"I just don't want to see us fall backward as a nation," Clinton began, her voice strained, her eyes welling. " Problem is we have fallen behind as a nation in ALL the world's eyes. We need someone to change the mess we are in as a people. I feel Obama is picking forth that message. I don't dislike Hillary, I just believe Obama would make a better president.

Oh, pul-leeze! All of the candidates are tired and stressed, love America, are passionate about their issues, think that they've been misunderstood, want to win, etc. The only reason she's crying is because her campaign is imploding and she's not getting her way! She explodes one day and cries the next...is this what we want in a POTUS?

People are not tired of the Clintons. Do you realize that all candidates are going to make promises and if they don't have the experience of how Washington works its not going to happen. Who is Obama? He is
new to the political scene. I am very leary of him and his agenda. I think this country is ready for a woman President. People wake up! We do need the experience. Does Obama have you so blinded that you can't see the forest for the trees? Watching the debate it didn't make me want to vote for Edwards because he was siding with Obama. It will be a very sad day for America if they vote for Remember Obama has Muslim
ties and he came on the scene not too long ago. Hilary Clinton does have a personal side which she is showing. You may call her sensitivity an act but what about Edwards and Obama!

It's a dirty job, but someone has got to do it!!!!! GO HILLARY!!!!!

  • Posted By: VforVendetta @ 01/07/2008 5:30:11 PM

Yes -- some ass-kicking is in order and she is just the one to do it. Face it --- she is the only one the GOP is affraid of!

Sirpendragon: Side note maybe you should use spell check: Get a CLUE and get your old sayings right: "People who LIVE in glass houses should not throw stones".
My opinion on Hillary - no woman should ever be seated in the White House as President... emotional beings we are, and the combination of the two could be very deadly!!!! No matter what the President should be a man - and the first lady should be a woman, who wants a first man anyway???? Crazy!

First of all, there were no tears. View it again. She got choked up, but no tears.
Secondly, how do you know what a person is feeling? For example, Rush Limbaugh has told you to hate Hillary, so you do. But are you really feeling that hate? Just asking.

If Senator Clinton undersatnds it is that combination of intensity and calmness that we are looking for, she will convince those who have never liked or trusted her that she is the right person for this moment.

What is all this Hillary hating about. You people need to quit hating. Is it because she is a strong woman and
you all are weak human beings. Get a life you haters.

I don't hate Hillary, I pity her. She chooses to morph into a politician instead of kicking that cheating SOB to the curb. She didn't cry then because she needed him to catapult her into office. Grow a brain.

I'm still undecided about my choice for president, but this reinforces the view of Hilary Clinton I once had as a strong and capable, yet compassionate and very human person that I gained after briefly meeting her in person in 1993 at the funeral for the OKC bombing. I think that if she showed this kind of openness, honesty, and realness with far less coaching then she would be far better off in the polls than she is now. Having said that, I'm still not sure if I understand her message enough yet. Obama is the new face with great talk, but little track record. Edwards is the status-quo with questionable allegiances. Huckaby is another establishment candidate. Romney is overshadowed by his religion. Giuliani is scarry as hell if you remember what he did prior to 9/11 as mayor. McCain is the straight, tough-talker who doesnt shy away from the hard topics, but by all appearances he may be a sellout....so someone give me a reason to vote for them...even Hillary.

I posted this but it hasn't posted yet so I thought I would repeat myself. You might look into researching Ron Paul, he might not be the person for you but he is very interesting and has alot of experience. I totally agree with you on Giuliani, whew

All I can say is look up Ron Paul. He may not be the person for you but I noticed you didn't say his name. He is a very interesting man with plenty of experience and values. I totally agree with you that Giuliani is scary, whew

If you are not upset about what the Neo-Cons and Big Biz (including Corporate Media) have done to this great country, this inspiring democratic experiment, then you are out of touch or with them. Leave the smooth talkers for talk radio, in the White House I want someone who is ready to kick righteous ass!!

She has never done an unplanned thing in her life. Her moves have always been carefully planned. She knew exactly what she needed to do for damage control, which Bill brought upon her with his stupid statements. .

Who are these women who think that 1. men aren't emotional and 2. emotions make you incapable of making good decisions.? Men are just taught that it is desirable to hide their emotions while women are encouraged to show them. Women make important decisions everyday and are certainly capable and competent enough to run this country.

  • Posted By: GustoMaybe @ 01/07/2008 5:26:15 PM

I think she just proved herself to be too emotional to be president, not that I needed convincing.

Hillary Clinton has been championing the causes I care about since before Obama was anyone! So what if Oprah thinks he's swell. Hillary is the real deal. She's worked hard despite the crap the press and so many others want to throw at her; she's the BEST person for the job.

    • Posted By: smyers16 @ 01/07/2008 5:25:29 PM

Horse Hockey! The only thing real about Hillary is her desire for power. Best for the Job?... She's NEVER had a job. I'm GLAD you don't hire for our company. I'd be working with an office full of IDIOTS.

If you consider the schedules these candidates must endure, I'll bet the guys are shedding a few tears, too, as they see their hopes for president dwindle. If anything, Hillary shows how passionate she is over the present state of our nation. For the biggest change in history, vote for the strongest willed woman out there....Hillary Clinton!

  • Posted By: AdamL @ 01/07/2008 5:25:02 PM

Very well written in my opinion. It's not fair to judge what happened today on how it's going to affect her campaign, though. That is the root of this incident after all.

Upon observing this video the first thing that came to mind were Hillary's Campaign Manager and staff urging her to reveal her softer side and portray more femininity. I see this only as a facade in a weak attempt to catch up with the real charisma that is Barrack Obama.

If more people weren't afraid to do a gut check and let their emotions show once in awhile, maybe our country wouldn't be in the economic and military pickle that it is!
