I view the trashing by others of Romney a sense of desperation on their part. They could not focus on issues but rather gang up on him like cowards do when they know they are no match on their own. Giuliani also had some good points last night and showed better than recent. Although, despite the firing squad targeting Romney, I think he showed that he can take the heat and stad up for himself, which is what this country needs. Huckabee seems like another GW Bush to me. Perhaps a nice guy but not the smartest. McCain, a good American, but not presidential and quite frankly what has he done all his years in congress? His own State had a large contingent to recall his last election win since he is too liberal. Its time for someone new, which really only leaves Guiliani and Romney. Romney's record of success seems to make the most sense to me, and the flip-flop argument seems somewhat weak when you look at his prior promises as governor and what he executed on.

I've heard all the candidates including Ron Paul who is different from all the rest. However, I am still of the opinion that if either a Republican or Democrat wins the White House, it's time to leave the country. That's right, immigrate to somewhere else. The two major parties support the status quo, the "Establishment", and nothing important will change.

While I won't be leaving the country....well said. We are in dire need of a third party to shift the balance of power and absolve the sense of entitlement that our two parties believe in today.

Romney-man has more money than brains-hope the voters don't sell out to the big money man.

It appears as if we now have "The Washington Mob" in action, ganging against one, does not sound fair to me, it does look a little Sicilian modus operandii or from "The Street Gangs" infiltrated all over the Country. Is THAT the future of our Country? Where is dicency, sportmanship, respect HONESTY in all these political debates? where is the FOCUS on ISSUES and how each will face them as oppossed to fault finding like kinder-gardeners? Grow-up gentlemen you are running for President of the most Powerful and Influential Country in the History of this world and not for President of your "Hood's" gang.

I have to agree with Newsweek on this one. Romney was certainly under attack. But it's HIGHLY hypocritical for a candidate to ask his opponents to stay away from "personal attacks" after he's attacked them through ads and mailings. Mr. Romney, you had this coming. It was really good that viewers got to see you for who--and what--your are.

Living in the so called Bible Belt, I ahev attended a few Baptist services. Two things stood out that I have to question. first: Baptist Preachers ALL seem to be trained in the art of manipulating words to insinuate things. They are trained in inserting humor. One prominate Baptist once told me that he was a bout to quit his church because it wasn't entertaining enough. I though that is where you are supposed to go to learn not be entertained. This same person also told me that church is big business and that Catholics and Mormons are a threat and cut into their membership base. Ergo; the animosity, half truths and inuendos about these religions. Mr Huksterbee is no different. I am told tht all the Baptist Churches got together to get their membership out in Iowa, even to providing Baptist Church Owned Busses to get people to the caucuses. They ar doin the same in NH. Romneys adds are only "attacks" if they are guilty of things that they don;t like being called to the attention of the public. The snide remarks made by Hukcsterbee and McCain were uncalled for. They made asses of themselves and a lot of people I have talked with today lsot respect for them both. My position on Huchsterbee is that he is shallow and has a bad temper. As govenor, he was invstigated by specially appointed ethics committees and sanctioned over 160 times for ethics viloations. We do not need another Bill Clinton in sheeps clothing sitting in the White House. The guy is a phony and a loser. McCAin is too old and is not going to change one damned thing. Behind the scenes, at a White House Cristmas party many years ago, I asked Ronald Reagan why he had not been able to make some of the changes he promised. He told me point blank - "Mighty Powerful People Run This Country, Mighty powerful" and left it at that. Good luck on anyone making change. Too bad we can't fire the whole dman bunch and start over. I have a letter on my desk from Senator Hatch. It says that the tax gap (the difference between money collected and taxes that are not beig repoerted is over $310 Billion. The tax gap dwarfs the amount of waste that includes frauds and enttilement programs. When are we going to kick the IRS ass and make them do their job or fire them. I tried to tell them about a 5 Billion dollar tax fraud and they won't even call me back. they woul rathe chase a retiree for a couple of thousand and ruin their lives.

Mit Romney cleaned up the Olympics and has proven taht he can get the job done. It won;t be easy for anyone to change Washington, but he has the best credentials to lay a good clean shot accross the bow.

Romney's ads were not personal attacks. There was a difference between his attack/contrast ads versus the personal negative attacks he was getting the entire night from McCain and Huckabee. I lost a lot of respect for McCain.

I cannot see why these two are dualing over an issue that is at a stand still. There is no correct answer to either candiadtes claim. They really should put more debate on how our country is going to get out of this endless war and how can out country help the citizens with the cost of medical care. That is why I think that the Democrats will sweep the elections.

Let themm dual it out. The country is deciding on the Democrats to sweep the elections.

Ron Paul isn't allowed in the Fox News debate. Doesn't sound like a real Republican debate to me.

Why does every comment here not mention Congressman Ron Paul? He did NOT go on the attach of Mitt Romney like the others. He is not spouting the same rhetoric we have heard from every other presidential election. His view perhaps represents the MOST change out of all of them. His whole platform is based on the U.S. Constitution and the difference between right and wrong. He is a gentleman and truly cares about our country and protecting our civil liberties and keeping our noses out of everybody else's business. I hope and pray that America will give Dr. Paul the time of day and truly listen to his views.

I was very disappointed in the debates last night. It was embarrassing that the GOP couldn???t be civil to Mitt Romney. They are so scared and threatened by him, that they all make unnecessarily attacks. That was uncalled for.

My respect for Mitt Romney just went up a great deal. He didn???t engage in the slime. The other candidates looked very unpresidential. I was a John McCain supporter until last night.

Romney is by far the best man to lead this nation. The millions of dollars spent each year by those trying to ditch the religion of Mitt Romney has obviously gone to waist. When are you going to get your facts right? 12 level of heaven? Tablets from a top hat? Sorry my friend, you need to do a little bit more research. It doesn't matter what the religion is of one person. Look at his track record. We need a leader and a person of change. I am an American and I work out of the country. The US used to be looked at as an example and a power house. We are now looked upon as a country that is failing and how they are learning from our mistakes. There are many countries that are more advanced than we are but yet we are selling them the technology. How ironic? Mitt Romney can take our country to the next level by getting us out of debt, by lowering taxes, improving the immigration problem and making the country that powerhouse and example once again.

At this juncture, Mitt's got the most delegates, so I guess it makes sense he got it on all sides....The problem is peole love to hate Mitt. He's too everything, but I've seen his leadership and read his Wall Street Journal articles and he really would help this country. Too bad he'll never gert the change....Obama '08 and the GOP is dead...

America wants change. They only people that can truly bring about change in Federal Government are Obama, Edwards, and Romney. I think Edwards isn't mainstream enough on his positions. Obama is good and Romney is good. I think the only way the republicans will have a chance is to nominate Romney. I'd love to see a Obama vs. Romney debate. It would really be exciting...the first black and first Mormon nominee.

I lost my respect for Huckabee when I learned of his liberal positions as Gov. and after he very politically bashed Romney's Mormon religion. That is just not presidential.
In regards to the debate...I lost respect for McCain. His personal attacks on Romney were childish and very rude. I just hope the NH voters can see that. I hope it doesn't turn out to be an Iowa again. Iowa exit polls showed Romney as the most electable republican against a democrat but they decide to vote for Huckabee...a guy that have no chance against a democrat in the general election but he happens to attend the same church as them. Iowa voters who voted for Huckabee but then said Romney was the most electable aren't the brightest crayon in the box.

The former Arkansas governor earned his Huckster nickname as well as a great YouTube moment of shame when he challenged Romney's support of the troop surge during ABC's New Hampshire debate.

He attacked Romney with this boldfaced lie: "I supported the surge and you didn't.

The YouTube clip shows exactly how dishonest Huckabee is. Two weeks after Romney had issued a January 2007 press release supporting the surge; the Huckster did an interview deliberately setting himself apart from other candidates by withholding support for the surge.

In the Jan. 24, 2007 interview on MSNBC's "Live," Norah O'Donnell asks:

"We have a Rudy Giuliani, who supports the president's plan on Iraq. We have Governor Mitt Romney, who also supports a troop surge. How are you different from any of those candidates?"

Huckabee: "Well, I'm not sure that I support the troop surge, if that surge has to come from our Guard and Reserve troops, which have really been overly stretched."
