    prayers for this girl whether she is famous or not. Mental illness is just as bad as cancer. I can attest to this. It happened to me after my second child and I had to have ECT treatment. aka as shock treatment Now I am as good as gold. I wish the media would leave her alone and she would admit that she needs the help!!!

    There IS something wrong with Britney, and it has to do with her choices and her lack of real family support. If her mom was less concerned about her piggy bank roll maybe she would have been more honest and determined to get she truly needed a long time ago. Furthermore, if consistent record sales are an indicator of success, then Justin and Christina have her beat. Maxim- Did you ever think it was people like you who sugar coat the truth that leads others to believe less than the truth?

    This young lady is the laughing stock of our country. A real disgrace to our race. Her 15 minutes are fame are almost over. When her money runs out, nobody will be worrying about taking her picture. She has aged 10 years in the past two years. Nobody gives a crap about her. She is a sad person and is from one screwed up family.

    There is nothing wrong with Britney. She does need a new husband and new family. She is the best and most popular pop singer. she is better than Justin Timberlake and Christina Aguilera. She needs to find a guy who likes her for who she is. She already has everything she needs, she just needs to get rid off bad things in her life and do what she honestly thinks is best for her.     shes taking a slow swin to the deep end instead of just jumping off. Haven't any of you gone off the deep end or know someone that has? Its an unfortunate part of life that hopefully she can come through and get her boys back when shes better.

    Whatever...if her vision is blurred and she can't see straight, then she needs an eye exam, not a mental status evaluation. Britney is her own person and if peer pressure is getting the best of her at the age she is, then shame on her.

    This incident is not an isolated case (72-hour hold). It is the current scenario in the US and the government is not doing anything about it. The Bush administration is more interested in waging wars and not taking care of the US citizens. Britney is only unworthy of being a mother, she is also a bad example to the society!

    I think her behavior goes beyond just looking for attention. She's clearly suffering from a mental illnes; whether it be post-partum or something else. I thin post-partum is a very good possibility - she seemed disturbed before she got pregnant with her youngest son (look back at old stories). If she didn't recover from the first pregnancy I can only imagine how it got worse. Plus, she's living out this nighmare in the public eye. I would challenge anyone to say that they could put their private lives in front of the lense and come out smelling like a rose. We all make choices that are less than stellar - imagine the media tracking every single slip up you've ever had. It's sad for everyone involved.

      All of these things go together .. drinking, partying, bad choices and the inability to interpret what is happening. I think one of the wost things about bipolar disorder is that the person who is suffering from it can justify all that they do and they do not even recognise that their perceptions have been distorted by the illness. Also bipolar disorder and ppd can co-exist, the first can trigger the onset of the other. Unless you or your family has been touched by mental illness I don't think that you can even imagine. It's so much easier to blame her for her choices. Especially when many people hate her because she has money . Some people really enjoy watching people with money or fame suffer. Maybe you cannot see past the reality that money doesn't buy happiness. Most of the time we don't see these kinds of things displayed in public unless it is someone that is a star. I believe that she is suffering. Those of you who wish her dead are no better than your perception of her. I mean really, does that help her or her children?
      The images that I saw on T.V yesterday, with Britany tied down to a bed and of her losing it were truly disturbing. I can only hope that she can get some help and that her children never have to see any of this.

    Sick of her It will end with someone died. Hope it is not the children. She has been offered help time and time. She is all about the attention and nothing else. Don't feel sorry for her any more feel sorry for the children.

    This is a control issue to try to make people who are trying to do the right thing by their children look like they have mental problems, when indeed it is to rally people to one side or another and keep the "system" looking like it isn't the one with the problem here. It is sad, because the law enforcement can do this to anyone, make up anything they want to, and then turn it on the person to make them look as if they are the ones with the problem, when indeed it is their own problem of control.

    People with no issues at all end up targets of the healthcare field who say what they are told to say for their paycheck, and the person with the conscience ends up the victim of the system.

    It is unfortunate, but it is the system that allows the taking of control in this manner, and perfectly well people end up tagged with crap that is not theirs to own.

    I recommend that everyone get a copy of their medical record and review it to be sure it is truthful and accurate, because a system that attempts control in this manner is usually hiding something themselves that they don't want people to know, and laying the blame on their victim.

    The healthcare field is supposed to help their patients, not make them victims of the system. It was designed to help people get back on their feet, not take them off their feet for sake of control. That is a misuse of power and should be illegal.

      I can't believe how many people on here have nothng but disgusting things to say. I am no fan of Britney Spears I wont even let my kids listen to her music. But as a fellow human being I see someone who is suffering. This post is full of people that think they are perfect parents who never make mistakes. The only difference in this case is Britney is chased by paps 24-7. I see many parents everyday holding their kids on their laps as they drive down the road, everyday I see in the news parents being convicted of child abuse or neglect. In this case I see a grown woman whom is suffering and doesnt have the family or friends as a support system. She has "Friends" that are leeches and losers and would get close to her to make a quick buck selling their stories to the tabloids and as for her family give me a break. A mother that was pimping her daughters a young age. She wasnt a mom she was a stage mom, Fame,money and prestige were at the top of her list. Her kids did not have normal childhoods, they werent taught anything then they grow up and have to live as adults. Well you cant be an adult if you dont have the basics to even survive. What I see happening to Britney is a mirror of my sister. She was severely mentally il and because she an adult the court systems turned a blind eye to her. She had children and loved them, but all her motives were in the wrong place and us as parents who arent dealing with a mental illness see them as Horrible parents. My sister had all the support in the world and we still couldnt help her. She committed suicide in December of 2005. I am determined not to see another person end up like that. We all know the media IS notorious for telling half truths, if they told the truth they wouldnt have so many lawsuits for slander against them. They are making money off a sick person and I am appaulled at the Judge, attorneys and court systems for not seeing shes sick and needs help. The only people at this point who are winning are the pathetic attorneys representing both kfed and britney.

    I think when there are so many paparazzi in a location that they are BLOCKING THE MOVEMENT OF AN AMBULANCE, that the media have to take some responsibility for this. What happens when Britney has a heart attack and needs to go to the ER? Are we simply going to film her having a heart attack, and let her die there, because PICTURES OF BRITNEY DYING will fetch such a high price???

    I am so offended by this whole media trail that I don't know what to say. I will not watch those Entertainment Tonight clips anymore because I won't even honor them with a web hit.

    Ya know what would be sorta "neat" to see? I wish they still had public stocks, ya know, where they displayed trash like this in the center of town for people to walk by, laugh at, and humiliate? I doubt that nasty skank reads blogs like this (or anything for that matter, my guess is her IQ is somewhere below average, and she is most likely illiterate) so she barely feels the humiliation she SHOULD feel for being such an ass. It would be fun to see her in the stocks and pillars for a week or even a day so people could humiliate her and let her feel the disgrace she will eventually bring onto those poor boys. Thankfully, they are too young to understand what is going on. Hopefully, Brit will off herself before they have a chance to be damaged by her.

        Suffering? Cracka please... suffering is a child with leukemia who has done no wrong for the pain that he/she is in and the parents who cannot afford the chemotherapy to help. Britney brought everything on herself. She makes 700K/mo, certainly she should be able to afford the "help" she needs if she were truly "suffering." She mocks all authority figures because she thinks she can. I hope this useless bag of *** dies a horrible death writhing in the pain and embarrassment she is sure to bring onto her innocent children.

        Oh and if she were my daughter, she would have died at age 4 because the health insurance companies refused to pay for the treatments she required because the treatments were deemed ???experimental.??? Ya, you're right....maybe I am bitter

      I actually have to agree with you -there is something to be said for public humiliation, but tabloids and blogs like this I think are a modern form of the stocks. It is tragic if she is depressed, bi-polar, or on drugs but don't we all have some cross to bear in life? American society is way to forgiving of jerkiness!! She brought 2 boys into this world and is giving them a really screwed up life. When you have child, you better spend each day doing the best you can for that kid and if you can't , you get help. And if you are not mature enough to know when to seek help, then you should not have children!!!!

    This is a very confused young lady who has everything the world has to offer but true love for who she is and not what she has. She needs our prayers not our critizim, I offer wonder what we would do if we were in her place with all that money and fame and suckups following our every move. I for one pray that the true love of Jesus Christ would enter her heart and life.

    I am very familiar with 5150 holds in CA. A study showed that in one year 80% of 5150's in LA County were due to psychosis caused by substance abuse. Since Ms. Spears is a known substance abuser, it is my guess that this was likely the cause. She may have other problems too. Certainly she is in need of drug rehab and mental health treatment.
