Better Prevention or Changing Attitudes?

I'm a Christian, but I don't think God has anything to do with it. If they were devoted to God's word, they wouldn't be in a situation to contemplate abortion.
Young and not so young women are ending their pregnancies with medications instead of opting for protection to start. I see many teens going through with their pregnancies because their mothers (not mothers and fathers because they are single parents) have decided to suck it up and support them through it. Honestly, I feel sorry for the children being born to another parent who is unprepared to nurture and support a child.

It doesn't matter whether the bible says it's wrong or not. Not everyone believes in the christian way of life. Again, my body, my choice. If the thing is in my body, and I don't want it there (for WHATEVER reason I so choose, since it is MY BODY), that is MY DECISION.
And for you that said that Planned Parenthood is a BIG BUSINESS, look at many evangelical churches. They are nothing but!!!!!!!

lamullen....you forgot one thing...there are TWO 'bodies' involved here...the babies and yours...While I resepct your views, I tend to look at my two children and I cannot see these two amazing individuals as nothing...Also...we cannot forget the one perfect solution is abstinence....If you dont have sex you will not get pregnant...I know a number of peoplke this has worked for and they are happily married and have wanted children, etc...I am a realist...we did just have the talk with our 16 year old...we understand she is going to have to make these decisions for herself soon...but we were not afraid to share with her ALL options...Just some thoughts....

The baby is alive, it has a heart, it has a brain. it feels it hurts, it thinks. I have heard that the babies try and get away during the abortion process trying to get away from the tool thats gonna kill it.
The thing inside a woman is not a fetus, its a human, a baby. In that sense, the 10 commandments. Thou shall not kill.

i hope the reason for the drop in abourtion is because women are using more birth control. it is our responsibility to make sure we are being safe. we are the ones who get pregnant. there are plenty of ways to have safe sex and still have fun!

So for me, ending a pregnancy is murder. If that baby inside of you has a heart beat, how can you kill it. It is a part of you made by you and another person. The Abortion debate only talks about the womans rights. What about the baby, whee isits say in the matter? What about the father or sperm doner, where's his say in this? All people talk about is the woman this and woman that. If you don't want to have a baby use birth control or wear a condom. Better yet, don't spread your legs especially with someone you don't want to have a kid with. It's that sinple.
There are other forms of sexual pleasures out there, that a person really doesn't need to have sex with someone they don't see fit or don't have to have sex to get that pleasure.
With the new medical developments, medicines, information and help, I see no need for a person to have an abortion. Questioned about the women that are raped, there's the morning after pill or whatever you call it. There is no need for someone to get an abortion.
When people see the risk and damage an abortion causes to a woman and her body, It blows my mind why someone would have one. Worst yet, look at a sonogram, that little thing moving around is alive and it is a part of you and your life. This whole abortion thing is just sad. And people on both sides should look at everyone and everything involved in this ordeal, not just the woman , the baby or the father.

You are absolutely right. I hope you are sitting down, because I am about to using some words that people on the left despise. BIG BUSINESS and GREED. That's what Planned Parenthood is all about. Their annual income exceeds one billion dollars. They are after the money under the guise of helping young women. It is in their best interest to promote more abortions, just as it is in the best interest of the pharmaceutical companies to create myths about diseases in order to sell more drugs. If you think Planned Parenthood is above all that, then you are more brainwashed than I thought. I am neither pro-choice nor pro-life. I don't cast my vote for a candidate based on their stance on abortion, so I can be more objective than most posters here. That's the way I see it. Money, money, money. Like the pharma industry, lies sell.

there are a lot of things that the Bible tells us to do that we're (including you) obviously not doing -so stop judging! ... remember that too is in the Bible.

Some of you are saying that birth control does not work all the time, and that is true it has a 1% failure rate. Use condoms as a backup, especially those of you who are casually having abortions, not yo mention birth control does nothing for STDs.
