Mitt Romney: Keep in mind as you read this: This is the same Bain capital who just bought clear channel. Fox news supplies over 100 clear channel stations with news content. Romney basically owns Limbaugh, Hannity, Beck and the others on Fox Programs. Bain capital is one of the major contributors to the Romney Campaign Commonwealth PAC.

Read about Romney putting the nations security at risk with a Chineese company. Now there is a man of terrible leadership and judgment. The following is from Duncan Hunter

San Diego, CA - - - Presidential candidate and current Ranking Member of the House Armed Services Committee, Congressman Duncan Hunter, today called on former Governor Mitt Romney to send a "clear statement" to the leadership of the company he founded, Bain Capital, to terminate a proposed business deal with a controversial Chinese corporation seeking to acquire U.S. defense contractor 3COM.
Bain Capital is attempting to form a business arrangement with Huawei Corporation, a Chinese corporation founded by an officer of the Peoples Liberation Army of Communist China, which faces allegations of assisting Saddam Hussein in the targeting of U.S. aircraft and in helping the Taliban develop surveillance equipment.
"I am extremely concerned that Governor Romney's company would tout a highly suspect Chinese corporation as a strategic partner," stated Hunter.
"Forming a business partnership with a corporation known to have direct ties with terrorists and dictators while, at the same time, openly seeking to acquire a major U.S. corporation that performs vital cyber security work for the Department of Defense, can only be characterized as irresponsible."
A resolution has been introduced in Congress, H.Res. 730, which states; "The preponderance of publicly available evidence clearly suggests that as currently structured, the proposed transaction involving Huawei threatens the national security of the United States and should not be approved by the Committee on Foreign Investment in the United States ." A copy of this resolution is provided.
Hunter stated in his letter to Governor Romney, "???while it is true that you no longer control Bain Capital, the contributions you have received from its principals as its founding member indicate that your influence within the company remains strong.
"Further, while the Committee on Foreign Investment has yet to rule on the Huawei transaction, this corporation's connection to Saddam Hussein, the Taliban and the Army of Communist China should clearly disqualify them from becoming, in the words of your former company, "a strategic partner" in acquiring a U.S. firm such as 3COM, which performs vital cyber-security work for the U.S. Department of Defense

Face your choices for which Presidential Candidate will represent your wishes in appointing aging Supreme Court Justices for possibly the next 8 years (30 years in the life of Justice appointments):

    Rudy Giuliani
Has appeared twice on Saturday Night Live in Drag. I???ve seen Giuliani in two different dresses and a man???s suit top and bare legs and nylons below the waist.

He has had 4 different wives, misplaces firemen command centers, and doesn???t even try to pretend to be pro-life long enough to get elected.

All we have is his word for it that he will appoint conservative judges even though he is against it.

I do not trust the word of a man who has obligated himself to a Las Vegas casino owner who is supplying the Giuliani campaign with a jet.

John McCain should capture the republican nomination after winning SC. His credentials and personality outmatch all other candidates.

Interestingly enough, JohnMcCain.name is unused and for sale.

Right now our country is facing a foreign policy disaster, which directly and indirectly affects our economic strength. It is a small world, and our continued prosperity comes through global involvement, alliance building, and responsibility towards those we trade with. I think of the "superheroes" available, Obama would do the best job at both shoring up our image abroad and safeguarding our economic interests. He served on the Foreign Relations Committee, so has experience with foreign affairs, and both his calm approachability as a person and his background would make it far more easy for foreign envoys to relate with than the aloof homogeny of the other candidates.

The one elected will ahve a tough time for the first year overcoming the worst President in my 50 year stint on this earth. I have voted in every election since I turned 18, and I have never been so depressed about where my country has been headed. I travel abroad and agree with the people I meet, we have a president that is trying to force it's views on the world, rather than trying to gain support through reason. The big stick approach.
If the majority of the world changes it's view of us, we should step back and think about where we have changed as a nation, once looked at as the pillar of what was right and just. Now we are a nation of bullies and schemers, putting any propaganda or mis-statements out to further our interests.

The only one that will be able to put our economy in place will be Clinton. Do your homework. Look back to when Bill was president, our econoomy was booming. When you depend on tips you are dead in the water if you vote for Obama! Do your homework!!!

But the world also knows that whoever is the next president, the US will still be the US where real power is in the hands of the lobbyists, campaign contributors, oil and the US policy makers. The campaign and media charade are just illusions. The world will never forget what the US is capable of. Bombing Hiroshima, the Bay of Pigs incident , invasion of Afghanistan and Iraq. Oh, one more thing - the never ending Israel/Palestine peace summits.

well said, "shecallsmemoe" I too find it funny that elites who use big words seem to forget the blood and toil and free trade that brought us to this point.

How badly, really, has our reputation been tarnished? France, Australia and Germany have elected pro-U.S. heads of state, Saudi Arabia agreed to open the spigots, Eastern Europe have adopted pro-growth (U.S.-style) economic policies. It is merely the intelligensia of Western Europe and the U.S., Arab Streets and the U.N. that are anti-American, and they were thus well before the Bush Doctrine became policy. The U.N. will release a report tomorrow saying that progess is being made, and made quickly, in Iraq, and the world still looks to us whenever there is a humanitarian crises. Relax, America. Bush may not have been the best president, but our reputation is fine, despite how journalists try to spin it. We are still the beacon of hope for millions of people across the globe.

there seems to be this need to be liked, Insecurity is the word that comes to mind. It takes two partys to have a good relationship. America gives all these countrys billions in aid, finances the UN and helps are allies far more than anyone helps us. We had to go into bagdad, because our so called freinds around the world refused to impose sanctions on Saddam to preserve thier illegal weapons and tech trade.Remember the oil for food program. The same thing will happen in Iran. Saddam made agreements to stop the first gulf war, no fly zones ect ect ect then quickly broke them. Many people around the world still love America and want to come here, I would say more than dont like us. If you say W is to blame , I say our socalled freinds have a obligation to the relationship also and dont act like do. Blame america and More so Bush for all your troubles. It seems to work for Dmocrats.

CLINTONS ARE THE ONLY DEM THAT CAN IMMEDIATELY CHANGE THE OPINON OF THE US, Obama has taken us back 60 years with his racism

Anyone who still backs G. Bush after all the sh*t he's pulled, and lies he's been caught telling is obviously blind, deaf and naive. He's not even qualified to manage a convenience store. He got C's in school, failed as governor, struck out while owning a sports team. and had the worst run as a CEO of an oil company. With that resume, I wouldn't hire him to be in charge of anything more than washing my car. He obviously doesn't have the wisdom or experience to run this country. He's fooled the religious right by saying that God talks to him and by trying to act holier than thou. Cheney is the one pulling the strings because he's a lot shrewder and devious. It's a shame how people are gullible and still support Bush(mostly Texans and conservative Christian nuts.)

Invading Iraq hasn't helped one bit at stopping terrorism. If anything, it's created more terrorists.and insurgents. It's easy to see for those willing to read between the lines that it's all about oil and controlling Middle East. They want to control Iran, so they(the Bush administration) have been using fear tactics to make everyone afraid of Iran.

      • Posted By: dewcooper @ 01/16/2008 2:50:18 PM

When was the last time the US was attackedd by terrorists? And you are right, we shouldn't worry about Iran, whose president was an active planner\participant in the kidnapping of US civilians in the 1980s.

I'm hardly a fan of Ahmadinejad, but there's no evidence that he was actually one of the hostage takers. It was basically a bad case of "they all look the same" ignorance. We should be wary of Iran, but attacking them would be extremely stupid and counterproductive.

Uh, I think Obama is the rockstar in Europe. See NYT article on "Germans have a crush on Obama" and how his book is sold out over there. It is related to their affection for JFK (Ich bin ein Berliner) and the parallel tone and message they hear coming from him.

  • Posted By: dewcooper @ 01/16/2008 2:47:29 PM

When was the last time another country asked OUR opinion on who they should elect? We shouldn't care what the rest of the world thinks, because they sure don't care about ours (Iran, Sudan, China, Russia, etc.). We need to elect a presidnet who will do what is right, even if it isn't popular and not someone who is easily swayed by a strategically crafted poll question\result.

Any one who votes for a GOP is nuts. I work too and I don't turn my paycheck over to my HMO. Check out the WHO rating system. Our health care system is the most expensive in the world. Franch, which rates # 1, is cheaper than ours, so is Austira's which ranks # 9. (According to a recent article in Neue Krone Zeitung, most Austirans are quite content with the quality of medical care they receive.) In any one's going to mess with your health care, it will be your rob-and-kill HMO's.

    • Posted By: dewcooper @ 01/16/2008 2:43:59 PM

You will just go from turning part of it over to an HMO to turning ALL of it over to the government. The Fed running a 'project' does not make it cheap, but more expensive. If the Dems get their socialized medicine, it is all but guaranteed.

And Austria is no bigger than what, Rhode Island! Try getting elective surgery (any surgery not approved by the insurance company) in any of the WHO countries. Heck, you will even wait in line for necessary surgeries. Remeber the kid in Canada who died from appendisitis while waiting for 'his turn'?

My word man, don't you read the result's? Your saying Ghooliani is viable? Good thing you didn't fall all over Mr. Thompson as his run was lazy and canned. I know you can't report things accurately on the front pages for fear of losing your corporate backed job, so I'll just hint at the Michigan result's. Who is steadily gaining ground DESPITE no media coverage?? YOU KNOW!!! :)

I think anyone who would vote for a Dem is just plain nuts. I would vote for George W Bush again. I love this country and what it stands for. I dont need Dem raising my taxes or tell me how to live and I dont need them messing with my health care, I work and earn my money!!!!.
