Oh spare me, HRC. So it doesn't work that you claim 35 years of "experience" which is neither documented nor explained. It doesn't work that you characterize Obama as a green, naive little boy who talks pretty. It doesn't work that you bring your oh-so-revered husband on the trail with you after getting perturbed that everyone kept comparing you to him (remember that "Well I'm not Bill Clinton" remark?). And for heaven's sake it DOESN'T WORK that once you realize you've used up your entire failed arsenal, you're going to try to force us into pitying/liking you by CRYING. This is so contrived, so fake, so unbelievably transparent that I hope you fire whoever thought of it. So many things have been said by your team that were "unauthorized" or "without your consent", then they bow out. Everyone knows this is your grab at negative media attention for Obama without having to take any of the heat. They are the martyrs for the Clinton camp, doing your dirty work while you attempt to apear like you are staying out of the mud. And yes, Obama spoke out against the war. And yes, he did choose to FUND THE TROOPS once the mistake had already been made! You accuse him of that choice as though it were a flip-flop. You say nobody can simply hope for change and make it happen - as if Obama is simply espousing these ideas without plans to back them up. His plans are better thought out than yours and actually have a chance of being accomplished since Republicans actually work with him and listen to what he has to say. You represent the same uninspiring, patriotism-zapping, HOPELESS policies of the past. I am ready to be proud to be an American again. I am ready for change I can believe in and see and hear and touch and feel. I am ready for Obama, and so is America. Take your ball and go home.

For those who are trying to spin for Hillary that it???s OK for her to cry because she's behind in the polls - then is it EQUALLY OK for ANY Democrat male candidate to cry because he's not the front runner?

Go ahead, declare for all of us that its OK for Democrat male candidates to cry because they are behind in the polls ??? TRIPLE DOG DARE YA!

After all its Hillary's entire premise for crying that if SHE is NOT the Democrat candidate, then the country will be lost ??? thus she is sad, worried and crying for the nation because SHE is not the front runner!

Hmmmmm? Didn't think so. And yes you are a reverse "sexist" and a closet bigot and all around dumb, horrible person with double standards. Plus your logic sux and you couldn???t argue your way out of a wet paper bag.

Bush was voted in with what many people thought was a lack of experience and look what the country has paid for that mistake. I don't think democrats should discount Hillary Clinton because she has more experience than her competition.

Experience with what? What business did she successfully run? What State was she in charge of? What post in government did she occupy? To claim Senatorship from the same state as Chuck Schumer is certainly NOT something to put on any resume. Hillary is all about Hillary, no more no less.

      • Posted By: Cayman @ 01/07/2008 7:22:42 PM

Being a Senator for New York is probably a whole lot more than being Governor of Texas. And, what about the businesses the present idiot of a White House occupant ran into the ground ? Just like he has run this whole country into the ground - economy that is wretched, the gap between rich and everyone else growing wider with a middle class that is in desperate economic conditions, an Armed Forces (my sone is a Marine) that is stretched far beyond anything reasonable while this idiot and his cohorts go play in a ideologically driven war that has NOTHING to do with who attacked us on 9/11 ... I can go on. There is not one Republican candidate that can hold a candle to Hillary or Obama or Edwards. And what I saw in that video was passion for what is needed for the country.. what is wrong with that ? The current occupant has created such a mess we need someone with some passion for doing what is right. MAybe some of you don't even know what that means after 7 years of the joke we call President. Thank you Hillary for feeling for the rest of us, for feeling for the country and the wrong direction it has been in for 7 years and thank you for getting out there , taking s**t from the ignoramuses / incompetents/ ideologues who mouth platitudes without having a clue what those mean/ the people who care only for themselves and dont give a hoot what happens to this country. Thank you for caring. Here is someone who has spent her whole life in public service, knows more than most of us put together on what is wrong and what is needed and is perhaps the smartest and strongest willed candidate we have had in a long time. Let us not blow it ... AGAIN !!

You forgot to address the Bush part of my comment.

  • Posted By: sedward2 @ 01/07/2008 7:22:42 PM

I like Hilary but for some reason this "emotional Hilary" feels like a stunt to get more NJ votes. However, it's a shame b/c women and men are not viewed in the same manne,r so I can understand Hilary not showing an emotional side at all. It'll be turned around to show that women are too emotional to run the country. It's a fine line. Unfortunately, it doesn't make her seem very personable. She could still get my vote though....

  • Posted By: someonenew @ 01/07/2008 7:22:08 PM

If campaigning is too much for Hillary, so much that she has to cry in front of the world, she should get out now! What do you think the pressures of running this country will do to her. I don't want any President of mine crying when things don't go their way. Everyone else is just as passionate about their country as she is. She doe not have a monopoly on that. I believe she didn't think she could possibly lose.

  • Posted By: seehorse5 @ 01/07/2008 6:22:49 PM

Hillary still stinks. She's so fake it's pitiful.

    • Posted By: ajackson @ 01/07/2008 7:20:14 PM

I agree with you 100%- She is NOT real and NOT authenic.... We deserve better as American People. She needs to drop out of race and do us a favor.....

Hadn't registered, couldn't find comment to which to reply. But, writer was anti-Hillary and talked about her husbamd citing "expidate". Unless my brain has lost all its power, the word they wanted was "escapade". If you are educated and can't spell better than this, you better take some ancilllary college courses. Thanks, and PLEASE do not VOTE!!!!!!

    • Posted By: MIKKI @ 01/07/2008 7:19:51 PM

WOW, DIDN'T YOU MISPELL HUSBAND? REMEMBER TO TAKE THOSE SAME COURSES. THANKS, AND PLEASE VOTE

  • Posted By: lbindyvoter @ 01/07/2008 6:58:21 PM

"This is personal"? And the reference to the first day in office? Geez. Hillary sounds great when she directly copies John Edwards. So does Obama. Folks, go straight to the source, and vote for John Edwards.

I'll bet you're a lawyer, or related to one. how many people have you sued this month?

  • Posted By: remarker @ 01/07/2008 6:51:45 PM

    Still undecided......
A politician with a heart?!? FINALLY!!!! Maybe that is what we have been missing in a President/Presidential candidate, someone who isn't afraid to be "real". I think it showed great strength and resolve for her to show her true face and a little emotion. It's not as if she broke down sobbing, she showed PASSION for what she believes in.
If Hillary makes it to the White House I have no doubt that she will step up and do the job that needs to be
    done.
My question to those who attack Hillary for showing a bit of humanity; if it had been a man would it be as big of an issue?? How many people are actually focsuing on her stand on issues versus her gender?
I am still undecided, but have more respect for Hillary as a person and potential President than ever before.

makepeace. The Clintons have contributed to the "exponentially corrupt state of the US".
I want no Bushes or Clintons anywhere near the white house. Lets try someone younger and outside the mainstream

  • Posted By: townfan @ 01/07/2008 7:16:33 PM

Iowa and New Hampshire are not going to provide us with the next president. There is a lot of time left for the candidates, on both sides, to get their full messages out to everyone. I'm concerned that people don't take the time to listen carefully to the candidates words and think about the meaning. Get over the hype and buzz words and really listen. I think both parties are weak right now.

  • Posted By: bart1965 @ 01/07/2008 7:16:06 PM

I finally saw her passion and commitment to serving the American people. She sealed the deal for me.

  • Posted By: bobmet @ 01/07/2008 6:41:24 PM

What is she going to do if were hit by terrorist?

    Cry?

    • Posted By: ARChicago @ 01/07/2008 6:49:07 PM

Maybe go invade a counrty that wasn't even invlolved?

      • Posted By: ARChicago @ 01/07/2008 7:15:23 PM

        sorry - I mean "involved"

    • Posted By: TeacherKB @ 01/07/2008 7:03:19 PM

You act like she curst into tears, sobbing. The question of who will serve as an efffective president shouldn't be about "what if we're attacked by a terrorist?" like it happens every day! Wake up!

    • Posted By: TeacherKB @ 01/07/2008 6:52:10 PM

She didn't burst into tears, here...she displayed some passion and authenticness. I think if we are attacked, it is okay to show some passion instead of remaining stone-faced while reading to a classroom of students. When Columbine was attacked, Bill Clinton responded in much the same way that Hilary did today--a voice crack, a welling of the eyes. That to me displays strength and humility.

When did a presidential campaing become the big question of "if we are attacked by terrorists?" as if it happens every day? Lets look at the broader picture, here!

  • Posted By: themtb2007 @ 01/07/2008 7:04:59 PM

Look, you people are saying Crying makes her MORE HUMAN? So if BARACK started CRYING, you would feel better? if BUSh started Crying, you'd feel safe? THIS is the "woman" card being played.

    • Posted By: 2001snake @ 01/07/2008 7:15:13 PM

Bush has cried. Where have you been?

  • Posted By: Open Mind @ 01/07/2008 7:14:32 PM

Finally, we see a "human" Hillary. We all know she is capable, intelligent and has a proven track record. I wish her handlers would allow her to be more "human" because this is what voters are responding to in Obama and in the Republican's Huckabee. Neither has extensive experience, but both are "real" in that voters can identify with these two people. John McCain is a smart, experienced man who is a true patriot in every sense of the word. But he has little hope of getting elected to the highest office because he appears to be too aloof. People want change, yes. But what they really want in a president is someone who appears, at least, to be "of the people and by the people." Hillary, until this particular moment caught on tape, has always held her head high in the face of adversity, but in doing so seems to be above we mere mortals who stumble at times through life. Hillary, go ahead and allow yourself to fall - Americans will catch you with open arms.

  • Posted By: ratfinkanonymouse @ 01/07/2008 7:14:30 PM

Meh, Hilary is the American Iron Lady (no disrespect to Margaret Thatcher). Hillary's response seems more like a media stunt. Her 'choked up' response and her canned response don't even correspond to the audience members question. Maybe Hillary is just trying to show her feminine side.

  • Posted By: Change is a verb not a platform @ 01/07/2008 7:14:27 PM

Why are laundry rooms in the basement? - Because men designed the houses.
Why does Hillary get picked on for showing emotion? - because leaders don't cry? Who said it was the male standard that we must accept? Let me tell you IT DOES NOT WORK!!!!!

  • Posted By: opalpc @ 01/07/2008 7:14:19 PM

Bravo Hillary. We will be ther on election day. The entire family. Tears should never be mistaken for weakness. Passion/motivated sure. Good luck to you and thank you for all you do.

  • Posted By: tdiiceo @ 01/07/2008 7:13:27 PM

What a joke. It it was real, it was because she is losing and wants to be president for what it does for her, not for what she can do for us. It it was fake, ditto, and same old political games Clintons play to win at any costs (false retoric, staged photo ops, fake stats, etc). America showed in the mid-term elections that we want change, but erred in thinking that would happen by voting Democrat. Same old game, same old type people and same old flawed system that we are sick of. We have to look for innovative candidates from any party to achieve the change we want. Bushes and Clintons are as same old as same old gets. Crying make seem to make her human, but it does not make her same old game any different.
