HILLARY WILL BOUNCE BACK WITH A VENGENCE. I THINK OBAMA IS A FINE PERSON AND A GOOD CANDIDATE BUT HIS LACK OF ACTUAL FOREIGN POLICY EXPERIENCE REMINDS ME OF THE GOOFBALL WE HAVE IN THE WHITE HOUSE NOW.....OBAMA CAN ENJOY THESE FEW DAYS OF HIS VICTORY ALTHOUGH TO SAY HIS WAS HUGE WHEN 62% OF IOWANS VOTED FOR SOMEONE OTHER THAN OBAMA DOESNT JUST SEEM LIKE A HUGE WIN TO ME.

    • Posted By: Johnsonium @ 01/04/2008 4:34:48 PM

You share a problem Hilary has. You yell too much. Obama will take it. He has all of the qualities that people look for in a Dem president. Guess what, foreign policy is always low on the list.

Again, I say that change for the sake of change is not a method of governance. We need competence not cupidity. I'd be more than willing to vote for Barack in say, 10 or 15 years. With 7 years as a State Senator and 4 years on the National scene, he just doesn't have the experience.

Say what you want about Hillary's experience as a First Lady at the state and national levels, she was involved in the POLITICS of governing. As a legislator, Barack has no experience in that area; has he even chaired a subcommitee in the Senate? I don;t know for sure, but I doubt it.

        • Posted By: Johnsonium @ 01/04/2008 6:53:52 PM

He has no experience voting for a horrendous war and then worse, refusing to admit the mistake. You are correct. At least you've found the Caps Lock key.

The Republicans arent talking about Obama because they dont know how to combat him without sounding like a bunch of racists. Obama would TROUNCE Huckabee. Obama is more genuine that Mitt "Ken" Romney and has more 'family values' in his pinkie than Rudy has in his whole body. NICE try though.

    Obama 08

Yeah, and we all believed that John Kerry would leave George W. battered and bleeding, and look how well that worked out. You can't expect the national electorate to vote for someone as far to the left as Barack, and even if we did somehow manage to elect him, the Congress that got elected with him would be so far to the right that it would scare Mussolini.

      • Posted By: Johnsonium @ 01/04/2008 6:52:44 PM

Nobody I know that supported Kerry was enthusiastic about him. He was simply "not Bush". He was also simply "not inspiring". Obama and Kerrry are apples and oranges. Kerry is Dukakis to Obama's Bill Clinton. Try again.

She is married(?) to the spin master! Bill would spin "stuff" so fast it wouldn't stick. Remember they called him the teflon president. I hope people see the real her---nasty, power hungry, patronizing, smartaleck---screaming, cursing, bigot she is.
And It is just Iowa. Not California, Texas, or New York!
And I am a white woman democrat from a very liberal background.

    • Posted By: Johnsonium @ 01/04/2008 6:10:40 PM

Reagen was the Teflon president. Clinton had no accepted equivalent nickname. Myself, I called him the Kevlar president. He took point blank shots to the chest and still survived (see impeachment).

      • Posted By: Poofs Oofs @ 01/04/2008 6:22:19 PM

excuse me. But I have heard him called that. As for Kevlar, it would have nice for him to have approved that for troops in the Balkans. The IMPEACHMENT thing was just in poor taste and a waste of taxpayer money. I am from the SHUN those who do immoral acts. And I do know what is IS. The meanist thing Americans should do to the Clintons is what they did to Nixon ignore him until he was old and pitiful.

        • Posted By: Johnsonium @ 01/04/2008 6:46:10 PM

If you heard him referred as that, then the writer you were reading was lazy and simply stole Reagen's nickname. Google "bill clinton" "teflon president" and you get 2800 hits. Google "ronald reagan" "teflon president", 5550 hits. Since Reagen came first, it's his nickname. Perhaps if the writers wanted be lazy they should have called Clinton "Teflon President 2", though Clinton had plenty of things stick to him, just didn't cause a mortal wound. Something like Kevlar.

Is there any truth that Obama is a member of a church for blacks only.?

    • Posted By: gangwayjan @ 01/04/2008 6:45:09 PM

No, Mr Obama is not a member of a "church for blacks only." I am an 50-plus white woman and I have been welcomed at Trinity United for services. It is a African-american centered Christian church -- just like we have in Chicago Polish Catholic churches and Irish Catholic churches and German Lutheran churches and Eastern European synogues -- not exclusive, kind of speicalized.

        • Posted By: Johnsonium @ 01/04/2008 6:15:21 PM

Because this was debunked a long time ago. It's a con talking point and has no merit.

The spin started last week when the numbers were starting to slip. She is married(?) the spin master, the teflon president. I am just waiting for the real Hillary to come out---the nasty, power hungry, screaming, cursing, patronizing bigot who can't understand why people don't want to "taken care of". And before you start on me. I am a feminist, white, liberal with a family background that had pictures of FDR , JFK and Jesus in the livingroom.

    • Posted By: jackel1229 @ 01/04/2008 6:30:29 PM

FDR, JFK and Jesus. You should have had WJC up there too then you would have had the Trifecta of womanizers with Jesus. I thought feminists did not like men who used and abused women

Clinton isn't the Teflon president. That's Reagen. See my response to your other vary similar post.

Hey wait a minute, FOUL! Post Iowa caucus, we have chief Clinton strategist Mark Penn saying Obama has electability problems due to his teenage drug use (which Obama himself disclosed in an honest bestseller of a book written well prior to his entering national politics), just the kind of thing that Hillary Clinton disavowed when it issued forth from her New Hampshire chair, who subsequently resigned. Will Hillary now disassociate herself from Penn I wonder? Or does it give us rather more insight into Hillary than what she actually says?

    • Posted By: Johnsonium @ 01/04/2008 6:19:23 PM

The drug issue will backfire on Hilary. If anything she should know the power of contrition. Had her husband used it earlier, his problems would have been a lot les.

      • Posted By: thawkins @ 01/04/2008 6:25:19 PM

I hope so; we need a break from politics as usual and that's one change Hillary seems incapable of delivering.

      • Posted By: dg17256 @ 01/04/2008 6:23:40 PM

        Brooding.

  • Posted By: wyl5326 @ 01/04/2008 6:23:36 PM

Hill is pitching a new tactic because all her previous pitches bombed. But it will just remind old voters of her changing hairdo after the debacle of Hillarycare, and become the joke and sneered at like how her cackle in the past few months which was was supposed to project her warm character. She can't change her natural character and that is what is sinking her campaign. No amount of deodorant can salvage the stink of her charcter.

Is there any truth to the latest e-mails that Obama belongs to a church for blacks only, the Trinty chrisitain church....

    • Posted By: gangwayjan @ 01/04/2008 6:22:57 PM

The Trinity United Chruch is not a "Blacks only: church. I am a white 50-plus woman; I have attended services there; I was quite welcomed. It is an "African American Christian Chruch" like we have in Chicago Irish Catholic Churches and German Lutheran ones and Eastern European synogues -- not exclusive, kind of specialized. I hope that answers you question.

    • Posted By: Johnsonium @ 01/04/2008 5:44:24 PM

No. There's no truth to it.

OK BUCKO, I AM NOT GIVING UP ON HILLARY. I JUST NEEDED TO LET OFF SOME STEAM. I AM A DEVOUT DEMOCRAT IN A VERY REPUBLICAN AREA OF TEXAS AND GET A LOT OF HEAT FROM FRIENDS. GO HILLARY!!!!

    • Posted By: Johnsonium @ 01/04/2008 4:47:44 PM

Why should we trust anyone who doesn't know where the Caps Lock key is? Do you also drive around with your blinker perpetually on?

Obama touts change, but he never says how. Could I walk into the headquarters of Ford Motor Company at say that I will bring great change because I'm new? Under 30 year old voters may not remember, but during the Clinton Administration we had an economic surplus and peace. Hillary very much pushed for change and shook up the establishment. She was criticized for being over active for a First Lady. Hillary has the experience and records of accomplishments. Obama has only emotional appeal and if you listen to his speeches, he tells fibs, such as his claim to have brought health care to all citizens of Illinois, which simply is not true. And he lied about how he felt about immigrant driver licenses to criticize Hillary and then changed his position at the next debate. Hillary has always kept her character and integrity, even when she's loosing and that's what makes a good leader.

    • Posted By: Johnsonium @ 01/04/2008 5:49:36 PM

Hilary has nothing over Obama. Being first lady isn't "experience". The most important thing to change in this country is the attitude. Hilary wouldn't do that. Obama will. She may have been outside the establishment, but now she's clearly a part of it and shill for the corporate lobby.

      • Posted By: wyl5326 @ 01/04/2008 6:00:15 PM

Hill has no experience except the experience to snatch other people's initiative and claim it as her own ! She even appropriated Barack's slogan of "Fired Up, Ready to Go" on caucus eve ! That is her tract record in therms experience !

        • Posted By: Johnsonium @ 01/04/2008 6:08:26 PM

Maybe we should call her the Microsoft of this campaign, while Obama is the Apple. Think about the PC vs. Mac commercials. Now, if we picked candidates like we do computers, then maybe Hilary would have a chance. Thankfully, we don't.

Sen Clinton will win the Michigan primary, Jan 15th. She is the only person on the ballott. But the delgates from Michigan will not be seated at the convention, because the DNC said they moved up their primary against the DNC's wishes. E very other candidate obeyed the DNC

I happily voted for the new, outsider that promised change for our state - Gov. Deval Patrick. He was going to end cronyism blah, blah, . . .I really fell for it and i wanted our state to have it's 1st African American in that office as well. Now i have regrets, major ones. He has no idea how to work with the legislature. He throws his agenda on them and just expects them to pony up. So nothing is getting done once again. Example: Gov. Patrick has put in his upcoming budget revenue from Casinos that no one has approved yet. He's really pissing people off, clearly is without coalition building skills and just complains about the legislature not doing there job. so we're back to finger pointing and nothing getting done. BEWARE PEOPLE WITHOUT TRACK RECORDS AND EXPERIENCE!

My advice is to not vote for that specific individual again. Go Obama.
