I lost friends by arguing against the Republican lynch mob out to impeach President Clinton. After 7 years of Bush I know that his victory was eased by Clintons irresponsibility opening the door for the GODSQUAD. Ironically Bush's disasters, his damage to everything good in this country, and his cynicism are closing the door on a Clinton third term. CLINTON GO HOME!

I don't think he has the qualifications to be president. He lacks experience and expertise. Most of the comments here talk about how inspiring, nice, warm and hopeful he is. The shape of my country worries me. It's a very scary time for the USA. Thanks Mr. Bush..

What qualifies Senator Obama to be President of the United States of America? Please expand on his private sector expierence, his expertise in business, budgeting, hiring and firing.

You really have to see him in person to experience his charisma and know that he can make a difference. Does any president have all of the knowledge they need when they syart or do they place key people in positions of power to their team. His ability to bring the nation together no mater what party the have previously supported really does say it all. Doens't our nation and our world need to be united or at least on speaking terms once again? I for one believe he is the one to do it. Open your minds and realise there is more to being president than having experience. Some of our first time teachers are the very best there is because they truly belive they can make a diffeerence and therefore it happens, as they never for one second doubted their abilities. This is the very quality I saw in Mr Obama after hearing him speak. I welcome his innocence and hopefullness to be better. we could all learn a thing or two from his refusing to go negative.

I'm voting for whoever is running against the Republican candidate.

Wow, starving actor...you need some calories...the brain is clearly energy deprived. I am a conservative but wow....no reason to go to that extreme.

The comment from HERA below is the comment from an absolute fool.... Obama is a MUSLIM ! He is not a Christian man he is a MUSLIM and they are sworn by their beliefs to kill all infidels... Well guess what HERA you fool.. you are an infidel and a moron... There is no way I would vote for this man. I would however considering the democratic choices have to vote Republican this year.

It is stupid people like you that elected George W. Bush. Find some intellegence, would you? You sound like an immature high school girl.

    • Posted By: kimmygirl @ 01/06/2008 1:03:36 PM

Are you serious about you Muslim comment. Please please please before you write things, research the facts. I need not comment on anything else about this. In addition, even if he was Muslim as you put it, know about the religion before you write false statements. your hole comment is incorrect and false and I wish that you would do better research because this does not make you look politically sound

Perhaps you do not understand the difference between voting in a primary and the general election. As to your other comments, I will leave that for others to reply.

I won't bother to respond to the hateful and ignorant comments by many of the illiterate posters here. But what does gall me is the falsity of the experience/change dichotomy. Obama's experience as a community organizer on Chicago's south side, his experience in the state house, and now the Senate, are equal to HRC's, and rival our current president's resume. The Democratic candidates' platforms are largely indistinguishalbe, but Obama's electibility is key.

Great article about a great persn and his wife. His books are amazing, too. The guy sure has a vision and knows how to go about getting things done.

    Obama '08!

This is the most glaring example of the media's love for Obama. It's not the time when the country's contemplating the possibility of his running: he is already running and he's got momentum and stories like this are propping him up without speaking to policy or previous experience in garnering success according to his agenda. And readers won't know about that stuff if you don't tell them. This is not a news article; this is romanticizing support that is performative of American's preference for beautiful speeches and personality as political priorities that supersede performance. A news article would point out this preference without qualifying it as good or bad. This is just performing the behavior. Novice . . .

This is one of those rare moments in history a country has a leader who has the right mix of competence, humility, empathy, and integrity! America our moment is now!

Obama is hardly naive--and he has a second sharp and clear-sighted asset in his wife, one of the most dynamic and insightful speakers that I have seen. A remarkable team. Go BHO!
Great Obama theme song: "Pennsylvania Avenue". Captures the spirit of what he's trying to do:
