Comment: did anyone REALLY miss the globes? doubt anyone will miss the oscars either. hollywood can pat itself on the back in private for a change. the good news is maybe the strike will last for a few years.

Comment: It WOULD be nice to have a year without all the hoopla of the Oscars and other hyped-up awards shows! Personally, I can live without all the award shows on TV. There ought to be a different way to recognize good work in the entertainment field without all the glitz, glamour, gaudiness and gratuities associated with these shows, although they do provide a diversion from the autricities for some people, which is another way we turn a blind eye. Sad.

Comment: I wouldn't mind if there was no Oscar ceremony this year. While it's a jolly romp and good work should get its due recognition, the excess of it, particularly when so many of our young people are overseas in such dire circumstances (i.e., this *#@! war) it is less fun for me to watch.

Isn't it ironic: Xerox is hoping it can profit by teaching companies how to reduce their printing.
