What’s Wrong with Britney?

Julia Roberts is more like 36 or 46 than Britney's 26. Julia Roberts did not start her professional acting career until she finished high school after age 18 whereas Britney began her professional career before her puberty with Mickey Mouse Club. Julia Roberts recently had a meltdown with paparazzi following her near a school that bordered on Britney's umbrella drumming of a car hood. Comparing individuals to others is abusive and not contructive. What kind of mother would Julia Roberts have been at age 26? Who could say she would not have been like Roseanne or Anna Nichole Smith except from a more supportive, high class family?

JSC...you apparently never dealt with a mental illness in your life...its very sad for someone to watch as I have and you as a person can't see it in yourself...its easy to throw stones but unless you ever been involved with or has had it happen to you its quite easy to bash it. I am not against sectioning someone to save them...the rest of us live without them if they do get drastic :( it is for the welfare of the person and their children and anyone else in their path...lets take that woman for texas 5 kids drown because no one addressed it and where is she now? its a sick disease and we as people are quick to say its not happening to me or someone i love and you can't help those who don't want help sad to say sometimes intervention is necessary :)

I hope this sad young lady gets the help she needs. She obviously is in dire need of something to enable her to get her life back on track. It is sad that with the financial resources at her disposal and the legion fo so called "friends" no one has suggested she seek an evaluation for post-partum depression or other mental illnesses, but I guess that is not as glamourous as standing by while she drives under the influence, flashes her privates to the papparazzi and basically makes a fool of herself!

She does need help and I believe that with her seratonin instabilities and all the drinking, drugs and stress have pushed her over the edge. Family additions, DNA, addition personality, I do believe she needs help. Someone needs to tell her that the 1st anti- depressant she takes may not work, she needs to have faith, ASK GOD to put it in his hands, have patience, and get some competent Doctors or a mother who really cares!

There is a good chance that this young woman is suffering from post-partum depression. Her irratic behavior certainly would lend credance to that diagnosis. I just hope that whatever the cause of her recent meltdown - she gets the help she needs so she can be a responsible parent to her two boys. She certainly does not lack for resources to be able to get help - so far all she seems to lack if the motivation to do so!

I think her behavior goes beyond just looking for attention. She's clearly suffering from a mental illnes; whether it be post-partum or something else. I thin post-partum is a very good possibility - she seemed disturbed before she got pregnant with her youngest son (look back at old stories). If she didn't recover from the first pregnancy I can only imagine how it got worse. Plus, she's living out this nighmare in the public eye. I would challenge anyone to say that they could put their private lives in front of the lense and come out smelling like a rose. We all make choices that are less than stellar - imagine the media tracking every single slip up you've ever had. It's sad for everyone involved.

Britney Spears and I share the same home state (although I too now live in CA) and the same lineage. Ms Spears' mother and I hail from the Phillips family in St. Helena Parish, LA. Suicides and mental illness have plaqued this family, in addition to alcoholism, for generations. Absolutely Britney needs help.

I am a drug and alcohol counselor and have seen this behavior many times. I think that her actons are a direct link to addiction and possibly other mental disorders. I would like to iterview Britney for an assessment and treatment program that can help bring her back to the productive person that she once was. I really believe that the press and society pages do her more harm by continuiiing to put her antics in the limelight. Hopefully she will get some help this time around.

Shame on you Robertos for making such a careless and thoughtless comment! Brittany needs help, bottom line. I applaud the police who made the call to take her into the hospital under the 5150. It is giving her a chance. I believe she has been crying for help for quite a long time. Irredgardless of Brittany's wealth and fame and her apparent reckless behavior, she is still a beautiful young woman, who needs help, not criticism. I think it is time we, as the public, start saying, "Leave Brittany Alone!". Let her get well, Pray for her. I believe she has some form of depression and has been self-medicating, ignoring or not understanding why she is feeling the way she is when she has so much to be thankful for. Like millions of people with depression, she is no different. Depression is serious, it can kill and rob people of a full life. Let's hope she can start on her path of healing. It won't be instantaneous and hopefully the public will leave her alone while she takes care of herself.

Kevin Federline, money, fame, drugs, Hollywood, country girl, spoiled rotten and the music industry are all her problems. She needs peace on a secluded island without amenities and spiritual counseling.

all you bleeding hearts...save your concerns for someone worthwhile.....Britney has time and time again put her love of partying and dangerous goodtimes over the safety and welfare of her kids....given all the privileges and resources for her boys to have an outstanding life of purpose....instead she exposes them to a life of drugs, alcohol, irresponsibility, reckless danger.....she has no maternal instints....consider Julia Roberts....wow, what a difference....it's apparent above all she protects and provides for normalicy

I've been thinking the same thing iddy. I think she's suffering from PPD. I had two babies back-to-back like Britney did and ended up throwing my body chemistry so out of whack that I need a pharmaceutical intervention to pick myself up and get my head screwed back on straight. While I have to say that after three years of anti-depressants (I use vitamins and supplements now) I'm not a big fan or proponent of them, I'm not sure my brain chemistry would have self-regulated itself back to normal if I hadn't taken them. They played a benevolent role in my life and I think Brittney needs to be under the care of a good psychiatrist rather than self-medicating herself. There are a lot of studies out their that show how maternal PPD can damage the child if left untreated. Those kids live in a circus on their best day....they need a mom who has her crap together. I hope Britney sees this as a wake-up call and can get herself on some managed, prescribed legal drugs and get well.

What's wrong with Brittany?
She's a spoiled poor little rich girl who seems to think that she is above the law. It's very obvious when she defied court ordered tests, etc. The court needs to sentence her to six to 12 months of mental/ addiction therapy in a court approved facility that WILL NOT let her run the show.
As far as her friends family helping her, she has kicked all of them into the gutter like so much trash because SHE doesnt' WANT help because SHE can do what SHE pleases because SHE is the almightly BRITTANY SPEARS.
She needs to be kept away from her sons before she severely hurts or kills one of both of them.

It's sad that people like this can have children so easily when there are thousand of couples who would love to parent and take care of a child, but have to deal with infertility year after year.
