She'll look wonderful crying in front of World Leaders!

Too cute by half. Which staffer wrote this. Give me a break....the "real" HIllary. She's crying because she's seeing the power she's always chased slip away.

Looks like she is taking a page out of her husband's book and trying to get a sympathy vote. Her years of experience speak very clear -- a socialist who realizes her grab for power is slipping away

It's funny how a lot of people on this message board are just putting together insults to Hillary and superficially praising Obama. These are our voters? Wow, that's really scary. Next time you bash on someone, please do it with substantiated support because you're making yourselves look silly on Newsweek, a site for educated individuals. Hillary Clinton has done more for this country than you ever will. Obama is a great man, but you praising him like that could mean that you're not looking at Obama and Clinton with the same glasses. Furthermore it means that you're having a lower standard for Obama than Clinton since you're more critical of her.

Way to go Hillary! Obama may make a good candidate in the future, but we want someone who is qualified and experienced now. The heck with what "O" says.

    • Posted By: skullduggery1 @ 01/07/2008 5:28:17 PM

And what are her honest experiences and qualifications exactly. Don't see how being first lady give you any REAL qualifications. Senator ok maybe, but she's pretty green in the senate too.

      • Posted By: smyers16 @ 01/07/2008 6:03:06 PM

She's never had a REAL job, never done anything that resembled a change for the better, never impressed me one bit. However, if you want someone to hold a Garage sale at the White House, I've heard that she's the candidate for you. Eight years in the White House... The pastry chef has been there eight years. Does he qualify as experienced to lead this country. I'd vote for him FIRST.

I have watched Hillary openly act childish as she listened to President Bush speak on national TV. She would roll her eyes and show her contempt for the Republicans and the President throughout the entire speech. I am not interested in having a President (man or woman) that acts like she is the only person that knows what the American people want. I am not interested in having a government that wants to control our every move. She stood by as Bill made a mockery of our highest office and excused him because she doesn't want her image tarnished. She wants to change the government to the Democratic views of more control, less freedom. I truly wish we could get an American to run and be elected as Presidency that was not Democratic or Republican. I am Republican because I want my Constitution Rights to remain intact and not be slowly pecked apart or twist the words to try and change the Founding Fathers wise verbage.. This country does need change -- Hillary is not the person to do it. She's not strong, she's self centered and self serving. This is only my opinion and we will all have the chance to express our will by voting. God help America.

Sorry, but I don't want a President who (almost) cries in public... especially because they need to demonstrate their "softer" side. It was a pathetic and orchestrated moment. Whoever believes she was sincere is an idiot. Perhaps she should have (almost) cried when she help authorize Bush's war of choice. Or, after the press learned that she never even read the intelligence report on Iraq.

On another note: has anyone thought about the infidelities of good ol' Bill after the ML affair? I bet the Republicans will have a field day if she's nominated.

    • Posted By: Snorkeldorf @ 01/07/2008 6:02:51 PM

I'm not an idiot and I believe her almost-tears were sincere. There's no need for name-calling here; it only serves to weaken the argument. That said, her emotion more likely stems from the realization that her nomination, not too long ago labeled by most pundits as a slam-dunk, now seems to be in serious jeopardy. Factor in weariness and the enormous pressure of a Presidential election and I submit, man or woman, most of us would have a similar reaction under the same circumstances. I don't plan to vote for Mrs. Clinton in the primary, but this incident wouldn't have swayed me one way or the other even if I had been considering it. Buck up Hillary!!! There's a lot more campaigning to go and the polls from two small states on the fringes of the electorate should not overly discourage you.

Hillary is a fake, heartless robot and you would have to be extreme naive not to see that.

  • Posted By: cathemac @ 01/07/2008 6:00:52 PM

I'm glad to see Hillary showing this side of herself. She is passionate about the work she does and I've seen her work firsthand --I think she's right to show her passion --whether that's through tears, sweat, whatever --she needs to let her audiences know that she truly cares about this job and that it's not 'just a race' for her. Keep it up, Hillary!

  • Posted By: cdav04 @ 01/07/2008 5:37:26 PM

Hillary, you go girl!! Passion equals commitment and dedication. I too believe this country deserves better that we've had and we need the right person from square one in a year. Many a tired person has welled up under similar trying circumstances; there's nothing wrong with that. Last night on CNN/ABC I could tell she was tired; imagine facing even more days of this non-stop scrutiny. When she's on the job in the Senate, nobody's ever seen her well up or cry so it's not an everyday occurance. I'd say she's got emotional and intellectual strength in spades.

Are u serious? Don't you see through that facade? She cried because there were a lot of women voters who were undecided. Ridic. Is she going to cry when we go to war? is she going to cry when it gets too tough. This is for the presidency. Give me a break with the you go girl. people like you are the people who are going to vote the wrong people in power. Crying!!!!!!!! Please! You woman do that to get what you want. my wife does it to me, I sure as heck am not going to let a candidate for president do it to me.

If you take a look back through history you'll see black men elected senators first 1870 vs 1932 for women. receiving the right to vote before women (With the 14th and 15th amendment for black men and the 19th amendment for women). So I really don't see why everyone is so surprised. I've always said we would have a black men as president before a women. Sad really.

Hillary can end wars, Cool I'll vote for her. Say, why didn't she do it while first lady. Why wait till you are president. We could have avoided 9/11. Is Hillary saving her war stopping super powers until she gets elected, isn't that a bit selfish, why must any more soldiers die, why wait...oops now I sound like her.

I am quite disturbed that she would let her feelings take control, she wants to run the country however,
keep in mind we already been down that beaten path with her husband, why should we dare go backwards.
She should stick to her job she has already, let a younger, vibrant, African American who cares for everyone.
Make change for the better good of humanity, this would be her greatest contribution to the party! Dem. DM.

In 2000 I wrote a book on the subject of emotional honesty. On my book tour that year I used in public the example of America's public disillusionment that followed the Muskie moment 35 years ago in his "tearful"" defense against attacks upon his wife (by dirty tricksters). The issue isn't whether politicians show their feelings or not. It is that we all would like to hide our feelings as well as most politicians do, particularly when they engage in shameful or dishonorable acts. We've had plenty of time to see an administration that is so well-practicing in lying to themselves that they can easily "fake it" when misleading the gullible American people. While I don't necessarily support Hillary, I suggest that knowing what one fees is important in being emotionally authentic. We have become a nation of compulsive and convincing liars. We want a president that can lie better than other candidates. Being an honest human being begins with recognizing not only our own feelings, but caring about others' sentiments. While her husband was known for "compartmentalizing" his sexual excipade in the oval office and soon after delivered a (non-remorseful)stirring State of the Nation address, it is refreshing to know that we fear so much our own hidden feelings that we denegrate presidential candidates as "weak" because they have feelings.I think it's time for America to grow up and recognize that one of the surest signs of inner strenth is knowing and revealing our own emotional truth.

Tears does not show weakness but, strength and that the person is Human. Whether or not they are real or fake which I really do not believe they are, has nothing to do with the character of a person.

  • Posted By: cathemac @ 01/07/2008 5:58:36 PM

I'm glad to see this side of Hillary presented on the "campaign trail"...She is a very passionate person about so many issues and it's good to see her showing that passion.

I say good for Hillary! How many of the people voting , how many of the under-exercising fat-ass Americans could keep up the pace of this campaign. Hillary is real, she is smart, and she knows what and how to work within the framework of our government. Change is going to come no matter who wins- Bush is finished. Change is not a platform it is merely a verb describing a fact! Vote HILLARY

reporter: How will you deal with terrorist?
Hillary: "Those silly boys should get a spanking... (sobbing) Why would anybody want to hurt us Americans???"

  • Posted By: Eracism @ 01/07/2008 5:56:37 PM

Even Clinton's dog would make a better president than the current idiot and his evil, misguided, racist administration! Hilary, Barak and John Edwards all have the brains and compassion to save this country... although I'm still holding out for Al Gore who would make the greatest President of all time!!!!!
