote for Obama as the democratic candidate, are by default voting for republicans. You know the old saying... Good people who don't vote, elect bad candidates.

    • Posted By: pinkpanther87413 @ 01/04/2008 11:39:30 AM

what good could any democrat do in a GOP controled Senate man wake up the Dems have had and still have no chance to overrule any GOP motion not one! THEY [Dems] ARE THE MINORITY NOT MAJORITY IN THE SENATE!!!

    • Posted By: wmoore2476 @ 01/04/2008 11:32:12 AM

If you are truely a life long democrat and Obama wins the nomination and you turn around and vote for a republican, there is only one reason you would do that - racism!!

I have known MIKE hUCKABEE for a number of years and he seems to keep coming back in hard times in politics. He is not a force his religeous belief on government, but will follow the ten commandments, which is a good thing for the country to follow. Huckabee will be next president and Obama will not win in other states as in iowa. cdg in arkansas

Sad to be an American when I read comments like some of the ones below. The wonders of a public school education never cease to amaze! The dumbest people in the world along with the smartest live in our country. Obama is a Black Muslim? Good grief!! Dummy! He won't fly the flag? Moron! Why would Whites have a "real shock" if he wins? Would they be made slaves or something, forced to listen to rap music? Lord have mercy! It's a wonder that this country has survived for over 200 yrs, seems those of us with brians are dragging the unfortunate ones along for the ride! Black does not equal Ghetto, White does not equal intelligence. If I had a dollar for everytime I heard "My best friend is Black!" I'd be running also. Hummmmm perhaps, I could open an e-store, BBF "Get a Black Best Friend.com" There should be a test before anyone could vote, for the candidates...who they are and what they stand for. Educated voters only! Sadly all of the people posting here probably will cast votes in the election and for some of you, that's an awful shame! God bless America because we really need it!!!

If the Dems nominate Obama, they have set themselves up for failure in November. There may be a broad appeal in the black and young-voter community, they will be overwhelmed by those who will throng to the poll to vote AGAINST a black man.

I'm not happy about this or hopeful that it will happen, but I think Obama would do more to galvanize the rednecks in all parties than he could make up with the relatively small footprint of his constituency.

Ignorance is still alive and well in America..... That should scare the hell out of all of us.

i think it is fabulous that this country has come so far as to have both a woman and a minority running for president. But that's about where the race and gender issues need to end. i am tired of hearing "people won't vote for obama because he's black" or people are voting for clinton because she's a female. if one is not going to make an informed decision based on things that will actually affect a candidate's ability to do the job, then why vote? DEAL WITH THE REAL ISSUES, PEOPLE!

As someone watching the campaign from afar (Jamaica), I am yet to see the kind of depth and intellectual fervour that Barack Obama brings to this campaign. America not only needs a populist it also needs a performer. Mrs Clinton is on point and strong in her ability to foster understanding and dialogue without the use of overworked cliches and celebrity endorsements. So America....who will it be?......the Populist or the Performer?

With Barack Obama President , the United States of America will rise up higher and higher . We need him to return as the hope .

  • Posted By: blueshadow @ 01/04/2008 11:04:36 AM

Dispite the fact that obama is black, chistian, and well fit to be our next president. i think his campaign is more of a movement and movements needs victory, his win in iowa will give him a major momentum. That also gives him recognition in all of America, people will want to know more about him and then they will find out who he really is. With that he will catch up to cilnton nationally, and the polls already show that he wins against any repulican there is. They might come at him hard but it all comes down to the american people, and they don't buy any untrue nonsense!!!

    • Posted By: dewcooper @ 01/04/2008 11:31:25 AM

How well did the last two 'movements' go - Nadar and Perot?

Didn't Andrew Young say that Obama would be the best President we ever had -- in 2012?
