Bravo and refreshing to see a passionate person. I well up when I am angry, hurt not to be mistaken for weakness. Thanks Hillary and I hope you win. I will be there on voting day as well as the entire household of registered family members!

NBCTJON is exactly correct -the current criminals in the WH have to be brought to book, although this could backfire in the polls.... However if the US is to raise its head in the world again and spout "democracy" we will someday be faced with the question from the world..."why did we not take a dictatorial leader and his buddies to task?

It seems that people are blind.
Hillary Clinton is truly believe in what she is doing, that why it is so personal for her.
She doesn???t run for president just to get to White house. She believes that she can deliver.
I do too. The more I see news, the more I read post and comments, the less I think people using brain to choose candidate. Remember, the primary process is to find the best candidate TO BE ELECTED PRESIDENT, not the most charismatic Democrat to be on the cover of GQ magazine.

It amazes me that Hillary is showing more emotion, over fear of losing to Obama , than she did when her husband's philandering became public knowledge. This seems a little too contrived to me.

  • Posted By: ratfinkanonymouse @ 01/07/2008 7:11:01 PM

Meh, it seemed pretty well rehearsed, a canned response with soundbites that she wanted to get out to the media, and perhaps show voters her 'human' or soft feminine side.

I do not like Hillary Clinton and her crying today just made me like her less. She is calculated and is in it for her personal victory. If she wins the party nomination, I will look to another party for my vote in November.

    • Posted By: ARChicago @ 01/07/2008 7:10:47 PM

If you can't see that the men running are not also calulating their every move than please don't vote at all!

  • Posted By: anapolez @ 01/07/2008 6:56:05 PM

The tears were fact, strategic and well planned, just like her continuing marriage to Slick Willy. She is a "by any means necessary" type individual. Just as she saw her continued alliance with Bill as a strategic move for her political aspirations...I'm positive the "tears" were strategic as well.

I don't love Obama, but I do like his message of change...and let's be honest, there have been plenty of relatively unexperienced men to hold the highest office....one of those, they claim to be one of the best...Reagan (an actor by trade)

Reagon governed prior to his Presidency. At the time California, if its own entity, had the fourth largest economy on the planet. Governing provides experience well beyond that of lawmakers. I'd rather see a president rise from a governorship than a lawmaker.

Hillary may really believe what she says and may be showing true emotion, but that doesn't change the fact that she is up to her eyeballs in the Washington morass - lobbyists, consultants, shady deals, cover-ups, stonewalling.

Hilary makes me ashamed of being a woman. Her "show" of emotion only validates what men already say - that women are too emotional to be in charge. What would she do if the country faced a real crisis if she was in office - break down and bawl like a baby. I think a strong woman would make a great president but she shouldn't be put in charge of a bus much less a country - she is unemotionally unstable and this only proves it without doubt.

    • Posted By: ARChicago @ 01/07/2008 7:08:07 PM

You are right - men don't cry so we shouldn't either!

Man is she good with Manipulating ...I almost fell for it...NOT!
I think she had gas from too much Pizza ;-)
    No tears...more like IBS

you are not a nice person.................

  • Posted By: makepeace @ 01/07/2008 7:05:07 PM

re: "...she lacks the emotionalstamina that the duties of the President requires."
Because everybody knows that is exactly what counts: emotional stamina. Forget skill, forget experience, forget the candidate's entire intellectual perspective and mental capacity, because "emotional stamina" is what makes or breaks a person. Whether her tears portrayed genuine passion for her cause and the exponentially corrupt state of the US and World today, or even if they were merely rhetoric, selecting a president based on his or her "emotional stamina" is in itself contradictory.
Nbctjon-- you are amazing! "The only politician I want to see cry is Pres. Bush when V.P. Cheney has him waterboarded" Thank you for making my day :)

Hillary with Tears? Gimme a break!! Who cares if she was crying. It certainly doesn't effect my vote. She isn't fit to run the country. She thinks that just because she was the wife of the president doesn't mean that she knows everything. She should leav it to the real men that know more she does. Go back home Hillary!!!

  • Posted By: bdk138 @ 01/07/2008 7:03:16 PM

She's cooked... Choking up and tearing up because she's tired and behind in the polls - The media will go nuts over this - HOW WOULD SHE REACT IF GOD FORBID A BOMB WENT OFF IN A MAJOR US CITY??? And YES, it's a relevent question.

  • Posted By: hoehumhum @ 01/07/2008 6:53:55 PM

Hilary makes me ashamed to be a woman! And in that very moment she "teared up" she proved that she is too emotional to run a bus much less a country. She validated what every man says about women being too emotional to be in charge. SHE is why women are not in control right now and she is only proving the men RIGHT!!

Your shame has been placed there by the opinions of the uneducated. Be true to yourself and realize that the world as well as the human race, actually need emotions to keep us grounded and well balanced and mentally healthy.

It's pretty clear to a bunch of us Americans with triple-digit IQs, that the question and response were not even close to being in-sync. Tears, almost tears, please, if she never has before, why would she now, or how could she now, except if it were scripted. Her entire life has been and always will be scripted. Is she smart? She sure is. Is she hard working and driven, yup on that too. Is she really seeking the office for the good of America? Maybe so, but personally, I don't buy it for a nanosecond and that's longer than usual for this 'Vulcan' politician. Truthfully, whoever finally takes the oath of office is certainly going to get my respect and will be my President, regardless of party affiliation. I only hope that whoever that individual is, he/she got into office through the votes of people who made themselves informed and did not just push a button or follow party lines.

"This is personal"? "First day in office"? Clinton always sounds just great when she copies (basically verbatim) everything John Edwards says. For that matter, so does Obama. Go to the source - vote for John Edwards.

    To Marinewifevet,

Now, it is this very ruthless and detached mentality that has gotten us into this mess, forgetting that people are people , that selfish pursuit of wealth or for vengeance yields devastating results. I will not vote for Hillary because she is incompetent, and this incompetence comes not from her gender, but from her character. I know several woman with the strength and integrity for leadership, but it is the backwards, chauvinistic musings of people such as yourself that keep that from happening.

But, if you truly believe that women are inferior decision makers, than I must ask you to forfeit your power to vote, madam, for you are, by your own standards, incapable.

Bottom line.... She could not handle her "affairs" in managing her own household- How could she ever be the President of the United States Of America---Highest Office in our land...... Please vote her out Americans---This Office is Sacred and we cannot afford to have her to "stain" the highest position in our Country. Don't fall for someone who does not handle her own household---Most understand what I am saying here- Her tears were not "authenic" but manufactured for her political gain--- Time to wake up and vote her out FAST!

  • Posted By: Change is a verb not a platform @ 01/07/2008 6:59:12 PM

I say good for Hillary! How many of the people voting , how many of the under-exercising fat-ass Americans could keep up the pace of this campaign. Hillary is real, she is smart, and she knows what and how to work within the framework of our government. Change is going to come no matter who wins- Bush is finished. Change is not a platform it is merely a verb describing a fact! Vote HILLARY
