Its the fault of the voters if they get politicians who lie... afterall, voters vote for that who will tell them what they want to hear, not what the truth is...

I appreciate McCain's straightfoward approach - I don't think there's anything wrong with not pulling any punches and saying cars need to be more fuel-efficient, that auto-industry dependant jobs as we know them today are gone. Rather, I am annoyed by Romney's "ah, home!" message. When was the last time he was in MI for leisure? I am very concerned about the economy, but I want elected officials to give it to me straight, not tell me what I want to hear and/or tell me something different in each state. BTW, I haven't "picked" a candidate yet.
Was it a flike? NO! You guys are a joke. What a line to plot. Well, we are not as naive as you would hope, and see through your efforts. Mitt Romney is the real deal, and as he moves to the larger states he will run away with the primary and will be the next President! Was it a fluke.....LOL
Sorry, by suggesting that Mitt is the most cynical of everyone running, that's out of the Republicans. I'd still put him second to John Edwards overall.
I wouldn't call it a fluke. I think a politician can go far by spending a lot of money and pandering to people. Ask the "pander bear" himself, Bill Clinton. However, I think he may be the most cynical politician running.
Mitt is the Man! He alone has the knowledge and experience to guide the economy back to vibrant success, as he did in even liberal Tax-achussetts, saving that disastrous state economy.
Mitt just made a promise to Michigan that will force him to flip-flop everywhere else in the country. Mitt picked up Reagan's mantle by saying "Government isn't the solution to the problem. Government is the problem." And there was Mitt in Michigan promising to use government to solve a problem that government can not solve. Government can not make the consumer purchase the cars the Big Three are making. It is just that simple! Mitt can give all the tax cuts he wants to the Big Three but if they don't make cars that people want the tax cuts will only enrich the rich...once again.
The government could get out of the industries way, eliminate taxes and break-up the unions. That creat an economy like you haven't seen before! People who could actually afford things!!
YOU GO MITT!!! YOU HAVE THE BRAINS AND POSITIVE OUTLOOK TO LEAD THIS NATION.
HA HA HA TO "rtgo"
You've been spewing "flip flop" till your blue in the face - and a bigot like you must be FURIOUS that your nasty plan isn't working!
The GOOD news is, the UNITED STATES will benefit as a whole from Mitt Romney's success.
Stop saying that Romney has not done well. He has 1st 2 twice!!! Being second twice, means that he beat both McCain and Mike two more times. The math is simple. Give him credit.
Thanks,
Rhett Thomas
mitt is the best man for the job--no question.
RTGO ,
You do not understand. Yes, Washington cannot make people buy cars from the Big Three. That is not how Romney will do it. He is saying that he will bring innovation and tax cuts that help everyone. When you do not have to spend money on taxes, you can spend it on innovation or on the economy. That grows the economy and helps the cars become better. By the way, a lot of people do want American cars. I do not and will not drive a foreign car; too many problems. I am for Mitt Romney! He is the only one that can get us out of the economic mess we are in because he is the only one that has done it for a living. Mitt Romney!
Comment to jldeani: Please stop acting like you know things you don't. For one, it is not necessary to sue to leave the LDS church. It is a choice we all have and the church NEVER forces anything upon us. I am a mormon and my aunt chose not to stay a member of the church. She had her name taken off the baptism records and there were no problems. It is interesting to hear people talk so confidently about my church and all these bad things they think are proven. It amazes me how people have been taught to be so cruel, and to believe the stereotypes and bizarre accusations people love to shout out about our religion. We would never run out and attack other churches, to criticize and point fingers or rally around areas that are important to other denominations with malicious words and disturbing signs, etc. Rather, we are taught to embrace people of all religions, respect them, and follow the golden rule. We love to share with people what we believe, because it brings joy, hope, peace, and understanding into our lives- and how could one never desire to share that with another? When our missionaries invite others to understand our beliefs and ask God for themselves if it is right, we never force our message. It is always a message of invitation to partake, to serve, and to receive the joy that comes from a complete understanding of all the important questions about the purpose of life, and inviting Christ to be a central part of our lives. How could so many young people with so much promise in their lives at an early college age choose to leave for 2 years and simply share that message? Giving up everything else in their lives? It is a hard task with so much hate in the world, but it means so much to us and we love all of God's children. Then, nobody even forces us to serve. It is a choice- always! It is easy to share a message like this with others, when we can also teach them to ask God for themselves if our message is true. He is the only one who can truly testify to our hearts the real truth. And it is greater still, to see those who have truly pondered, asked God, and received an answer- and the light that comes into their lives in following the commandments. Should a person decide to leave, it will always be their choice, but we still love them. I appreciate Mitt NOT for simply being a mormon, but because of what he did with the Olympics and what I believe he can do to change an economy. You may form your own opinion about candidates, but Please, in respect, do not bring our religion into focus to criticize and spread lies about, when you are debating a presidential candidate, and apparently know nothing about what we truly believe or who we are.
The problem isn't your thoughts and feelings on Christ. Most religions based upon the teachings and following of Christ hold this same feeling. Where most people have a problem with Mormonism is the inclusion and equality placed on the Book of Mormon.
To dewcooper. It sounds like you are a fair and thoughtful person. Thank you for your honesty. I don't think we need to bash other religions and you don't. Anyone can get a copy of the Book of Mormon to check it out for yourself to see what it really contains. Any other link on this site except www.lds.org will not tell you the truth about what the LDS church teaches. Yes I am a member of the Church of Jesus Christ of Latter Day Saints (the Mormons) and I am not supporting Mitt Romney blindly. I have my own thoughts, and make my own decisions on who I will vote for. I can vote with any party and any candidate. I live in my own home, work my own job and have the ulitmate freedom that all Americans have. I am so normal like all of you that it is funny to hear all these untruths about my religion. I have heard what previous Presidents religions are and have seen how they worship their God and go to their churches and that is comforting to me. They don't bring their religion into government meetings, etc. That is what I still expect to have happen.
Mitt Romney is a real leader. He knows how to bring things around to be successful. He knows how to balance a budget. I was very impressed with how the Olympics went and he is a good person. If I want to know about what a church teaches I would go right to the source, whether it is Catholic, Mormon or Baptist. For the real info. on the 'Mormon" church go to www.LDS.org. That stands for The Church of Jesus Christ of Later Day Saints. I have never heard someone has to sue to leave the LDS church. It sounds like sensationlism to me. I like what dewcooper said. I want someone as President who does know they cannot do it alone, that they need their God to help them.
Jldean writes"I've heard the same testimony from ex-Mormons who have had to sue to leave the LDS "church". It's a cult started by a proven, admitted con-man.
Yes and I have heard from ex-Mormons that they had a hard time having the horns rempoved from their head.
Your broad brush approach to explain things are amazing.
IF you would like to read a short bit about what they believe try this link

McCain once again shows his true colors, embracing the ridiculus Democratic idea of global warming. By the end of this, we will probably see him support bigger government, amnesty for illegals (already done that), and higher taxes. What's next Mr. McCain, talks about the rich vs the poor and how capitalism is destroying the USA?
As far as telling the truth, why didn't anyone mention that Michigan's economic woes are because of their state government's policies, something the President can do nothing about...
As far as Romney's religious beliefs, when was the last time a president actually enacted CHURCH doctrine? We have had Catholics, a Quaker, whatever Jefferson was, Baptists, Methodists, etc. and I don't remember any laws that came from these organizations. Personally, I look for a candidate humble enough to know that they can't do the job without God, rather than for one arrogant enough to think that they can. Or as in the case of the Dems, only parading out their 'faith' whenever it seems convenient, then tossing it back into the closet.
Mitt Romney won by pandering, plain and simple. That is not leadership.
You say that Mitt Romney talked about his ideas fro bringing jobs back to Michigan. What ideas? To keep making the same cars that nobody wants anymore? Yeah, I have "ideas" as well. Let's give every man woman and child a million bucks! It's easy to say you have ideas but a promise is not an idea. As much as I do not like John McCain, he is right. Those jobs are never coming back. And retraining? For what jobs do you intend to retrain people? Street sweepers? Shoeshine boys? You can promise a free college education for everyone, but some people are not going to be rocket scientists. They are not bad people, in fact they are some of the best people. But the jobs that people who have skills but limited education are not here anymore. We are doomed.
Congratulations Mitt. You have connected with the Michigan GOP base. McCain's campaign is in deep need of resusitation. Huckabee has no idea what just happened.
Bring the American automobile industry back again. As a business person, you can forge the relationship between the government and American industry. Now, on to California, New York and the rest of the GOP base. Hooray!
In addition to Rickskm's valid points in response to JBuz, I would add this: JBuz you should (1) try telling the truth; if you don't know it, then learn before you speak since several of your points are outright fabrications; (2) other of your points are distortions that make the issues bearly understandable, are falsely inflammatory and appear calculated to mislead your readers; and (3) no sane person is going to listen to the babblings of a hatemonger such as yourself in deciding who to vote for or what faith to turn to.
JBuz, your top ten amazing facts about Mormonism are twisted and incorrect. You're obviously getting your information from those who would destroy the church. The bottom line, it wouldn't matter if Mormons have horns and didn't believe there was a God, it has no bearing on a political election. Get over your bias and quit trying to pass your misunderstandings on to others. Why does it matter so much that you have to try to vilify Mormons with half truths?
Mr. M. Romney is the best!!! Congratulations.
Lithuania with you, Mr. M. Romney.
Only libertarian-republican Mr. Poul is better, but he is not popular in USA.
