Friday morning Federline's attorneys call a press conference, only to cancel it at the last minute. They also ask for an emergency custody hearing, meeting with a judge in chambers for half an hour, which is expected to resume Friday afternoon. Surely none of this will play well for Spears. She skipped out on a court-ordered deposition on Wednesday, and at another deposition on Thursday she arrived more than an hour late and stayed for only 14 minutes, prompting her lawyers to be asked to be dismissed from the case.

It was less than a year ago—Feb. 16, 2007—when Britney walked into a Los Angeles barbershop and cut off all her hair. It was a cry for help. But when will she get it?

I usually do my darndaest to ignore the travails of the rich, selfish and famous, but it seems to me that in this case it might be a matter of life and death. I feel horrible for her kids. They, as young as they are understand thay things have gon terribly wrong in their lives on some level. As for Britney, if someone doesn't grab her by the nape of her neck and talk to her like a Dutch uncle and make her understand what she ids doing to herself and others, she's a dead woman. Ther are plenty around like her who don't get the publicity and don't have the resources to deal with problems like hers-whatever they are, they are extrememely self-destructive. The best thing that could happen is that she becomes the poster child for people suffering whatever it is she is suffering, saving herself, her kids' psyches and hopefully some people who are not celebrities but find themselves in her predicament.

Dr .Phil thnks his celebrity makes him a therapist for all celebrtiies. He's come close to the edge of irresponsibility before and this one is really bad. BTW, he's a psychologist, not a psychiatrist.
