What’s Wrong with Britney?

I think Victoriarenee needs to spend a little time working in a mental health institute. To not feel sorry for Brittany when it's clear that she is Mentally ill shows lack of empathy and ignorance. Speaking about needing Jesus and yet not having any compassion for her shows you have the bigger problem Victoriarenee, it's called Hypocrisy. bottom line this is a case of a young person with to much money and to much fame at a early age she honestly thinks shes above such things as obeying court orders all that stuff us mere mortals have to deal with ....She is like alot of young folks now they dont want to take responsiblity for there kids ... shes probably not beyond help .. but she will have to be the one that decides she isnt gonna do this

Birthmoms, I think the point is that Britney is out of control. She makes bad decisions regarding her children, her life, and her career. All the time. I'm surprised as anyone that K-Fed is looking like the stable one with better parenting instincts and life skills. Still, Britney will not ask for help until she's hit rock bottom, and that probably means taking away the kids. Just like any divorce, the judge has to make a decision. There's nothing political or patriarchal about the decision - do we go with the Z-list wanna-be tagalong loser Daddy or the downward spiralling, b*tsh*t insane mother? What's in the CHILD's best interest, not what's in "womankind"'s best interest. Take your ideology out of the courtroom; it hurts kids.

I don't feel sorry for Britney at all. People continuosly use her being in the eye of the media as an excuse, With that kind of attention and with the world watching you would think that your screw ups being put on blas would be incentive enought o get your *** right. Britney doesn't need scientology, she needs Jesus. It saddens me that no one cares enough to step in and intervene on Britney's behalf. It also saddens me that people are entertained by her evident cry for help. If there is something pycholigically wrong with Britney then she is not fully responsible for her behavior. However her obvious resistence to adressing her issues and getting the proper help is her fault and I do not pity her. We all face challenges in life. To me, Britney has it easy. She has chosen defeat. How can you sympathize with that. Everyone in Britney's camp deserves a lashing. I do not live the Hollywood lifestyle but I can assure you that nobody has your best interest in mind but yourself. He rmother has obviously lacked guidance and it is sad when you have no foundation because that is when you fall. My heart does go out for Britney's soul because it is lost. Once she discovers truth she will find herself. I am not suggesting she go to Jesus (although that is my personal preference) but that she go to something that gives her an understanding of who she is and where she is going with her life. Britney needs someone in her life to slap the *** out of her ass and get her to wake up. The events leading up to her breakdwon are not characteristic of a sane individual. I don't know if it is drugs or just a behavioral disorder but there is something causing Britney to act this way. Let's pray it is not too late for any life lost is a sad thing. I hope that she wakes up from this. And I hope she does so very soon.

I think that Britney has a psychiatric problem - most probably manic-depression (bi-polar) dissorder. She is at the age where it should be kicking in. She is sick and needs psychiatric help. Many bi-polar individuals try to self medicate themselves with alcohol and drugs. However, there are much better medications that will help her. I just hope she gets the help she needs before it's too late. What a sad thing for her kids and family too.

Oh dear... all the haters and lovers... what to do what to do...*sigh* First, I don't know why this makes the "news"...it's not news worthy. Brittney Spears and her family are low class white trash. As far as the pap's following her every move, it's not that she is a celeb, it's that she begs for it. There are plenty of celebs who never hit the tabloids because they are upstanding citizens who are not showing their whooha at every chance they get (why is that even news worthy... she is a fat, disgusting, cottage cheese thigh bearing skank..who WANTS to see it... YUK!). The best thing that could happen for those 2 kids is that Brit and her entire family die off, the kids become wards of the state or adopted out to normal humans who know how to raise children. Clearly, no one in the Spears clan knows anything about rearing children, yet they keep procreating like rabbits. If only you could spay and neuter humans... there should be an IQ level requirement to be able to procreate, and clearly the Spears clan falls drastically below that level. Brittney begs for attention... everything she does she does in public...so the paps can catch it on film... I mean seriously, if she wanted to shave her head, did she really have to be in a public place to do it? No. She did it in public because she wanted to go for the shock factor. Now she wants to boo hoo because the won't leave her alone... cracka please...if it weren't for the paps following her and recording every retarded thing she does, she would lose her "star" (and I use that word loosely) status and drift off into oblivian, where skanks like her belong. She knows at least this much, which is why she perpetuates her bizarre behavior. She hungers for attention and bad attention is better than no attention. They continue to reinforce her behavior by "rewarding" it with publicity. I am sure she skipped the developmental stage represented by adolescence, due to her career explosion. I view most, if not all, behavior as the delayed adolescence. She is behind by about seven years. She is acting out like crazy, and will be lucky to survive it. I am praying for her.

As a mother, I have always questioned whether or not Britney Spears has been dealing with depression and post-partum issues. Motherhood is enough of a major transition without having to deal with it back-to-back - not to mention going through a divorce, and dealing with being one of the most high-profile people in the world. Many people don't understand the difficulty one has in recognizing when one has an issue with depression and/or anxiety - not to mention the stigma attached to it - even with the prevalence of prescription treatments for mental illness today. It would appear that she has been "self-medicating" and that her estrangement from her family has resulting in a loss of strength not only to recognize but also to deal with her problems - and that because of that estrangement and its resulting impact, she has been left vulnerable to people who have abused her for their own purposes, which I think is sick. Hopefully, she will get the help she needs. My heart really goes out to her.

A MESSAGE TO KEVIN: I applaud you to this point...you have the kids with you....but please find it in your heart from this point on...to not keep dragging her to court at this point and just press for her to get medical attention...I do not think it is your intention to keep pressing and making her feel worse --and eventually commit suicide!!! Understand everyone in her life has used her for her money...Hope you are different and a positive in her life now! she will thank you!! My prayers to you and BRITNEY!!

People need to stop blaming the parents last time I checked Britney was in her mid 20's. Well out of the need for supervision of parents/adults. Everything that she does to herself is just that. Its done to herself, by herself with no remorse. Do any of you really think that she cares what she has done to everyone around her? Seriously doubt it. I do hope though that she can snap out of it and realize that she did give life to 2 boys that are gonna forever know how messed up she has acted and hopefully recover and be the mom that she is meant to be. And if not do children really need that kind of influence? I am a single mother of 2, had my oldest of 16 without "parents" making my decisions for me. And I would not change any of my decisions, though maybe not happy with some that's just life. Britney has changed since after her innocent days of cuteness and that time was probably the time when her mother was more involved in it! I believe the only one to blame for her on spiral to the bottom is herself and her thinking that no one can control her. As far as her sister being young, I seriously doubt the mother was there forcing her to have sex so she could get pregnant. She may have not been old enough to know exact consequences, but when sex and hormones at a young age who's to stop them. I know I've been there and I know no one was forcing me to do it, I did what I felt was good. I think everyone has had those urges whether they were teenagers or young adults. Thing is Britney is an ADULT with NO remorse of her actions.

Oh give me a break, she has been pulling this stuff for years and only getting worse, blaming adult behavior on childhood experiences is one thing but letting it take over and rule you is a different thing. Britney will never grow up and act like an adult as long as she is allowed to break the rules that all the rest of us have to follow. The real losers are the poor kids who had no choice in the fact that they had spoiled brats for parents. The only solution is to restrict her from the kids, she is a real danger to them, the father seems to have started the growing up process and is taking some responsiblity. Celebrity status should not allow people to be beyond the law and of common sense. Until Britney suffers some REAL action against her she will continue to act the way she does, jail time does a lot of good to these so called stars, real jail time not 4 hours. Yes she needs help but until she is willing to deal with her issues the rest does not mater as she will continue to act like the Brat she is. It kills me they work so hard to be famous and love the money it brings them but them hate the life that goes with it and no privacy, you cannot in her case have it both ways, either you spiral out of control and die or you straighten up and act like the adult you should be. Excuses are only masks, act like an adult and until you can, she should not be allowed around those kids. Tough love...yeah...but the kids lives are at stake and some action needs to be taken on their behalf and let Brit continue down her path of self destruction, after all she is s Star and they are above the rest of us. She deserves a chance, but there is alimit and if she does not take this opportunity to straighten up, she is toast and will die.

I believe that Britney needs time to heal. She has been told "Yes" all of her life and everyone has told her "how great she is". She does not know where her role as "superstar" and "real" life begins and ends. I blame her mother and father for not standing up and saying, we will mold our daughters into what they will become. They let people manage their childrens lifes and stood back and recieved the money. I believe they see their daughters as "Piggy Banks". Who in the hell would let a 16 yr old live with a 19 yr old. That's a big decision and no 16 yr is ready for that type of relationship. Kevin: If you are reading this, please take control of the situation and back everyone off of Britney. This woman (no matter how gone she is) is the mother of your 2 little boyz. Help her get her life back....she needs someone that is strong and you can help her. I would hate to see this girl out forever.....she is human and someone needs to back off the press as well. Britney is going to hurt herself or someone else. She is a human being first before anything else.

The bottom line is that Brit needs professional help, not tomorrow, not yesterday, but right this very minute. The safety and well being of those two very young minors has to be taken seriously. Those boys have been lucky so far that they have not been harmed in some way. But sometimes the mental harm can be worse than the physical. Brit is most likely suffering from some sort of manic state, mental illness or substance abuse issue.

I think it's sad that many people do not recognize that a mental condition is not a product of choice - that one can be very deeply depressed or otherwise mentally compromised, and try to "self-medicate", which, it would appear, Britney Spears is trying to do. In addition, she has eschewed the support of her family in favor of creepy hangers-on who bow to the insanity of her whims and impulses, rather than assist her in getting the help she obviously needs - and all for their own personal gain. I am a mother of two who has dealt with depression and anxiety most of my adult life and post-partum issues with both of my children - and I lead a normal, low-key life. It's difficult, when you don't think you have a problem, to be persuaded to seek help. It is equally as difficult, I would say, to persuade someone who has a mental problem to seek help. I do not agree with all of her behavior - she is obviously a rather selfish, immaure and, for lack of a better word, stupid young woman - but the circumstances of her childhood, and her life in general, are certainly not what anyone would call normal. It would be nice if people in this country would see the sadness of her current plight. It is really sad - if the police and hospital personnel deem it necessary to keep her involuntarily for at least 72 hours, then she must have a real problem - and she needs help.
