the real problem lies with the fact that these insurgents know we have to be concerned with civilian casualties, or they complain that we are killing the innocent victims that they hide behind, the way i see it war means innocent people are going to die, unfortunately thats the bad part of war. but are we going to forget when osama and all of his coward scuslim jihadist's [oops i mean muslim] decided to start this war it was innocent lives they took not the lives of military personnel or corrupted officials,so all in all we should be dropping bombs on those tribal areas and not worry about the unfortunate few who know that they are in fact in the company of men and women who routinely promote violence and choose to simply not walk away. in the united states and everywhere else in the civil world which leodelaney and the rest of his jihadist buddies do not live in,a man is guilty of a crime if he is simply in the same crowd with someone who is commiting a crime,so leodelaney while you are in the act of commiting treason which is still punishable by being hanged by the neck till you are dead, you are obviously on american soil that is protected by that very military you despise,if you spoke up in one of those other mid east countries that your so in love with there government would hunt you down and kill you and your whole family for that dis-loyal propaganda you speak. so i say you should run on over to pakistan or iraq or where ever you want and strap up your dynamite vest and run into some store or market place and blow yourself and say fifteen or twenty of your family members to smithereens.people like you who only criticize and not support what the men and women of the greatest military on the face of this planet do for you should move to the middle east where you will be safe and in the company of your own kind.or maybe america can be protected by your internet security program yeah that might protect our planes from flying into big buildings and killing innocent people from dying by the thousands f u c k y o u

If there were three people outside today, a native to this area, an eskimo, and a person who lives in the tropics they would each have a different truth. To the first it would be It sure is cold. To the eskimo, it's not so bad at all and to the tropical inhabitant "It is purely FREEZING" Truth is relevant to where you are and who you are. I saw this bumper sticker "When the power of love conquers the love of power, then we may have world peace. A Pakistani youngster growing up would surely have a different truth than an American youth. We need to have wisdom and the name calling and surety of "rightness" by the commentators shows how truths grow to violence all over the World. A soldier from the United States has a different truth than a woman trying to teach in a Taliban society or an older person trying to eek out a living in Kenya. We have rights and privileges but Americans are often confused to what the difference or similarity is. We are spoiled and want our oil at any cost. God forbid I can't drive my SUV. Our legislators only react to what they feel we want to hear so we need to be verbal about what is important to us but for crying out loud show some sense.

It is far more likely that the CIA rather than Baitullah Mehsud killed Bhutto because she was getting too close to the major storge place of Saddam Hussein's colllection of WMD's and that had to be prevented. After all, it was this same CIA and its wonderful investigative abilities that assured us that Saddam had all these WMD's and in the words of Colin Powell, living lapdog, "We know eactly where they are." This is still as true as ever and they had to silence Bhutto before she got too close. That fantasy makes just as much sense as saying Baitullah Mehsud, who, in his fight with Musharref, had nothing to gain from her death, was responsible for the killing. And to a tryranical, murderous dictator like Musharraf who had much to gain from her death as the major political threat to his regime was removed, her loss was merely a collatteral benefit. Ain't it great to have a guy like Osama bin Laden or Baitullah Mehsud that you can blame for everything that happens in the world from nuclear war to jaywalking and there is no way anyone can ever prove he didn't do it. There are dozens of groups, including the American CIA, who would have benefited from Bhutto's death, but we have arbitrarily decided and in the total absence of any evidence that it was Baitullah Mehsud. At any rate all the stockpiles of WMD are still safe and secure. And the American public can still not their head in ovine acknowledgement that the politically created bad guys have accomplished something evil once again.

You are so delusionial. I mean you are way out there!! It's easy to tell your one of the "I hate America"...and "Blame America First" crowd. What kind of drugs are you using?

It's obvious whats going on in the world today is a basic good vs evil......and you have allowed drugs to fry your brain to the point of making the good the evil.

If I were you, and I really felt the way you say you do in your post, I'd move to another country. I feel certain Osama would like having you stay at his house.

Perhaps if you actually lived in one of these Islamic countries that you proclaim as the good guys, you might be able to see the truth. But your opinions coming from your fat azz sitting in your recliner really don't count for chit!

The simple fact that leodelaney cannot find any differences between Bush and the US military versus radical Islamist terrorists just shows the depth of his ignorance. I, and most other level-headed people, have never wished to "[killi] everyone in sight on the other side." Rather, instead of killing women, children and anyone who does not agree with us--such as the murderous tatics that these tribesmen use--we want only to kill the radical Islamist militants who are set on killing everyone else who disagrees with them. In short, there is no comparison. And anyone who says that there is must have another agenda or affliction...such as "Bush Derangement Syndrome."

    • Posted By: leodelaney @ 01/18/2008 1:03:24 PM

JL Hunter - Dead is dead and it doesn't matter who killed you, nor does it matter who's side God is on. We as the noble protectors of human rights have now adopted a tactic of dropping 500 pound bombs on neighborhoods where we believe those who oppose us are staying. Never mind that there are innocent men, women and children there by the thousands; we give them warning and if they don't leave their homes and run, then its their fault they're dead. How in God's name is that any less a terrorist tactic than a fanatic with a bomb blowing himself up and a bunch of innocent people in the process? It is exactly the same, and anyone who fools himself into believing differently is merely being delusional. I wish I had your ability to think that because the only people I want to kill is "radical Islamis militants" that I am absolved from all the other deaths. I remember the words of another leader who washed his hands of the "blood of this man". Death by militant bomb is murder; death by air dropped bomb is murder, death by militant rifle is murder, death by military rifle is murder and in murder there is no difference and no salvation by hypocritical statements about "but we only want..." The war in Iraq is immoral, unnecessary, wanton, evil and was on the day the decision was made to embark on it. Everything that flows from an immoral and evil act is itself immoral and evil and their is no honor of any kind to be found in this war. No honor in serving there on either side, no honor in being maimed there, no honor in dying there and no honor to any nation which participates in the farce. And you are absolutely right; I find no difference in Bush and the US Military and those radical Islamist who are fighting for their faith, to free their nation from an invader and to damage a nation they have been trained to hate. Remember when you piously call for the death of all Muslims that they are not a real threat to us, like Japan or Nazi Germany or the USSR, but merely a politically expedient enemy for our leaders to exploit to spread hatred and fear, yet we overthrow their governments, kill their citizens, destroy their cities and mock their religion and sit back and wonder why the get testy.

  • Posted By: Abdullah the Butcher @ 01/07/2008 1:59:59 PM

i echo rangerone's comments. The threat from the middle east is the nuke abled, politically unstable Pakistan. Why worry that the government would have to be overthrown. Musharef's policies suggest he's not our ally and he's up to the highest bidder. They've got their hooks in already. Proactivity and common sense would prevail if only applied by someone or a government with power and cahones. We've got both, but the lame duck situation in the White House makes this upcoming election a cross road like this country has never faced. The threat is real, no cost is too high to insure our freedoms and democracy. We have to stop waivering on every issue, fight a war against a ruthless enemy the way they fight us and throw conventional wisdom out the window. Clinton could have taken care of Bin Laden years ago but was too weary of collateral damage to our Saudi "friends". They aren't our friends, they too can be bought and have been time and time again. Sack up America, the time is now.

Abdullah. It is way too late for any violence by the West to suceed. The Islamic Republic is the wave of the future and Iran, Iraq, Syria, Pakistan, Malaysia and many African nations will soon all be Islamic Republics. And they will be united in their hatred of us because we, in our blindness could not see them coming, and did everything in our power to overthrow their governments, murder their people, destroy their cities and force our perverted brand of "Democracy" upon them. When we should have been seking some form of accomodation and cooperation with them we wasted billions trying to destroy them, a task that never could and never will be possible. And we still waste trillions in futile military adventurism, deluding ourselves that our military power will prevail when it fact it is all but worthless against their coming. Ah well, so many other great nations have fallen freom the same blunders as we are now making in our strategy for dealing with Islamic Republics that it will come as no surprise when we go the same way.

Does anybody get this? Islamic Jihadists have been killing people since long before Bush. The USS Cole was a victim. So was that poor old man who got thrown over board from the Achille Lauro cruise ship. Those Marines in Somalia. The 1993 attack on the World Trade Center. How about the millions of women in Afghanistan who were yanked from their jobs and their lives to be covered in burqas and not allowed to see a male doctor. How many died? These people don't know what love is. They preach only hatred for
anybody who does not believe in their twisted interpretation of Islam. That includes Christians, Jews, Buddhists, Hindus and more moderate Muslims. If we leave the middle east, they will swarm like the cockroaches they are. Fortunately, when you shine a bright enough light on them and expose them for what they really are, they run back to the rocks they crawled out from under. Just like the cockroaches they are.

    • Posted By: hmmm5 @ 01/15/2008 11:57:44 PM

Calling people cockroaches is not gonna help us out . We have to understand their motives. People are not just crazy to die and fight the only Superpower in the world. If it was all about killing infidels these terrorists would have chosen Canada any day of the week over America. I know people like you live in a delusional world of your own and believe that USA is a saint. Get some reality check and see what has the USA done. Their support for the brutal Zionist regime in Israel is one of the main causes of terrorist attacks on US interests.theUSA

I don't think your listening to our Democrats in this country. They know what's best. And the priority now has to be finding out who destroyed these CIA tapes to protect CIA operatives indenties. The terrorist will all like us once Bush is gone. Everything is Bush's fault. You've got to pay attention to Reed and Pelosi....and our media to understand.

Actually I am just feeling a bit sarcastic today. I think it's time for a reality check, when one of the "rising stars" is a prisoner we released from Cuba! And just listen to Democrats in congress......they want them all released. Makes me want to puke!

The U.S. and Condolezza Rice should be lobbying Pakistan to conduct a Nuclear test in the Al-Qaida/Talaban areas in N.W. Pakistan. This would literally kill 2 birds with one stone, (get rid of a substantial nest of cockroaches and deplete Pakistans Nuclear stockpile).
LET'S HEAR IT FOR NUCLEAR TESTING!!

Time has finally come for Pakistan???s disintegration as the judicial downfall in the country has exposed the reality of Pakistan???s artificial existence through funding by American intelligence agencies in order to keep physical control of the region to fulfil their own evil designs. It was due to this reason that democracy in Pakistan has always miserably failed. Under such circumstances, it is important to note that Pakistan???s military dictatorship which is basically Punjab???s military dictatorship is not ready to leave power or organize free and fair elections. It is to be understood that Punjab???s military dictatorship shall not allow genuine democratic forces to takeover the country and thus are engaged in activities of Fascism in order to make sure that their rule remains intact indefinitely. This is certain that military dictatorship is not ready or willing to give up. Of course they would never agree to allow the democratic forces of the country to become rulers of Pakistan. It is nothing but a dream to think about restoration of genuine democracy in Pakistan.
It is necessary that political leaders of NWFP, Balochistan, Sindh and Karachi should get up and decide disintegration of Pakistan under the supervision of the United Nations. In my opinion, following new countries should be formed immediately:
    REPUBLIC OF PAKHTOONISTAN
    REPUBLIC OF BALOCHISTAN
    PEOPLES??? REPUBLIC OF SINDHUDESH
    REPUBLIC OF JINNAHPUR
All Nationalist leaders should lead this program and facilitate formation of a pressure group called MOVEMENT TO DIVIDE PAKISTAN (MDP). The pressure group should meet the Secretary General of the United Nations and most influential American senators along with members of the European Union Parliament. The basic objective of this pressure group should be to ensure that Pakistan is divided peacefully under the supervision of the United Nations and EU so as to provide freedom to the people living in NWFP, Balochistan, Sindh and Karachi. Freedom from Punjab???s brutal military dictatorship will allow these new countries to prosper and provide best standard of living to their people.

Anyone who wishes to divide Pakistan should be killed. You are a racist scumbag who can't think beyond the ethnicity of people of Pakistan. We the true Pakistanis don't care about the different ethnicity of our brothers and sisters. We LOVE PAKISTAN. You are a traitor and I will personally butcher you.

      Mir Jamaluddin
I love Pakistan. People of NWFP, Karachi, Sindh, Balochistan and Punjab have great love for Pakistan. It is not a Punjabi who was in power when Mr. Liaqat Ali Khan was killed. Mr. Jamaluddin, It was Mr. Ziaul Haq +(A mohajir) who killed Zulifqar Ali Bhutto. It is not a Punjabi i.e. Mir.Musharraf (also a mohajir) during which government Benazir Bhutto has been killed. Against it is not punjabi. Although I onlly believe in a united Pakistani nation but only for your kind information I mentioned above. I believe that Pakistan was came into being for long life till the day of judgement inshallah and the enemy of Pakistan will not success to break it. May God help us to get out of recent crises created by our enemies. May God help us to distinguish our real enemy and May God help us to stop blaming each other.

We'd all be better off to terminally devolve ALL internal " powers that think they be type forces " such that Paki is forced to actually become a part of India.

Once these new countries are formed, they can form a coalition to put pressure on Punjabistan in order to destroy Weapons of Mass Destruction (WMD). It would be very essential to dismantle nuclear weapons of Punjabistan as soon as possible so as to keep the balance of power in the region very stable. Republic of Balochistan and Peoples??? Republic of Sindhudesh should then allow USA to install their proper army bases on their lands and allow American army to keep their ground forces in the region for a longer period until Weapons of Mass Destruction (WMD) belonging to Punjabistan are fully destroyed. This will also eliminate terrorism network which is being nourished under the safe umbrella of Punjab???s military dictatorship and its evil organization called Inter-Services Intelligence (ISI).

Gen Musharraf's hands are tainted with Benazir's blood. When Mush was attacked in Rawalpindi, the bridge a part of which was also blown, was closed to traffic for more than 4 days. The whole area was cordoned off for forensic evidence gathering. Similarly when there was bomb explosion opposite US consulate in Karachi, trhe whole area was secured and closed for over 40 days. On 27 Dec when Benazir was assasinated the Govt Interior Ministry spokesman changed the version thrice within 24 hours. The area where Benazir was assasinated alongwith 20 other persons was washed off all traces of forensic evidence within hours of the occurence. The junta has sophisticated gadget to track and eavesdrop all its moderate political elements, who are being harrased and put behind bars, while terrorists and extremists are free to kill. The brutal cycle of violence has crippled civil society. Musharraf is responsible, since he has throttled political activity and democratic institutions during his 8 years of misrule. He has no tolerance for dissent and ordered the brutal killing of a 80 year Baloch tribal sardar Akbar Bughti, who was always a pro establishment men, having served as Governor baluchistan and Defence minister of Pakistan. Violence breeds violence and Pakistan suffers because of the arrogance of a tinpot dictator.

You have rightly and properly analyse the regime achivements for last 8 years whole and sole rule
The all and all is Pakistani Mechile G.B and will remained in power till to split Pakistan
He is dead person as for last one year he is totally under pressure and exercised such attempts which were subsequently with draw
These are defeat for the ruler but he is still clinch with power amazing
Dead people are ruled by dead ruler and nothing else
All know that for last 8 years he make the country worse but nothing wrong with them
The existing pressure on them is due to the foreign countries not from Pakistan

I assure that if he split Pakistan and no international pressure then he will remained in power

The United Nation's refugee agency has urged Papua New Guinea to resettle 100 refugees from the Indonesian province of Papua, now living in the country. Police in the capital, Port Moresby, have threatened to evict over 100 refugees, who have been living at the Boroko police station since October. They were moved to the police station because of fears of retaliation after two of the refugees allegedly killed a senior magistrate.

The UN High Commissioner for Refugees spokeswoman in Australia says the PNG government should take responsibility in resettling them.

''We appreciate the temporary accommodation provided by the police," she says

"But we also recognise that this is not a long term solution. And we urge the government of Papua New Guinea to find a clear solution and we stand ready to assist.".

PNG hosts a total of nearly 3,000 refugees from Papua.

Since it's the U.S. who built Al-Queda, as well as keeping the dictator in power in Pakistan, it's likely they're behind the assasination too. Keep in mind that the extremely wealthy people profiting from all of this controlled "chaos" are not the people in harm's way, they can sacrifice any number of "lesser" lives like ours to keep up the fake war going because it makes them a little wealthier every day. Why would the U.S. government want democracy for Pakistan when they don't even have democracy in the U.S.?

  • Posted By: Joybuzzard @ 01/08/2008 12:54:59 PM

The U.S. built Al-Queda and continues keeping the dictator in power in Pakistan, no doubt they're behind the assasination. Keep in mind, the people with the big money who profit from all of this carefully controlled "chaos" are not the ones in danger, it's not them and their children getting bombed, human life means nothing to them and it's worth any number of "lesser" lives to keep this very profitable conflict going.

I do not get it! Musharaf is playing the both sides; he is responsible for all the violence in Pakistan including the assassination of Binazir Bhutto.
Most of corrupt regimes are custom of violating their own people, and ask the west for financial help in the name of ???counter terrorism". I strongly believe those leaders with no exception are the real terrorist. US should review its relations with them. Perhaps the best counter terrorism, is assisting people to exercise free elections around the world, and not helping dictators.

It's time for all the non-muslim nations to gather all our war wagons and surround the middle east. Why prolong the enevitable. Waiting only allows our advisaries to get stronger and prehaps a few nukes. So, if we do it now less people will die and prehaps no nukes will get involved. Let's get fighting and end this mess while we got a good chance of managing it, and comming out a winner.
