Honestly, I don't care I'm not voting for her anyway. She want to relive the Clinton era and frankly I don't. I don't plan on voting for John McCain and the gain because they want to relive the Reagan era. I'm not excite about this time period either. I need a candidate that lives in this time period and is focus on going forward with the nation not backwards.

What a bunch of tripe! What did Clinton say that was not true??? Dr. King was indeed the driving force behind the movement, but without presidential endorsement, nothing would have been carried from ideal to legislation. What's insensitive about stating facts? Nobody's role is being diminished; this is just a statement of historical fact!

I don't understand the need for Hillary to comment that the President is the ultimate decisionmaker. To me this goes back to what Obama is saying that "the peoples voices are not being heard". Its not all about the President and decisionmakers

Lyndon Johnson did not pass the civil rights bill. He SIGNED it. CONGRESS passes bills. This kind of ignorance is why this country is in trouble. Congress passed the bill on the strength of the REPUBLICAN members who supported it. (Note that it is the Democrat Party that seems to be in favor of an uneducated and uninformed electorate.)

Poeple say its not a Black issue with Obama But if that were really the truth his wife and he wouldnt be trying to always include the race factor in their talks. Obama is in many ways acting like President bush, Bush uses the terrorist behind every tree without proof and Obama uses Change without a clear way to make change. our government is very fragile and it will only work in that rigid state. If it werent so then every other country would be like ours and they cant duplicate our government . Obama is like a used car salesman who is telling everyone he can save the world. I guess what it will come to is we will all have to eat standing up.

THE ONLY "FAIRYTALES" in recent memory " I took a puff but didn't inhale" and " I never had sexual relations with that woman " are delivered buy none other than "SLICK WILLY " you have got to be kidding? Let there be no mistake here, the Clinton's have made a career on political assasination of anybody that stands in the way of thier goals. This is no different. The question of experiance on day one is surround yourself with the advisor's that are well informed and respected and you can have 35 years, a 100 years of experiance. The one quality to keep in mind is "integrity" and the Clinton's don't play at that end of the field. The end they play at is the dirty end, throw anything and see what sticks. Politic's as usual. Do we what that in the White House again ?? Obama has been for the most part a pretty classy guy. If you look back Billary fired the first shot or two. The Clinton's have a political career of character asassination on any threat. We don't need more of the same !!!!

Obama, of all his balckness is really capitalizing on what Hillary commented about Martin Luther King with regards to Pres/Lindon Johnson. I can see now how evil this people are, afro-american. You can never trust this tribe. After they enjoy a good ride during the Clinton era, now it's greedy-ness and distorsion no matter what because obama have seen a hole where he can crawl and dig, deeper and deeper. Hypocrites*

THE ONLY "FAIRYTALE" revealed of recent years, "I took a puff but didn't inhale' and " I never had sexual relations with that woman" , was by someone that has made a political life of tainting anyone that stands in the way of a goal in the crosshairs. The wife is no different. Character assasination has been and is now a cornerstone of this campaign. Voter's need to keep in mind what integrity is and must look like. The Clinton's play at the other end of the field where you really get down in the dirt, throw anything you can and see what sticks. Politic's as usual for that duo. Do we want more of the same for the White House???

Sorry-- Clinton's assertion is not historically accurate. Dr. King's vision, as stated early in his I Have A Dream speech (1963) was broader than what LBJ could accomplish thru legislation. In fact, almost 2 centuries after a Constitution and Bill of Rights, 13th and 14th Amendments and Brown vs. Board of Education in 1954-- it's clear that legislation isn't the key. Remember it was 4 years AFTER the LBJ signing that Dr. King was killed. Maybe Hillary should have told HIM that his dream had already been realized. No matter who said it-- or what the motivation. It's the trivialization of that vision that offends me.

Comment: Bill Clinton may have been affectionately called the " first Black President", however, Hillary is no Bill Clinton! To say what she said last week about MLK and LBJ bothered me. I think fundamentally that Hillary is more interested in becoming President than solving the problems our nation and world need fixed. Barack seems to be more focused on bringing us together as a society to work on our issues. As far as media coverage goes, the networks all across the board are giving Hillary far more air time. How do you describe a scenario when a candidate is ahead in the polls by almost 20 percent two weeks prior to a primary, and wins by two or three percent a comeback victory? To quote our "first Black President" : "Give me a break!" The framing of the media talking points favor Hillary, no doubt about it.

Unfortunately this is the climate of politics today in the age of the 24 hour news cycle. Does anybody believe that Hilary Clinton feels that LBJ was a more important figure in the civil rights movement that MLK? I sure don't, and yet her comments can reasonably be interpreted to mean that. This is what happened to John Kerry over and over (and over) in the 2004 election. He would say something and everybody would know what he meant and yet that might be different from the literal translation of what he said, and so he would have to spend hours defending (and to some contradicting) himself. This is why all politicians seem faken and they all speak in "talking points" because one inexact phrase can be spun and get you into trouble.

So Newsweek goes to an Obama supporter and he (the supporter) finds the remark insensitive -- why am I not surprised? Maybe you could have found some civil rights icon that was uncommitted to either Clinton or Obama and had them comment. -- it made have made for interesting reading rather than just more campaign spin -- or if you are going to have some campaign shills have one from both sides to keep it even. What you wrote was pretty much a waste of time -- just more opinion from the Obama campaign and I think we know where they stand. In fact I think we all know where both Clinton and Obama stand on this. Give us a break already!

Instead of relying upon "experience" to bring about change, Lets all Experience the Change that Fresh New Thought Brings. Even hands-on experience at perpetuating and repeating the past will never lead to Change. If you travel the same route in the same vehicle to the job everyday.. has anything changed?

Could Lady Bird Johnson run the Oval Office even better than LBJ did? By virture of being the 1st Lady, did she vicariously absorb the same experience and knowledge that Lyndon possesed? Finally, assuming that this improabability could occur; would she do anything different? Would she be in such command of the experiences as to improve or better anything already done? I say at best she might be able to implement some of her husbands after thoughts and 2nd thought. Maybe, but is it her thoughts, her changes that would be contemplated.

Could Jaqueline Kennedy-Onasis have brought with her to the Oval Office even the same level of Experience as JFK possessed? Through what process? Osmosis?

Sorry Mrs. Clinton. We're not buying it. Let it Go "Billary"... Monica Lewenski spent more time in the Oval Office than you did. The only thing you have spent the majority of your Adulthood on is trying to change Bill.

I am a black woman from California and I LOVE OBAMA. However, -think about it - I DO NOT feel that Hillary Clinton was making light of Martin Luther King's efforts. All she said was that, without white politicians who listened and were enlightened with what he had to say, our Dr. Marthin Luther King's words would have fell on deaf ears. DMLK could not have written and passed the Civil Rights Acts on his own - COULD HE? I think that is all she meant - the MEDIA SPIN ON THIS ONE IS BURIED WAY DOWN IN THE SH**. COME ON PRESS - GET OFF OF IT!

Oh, give me a break!!! Anyone with an ounce of sense would have known this was coming. What does BLACK OR WHITE HAVE TO DO WITH ANYTHING WHEN YOU ARE FACED WITH THE FUTURE OF MILLIONS!!!!!!!!Black, white, green, yellow, or orange. I'm not voting for a color!!!!!!! As a matter of fact I won't be voting for either Clinton or Obama.

I don't think the comment in and of itself will make that much of a difference. However, when you start looking at all the underhanded things that the HRC campaign are doing, then you start to see a pattern of dishonesty. We don't need this type of leadership now, especially after eight years of it from the Repulicans. American can do better.
