The bush legacy will be one of the saddest pages of modern history. His "better late than never approach" to become involved in the art of diplomacy is only a last ditch effort to be relevant in an area he has blotched consistently. This can only be explained by a total absense of sensitivity and sensibility. On one hand he believes that he can trample over the rest of the world and on the other he thinks he can come back with a couple of band aids to patch and heal the deep wounds he has inflicted to international diplomacy and thus earn the respect of the peoples of this world. It is evident that his only concern is one of an egotistical nature.

The Bush legacy will be one of the saddest pages of modern history. An arrogant an ignorant cowboy bully with loaded six shooters that suceeded in alienating the rest of the world with his insensitive self-centeredness.

American Lobo, your clearly neither wise nor intelligent, So you may want to check the definition of manslaughter, and hmm maybe try reading the news, you may even find an article or two on here about the terrorist that really are attempting to, not harm, but eliminate the western world. They surely dont have a chance at even coming close to sucess, but you cant critisize Bush for ridding us of just one of our many enemies. Now, Im not a Bush supporter by any means, the war was mismanaged, and has had catastrophic repurcussions on the Iraqi civilians and far too many American lives lost, considering the enemy vs our technology and military prowess; but you dont mention that, thus making your critisizm simply ignorant to clear and present facts. All that aside, if oil was the main objective, and ridding us of a well known anti American, ruthless, dictator, who massacred his own people, I would still deem that to be acceptable. In the mean time, while your educating yourself a little bit, you may want to avoid making a public fool of yourself, but thats just my friendly advise.

I suppose that in declaring American Lobo to be neither "wise nor intelligent" that you, interestedyoungmale, think that you are. Yet your use of the English language is atrocious. To whit: the constant confusion of the word "your" with the conjuntion "you're". Your sentence that begins with "Now, I'm not a Bush supporter by any means" is a run on mess. But the worst part of your post has to do with the logic that an acceptable rational for war is that a foreign leader is an "anti-American, ruthless dictator who massacred his own people".

If we extend this logic to the rest of the world then we will be launching invasions every 3 or 4 months. The current list of anti-American dictators who have murdered their own people is quite long. Robert Mugabe in Zimbabwe, Hosni Mubarak in Egypt and the Chinese Communist party are just a couple of examples of present day leaders that come to mind. However, if we cast our gaze back a few years, we would have an almost inexhaustible list to contend with: Pol Pot murdered over 2 million of his own people in Cambodia; Mao Tse Tung is reported to be responsible for the deaths of more than 10 million of his fellow Chinese citizens. And what about our great World War II ally, Joseph Stalin? Certainly, we should have invaded the USSR after Mr Stalins' "pograms" resulted in the annihilation of 5 million people in his country.
My point is that we have never gone to war with another country for the reasons that your find acceptable. The precedent set by Mr Bush was a very bad one and should never be repeated. Sadam was contained and could have been removed by giving covert assistance to his legion of enemies. No Americans and few Iraqis would have died. This Iraq war was one of the dumbest things that this country ever involved itself in. For that reason, history will not view Mr Bush favorably.

No matter what the President says and do, the bottom line is that he fooled every American, ignored the rule of law, peroiod! What would happen to an ordinary person that does what he did, Go to Jail!

    • Posted By: hogwash @ 01/16/2008 1:42:31 PM

Unfortunately, nobody has proven any illegal acts agains Bush. If he "fooled every American", that isn't illegal. So, what would happen to an ordinary person that does what he did? He would get a trial for the allegedly illegal acts and bad press for fooling everybody.

Bush and Cheney have made sure the evidence of their criminal activities has not been uncovered. They have committed crimes - torture, illegal wire tapping, corruption with oil companies, pharmaceutical companies and energy companies, and there is more.

It is way too sad that America was stuck with arrogant incompetent Bush. Now all the republicans on television that insured he got four more years by carrying the swift boat liars 24 hours a day and non-stop are sick and tired of him. They are fully aware how he has harmed our country and how he has done damage that will be felt for generations to come. The media is guilty of keeping this mistake in office these last four years.

    From WaPo:

"Right around the same time, [Nov. 2003] former Clinton administration official David Rothkopf made similarly distressing observations. In a Washington Post op-ed entitled, "Terrorist Logic: Disrupt the 2004 Election," he described a meeting in which nearly 75 percent of the professional participants (characterized as "serious people, not prone to hysteria or panic") also foresaw another terrorist attack occurring on American soil before the next election. "Recently, I co-chaired a meeting hosted by CNBC of more than 200 senior business and government executives, many of whom are specialists in security and terrorism related issues," he wrote. "Almost three-quarters of them said it was likely the United States would see a major terrorist strike before the end of 2004." [Washington Post]

So much for the predictions of "serious people."

In his term of office, boy Clinton not only did not prevent any attacks on US soil or US interests, he allowed bin Laden to escape after bin Laden had been offered to him on a silver platter.

    So much for legacies.

Are you willing to risk your family's security on the word of Iran's dictator? I would guess that some families are more at risk than yours. In the real world, would you take their place and risk the consequences of a miscalculation of their intentions?

    • Posted By: map529 @ 01/16/2008 3:27:00 PM

Don't see you over in Iraq or Afghanistan. How about your family members? Encouraging them to go fight Bush's war for more oil and money? Getting any of that money from the Bushes? Remember the Right's motto: "Fear is good." It makes stupid people stupider and we can take their money, civil liberties, and property. Go, Rex, Go.

LEt me get this straight. Saudi Arabia owns thirteen per cent of our U.S. economy. The Jews recieve Billions of dollars in subsidies from the UNITED STATES. IS IT NOT IN BOTH FACTIONS INTEREST TO KEEp THE SATUS QUO. BOTH THE ARABS AND THE ISRAELI's ARE ENJOYING OUR TAX MONEY. THEY MADE US CUT WELFARE BUT K Ept their subsidies intact. THIS IS WHY LIBERMAN AND McCain CAN NEVER WIN. THE ESTABLISHMENT HAS HAD IT. EVERY SECRET SOCIETY IS BEHIND ROMMNEY. Michigan is desperate and everyone knows that ROMMNEY bought his victory.

You actually misquoted Bush here, what he said was:
"There is no doubt in my mind, when history WAS written, the final page will say: victory was achieved by the United States of America for the good of the world."

  • Posted By: horizon07 @ 01/16/2008 12:50:53 PM

President Bush is trying to fool the American public by stating that he asked the Saudi's to produce more to lower oil prices when in fact is that the oil prices are so high is because of the policies the Administration adopted with the oil companies. Why doesn't Cheney release the documents of his Energy policy meeting with the oil executives? Are we that Stupid? Mark my word, Oil prices will start to go down once President Bush leaves office.

Gun Boat Diplomacy all over again? I love the fact that Wolf Blitzer spent so much time terrorising AMerica becuase some speedboarts were out for a frolick in international waters and now he has to contend with - "US Officials Overplayed" the situation that has absolutely no basis behind it. INTERNATIONAL WATERS - hey dipshits do you even know what that means? Did any of you yankee liberal arts majors ever bother to read basic maritime law in one of your off major courses? I'm sicvk and tired of the ignorance these talking heads have (ORiley, Blitzer, it don't matter what side of the fence, it's a broken fence can't you see!!!), have any of thee marroned loons botherd to serve in the militasry? Travel abroad on their own to learns something? Moved away from home before they were married maybe? Talk about blathering titty babies, I swear it gets more and more embarrassing to be an American all the time. WAKE UP PEOPLE THEY ARE LYING TO YOU ABOUT EVERYTHING!!!!!!!

What a petty? to have so much power to leave it with nothing...The President is a lame duck criminal, PERIOD! Hillary's comment yesterday in the debate calling him pathetic and "now he is begging for a cut in the price of oil" was uncalled for. I really think in that kind of forum, for a Senator of the United States to say something like that is ill-advised.

There is just too much media involvement in the things that they do not have all the facts over. People read the words and make assumptions on half truths. Democrats will not be on deck, and another Republican will continue to lead the country because they are more qualified. Juts hope it makes more sense to some than the media has projected with Bush.
