Experience means nothing if the majority of it led to negative policy or no progress. Senator Clinton is the heir apparent to the centrist-democrat candidate modeled by her husband (successfully) and Al Gore and John Kerry (unsuccessfully). They have little legislative accomplishments outside of those that have a more conservative tilt and have shown no interest in futhering turly progressive causes.
Sure, it would be nice if Edwards and Obama had more political experience to help them navigate the infighting, but Senator Clinton's campaign is often toxic and resembles the dirty tricks of President Bush, President Reagan, and her husband. Need we forget that Senator Obama was an accomplished community activist, professor, and lawyer before joining the Senate? Or that Senator Edwards had a long and successful legal career? Do these skills not transfer to higher office?

I must admit, I have leaned towards the Republican party for many years until 2000.
I honestly don't see the current "stay the course" attitude working at all, and if anyone actually watched Bush in any debate in previous years, I'm still confused as to how anybody voted for him.

But, ths being said, I have decided to vote Democratic again this election unless Hillary is the candidate.
Let me explain, while also saying Bill Clinton was not a bad President. However, in all honesty, the Clintons had their chance for change, 2 terms worth, but still, they decided to follow the "stay the course/big money" attitude of Washington.

I want real change, someone who is not in the lobbyist pockets, someone willing to stand up to the corporations that run this country of ours! In my opinion, that would not be with another Clinton White House. They had their shot, but only left things as status quo. Granted, anything is better than what we have now.

We have to choose our battles, draw a line somewhere and make some compromises, mine is to first get this country back into the hands of the people, not the corporations, lobyists, and now the rest of the world buying us out.

I don't totally agree with Obama and Edwards on all topics, but, in my opinion, a vote for Hillary will not bring "true" change to our country.

Obama does not even have 8 years of experience in the senate. I need to know WHAT they have actually done prior to being a president and not what they promise. Action speak louder than words. What is Obama's accomplishments being in the senate and what is Hillary's. Obama is a pretty talker with no experience and no results.

The denate in Las Vegas showed the the Democrats have the superior candidates. I see that Hillary is now anti-war thanks(sic) to Obama,Dennis, Richardsson and Edwards. What an opportunist she and Bill are. She has also insulated herself against serious criticism by employing a selfprotecting strategy of peace among Democrats but is that not denying the American people the right to know all that is necessary to make an informed choice. She will now go on to win both the primaries and the Presidency as the Republicans are weak and have run a disastarous White house for 2 terms. SO MUCH FOR CHANGE. AMERICANS WILL AGAIN BE DENIED GOOD GOVERNANCE.

It was wrong to exclude Dennis Kucinich frome the debate in Las Vegas. All candidated should be give a chance to express their positions to the nation. As regards the debated Hillary is back to her old ways again -aroogant and feeling she is God's git to America.Having introduced race and geeting a truce she has pacified Obama and Edwards. What a machavellian strategy. Her campaigning funding from the wealthy and her imminent victory will see the end of Americans hope for change.NO CHANCE FOR CHANGE. BUSINNESS AS USUAL.

First it was "Romney must win in MI to remain in the race"...then it was "he's losing in the polls to McCain by 5%"...then he wins by 9-10 points and we're told "it really means nothing." Spare me. Why are the press so anxious to get folks out of the race -- both R and D -- before we have a chance to vote??

  • Posted By: Gerald G. @ 01/15/2008 8:43:32 PM

Of course NV counts!! I can't believe how the liberal press twists things -- such as saying that Mitt Romney is 'fighting for his life' in Michigan when he has the most money and the highest GOP delegate count -- BEFORE he wins MI! And, how does the press continue to give Hillary a pass for claiming she has all this 'experience' for being First Lady in the White House, when she and Bill won't allow the National Archives to release her White House papers/communications so the American people can judge that for themselves. The American women and men I know just don't buy that for a minute!

I agree with you! And suggest that the best way to be informed it to read, do research on the internet...while the Bill Clinton administration did some good, what I read tells me they were a very troubled administration. And I, for one, really don't want to go there again...

Think this article brings to the fore the problems with the Democratic campaign. At a time when we really need America to pull together, these political games aimed at 'win at all costs', is thoroughly distasteful! In my opinion, all this 'nasty' mentioned by Ralston is connected to Clinton supporters...to claim no knowledge makes me question Clinton's ability to run the country with an administration of honor and integrity - two qualities American's strongly need, especially now, in their leader. And, if Ms. Clinton does not to know what is going on in her own campaign, would she really make the best leader for our country? I pray the courts dismiss the lawsuit tomorrow! The timing is too significant to be coincidental - and should be seen for exactly what it is...an attempt to chastise the Culinary Union for backing Obama.
As for Clinton's 35 years of experience - I only know of her experience as a Senator...just what has she accomplished in her 35 years? The only changes I've seen in the last 35 years, at least pertaining to Health Care, have been a downward slide.

Hillary has been Senator for several years, on her own, building up a power base and a knowledge of the issues, which impressed even her Republican colleagues. Mussers comment is ridiculous

  • Posted By: mussers @ 01/15/2008 9:32:14 PM

I'm wondering what happened to just voting in the primaries and then the general elections. All the mudslinging and press, both good and bad has this voter wishing it was all over already. How are we supposed to teach our children the right ways when they see ads on television and our "future leaders" being politicians. I have enough of all of it. But I will vote and it won't be demcratic either.

Of course Nevada counts! Liberal press coverage continues to try to silence smaller states, heartland states, and most conservatives. Why, for example, does the US press continue to proclaim that Mitt is fighting for his life, making a last stand for Michigan, WHEN HE HAS THE MOST MONEY AND LEADS IN THE GOP DELEGATE COUNTS!!?! Absurd. And Why does the liberal press keep giving Hillary credit for her 'experience' in being First Lady, when she and Bill won't let the National Archives release all her White House papers to let the American people decide whether any of her time there should count as relevant experience!!?!
