CAMPAIGN 2008

Lowering Expectations

After winning New Hampshire, John McCain's campaign thought it had a shot at Michigan. But by Tuesday morning he had pretty much conceded.

Comment: For those MOUTHING off about "100 years in Iraq," the USA has spent SIX DECADES in EUROPE and over FIFTY YEARS in South Korea-where is YOUR MOUTH about those two issues? A permanent presence in Iraq would go a long way to quelling the violence in the Middle East-provided it is done right as McCain says and not continually botched.

    Comment: To my children,

I will do all I can to make sure that "McCain the Insane" will not reach a higher office. I will write blogs, letters, commentaries and run him down in every conversation of a political nature I can.
A man who truely believes in his heart that 100 years in Iraq is a good thing for America should not even see the vice-presidency as an option.

McCain would sell out all our souls to get what he wants. He would spend what ever he can get to see that we the American People are rulers of the world.

That is why I call him "McCain the Insane".

South Carolina please hide your sons, lest they be drafted to fight in an illegal war.

Some one please find a Republican I can vote for who is all about peace, security and financial wisdom.

Comment: As long as the liberals own the visual and print media, you will NEVER LIVE TO SEE LESS GOVERNMENT. Get over it and compromise.

Comment: There is no compromise for less government, as anything else is simply more. We already have more government than we need (and that the Constitution dictates), and as all would agree at some level doesn't work. So why keep addidng 'more' to it? If the system doesn't work, don't keep breaking it.

Comment: DenisL, I like what Ron Paul has to say (less government, no taxes), but unfortunately, the US political system is based more on the messanger than the message, the electability factor. Dr. Paul simply doesn't have it. If the independent\liberatarian\constitution party could have gotten Jon Stausol (spelling) from ABC to run, it might be a different story, as he seems more youthful and energetic (think Reagan as governor as appossed to his last days in office). That has always been the problem with the libertarian\constitution party, good message, bad messangers. And unfortunately, that is the anchor around Ron Paul's neck in this election. And I really doubt he will be able to shake it off in order to get the knod.

Winning one state will not make much of a diffrence. Paul would need to sweep Super Tuesday in order to be even considered for contention to be mentioned. Thompson placed third in Iowa and fourth in New Hampshire (I think), and how ofter do you see his name in the media?

Comment: After 3 well publicized races in Iowa, NH, and Michigan, we have 3 different winners. Ron Paul has hung in there with 6-10% of the vote with his worst showing in Michigan at 6% where he did not really campaign. Interestingly in the county with Hillsdale College Ron Paul got 17% of the vote. Romney, McCain, and Huckabee split the vote fairly evenly with 27%, 27% and 21%, respectively. Hillsdale College is likely the most conservative college in America. Ron Paul's ideas are strongest among the young people according to the exit polling.

I see great things in the future for REAL limited government policies in the Republican Party! Go Ron Paul and the freedom message!!

We shall see what happens now that we are going wholesale, if Ron Paul's money combined with his ardent supporters will help. California will be especially interesting, where there will be a county by county allotting of delegates, NOT based on population.

Isn't it ironic: Xerox is hoping it can profit by teaching companies how to reduce their printing.
